Dollarama review: Customer service

I was at this Dollarama (123-129 Lombard Street, Smiths Falls, Ontario) store today and it was very busy. There was only one cashier on cash and only one other employee in the store. The cashier was very slow perhaps she was new. When we suggested she should have called for backup she indicated the other employee was on her break and there was no one for her to call for assistance.
In my opinion the second employee whom I assume was a keyholder should have surveyed the front end and watched for overcrowding in the lines and if necessary jump on cash and help clear the lines. She should have been aware that her ONLY cashier was struggling to keep up to the volume of customers and needed help.
