Crunch Fitness Crunch is not the gym for you

The Gym has chosen to only focus on training... if you want a Gym that has a Bathroom that is available while you work out and one that meets the need you are trying to get with a membership, THIS IS NOT THEY GYM FOR YOU. Think i am wrong try and log one complaint... you will see corporate tells you to contact the local gym the local gym will tell you to contact corporate or QUIT. They actually encourage you to QUIT the Gym if you don't want a trainer. If you do join ask them if there is always a bathroom available for all members... They should credit people back for not being able to supply a simple bathroom. The manager Tony said and I quote "I can make it where you pay nothing because you don't have to work out here" really you cant do your job so you threaten to cancel my membership?

I asked they do any the the following:

1) Get a male to clean the mens bathroom

2) Post in English when its closed so i can read it

3) Post the time during the day the bathroom will be closed and when it will open

4) If you want us to go next door to another store to use thier bathroom post that

Come on why is this so hard to manage the Bathrooms.

Crunch Fitness Horrible Customer Service!!

I signed up for the classes, however I was NEVER able to attend. I was info by Kendall {at registration} that I only needed to give a 30'day notice...but when I tried to cancel, I was met with hostility and they "Crunch" wanted me to pay for a 90'day membership instead... Now they / GM Jeremy has threatened to send me to COLLECTIONS because I refuse to stay on the pay roster for 90'days. Hell u got paid for 60'days w/out attending...Horrible customer service Jeremy

Recommendation: Make sure you get an honest person when you sign up / register for the classes.

Crunch Fitness Athletic Society (owned by Crunch) in Canoga Park/Chatsworth, CA

I have been a member of this gym since 2001 when it was known as Spectrum. It has been through a few names since. The gym used to be very busy and lively, with lots of members and friends meeting in the dressing room (maybe 30+ women or so in there at any given time), then off to work out. Now, there's usually myself and maybe one other person in there. The current "manager" Terri (not sure of the spelling) never has anything fixed throughout the facility. The granite/stone counter is cracked off in the lady's dressing room sink area with very jagged edges, the hot tub/jacuzzi does not work anymore, and both the steam room and sauna have been broken for over a year. She is very abrupt and rude when asked if anything might be getting fixed and she literally ignores you and walks away. Maybe she's saving the company money by not repairing anything? Besides that, the carpets are tearing open at the seams and there are huge 2-3' stains throughout. The place is very run down and 4 of my friends have already left there for less expensive gyms that are immaculate, and where the amenities actually work. The ONLY reason why I stay on there is because I like a Wednesday step class taught by Kim Worthen. If she moves on, I will be gone. (the same sentiment of other women in that class). It's a shame. Maybe a different manager might help? Terri is not caring whatsoever and the place is sooo run down :{

Recommendation: Try another gym. Less expensive and probably much better cared for

Crunch Fitness Staff harassment

Hi,
As I was entering the gym yesterday, I said hello to the lady behind the counter, she is Brazilian, with long brown hair, I think her name might be Jessica, as I was walking away, the tall blonde male staff member who was with her gave her a real tongue lashing for talking to me, she was trying to stand up for herself but he shouted her down,
As I was leaving the gym and was walking past the counter., the tall black man gave the same woman a hard time about me, I heard her trying to stand up for herself again, there was two patrons that where talking to her at the time and I’m sure it didn’t look well for the image of the gym to witness such sexual harassment,
I’ve had to complain about about these men before, I have also had to complain about this woman being bullied as she surely is,
Can you get them to leave her alone and try to end the war that is going on behind the counter?

Desired outcome: There’s a feeling that there is a predictor behind the counter

Hi, I had to complain about a staff member during the week, he is tall with blonde hair,
As I was walking past him yesterday evening he was showing a new patron around, when he saw ne he told her that I had complained about him and what I had complained about, he then told her not to talk to me, a common thing the stafff tell the patrons to do,
He also said the late the police have been telling him to split me up with all the women,
I know the police he is talking about, they attend the gym and talk about wanting to have gay sex with me,
A man I work with, who is semi retarded is claiming that he knows the police at the gym and is encouraging them to split me up with all the women because he “ wants Allan to die alone” he is a very bad man and is driving everyone in my workplace man, just as the cops are driving all the staff in the gym mad, they have made about 20 staff members leave since I joined,
It’s always the same, they encourage the staff to do things, the things get worse and worse, the well being of the staff gets worse and worse, then they leave, new staff turn up and the whole cycle of abuse starts again, it’s sick, they don’t care how many lives they are ruining

Crunch Fitness Gym manager

Hi, I had to make a complaint last week about two male staff members bullying a female staff member, one of whom I mentioned was a Brazilian male with grey hair,it turns out he must be the manger,
Today as I was walking in I heard him admitting to the two other staff members that he made his gay male friends all go and workout beside me on Sunday and how he made them split me up with women at the gym on Sunday, it did happen
I don’t think he should be playing such games with me,I’m not gay and I never will be,it doesn’t matter how many gay men he sends to me or how many women he splits me up with,I will never be gay
Also I don’t think staff should be interfering with people’s lives like that, it’s psycho social behaviour which I think is now against the law here in Australia,it’s also sexual harassment

Crunch Fitness Gym membership

I signed up for a membership with Crunch January 30th. I had switched from GoodLife as I was under the impression that Crunch would be better value. Unfortunately since signing up I have gone to the gym twice due to medical reasons and a recent surgery. In March I moved out of the province for school, which is when I initially called to cancel my membership. This was never done. When I went to delete the app I noticed that it stated on my account that I had an outstanding balance of $171 dollars. I called again in April to cancel my membership, it was confirmed that my membership was not cancelled and that it was not possible unless I came in to sign paperwork. I let them know that would not be possible as I moved out of province and switched banks. They explained that the payments for March and April never came out and that there were two fees for the transaction declining on top of an annual fee that I was unaware of. I dont like to owe money as I just moved out of province and am going back to school. despite being unaware of the annual fee I was willing to give my bank information to settle the amount due. I explained my situation and I was assured I would not be charged the additional fees. I double confirmed that I would not be charged for those fees before I gave my banking information. When I checked my bank statement I was in fact charged the FULL amount. I have called twice now. I called on Wednesday at 8:00am, re-explained my situation and was told I would receive a call from the manager around 11:30, but never got a call. Called today at 8:00am and was told the manager was aware of the situation and that I would receive a call, still yet to receive a call. I have attached a screenshot of my bank statement with the $171 charge on April 24th and a screenshot of my Crunch Fitness Statement that shows I was charged $81 on April 24th. This statement is FALSIFIED and does not reflect what I was charged. As a student who just moved out of province I should not have to follow up more than once for your error, let alone 4 times. I would like this to be taken seriously and for my inconvenience, issued an immediate refund as my membership should have been cancelled in March when I initially called.

You should be including the annual fee in the membership plans that you "lay out" on the website, NOT suddenly added at checkout. I regret getting a membership at crunch, my boyfriend, best friend and co workers have all cancelled their memberships and I will not be recommending crunch to anyone going forward.

Crunch Fitness Staff

Hi, there’s a problem with a staff member, when I’ve been say ing hello or goodbye to the lady staff members he has been giving them a hard time for interacting with me,
He’s quite young, blonde and tall,
Also a couple of weeks ago when I was leaving the gym, the tall black man said to him about him telling new women gym members not to talk to me, I have actually heard other staff members telling introductory members not to talk to me as I walk past,
I don’t know if he’s and they are doing it themselves or if someone is telling them to do it, but as always I would like it to stop,
I have complained about the staff and their behaviour before, but it hasn’t stopped,
I’m just trying to stay fit and healthy and I’m not looking for any unhealthy trouble

Crunch Fitness Cancellation

I am filing this complaint regarding Crunch Fitness and the deliberate obstacles they have put in place to prevent me from canceling my membership—as well as my children's—despite repeated, good-faith efforts over several months.
I initially began the cancellation process in December 2024, and in January 2025, I extended that request to include my children’s memberships (I said all accounts related to me as I signed everyone up at the same time so I am not sure where the disconnect is. My children were minors at the time of enrollment. Despite my consistent efforts to cancel, the club manager refused to acknowledge my requests and insisted that cancellations must be done in person, a policy that is both unreasonable and impractical, especially given that we have since moved away from the area. Me being a veteran

Since January, I have emailed Crunch Fitness every month for three consecutive months to formally request cancellation of the memberships. I received no replies whatsoever. The lack of acknowledgment or response is unprofessional and feels deliberately obstructive.

Furthermore, my experience aligns with numerous other consumer complaints available online—many of which report similar issues of ignored emails, nonexistent customer service, and insistence on in-person cancellations, regardless of a customer’s circumstances. The company’s rigid and inaccessible cancellation policy appears to be designed to trap customers into continuing to pay, regardless of their intention to cancel.

It is worth noting that while Crunch Fitness is happy to sign members up online or via phone, it conveniently does not allow cancellations through those same channels. This inconsistency is deeply concerning and, in my opinion, predatory.

I am formally requesting the immediate cancellation of all memberships associated with my account.

Desired outcome: For them not to financially go after my kids financially and to shut down their accounts.

Crunch Fitness Charging after cancellation

Hello,

I would like to start off by letting you know that my philosophy is similar to that of “you catch more flies with honey”. I am extremely respectful and have been so patient with the people I have been contacting, but after months of disrespect and lack of help I can no longer stick to this philosophy. I know that the error I am going to tell you about is by my specific gym, but it is being backed by corporate due to a lack of truth on my gyms side. I feel like contacting news or social media is just about the only step left I can take.

I called to cancel my training and my membership in February because I was told my only kidney was failing. I specifically requested to have both canceled and they said that because it is due to health circumstances I was able to send in health documentation and that they would cancel both for me. My gym Channelside Tampa continued to charge me for the training for months. I called numerous times asking for help and for a refund and was never contacted back. Not a single time. I have call logs and email proof of multiple attempts to have this handled.

I called again today where I was told that corporate kicked back the request for a refund because I did not fill out cancellation forms in person. The gym is not giving all of the information to corporate because it makes them look bad. The narrative given by Channelside is that all I had to do was come in and sign a cancellation form or sign one and email it back. When in reality, I was told that it would be handled over the phone for me. There was no mention of an emailed form. If they wanted me to email a form would they not have sent it to me? I know you can check records, and I never received a form. Actually, the manager today even stated “I know this is the first you’re hearing about this”.

The person I spoke to very specifically told me that if I sent in health documentation that I was okay not to come in. I would clearly rather be brought in to sign paperwork or e-sign an email instead of being charged hundreds of dollars. When I spoke to the managers they said that it’s my fault for not signing the paperwork in person, despite being told that for special circumstances I did not need to come in. One of the people I spoke to said that whoever helped me originally was new and so he probably didn’t know. So they did take responsibility for it just momentarily until they realized that they may be in trouble for making a mistake. That is not my fault or responsibility that they didn’t properly train a new staff member.

The manager on duty today for the training told me that if I want to complain I can go ahead and tell people I’m mad because I “didn’t sign the document I was supposed to”, putting that blame on me. I do not appreciate being gas lit or blamed for an error on their side.

It is evident that I spoke to someone requesting to cancel or why would I have sent in the health documentation that they have on file? I would not have known send that without being told by someone working there. It is sad that they are unable to take responsibility for an error made by them.

I will 100% be reaching out to local news as well as leaving very detailed reviews on all review sites, and creating a video about this if I do not receive a refund. Social media is very powerful these days. I am aware this is not your fault, but is the fault of a staff member at this specific location, but it seems like the only way I can be heard. I can’t imagine that stealing from a person in kidney failure and then blaming her for their error will go over well with anyone. My family and I discussed this and my parents are willing to contact a lawyer, because they probably have done and will continue to do this to others.

This could have been handled by someone just saying “oh sorry we gave you bad information” and refunding me. I know that’s the company makes more than enough to repay me for an error. However, I do NOT have enough money because all my money is going to doctor bills. I can barely afford my rent because I can barely work due to my illness. This shows a great lack of humanity.

Please please please just help me get a refund. I am going through more than enough on my own without adding this in the mix. I really just want my money back so I can pay my bills. There was no reason this had to go so far.

Crunch Fitness Predatory business tactics

Supposedly, my payments were not going through. I don't know why, my other automatic payments were going through no problem.

Instead of notifying me that I had an outstanding bill, they sat quietly while for the last 6 months as my $33 monthly fee PLUS $25 a month in late fees added up. A 66% late fee is disgusting.

I only found out that I had an outstanding bill because I happened to open a "we miss you" type email. That is the only whiff of an issue I had in the last 6 months. I checked through my emails. Not one. No phone calls or texts. Nothing.

I am disabled. I am on a limited income. I kept my membership because I am still hoping that I'll be able to regain my abilities. I have not been to the gym in almost a year. If I every am able to walk normally again, I will be looking elsewhere for a gym that doesn't take advantage of people with sneaky and disgusting business tactics

Desired outcome: Cancellation of membership (my understanding is I can't cancel my membership until I pay the large bill) and reversal of ALL fees

Hey, definitely reach out to Crunch Fitness and explain the situation—especially the lack of notifications. You might be able to negotiate the fees down since you weren’t informed. Also, keep an eye on your bank statements regularly to catch these issues early. If you're not satisfied with their response, it might be time to find a gym that aligns better with your needs and values. Good luck!

Crunch Fitness Membership

I have paid for a corporate membership with Crunch for more than four years and spent more than $10,000. I’ve checked into the gym 2000 times in many locations that had zero issues up until last week. A young white blonde haired girl was extremely disrespectful, put her finger in my face and spoke down to me like she was my mother. I told her she needed to learn some respect, and I walked away from her while she was speaking. She proceeded to cancel my membership as well as that of all of my employees with zero regard accuse me of a racial slur, which I don’t even understand how you could say, a racial slur to a white, blonde haired, blue eyed girl. Then cancel my membership with no word, and no one at the club will speak to me totally pushed me out with zero proof.

Claimed loss: Loss of my membership, as well as that of four other employees. Defamation of my character with accusations that are untrue with no proof or foundation of evidence.

Desired outcome: I want my membership refunded as well as the annual fee that I paid. And I really want the girl Alexa to face consequences. I would like to sue this gym if possible but I don’t even know where to begin.

Crunch Fitness Membership fee

How is this legal? my boys joined Johnny's gym, 7 months later they closed the doors with no communication. We had know idea Crunch bought Johnny’s now Crunch has sent both boys to collections for not paying a the monthly membership fee for Johnny’ s gym! contract should have been breached by degrading the service I signed up for. Crunch was a 24/7 gym Crunch is not. The fact that we had no idea they could be going to Crunch gym after the closer of Johnny would of been nice to know since they are charging me for the month fee since September of 2023. This makes no sense. I ended up paying this fee to Crunch and I don't think it's right. I should of been notified since I'm the one that signed the contract for the boys( minors at time of sign up) no communication that we even owed them money just straight to collections.

This is a scam.

This is terrible that both my kids credit before they even have a chance is manipulated for something that should no have been able to happen. I know this has happened to a lot of other people & Crunch fitness does nothing to help you they just ignore you.

Crunch Fitness Charged after membership canceled

My daughter has been trying to cancel her membership at crunch fitness for the past five months. She has taken time off her work schedule to go in three separate times to work with Josh Noel. This is an addition to phone calls and emails.. Nothing has been resolved. Josh noel is blaming it on a software company. My daughter said that she would just cancel the payment on the card. Josh, Noel told her not to do that or it would send her to collections. Her credit card/my credit card was just charged again today. She has not been credited back for October November, December, January, February. She does not have the time or the money to keep up with this charade. If they cannot get it figured out with a software company then they need to take the money out of their drawer and fix the problem with the software company on their own time.

I believe that crunch fitness owes her an apology for the lack of concern to follow up and make sure that this situation was taken care of. The overcharges need to be refunded immediately. Since this situation has drug on for five months, since management has not shown the initiative to follow through with their job on canceling the membership and since she has had to spend time on the phone, time emailing and three separate trips back to the store specifically to work with Josh Noel, I think some compensation should be given to her for crunch fitnesses poor business practices and wasting hours of her time and money.

Did your daughter ever get this taken care of? I am currently going through the same thing with the company. I am still being charged $140 every two weeks for personal training session that I cancelled in February.

Crunch Fitness Staff - bullying

Hi,

I have complained about a staff member before, he’s a greying Brazilian man who is behind the counter as I walk in,

Today as I was leaving the gym he said “ Go away to me”

As I was doing my workout he was standing across from me with a woman who he was showing around, I don’t know what he said to her, but they both where looking at me and she looked shocked and said “ I’m not saying that to him!”

This is typical of him when he shows new people around, it’s obvious he hates me for some reason,

I asked the last time that I complained that none of the staff talk to me because their words are hateful towards me, instead of a hello, I get a “leave”

You understand?

Can you find out why they hate me so much and find a way to end it please

I joined as a guest menber my wife as the campagn was for her to receive a gift card, my membership sales person was Cynthia miliici, when i asked her she told me she does not have any information. This is breach of our contract and herby I request a termination of my membership with full refund. I wiol be contacting the Florida department of Agriculture regarding this transaction.

Crunch Fitness Staff at the counter

I recently had to complain about two male staff members that have been psychologically bullying me, one was a tall black man and the other was a greying Brazilian man,

The tall black man stopped immediately, but the greying Brazilian man didn’t stop at all and has continued with enthusiasm, every time I walk past the counter when he is the, he talks about me leaving and says to the other staff members who are women “tell him to go away”

It’s really annoying and is very unhealthy, toxic to be precise,

Is there any way you can get him to leave me alone? I’m just trying to stay in shape, I’m also no bother to anyone

Desired outcome: I want the staff members to stop hating me and to just leave me alone, not even talk to me, their words are poison
