file update
Back in April I had received a new credit card and within the week of receiving the new card I called and changed all of the information with Crunch in Tonawanda. They said I was all set. In July I get another email and call saying my account was past due. I told them I could see the money coming out of my account on my statements, then I was told I was all set and again I verified my card info, phone number, address etc and I was told I was all set. August 30th I get another email saying that my account is passed due and now I owe August and September with fees from being past due. I called today to see what was going on ( I've been in Canada for the past month) and they still had my old card on file. I am absolutely annoyed with all the time I spent updating my information etc to just get charged for fees that are not my fault. Highly considering cancelling the membership I've had for 5 years and taking my business elsewhere.
gym
They stole $158 from me. I'm very upset. I cancelled my membership in July. July 9 I sent a email to Chris. He told me over the phone just send a email. I did and the reason why I was canceling my membership. I didn't have a ride to go up there. This fitness is and Ridgeland MS. My membership was 29.95. Tell me why are they taking $83.95 $44.95. That same month they took $83.95 they took $29.95. This is how they make their money. They steal from ppl. I hate I join if I can tell the world just to put them out of business I would. My bank statements don't add up if your membership is $29.95. I didn't sign up for nun else. If anything the lie about being trusted. Yes I will be showing this to ppl.
disputing charges for personal training that never happened
Attention: Member Services
I am re sending this email because i am not sure if you received it. We would like some resolution to this unfair situation that Crunch Fitness North Charleston as put us in.
My daughter Victoria Fischer
was a member of the Crunch Fitness gym at 7800 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, SC 29406. She just turned 18 and is not aware of signing a contract that she couldn't get out of. She informed the trainer on site that she did not want to do the training sessions and the trainer told her he would take care of it. Well we just found out she has been charged 90.00 each month the last 5 months. She never went to a session except the free one.
My husband and I have been in contact with the location and the GM Angel who hung up on him. My daughter did not understand exactly what a contract meant and we feel she was taken advantage of. She also is not working and just left for college in another state.
So we would appreciate you helping us with this matter to have the fees dropped. Please let us know the that this matter is resolved.
Please contact us by phone [protected].
Sincerely,
Shawn and Andrea Fischer
getting charged when I am no longer a member
My account was cancelled a year ago and today I was charged $69.80. I spoke with a manager named Michael and said he was going to send an email but that hasn't solved my problem. This is not the first time I get charged even after I cancelled my membership. I need to be refunded my money back as soon as possible. I am married, work full time, and going to school, I do not appreciate my time being wasted.
Same problem here I canceled over a year ago and they are saying no record of that and are refusing to refund me
my account went to collections
I purchased service at Crunch in Murrieta, CA. I received a new debit card and did not realize that Crunch was trying to take out the fees every month. I paid the account in full today, but can you please fix this and have the courtesy to contact your customers when you have a problem with payment. My payments were taken out automatically and it was very upsetting to find that there had been a problem and it had went to collections.
fraudulent billing!
Hello,
I signed up with your gym at CA, el cajon, Parkway. ID: SD049471 for a 1 month membership. I told the employee that I don't want recurring billing, I don't want automatic renewal, and I don't want my debit card saved int their records. I just wanted a 1 month membership that I might or might not renew. and she assured me that I will be paying MANUALLY, or the membership will be canceled.
After 1 month, I stopped going to the gym because I'm going through a bad financial situation and can't afford it.
Then, when I checked my bank account this month I realized that the gym was billing me monthly, without my knowledge, or permission. I received no mail or email or billing notification of any sort, they've just been quietly draining the membership feee from my bank account and I only found out about it because they too a $66 fee this month that caused my account to overdraft and suffer $35 overdraft fee!
I sent 2 emails to them through your website, demanding a refund and canceling the membership, but no one answered!
I went to the gym today and they basically told me that "it's your fault for signing up with us in the first place" and she threatened that unless I sign more papers to cancel the membership then she will keep billing me!
I contacted your billing department by phone, and she repeated the same thing, telling me that it's my fault, I will keep getting billed for a membership I don't want and I don't use, I should expect no refund, she will not cancel my membership, and that I must go back to the gym to sign those papers or they will keep billing me!
So, basically, once you show Crunch your card, that's it? They will continue to prey on it?
That membership was supposed to be paid for manually. My debit card should not have been stored and I specifically told them that.
I want the membership canceled.
And I want the unjust fees they charged me refunded ($21.95 + $66.90).
And I have contacted my bank to stop any future billing.
service and product s
Hi there.. I joined crunch fitness cause I thought it was nice and clean.. obviously the one I got in is not.
2216 Rockdale, Sydney, Australia.
Everyday a different machine is broken and to fix it usually the customers must to wait at least 3 weeks(when we are lucky).. the floor is always dirty, other customer use to have a work out with no towel and with dirty clothes from their own job.. that's disgusting.. I submitted to the personnel all I mentioned above, but in 1 year nothing changed.. I hope you can do something about it..
Thank you
gym membership
I started my gym membership a few months ago and ive only been one time. I have been charged my 2nd fee on July 30th, 2018 I expected to be charged again around august 30th. I called to inform the main street location that i wouldnt have the funds until the 2nd week of september, and ask could I change my due date and/or make an arrangement. I was tild that it should be fine I would just need to talk to a manager when I arrived. When I arrived I immediately went to speak with a manager to address the situation. After I explained I was rudely told what my balance was and how many day late I was and that I would not be able to use the gym until the annual fee and monthly fee was paid. When my guess explaind that we were told that we would still be able to come in, over the phone. She told him that my balance is 8 days past due. I dont believe that my balance and the past due amount should have be explained in front of an audience because I explained the situation prior to her outburst. I did not get either of the managers names because I was embarrassed and rushed to leave. The purpose of me calling first was to avoid the embarrassment.

cleanliness
Love this location but for how new the place is, the gym is disgusting! It looks like there are a decent amount of staff but the locker rooms are filthy with trash and dirt on the ground. The tanning booths are never swept and I doubt wiped down either. The walls are covered with stains and the equipment is dirty too. I hope this information can be relayed to the right person to get this gym cleaned properly. I hate to see it go downhill already.
music at crunch in florence, kentucky
The overall music at Crunch in Florence, Kentucky has changed since I signed up. Originally, the music played was high-energy. Now, hard rock/heavy metal is played constantly. I have asked several times for the music station to be changed but I am told they cannot change the music or dont know how. I had to give my notice of cancellation because quite frankly, the music ruins my vibe when I walk-in. In addition to the music, it is obvious it has also drawn a new caliber of weightlifters. There is much more harsh energy, dropping of weights, and less females. I dont think I am the only one turned off by this new musical direction the club has taken. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.
customer service
I recently signed up with Crunch located at 4130 Douglas Blvd. Granite Bay, CA
I've been very excited about my new membership and have attended a few of the awesome classes provided there. However, my last visit was today 8/28/18. I went in around 6:15pm because I wanted to attend the 6:30pm yoga sculpt class. When I arrived I scanned my key card and began to walk to the restroom. The lady working behind the desk, Jessica, yelled out to me, "Wait!" so I curiously walked back to the front and said "Yes?". Jessica spoke to me in a very rude tone and said "You're account is red, I can't have you in here". I was a little confused so I asked her what she meant by that and she said "It looks like you missed your payment a few days ago". To which I said okay as she did not really explain what the options were at that point. Jessica stared at me and continued with her extremely rude attitude towards me and said "Unless you pay me right now I can't let you workout today". I was surprised at this response and let her know that I actually had a case of fraudulent charges on my debit card and was in the process of waiting for a new card in the mail & that I wouldn't be able to pay right at that moment. She rolled her eyes at me and smirked and then told me I would have to leave. I asked nicely to please use the restroom as I was still holding it since driving all the way to the gym. She got louder in her tone of voice and continued to laugh and said "NO I CAN NOT HAVE YOU IN HERE". I looked around and other employees behind the desk were watching and also laughing at my interaction with Jessica, I felt extremely embarrassed and pretty hurt by this. I asked her again and pleaded that maybe if I let her hold my keys and ID that she could let me use the restroom really quickly. Rolling her eyes for about the fifth time during our conversation, she said "Fine". I'm very shocked that one of your employees would treat me this way, after I signed up to be a member of the gym I wasn't treated as such. I felt she discriminated against me and made a joke of me in front of her coworkers and had no regard for my feelings or my situation. She did not try to work with me and explain my options, and she was very rude and short with me making me feel uncomfortable and that I didn't belong in a gym like this and that I should cancel my membership.
no uppercut bag
I live in Santa Maria CA & am part of the crunch fitness here in the mall. We have a wonderful assortment of heavy bags (4 total) but lately my body (or more like biceps) have been craving releasing the cardio energy thru the motion of an uppercut.. I live in a place that has no more space.. If u could please 🙏 replace 1 of the heavy for an uppercut bag I'm sure nobody would mind, rather be pretty stoked about it. Thank u 💋
hiring
A month ago I got 2 interviews for personal training at crunch in Citrus Heights, 1 was with the fitness director Randy and another one was with the manager rosel! Everything was going well I filled out the background checks and was told, I would revive it in 5-7 business days! It's been 4 weeks already and she didn't bother even calling and letting me know my status! I would call in every week and she would tell me the same thing that my background check haven't come in yet and corporate is not responding! Now today I called in just to get a rejection letter from them so I can get a refund for my certificate! She reuse to give me it and claims she sent me an email a week ago about orientation I never got that email and I even asked maybe she enterd it wrong, I asked her to please spell the email out calmly and she said I don't want to argue and stop raising ur voice at me, when I was being very respectful! She declined to write me a letter claiming that I just don't want to be hired when I never even got an email or a phone call! Please contact me about my situation I just want my rejection letter!
customer service/membership services
I am writing in regard to a collection notice I received about my account being in default. I attempted to cancel my membership in April 2018. I have been dealing with a significant injury that has not allowed me to utilize my membership in quite some time. The last correspondence I received from either corporate or my local branch was on April 7, 2018 indicating I would receive further contact regarding my cancellation request. I never did. That is until a few days ago when I received a letter from a collection agency stating my account was in default and I owe $99.96.
I just phoned the local branch and was told I have been in default since March 2018 and there are late fees and penalties because I did not come in and fill out the paperwork in person.
I never received any notice via postal mail, phone, nor email that my account was in default. I never received any sort of instructions that I had to fill out paperwork in order to cancel my membership. I have heard nothing from anyone in the organization.
The manager of my local branch informed me that my account shows it has been cancelled. She also informed me that she would waive late fees but I still owe $159.
How and why should I be responsible for fees and payments I knew nothing about? And how did $99.96 turn into $159.00. And if my account is supposedly cancelled as I was told, WHY AM I STILL ACCRUING MONTHLY CHARGES?
I wrote initially stating financial hardship as part of the reason for cancelling. And nobody ever followed up. I certainly cannot afford this mess of a situation.
I have held a membership with them for close to 10 years, beginning with World Gym, and for a good portion of that time my membership went paid for and not utilized due to my ongoing back issues. I never complained about shelling out money for the times I could not use the gym, I just paid my bill. I shouldn't have to pay an exorbitant amount of additional money just to be released from their stranglehold. Especially when the organization has done nothing to instill any faith of good customer service or care for its patrons. They couldn't even follow up an email. And now my credit is in jeopardy because this company lacks communication skills? I won't have it.
To say I am unhappy is an understatement.
overcharged
I signed my daughter up In February for the $9.95 membership, they have been charging me for a more expensive membership 21.45. Then I was billed twice this month with $15 late fees attached. I called yesterday to cancel my membership before they processed the payment that was billed to me today . I was told that I had to come in to cancel my membership to stop the payment from going through. But I was at work all day yesterday and all afternoon today . While I was at work the payment processed with late fees and I was told the payment stands even though I had tried to take care of this issue yesterday! So I've been over charged since February, my daughter only went to the gym two times. Candace the manager at the store was completely rude and was of no help. Also there was a gentleman right behind me waiting to see a manager for the same exact reason... so I'm NOT the only one who was taken advantage of!
charged after cancelled membership
I will not check my spelling. I am very mad. I cancelled my membership back on July 13, got a confirmation email on july 15, on july 29 I was charged twice, one for $25 and one for $50. AND THEN! On aug something I got charged an additional $32. All of this was AFTER receiving a dang confirmation email that my membership has been cancelled. I contacted crunch ASAP to let them know what was happening and they told me I had to go through the email. I emailed two weeks ago with them saying someone would be in contact 3-5 business days! And yep, you guessed it, still no call! I need my money refunded and I don't even know how to do that because they way I was told to do it obviously isn't working!
Unauthorized repeat withdrawals from checking account
Over the past 8 days Crunch fitness has withdrawn $126.24 from my checking account. I am supposed to be on the Military plan. $10.00 per month. When I go into local crunch in Sarasota, Fl the smart aleck young kid laughs, tries to give me some BS story. I strongly recommend that people do not do use Crunch and definitely do not give them your banking information. I have been in Crunch numerous times when people are at the Service desk complaining about the same type of unauthorized charges.

Crunch fitness on glenside drive in Richmond VA
It has been an unfortunate series of events to say the least and definitely disrupted my day. My issue is with the general manager at Crunch Glenside.
I originally was not speaking to him.
When I called in the first time I was speaking with another associate, who was trying to figure out why the associate did not follow through with the freeze on my husband's account, done last week! This is when I heard a male voice in the background say, "just hang up, " and to my disbelief I was hung up on by the associate. I called back and another man answered the phone. I said, may I speak to # and he said to me, "No this is #." I said # just told me that you were on vacation and he did not know when you would be back. He then proceeded to tell me his employee was "mistaken" (and I am willing to say he was probably standing next to him the whole time and was the one who instructed him to hang up on me.)
From this point on the conversation went downhill. The GM was very combative and disrespectful with me from the beginning. He said things to me that no GM at any business should say. I felt he was trying to bully me and was being very misogynistic towards me.
He would not provide me with any information on how/who I could express my concerns to regarding our exchange. He stated that he owned the gym and was basically the alpha and omega and told me "good luck." I have never been so insulted and disrespected by anyone. I was so upset!
The issue I have now, is a personal attack situation towards me from this GM. As a human being and as amanager he did not conduct himself appropriately. Even after our last conversation, he emailed me with a notice saying I was banned from Crunch fitness! Instead of trying to peacefully resolve the issue, he is still trying to bully me. He never once APOLOGIZED for the way the account was mis handled, for his employee lying to me/hanging up on me and then for getting on the phone with me and being so disrespectful. This is not something I expect from any business, let alone from a growing fitness brand.
cleanliness
The women's locker room/restroom is consistently filthy at the Nampa, ID location. There has been fecal matter on the wall of one of the changing stalls for over a week now, and today when I went it, there was a used sanitary pad on the floor... just out in the open.
The toilet paper is constantly all over the floors, and the lockers never function properly. When I have told the staff, the answer I usually hear is "there are no females on staff to take care of that right now".
Overall, I'm becoming more and more agreeable to the idea of switching gyms. Yuck.
no hot water
For the past two weeks there is no hot water in the building . My self and many others depending on the hot water to take showers in the morning. Due to the fact that i have to go to work right after i work out. This is un acceptable and they should not be operating without hot water. I have informed several staff members about issue and every day they say that a plumber is coming to address issue . If they are not going to fix the hot water then they should refund every member back their fees until hot water is restored .
