Whirlpool leaking washer under warranty

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer with a 4 year extended warranty in March 2013. It started leaking from the bottom front in October 2014. They have been out 9 times, replaced the water valve, bleach dispenser, detergent dispenser, tub ring twice, and tub. And guess what...it leaks to point that it cannot be used at all! In fact, it has ruined the floor from all the water damaged for the past 5 months. The tech that came out the first 6 times refused to come out again because lowes is not paying him. This needs to be fixed!

Whirlpool No help and the warranty turned to be useless

I bought washing machine from the company www.whirlpool.com. It was real scam, ‘coz the quality was really bad. The washing machine stopped to work after 4 months, but I had the warranty. When I called to the customer services, they told me that this warranty was completely useless and they couldn’t help me. I wonder if there are people, who faced the same problem? I really need help or any useful advice. Please, post your comments and ideas. Thanks.

Whirlpool defective product

My Whirlpool hot water heater is only 2-3 years old. I've had a plumber come to take out the anode rod. The man can't get the thing to budge! This plumber called Whirlpool, who admitted, that there is a problem with the anode rod. I feel Whirlpool should, either replace the water heater or pay for it to be fixed. I'm on a limited income and can't afford the payments a plumber charges. I have received a paper for a law suit against Whirlpool for the gas dryers, which I have. I wish I had researched Whirlpool products beforehand. I am so angry that they don't stand behind their defective products, which is surely bad for business. I would like to know what I, as a consumer, can do to right this wrong. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Whirlpool a/c central unit

Whirlpool was notified that a Central Air conditioning unit caught fire and was destroyed. The unit was less than 3 years old and due to a lack of paperwork the warranty was not honored. This was understandable. The unit did not catch fire from lightening or power surge. It has been reported to the government agencies that handle problems such as this. The whirlpool corp., the distributor, and the installers have all refused to produce paperwork so this unit can be identified and have said that they destroyed the unit and therefore it cannot be Traced. Should this unit still be in use by other homeowners there is a risk it could catch fire and burn down the home it is installed in resulting in the deaths of the occupants.

Whirlpool refrig

Purchased a $900 refrig, it broke 1yr & 1 week
later. I fought to have this fixed since
its out of the warranty period. After having to take off time of work for
repair people to come the repair guy made a disaster finally after much arguing
I received a new refrig same model. Well
that last about a year & 1 1/2 then it started leaking underneath. I CAN'T use the icemaker or the water feature
which I paid extra to have. What a piece of Junk. The people at whirlpool
l will just say did you purchase a warranty? YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO HAVE IT FIX WHEN ITS
ONLY 2 YRS OLD! They are so greedy,
they make junk so that you spend more money on repairs or extended warranties. Whirlpool owners & mgrs see how you feel
when it happens to you. KARMA. I will tell as many people as I can to stay away
from Whirlpool, I will never purchase their products again.

Them to fix it at no charge! They should be liable I think a $900 refrig that is Hardly used should last longer than a year and companies like that should stand by their product a lot longer than a year. Especially for large appliances. Companies need to be held accountable more. Its not right

I don't follow your logic? If the warranty is for 1 year and you feel that it should be longer then don't buy the item.
In addition, $900 for a refridgerator with a ice maker is CHEAP... I see them going for MUCH more.

But my problem is not resolved till date(even after 12 days)
Whenever I make a call to know the status, they ask for more time.
I am sorry to say that I am very much disappointed with your product, service and moreover the behaviour of your staff.

Whirlpool refrigerator

Bought a Side by Side Frig from Sears in Oct 2013. The first sign of problem was in Feb 2 014, the seal on the Frig part wore through the bottom and because I travel I was not able to get a repair person out til June. But by May the Ice machine in the Freezer door was freezing up and not working. The repair guy came out and showed me that I had to rinse it out when it freezes up.
About 2 weeks later the whole thing froze to the point that the water was just poring out of the opening. So I called Whirlpool again and they sent a much BETTER repair team out. The tech showed me what was going on and told me basically these types of Freezer Ice makers are terrible and know for these issues. He said that I should empty my ice into a container and wipe the inside out once a week to help lesson and condensation that could cause a freeze up.
I called Whirlpool and told them that I did not pay this kind of money out to have to put up with maintenance on my own frig that I should not have to do, they need to just give me a cheaper or different model. This is their response
"If the tech did not call us and go through the issues, and see if they are repairable we will not replace it:
I call the company and told them what Whirlpool said, they replied "well we ordered a door", I said "Yes a refrigerator door, not a Freezer
< and that is not the problem!" So I guess I out of luck!

Whirlpool defective product

We have been renovating for the past number of years and we started building a second floor laundry room 2 years ago(along w. other simultaneous projects). We bought a brand-new Amana 7300 Tandem H.E dryer December 2012 from Home Depot, and then it's partner washer in March of 2014. The weekend of July12, 2014, we completed the laundry and installed our brand new appliances(neither had been opened or even taken out of their packaging). The washer worked fine, but the dryer never worked. It started and then turned off after 3 seconds, and would repeat this.We knew that it was probably the motor being defective from the get-go, as we trouble-shot every other option. We knew calling the company would be a waste of time, so we called a repairman who confirmed the motor was shot.$150 for the new motor to replace the new motor and 150 for labour. He actually suggested we call the company as it was obviously a brand new machine that had not been tested properly, and had been sent out w. this flawed part.I asked the company to send out their own repairman to confirm it hadn't been used and then perhaps they could provide a new(working) motor and we would pay for the install. They simply quoted their one year warranty and that was that.I would never recommend any Whirlpool appliance, and will never buy their products again. It might be past its warranty period, but if it is properly made, it should be able to sit in its box for 10 years and still work when set up (even if out-dated). Ironically, we are now using our 25 year-old dryer which works fine.(thankfully not a Whirlpool). So much for meeting the customer halfway with an obviously defective dryer. Poor quality and obviously not tested properly at the factory.

Whirlpool wont honor %10 price match

So Home Depot has a policy that they will match a competitors price PLUS beat it by %10. When I live chatted with them they said they could issue a store credit for the %10 difference but to get the price lowered I'd have to go to the store, so off I went to the Home Depot in Honesdale PA. They said they would match the price but not honor the %10 because it's not an "in stock" item. When I asked which refrigerators were in stock they said they all have to be ordered. So that pretty much rules out all large appliances.

So they were going to offer store credit online but the manager in store wouldn't lower the price at all and seemed like he couldn't care less about the sale. He just walks up, says the sales associate already told me they won't offer the %10 differance and thats that. I said OK I'll just go to Lowes in which he says "OK, bye." and walks away. That store manager should be fired or put in a position to not deal with customers, a real piece of work he was.

I opened up a Lowes account and purchased through them for $300 cheaper than canceled my Home Depot credit card.

Whirlpool awful company

I don't usually write reviews and the like but this company was the worst I have ever dealt with. I have been waiting for five weeks for fridge to be repaired after paying for the service. They wouldn't even schedule an appointment until we paid. Then they put me off repeatedly and still haven't repaired it yet. The people you talk to on the phone don't know how to do anything except tell you can have a tech. Come out in a week, over and over. When the tech came, he couldn't do anything and said he had to order parts. Another week went by. The.parts were shipped to me at my home but the last one didn't arrive on time. Again we were put off for another date. When the part came in after four weeks of no fridge, they tried to push off for another month. When I complained they offered a week. Just terrible. I could have saved myself the aggravation and bought a new fridge for the money of take out, damaged food, gas to restaurants, electricity to run two mini fridges, just to keep some milk, etc. On hand, and the money lost bypassing three days of work to wait for the techs who don't know how to fix the appliances. This company is awful!

Whirlpool washer mhwe500vw11

Code F35 errors since second month of use. Machine just turned 4 years. Replaced Code F35 part 12 times now at $230 a visit from A&E factory service. Phoned Whirpool, now the demand I pay for a different contractor to bring me the same defective remodeled part that only last a few washes then breaks again...A&E replaced that same part three times the past week, what is the new contractor going to do differently mr CEO of Whirpool? Machine is also molding, we have never closed the door always open. Why don't we not deserve a replacement? Is it too much to ask?

So after I emailed the address above I received a phone call to inform me that my machine is out of warranty and that Whirlpool cannot do anything.

This means We paid for a refurbished part which does not work. A&E Factory service installed 3 the past week, machine not working. They want me to pay for the original part now (much more expensive) without deducting the money I already paid for parts that has never worked?

The original part works for about 2 months, had those replaced twice already by Whirlpool while machine was under warranty also paying for that labor. I requested then that machine should be replaced, but no, Whirlpool said is an exception that the part broke while under warranty, won't happen again. It did happen again, just after one year, part replaced again.

So why should we be willing to pay for a machine that never had a proper working part from the beginning? The design is faulty. Replacement parts don't work, we have been replacing for four years now!

Now we Must pay again so that another company can come (Quinco, ) to try and install the same part that A&E tried to install 3 x in the last week before Whirlpool will log the complaint in their system...It is their requirement to log the issue plus we have to pay for it.

The original and refurbished does not even work long enough so that I can sell the machine on eBay and buy another one. Do not buy these machines not now not Second hand EVER. You will spend more on the repairs than the actual purchase price in less than 4 years!

I have the exact thing happening as the original complaint. I have replaced the APS 8 times and it still does not go past the F35. Maytag/Whirlpool has removed the manuals offline and have made new replacement part #'s for this unit... in fact this is the email I sent to maytag_digital@maytag.com

"We purchased a Maytag 5000 Steam Washer and Dryer pair less than 5 years ago. The steam feature was an important one, as our youngest child is medically fragile and we no real reason for his continual respiratory failure, thus we steam each and every article in our home...which of course has led to this HUGE frustration with this washer unit. In the less than 5 years that I have owned this unit, I have replaced the Analog Pressure Switch 8 times (3 times in the past 6 months) at the tune of approx $104 each time, (total $832). I also only use HE detergent, and only 1/2 a tsp. at a time, this is also due to the nature of our child's medical condition, so I know that it is NOT a detergent overuse issue. Not only have I had to replace the part, but I have also had to wait weeks on end for the part to be available...today is my last straw. After replacing the switch for the 8th time, it still continually goes from F21, SUD to F35... CCU is good as is the steam unit, the drain trap is cleaned once a month.. it just seems that I have a LEMON and I cannot afford to keep throwing $$ away on this unit! I am reaching out to your company for a remedy, can you agree that it is a LEMON and replace it so that I can clean my families laundry in peace. Our dryer works as beautifully as the day we bought it...the washer, however, has never worked properly... Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

SSgt Robert and Meredith Eckard

Whirlpool cracking shelves

I have the same shelf issue with my Whirlpool refrigerator model ED2KHAXVB00. I have 3 cracked plastic shelves with no issue to the glass. Shelves appear to have been produced with poor engineered plastic resin. Apparently the resin does not contain the correct chemical makeup for cold temperatures. Manufacturers should always use a weatherable polymer that meets certain specifications for all appliance parts. Resin exposed to cold can lead to many quality issues including brittle parts which crack easily. It's clear to see that the shelves in these Whirlpool refrigerators have major crack issues. Obviously, the manufacture of these parts failed to test properly for these effects and have sold poor quality parts. I will be contacting Whirlpool for further discussion.

I am experiencing the same problem with all my shelves cracking on the Whirlpool Model ED2KHAXVB00. My middle lunchmeat drawer has now fall because all the supports have cracked and fallen off. Is there any resolution to this matter. It's extremely frustrating and I would never purchase another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool poor service

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from the Brick within a very short amount of time that the washing machine was installed I started getting error codes. I called for service with Transglobal Services and was told that he needed to replace the Washing Machine Clamp he went to the local hardware store and change the clamp making it leak more. I live in a apartment and can not afford to continue going this way. When I speak to customer service at the Brick I have been receiving the run around. WHY WHY Why do I have to deal with this and Why is Whirlpool paying people who should not be fixing my machine. AT THIS POINT I AM GOING TO PURCHASE ANOTHER MACHINE.

Whirlpool faulty glass lid

We bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washer (model # WTW7800XW0) in March 2011, which has a see-through glass lid. After about 12 months of usage, the part of the plastic lid frame that connects with the right hinge of the machine broke.

I called Lowes, where I bought the machine from, and was told the machine is out of the 12 month warranty and I would have to pay for the repair. Knowing that the plastic frame is being connected to a metal hinge and it is not going last another year even if I paid for a new plastic framed lid. So, I tried to put a metal reinforcement on where the plastic frame broke, and this helped for another year or so. But the plastic frame still bends around the the metal reinforcement and it has got worse recently.

I did some research online and noticed other people are having the same issue. After contacting Whirlpool with no help offered, this customer posted his complaint here and it seems that someone from Whirlpool came through and fixed the machine for him at no cost to him. I called Whirlpool today and was told I have to pay for the repair. I guess I am going through that customer's story but hope it does not end here.

This is clearly a design problem and the plastic frame is not strong enough to withstand hundreds or thousands of opening/closing around the hinge area.Whirlpool needs to issue a recall, if ever they have one, on this part and help their customer fix the problem.

Whirlpool poor service

Don't buy a kenmore washing machine (Top of the line) if you want it to last more than 4 years!
In less that 4 years I am told my barely used washing machine needs a new motor control board which costs $489 and another $200 to install!
Sears does not seem to feel they are responsible for selling a machine with such poor service.
After paying $110 for a service call the technician told me that parts for the motor board are not sold and that the entire motor board needs to be replaced! If I paid another $700 maybe it would last another 4 years!
Stay away from sears products. They are not what they used to be!

Bought Kenmore Elite front loading washer and matching dryer in Oct 08, bought pedestels, 3 year warranty, all the bells and whistles.
Thought this would be the last washer/dryer I would buy as I was in my early 60's. In Oct of 13 we started getting and error message on the washer, SUD, and then F35. Called Sears repair service and they were there within a few days. Service agent pulls top off of the machine and says we need a new module to fix it. The cost was around $400, but wait there is more. The part is back ordered from Whirlpool for 4-5 weeks. So we paid for the part and have been waiting for 31 days for it's arrival. Service agent also said there are 4 or 5 more modules that can go out. Sears service dept called last week to reschedule the prearranged service call since the part has not shown up. I asked them where the part was or at least an update for the ETA of the part. They had no idea when it would arrive. So, we bought another washing machine, an inexpensive GE, so at least we can have clean clothes. We were tired of going to our adult children's house to do laundry. After the part does arrive and the machine is working we will sell them to some unsuspecting sucker and then buy a GE dryer to match. Moral of the story is no more Kenmore or Whirlpool appliances in our house.

Whirlpool dishwasher & garbage disposal

We bought a new construction house with Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working with in the warranty period, so Whirlpool offered to replace it with a similar model. After two months without a dishwasher, they finally offer to replace with a KitchenAid dishwasher. They could get us the first one they offered after two more weeks so they offer any model from their KitchenAid line. After 18 months of it working respectably, the top rack falls out. In April of 2012, the axles on the rack adjuster rot, become brittle and break off. I called Whirlpool and they say it’s my problem, they will send me new rack adjuster for a low cost of approx. $70.00, which I reluctantly pay. Then 18 more months go by and here we go again, they will send me the same defective parts for a 50% discount which will still cost me close to $50.00. The part number; Rack Adjuster W10350376. In addition our Whirlpool garbage disposal failed after less than 4 years. Waiting for the oven to c*** out know.
