Dollar General review: Staff and condition of store

I entered Dollar General in College Station TX last Saturday (Nov. 21) to pick up a few Christmas items. I got my items and went to the register to check out. Three black employees were working. A lady, two men. The heavy set man checked me out. He was looking for a price on my item. (a roll of wrapping paper) I told him I found it in that box and it is marked $1.00. I pointed to the box. He looked then picked up my next item and scanned it. Then the scanned a Matchbox Car. I told him that was not my item. He replied back in a very sarcastic tone "I had to get the dollar." I said oh I am sorry. He finished scanning my other item. (bows) Then he said something to the other black man. He said He was going to go back to work for (whatever place he came from). I won't have to put up with white trash! He looked up at me. I was so mad. I didn't say a word as I thought he might have a gun or knife in his pocket. I was biting my tongue not to say something back. Now for the condition of the store, It was dirty. Items were everywhere on the floor. You could not find a thing. The store is so packed I surprised anyone shops there. I used to go in there often when it was first open. The workers are always standing around upfront or outside. Also, with COVID 19 they were not wearing mask until you approached the checkout counter. Then, they would pull them up. This was true of all three workers that day. I won't be shopping there again until things are cleaned up and managed properly.
