Dollarama review: Shortchanged $20.00

April 06, 2021 approximately 11:13 am, the cashier handed my changed back in as a crumpled mess of bills and a large amount of change. I paid with a $100.00 bill. I suspected something was wrong so I immediately counted my change when I got back to my vehicle as I had kept the coins in my hand and placed the crumpled mess in my purse as I only had the $100.00 bill to begin with. I uncrumpled the bills and found that I had been given:
2 X $20.00
3 X $5.00
5 X $2.00
1 X $1.00
3 X $0.25
1 X $0.10
I went back with change and receipt in hand only to be told I was wrong. I insisted on them viewing the security footage from the numerous cameras many times, but that wasn't even acknowledged as an option. I made the mistake of saying it was $10.00 but it was actually $20.00 that I was shortchanged. I was finally handed my money back plus $10.00 (should have been $20.00) and had to request my receipt back. As I was getting ready to leave I stated that had I not been given the correct amount I was getting ready to call the police. I was then yelled at to get out.
I believe that the security footage would have resolved the matter but they would not even acknowledge my request.
This is not the first time that I have been given the incorrect amount of change back to me at this location but it is the highest amount that I have been shortchanged thus far. And of course I was upset to have been shortchanged such a large amount of money as well as the unprofessional manner in which I had received my change.
