Dollar General review: Customer service

I went to The Dollar General located at 496 25th Ave in Bellwood Illinois today 7/29/2020 at 4:45pm. I stopped there after working a 16 hour day to pick up a few household items. I don't like to go there because the customer service is so bad and I wish I had not. I got my items and was standing in line. Once the cashier had finished ( brown skinned man in his late 20's early 30's with a beard) I stepped up and put my items on the counter. The cashier moved to the next register and began taking the customers behind me. I asked the gentleman what register was open and in a nasty tone he said "the one with the light on" I said but sir you just took a customer here, you never told me to step down. He continued to be argumentative with me and then told me to step down after I had placed my items on the counter. He didn't apologize nor did he try to assist me with moving my items over. I was in shock at the attitude he had. So I left the items on the counter and went to Target. I refuse to spend money in an establishment that has no respect for their customers. The people that keep the business open. I'm surprised that the music wasn't blasting today and personal conversations and profanity wasn't happening, which is usually what I have experienced the few times I have been there.
