Our verdict: With Walgreens's very poor resolution rate, careful consideration is needed. Research their service comprehensively, and read up on how they handle customer disputes. People who post here have no interst in reading anything good about anybody or anything. I think in most cases they cause their own problems with their nasty attitudes.

I have been going to Walgreens, WalMarts and many other stores for decades and have NEVER had any of these problems.

I enjoy going to Walgreen.

Where on this website is a place to brag about our local Walgreen's store? This is set up for all negetive reports.

I live in Sulphur, LA 70663. I get the BEST service every time I go Into the store. I use both local stores in town.

You need to know that the Store on Beglis Parkway has the nicest people in the photography and ink refill area. I go so often, they now know me by my first name. They are so very knowledgeable about their products.

I also use the store on Cities Service Hwy, or Hwy 108 is how I think you have it online. Never as busy as the one 0n Beglis, but always very helpful and someone always asks if I need help finding something.

You should let these people know that not all information is complaints.

Sincerely,

Clara Colvin

I usually purchase 2 to 4 small items, , , do not like the eternal plastic white bags
I always put stuff in a backpack, , , register person has stuff in a bag before I can tender money, wish wg would make room at counter to place a bag, slow down a bit, ask cst "do you wish to use your own bag? plastic bags and wrappers are carelessly tossed by
customers upon leaving the store, ending up blown and tangled up in trees, in curb mud puddles, everywhere, , , ALL retailers and food joints, fast food places contribute to this problem

Walgreens rip off

I ordered triad insoles. they said they came in packages of 1 or 2. I ordered 3 packages of 2 expecting 6 pairs. I received only 3 pairs. When i questioned them they said i got 1 right and 1 left in a package. Duh! all over the counter insoles come in pairs. Further i paid almost $10.00 a pair plus shipping. I have since found them in most stores for $4.50 +/- a pair. when I complained and they gave em this ridiculous answer i was appalled. i thought they were a reputable company. Wrong! save your money do not buy anything on the Internet from them.

Walgreens personal space

i been employed at walgreens for over a year and a half almost two tears and i always done the resets and the revisions even when nobody else will do them i took it upon myself to them because it made my work week go quicker. But on sept, 14 2009 i was ask to help on a toy revision that a manager had started on friday sept 11, 2009 and had only completed only 6 ft of the 24 or i think 27 ft i couldn't beleive that this person dtarted on friday and work on it saturday and sunday and only did 6ft. so when my store manager ask me to help i did even though i had other resets to do. in the pass after i do the resets i will mark down the things with a telxon and put the reduce price on them, will that's what i did with the toys apparently while i was on bfreak i purchase some items that i mark down and was tooken back while i was on lunch i came back and ask why was the things tooken and they said this was still a new item will how and i suppose to know what toy is new and old when i scan it with the telxon and it saids it can be mark down i was always going by what the managers said mark it down 75 percent better to get some money then no money. it just made me feel like they were watching me when they had no reason to like i saiid i been resets and revisions for almost 2 years with no problems it made me feel like i didn't belong with the walgreens team and they are finding different wats to replace all the african american people it just not right now i'm up at 3 am angry that i can't sleep over this mess. sincerly angry employee.

Your manager don't know what he or she doing as well as your DM, MVP, SVP, EVP, CEO. The Whole system went blined. Walgreens was a good (great) company when the great CEO like Chuck and Dan ran the company. Then everything went down ever since Dave took a job. Now It's a big joke. Even Kelvin can't stand the xxx. What a Joke Jeff, What a Joke Greg, What A Joke Mark. Wake Up Boys.

Walgreens prescriptions

Im not sure if the pharmacy department of this particular Walgreens is to blame...or if it's the manufacturer / distributor but... For 2 consecutive months when I went to pick up a prescription, I was shorted.

I understand that they can't replace the drug that is missing because it is a narcotic. What I dont understand is their lazy a$$ed attitude about it. Someone somewhere is getting a narcotic that they arent prescribed...and that they didnt pay for and NO one seems too concerned about it.

I know what they're thinking...it's a narcotic and Im just trying to get more etc.

NO one but me touched this med from the time of purchase until the time I discovered they'd been tampered with so it didnt happen while in my possession.

I closely inspected the packaging of both prescriptions to ensure the packaging was not or had not been tampered with. Im just not sure if someone in the pharmacy is really good at concealing what they've done, or if this happened even before it got to the pharmacy.

BUT...I think it's a screw that I..and my insurance is paying for something Im not receiving.

I just wish more could be done.

walgreens is a joke, i quit walgreens 2yrs ago but since walmart is just as bad, i went back to walgreens to give them another try, well, all differant people working at our walgreens so we thiught maybe thats good things will be done right, ''not'', i dropped off a prescription on the 24th, only received part of script, thats fine, so i had to drive 50 miles to doctor becuz walgreens doesnt fill the other half, so i drive back with new script and walgreens says my full script will be ready on the 9th of next month which is today, well they not only didnt order my script they had none in stock, , ha, so i told him he was a sorry fool, and i went to a family owned pharmacy down the road, they gave me a half script, and said they would give me the balance once it came in, they also said they can do a 24 hr order fill, rather than me going to get another script, its 10 bucks more but well worth the service, walgreens, pfft never again, nothing has changed there, do your self a favor go to a family owned pharmacy,

what I would do the next time I picked up my script..before they try and hand your meds to you..you can ask for them to be recounted infront of you...because once they have touched your hands they are no longer liable..I always have mine recounted because(accidents) can happen...good luck

why take methadone and percocet together? methadone is a opoid blocker and the percocet isnt doing anything but getting your body addicted to it and u dont need that cause no matter what the methadone is a drug that is long lasting and stays in your system for up to three days and when your ready to get off the methadone your going to have a hard time cause everyone does, im very educated on this methadone thing, i go to the clinic, so your body is going to go threw withdraw from methadone and percocet so your best bet would to be to drop the percocet and wing down to the lowest dose of methadone u can...if something would happen to that doctor, ur not going to just find any doc to wing you off or even give them to you so seriously think about the furture here..

Well Dennis, you do have to understand that these people in the pharmacy see people like you (on strong narcotics) coming in on a daily basis claiming they were shorted their pills. Don't eat them all in one day and you won't be "shorted" lol... And being on such strong drugs as methadone AND percocet I do not see WHY IN THE WORLD you would post your address for all to see! That is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, you are ASKING to be robbed! And then you really won't have your meds! And what kind of doctor is prescribing you methadone AND percocet together?

This happened to my nephew with his Adderal XR. His Rx was written for 60 pills. He came over to my house after picking this prescription up and gave it to me. I always hold it for him so that none of his room mates steal it. So he gives me the bottle. And right away I notice that it is a small Rx bottle and not the larger size that 60 capsules will fit in. (my daughter gets the same RX for 60 and it always comes in a larger bottle.) So immediately I asked him if he had a 2nd bottle of the medication. He said NO that was all they gave him. I had opened the stapled bag so I knew he was not lying. I called the Walgreen's Pharmacy, Spoke with one of the girls in the Pharmacy. She tells me I will have to call back tomorrow that the Pharmacy Manager is gone for the weekend. I said that was unacceptable, that this was a criminal matter is it was not settled within the remainder of the day! I also told her I was coming down there now and hung up. I went to Walgreen's (within 5 minutes). I spoke with the Pharmacy manager that was on for the evening. She said that we would have to wait until her shift was over, and at that time they would do a controlled substance count. I told her that was not acceptable and if they did not find out what happened to the remaining 30 Adderal XR, I would call the Police and I am sure they could settle this, with the end result being someone getting arrested. This Manager was not happy with my ultimatum. However, she went and did a quick count of the Adderal in stock. ( at least that is what she said she did?) She returned with the remainder of the Adderal and apologized for the misunderstanding. I personally think someone in the pharmacy stole the 30 Adderal and thought because my nephew was not an older adult... he was 19 at the time. That they could get away with stealing this drug and he wouldn't do any thing about it. Considering most young adults hate any contact with the police, especially when it comes to drugs like Adderal. This person in the pharmacy never expected someone that knows the law to come down and demand the return of this controlled medication. If you use this pharmacy again, open your package before you leave and count the medication yourself. If it is short, you should call the police immediately, then show the open package to the pharmacist and tell them it is short, and that you have called the police. Because you know someone there has been shorting you on your controlled medication and now you can prove it. And you know the police will be very interested in this problem. I am sure the Pharmacist will give you what is missing. But wait for the police so that an investigation can be done. The people that work in pharmacies are humans like you and I. They are just as susceptible to abusing or becoming addicted to drugs. I do hope this information helps and that you are able to settle this matter.

Walgreens awful place

This is a store that needs to be carefully monitored. On several occasions, my wife who suffers from Alzheimer's has been verbally abused, her prescriptions not filled, laughed at, and humiliated. The last instance occurred when she was trying to get her prescriptions filled, and the pharmacy refused, unless she could tell them all the medications she was taking. Of course she could not, because of her condition. So the Manager/Pharmacist refused by leaning over the counter, as my wife was too sick to stand, and was sitting on the floor, and laughed at her.

I am a health care advocate and have been for several years. On each occasion that the abuse occurred, I have either spoken to the pharmacist personally or by phone. On each occasion they have promised to correct the situation, only to commit the same or similar offense shortly afterward.

I'm writing this to try to prevent this form of abuse from happening to other chronically ill patients.

I am sorry for you. I have my own nightmare with Walgreen's. They are the absolute worst company out and clueless as to what is going on.

I have just reported them for INSURANCE FRAUD. They continue to bill for items that should not be billing for.

Take your business anywhere else.

I would not wish a Walgreens experience on anyone. Walgreens "The Pharmacy you Trust". NOT HARDLY!

Why don't you go to the location WITH your wife. I mean if she's having this much trouble with them, go with her then especially with this situation where she was too sick to stand! You might be a health care advocate but your certainly not helping your wife out much. Next time, be with her, or even better let her go get her meds and stand a ways away so you can see if the pharmacist is mean to her or not. Bring a camera, so then you'll have proof!

Walgreens - would not fill a refill

This is the second time this has happened in the last 6 months. Tonight I tried to pick my class 3 controlled substance 2 days early. It's a refill. Insurance would not pay until tomorrow which was only 3 hours away. I asked if they would run it on my secondary insurance since I was there and picking up another script they told me no. So I said I would pay...

Walgreens pharmacy harassment

Our problems continue to be with customer service and demeanor from the pharmacy end of walgreens. My mom has terminal medical conditions and suffers immense pain 24 hrs a day for years until recently the last year. My mom's new doc had worked for 2 yrs to find a pain control regiment that works for best quality of life and it works well with minimal side effects. It consists of very large mg doses of narcotic pain meds and something like 3 different kinds for instant relief, extended relief for bedtime and breakthrough pain.

The doc prefers she use only walgreens to fill meds and many times she is judged and harassed by pharmacists, lied to on two occasions and today the pharmacist flat out refused the monthly refill. The guy took it upon himself to decide that my mom does not need her refill this month since she has other pain meds. The guy even said that she has too many pain meds and he; who has never even met her, doesnt know her illness or anything about her... alters her doctor's prescription regiment after years of trying so many other treatments and meds. the current regiment would not be in place if it wasn't needed or if there was some other method or if my mom and her doc hadnt exhuasted all other means.

The pharmacist told us that he would give her one day supply until he contactcs her doc who isnt in for two more days. He actually told my mom she didnt need the refill and I told him the script is lagit and has been for some time and we always fill it there. The man said there is no since arguing (as if we were) that she go home and he will call her doc to verify why she needs so many meds and he sternly said not to call him either just to wait for his call. Upon our efforts to complain about past harassment, i learned that walgreens policy is that all prescription fills are at the discression of the individual pharmacist so they are allowed to refuse for any reason.

Further, the pharmacist filled a one day supply yet printed on the label that he filled the full quantity over 200 pills so we called to tell him knowing the importance of medication label accuracy and the guy said it was no problems and makes no difference and hung up on my mom.

We have complained to the doc before about walgreens but the doc really preferred we stay with them but this next vist we are going to demand a new pharmacy on the pain contract.

As far as i know, a pharmacist is not a medical doctor and has never treated my mom for her illness. I do not understand how he or any pharmacist has any right to make adjustments my mom's treatments. We are tired of her being humiliated almost every time she gets her meds just because they are pain meds and she gets 15 other scripts from them as a huge revenue source they are about to loose but dont seem to care.

This pharmacist was the pharmacy manager so we will start by talking to the store manager after she gets her meds. Anyone know of another source to file a complaint about bad customer service knowing we cant dispute the decision not to fill a script.

I have used Walgreens each month for years to fill my prescription for pain meds. But today I experienced the worst customer service I have ever seen at a pharmacy. When I refill my meds, I give them legitimate scripts from a legitimate doctor, my valid drivers license, and I am in good standing in their database. But today all of a sudden, they needed to call the doctor. They could not get through, and left a message to call them back. I then call the doctor, and get through immediately. They tell me they are not allowed to call Walgreens, but are available to answer their call now. I relay this information to the pharmacy, and ask that they call now. I sit there for another 2 hours and find out they have done nothing. They see me sitting there, they know what I need, they know why I am waiting, but simply don't care. Keep in mind, this was at 10am and not at all busy. I believe this to be specifically a Walgreens issue, and will never go there again.

Walgreens register rewards problems

I don't know what's up with these stores or their employees. Well long story short, it always seems like the employees don't know how the Regiser Rewards work. Today I went in, and I had a RR for $4. I was purchasing Listerine for $4. The cashier didn't even try to scan my RR, he said he didn't think it would work and handed it back to me. I had to ask him if he could just try to scan it. He then asked the other cashiers first. the asst. mgr was there, and he just had this stupid blank look on his face. Then another cashier said it should work as long as you purchase at least the amount of the RR. he scanned it and it worked. I don't know why they are always so difficult there. I usually don't shop at Walgreens, but each time I have been there (different locations) there is always some sort of issue. Train your employees!

You hit the nail on the head. The root of most of Walgreen's problems falls back to a huge lack of training. Walgreens expects an unreasonable amount of tasks to be accomplished with few employees and this results in no time ever for anything. Training-no time, figure it out somehow. Customers-no time, solve the problem yourself. I have been written up and forced to sign my write up to a mistake that I unknowingly made because I had terrible training. Any employee able to compensate for the horrible training should be praised to high heaven.

"Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?" Perhaps because Walgreen's ISN'T paying the customer - the Register Reward the OP is referring to is the same as a Manufacturer Coupon. The manufacturer is the one that creates the Register Reward at Walgreen's. Register Rewards are a STORE CREDIT for a previous purchase you made. I spent the money up front to by soda, for example, and the program was I buy all the soda UP FRONT (aka paid all the money to Walgreen's) and the soda manufacturer had a promotion to give me a $5 store credit for my next purchase - aka Register Reward. So to answer the question, "Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?" Perhaps STUPID employees that can't think for themselves or understand BASIC math, logic and reasoning should stop making STUPID comments about customers that CAN.

I hear the fair is hiring to tear tickets SCmn. Oh, it is moments like these I do wish the evolutionary theory of survival of the fittest was possible...

Maybe stupid customers should stop taking advantage of register rewards. Customers use register rewards to get items that will print out a register rewards. So sometimes customers get items for NEGATIVE $3.00. Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?

Walgreens being fired for being disabled

I worked for Walgreens for over 5 years. When an old injury started making it hard for me to work I wanted to put a doctors note in my file saying that I could not crawl, climb ladders or lift over 15 pounds. When I said this my manager threatened to fire me. They knew my physical condition but would not give me 'reasonable' accomadations. So after a short time the asst-managers to cover their own mistakes lied about my work and with out even talking to me my manager fired me. This is a company that says that it hires disabled people and is a work friendly company to work for! WRONG! Then after all of that at the last hour they could have said something about me getting unemployment they filed a complaint. They lied, I have it in writting, but still won and I have to pay back all the unemployment I received. THIS COMPANY AND THIS MANAGEMENT TEAM DISTROYED MY LIFE!

Walgreens passport photo

Walgreens does not allow you to print your own passport picture -they scan all the pictures that you take and removes the passport pictures so that you can pay the ### $8.99 for two pictures.

The Champaign location on Green St is particularly notorious -this being campus town they think they can fleece students at there will for passport pictures, very rude staff and inconsiderate.

Worst passport photo experience ever, they use a cheep pocket size camera to take your passport photos, only one shot in a dark not lighted corner of the store, also they charge 10-20 % more than professional shops.

I had a problem with a Walgreens in Fremont, CA (Paseo Padre & Mowry). I came there 3 times about the same order and every time there was a different problem preventing the order from being fulfilled properly. After wasting my time they gave me a refund. I don't think they are legally allowed to sensor the client's content but just were instructed to screw up orders like mine. Funny that my document photos were not even for passport.

Im not sure why they would not just print the picture. I used to be the photo manager at a Walgreens. In my opinion you could print the passport image if you wanted to, and if it was not the right dimensions( head size, background color and so on) that would be your problem. They should have just let you print it, and told you the specifications just in case. Although from what ive seen, a lot has changed since i left Walgreens 3+ years ago.

Walgreens unfair dismissal

my name is Deana Aleman I worked with Walgreens for almost 2 years. Durring most of the two years i feel like i have been treated unfairly & crule. I am a single mom with a son who has special needs. When i was first hired on I told management that i could only close on Fridays due to his sleep apnea. The first PIC worked around that for me & i worked every Friday night. The new PIC & sr tech keep giving me attitue & tellling me that is not fair to the other employees. I brought a medical excuse form his doctor & still got attitude & rude remarks from them. I have been having problems with them for over a year. I have gone to management, & district mgr & even loss prevention, with still no help. The district mgr told me there was nothing he could do due to the fact they begged her to take the PIC position. Loss prevention did an investigation in which she did not speak to other employees & pharmasist whom have witnessed the treatment in which i was received. lp told me that she was told by the Pic, sr tech, & store mgr that they didn't like me. She said that there wasn't any specific thing just that they didn't like me. I have been trying to get transferred to another store for at least three months. They were only giving me anywhere from 5 to 10 hrs a week, so i had to go to other stores for hrs. They would not sign off on the transfer. I felt as if they were trying to get me to quit or find a reason to fire me . Their reason for firing me was that they said i didn't get along with the other employees. Also that i sold a rx to the wrong customer on 7-3-09 but i wasn't told of the incident till a week later 7-09-09. There was never a writeup or stars incident done for this event. I asked mgr to show me the video of the incident, but he would not show me. I have called corporate several times sinnce 7-9-09 & have not had anyone call me back, eventhough i was told someone would contact me within 48 hrs. There are several pharmist & other employees that witnessed the mistreatment i received. When the names were given to district they refussed to talk to these people. I feel managent both at store level & district just ignored any of the people that would speak in my behalf. Due to the fact that they did not want to upset the PIC or Sr tech at that time. Any time i tried to talk to someone about what was going on it was twisted around to come back as if it was my fault. I feel that an investigation into this will show that i was unjustly terrminated. If some of the pharmasist & employees & customers were talked to it will come into the open that i was not at fault. All i have wanted was for them to sign off on my transfer to another store. I enjoyed working the company & its customers all i want is my job back so i can provide a life for my son.

my name is pamela shoulders and i worked for walgreens for almost six years. in the six years that i have been there i have had five diffrent store managers. i was just terminated today and feel that i was terminated because somebody didnt like me. i belive this because with the first three store managers i never had one write up for customer complaints in four years. we got a new male store manager about a year ago and i had six customer complaints from customers who have said that they had prpoblems with me every time they shopped there i felt that this was wrong because if they had a problem with me every time they shopped there than why did they all of a suddan decide this store manager was better to complain too. this store manager was transfered to another area store and we got a new store manger about a week before halloween and i thought the complaints and the write ups would stop because i had changed and felt that i was happier and alot nicer not that i hadnt been before but these same customers still complained and said that they had problems with me all the time. i feel somebody at the store or company level didnt want me there anymore because it seems kind of strange that nobody from district or even the first three managers ever got a complaint then all of a suddan i have 10 write ups in a year for customer complaints. something just doesnt add up to me.

Walgreens ms freshour

Ms. Terry Freshour, terminated me under her own personal vendetta against me. She has prior complaints about this type of behavior and no one wants to address this. I was terminated because of a holloween costume. The cashier marked the costume down to the same price as the second one i was buying at the same time. They had seventy five percent off signs up. I even made her walk me to the costums and she pointed to the adult costums. I asked to review the tapes and they said no. They would not let me prove my casse. this has had a bad affect on my life and my self esteem to know that you can get fired from a job just because the manager says so. I know alot of other managers how would say in my defense that i was a good worker. She had only been with that perticular store for three weeks. If any one can give advice on what to do. My heart just wont let me let in go because, this wasn't right. HELP ME PLEASE

Walgreens untrained workers

I called and spoke to the technicam Rose Mary for refills to be told that there were none. In a very rude manner stated I needed to call my doctor for refills. Now in the past they would send a fax so why not today. I have a home in Florida and New Jersey, I knew I had a new script and available refills. So I called the Florida Walgreens to find out I did have refills. I was given the refill number and was able to get it filled. But it took me calling Florida to find out I had refills! Walgreens says there system is universal then how in the world is it that this employee couldn't find my refills. Now I've been going to this Walgreens since they open and she has been working there. I have yet to have an easy transaction with her. She has no knowledge of what she's doing and guess what that's begining to scare me. Thanks to this and other situations I am now looking for a new pharmacy.

Do you work for Walgreens mgtab? I do and if a pharm tech can't find refills in the store file, it's mandatory to check in the central file. I'm sure this tech's store isn't the only store around. Common sense is NOT to blame the customer but to check everything before making asine remarks.

To Counter your complant, If you have prescriptions at both walgreens she didn't know to check the centralized system for the new prescription with refills if you didn't tell her to. So that is your error not hers. The file at her store would have told her you didn't have any because she would have had to transfer it from the other store. I'm sure in your arrogant rage you didn't mention that

Walgreens - employee relations

My Husband and I both worked for Walgreens at different locations. They say they are a family oriented buisness. This is not true. My husband was staying at home with our kids and he called in because my youngest son was sick. Instead of them telling him they understand and take care of him they told him he better come into work now or they would repremand...

Walgreens inconvenience and poor customer service

On 5/22 my ex called me to say that he was out of Josh's prescription due to dropping them in the gravel at his moms house. He asked that I try to get more before he was to go on vacation with the kids. I called the doctors office and they agreed to write a new one even though it was a little to early to get it. This prescription is a narcotic. It's used to help with his asperger's. On 5/22 Between 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. I dropped a prescription off for my son Josh Meadows. 5/22 at around 6:30 I received a call saying that I couldn't get my prescription filled and they would call when it could be. I was a little concerned and called Walgreens back. At first they said that I would just need to wait until closer to the date I needed it because it was to early to get my prescription. They suggested I call back around 5/27. I waited and called in again. This time they told me that Josh's doctor would have to call in saying that it was ok to fill the prescription since it was a little early for filling. I called Josh's doctor and she called in to Walgreens. Walgreens called me back and told me that Cigna would pay for the prescription since it was still to early to fill. I decided to wait until June 4 to get it so insurance would pay. When I called Walgreens back they told me they lost the prescription, but was still looking for it. They said I would have to get another one from the doctor if they could not find it. I was told that the pharmacy manager would call me if they could not find the prescription. I never got a call and it's now June 5. I called around 9 this morning to see if I could pick up the prescription. They said that they never found it and that they called my doctor to let them know I needed a new prescription form. I called the doctors office and no one from Walgreens ever called them. I had to call back to Walgreens to have some one place a call into the doctors office. I have to leave work early today so that I can pick up this prescription again. I am very upset that they are not concerned that maybe an employee took it. I am getting talking to Cigna today to make sure I don't get billed for the missing prescription. Walgreens acted as if they did nothing wrong and that it was my fault. They even said that it looked like the dad picked up the prescription. I know for a fact that did not happen. So that makes me wonder if the staff there can be trusted. I may be changing to CVS or Rite-Aid.

Walgreens cashier walked away

I was in the check out line and the employee, a very young boy, looks at his watch and says "Oh No, I need to be outa here, he paged another employee and started to walk away ..I asked him whats up? He replied that he had returns and had to leave at 9:30 (it was 9:12), about ten minutes past, then I heard voices. The young kid yelled to someone that there were customer's in line.An older man stated loudly"then ring them out !" the young guy said he need to leave and the older guy said loudly "you don't just leave, you wait until I get there" the younger guy said "No I gotto go at 9:30. The older guy yelled "its not even 9:30. Then an older guy about fifty or so showed up and rang everyone out and apologized. I think the older guy should not have have been so hard on the kid. I told him he was a idiot. Yes the kid was irresponsible but there was nothing that the manager could really do about it. I also think the kid was very young and didn't know any better. He was about 16 or so.

9:12 is not ten minutes past. It's 12 minutes past. Actually, there was plenty the manager could do. He could give the kid a write-up or fire him. Managers are in charge of the cashiers. They can do stuff.

I am unsure what the loud conversation mean, but it sounds like the manager was concerned about customer service and being responsible. You state that the manager apologized . There was no threats or name calling toward the employee. The employee just walked away from customers . I think if I were manager, I would have said a bit more to the cashier. I do not think the manager was an idiot at all.

Walgreens employee benefits

Walgreens sent out their benefits update for May 2009. In big letters it said “Combining Good Business Practices with Caring for Our People”, which would lead you to believe they are going to improve employee benefits. Instead it was about how they are taking away employees retirement medical and prescription drug plans. This will not just affect people who have just started but many who have been with Walgreen’s for years. People who had been promised these benefits are now having them taken away. One of the comments in the paper was, “Our goal is to reallocate our money to provide benefits to the greatest number of individuals at Walgreens.” Does that mean the CEO, board members, and the upper levels or management?! Hey Walgreens for a business that promotes families you do a really bad job for your employees!

Walgreen's is a big evil company owned by Mormons and doesn't care about people AT ALL. i will love the day that this company falls. my spouse is employed for this company as an ASM and they drag her to the point where she cant even function at home. I hate Walgreen's and she will be quitting soon. she is also apart of a class action lawsuit against this evil company because they constantly work their formally known EX-As past 44 hours without any compensation on a regular basis. she used to be proud of working for this company when "the Walgreen's family" actually owned it because the core values were uplifted and everyone was happy. now that he is dead and the Mormons own it, its all about a dollar and nothing else. The SMs and DMs are blood thirsty agents doing the dirty work (slave driving) for a falsely concerned corporate. Yeah, they have an anonymous employee hot-line but it doesn't do any good when they turn around and notify the person being complained on and tell them who did the complaining. This just sets a person up for retaliation. Ive never seen such evilness except in politics. I have one question Walgreen's. Why the hell are you forcing the topped out EX-As/ASMs out the door and keeping the SMs who really don't do a damn thing and make the most in the store? STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! my wife has never had performance issues in her entire Walgreen's career, now all of a sudden she does.what a way to do someone who used to bleed Walgreen's! OH wow, you may win the battle, but you you will never win the war. I am devoting my self to getting the word out about this company on every website that i can post on, every newspaper that will hear, and every contact i have (and i have millions). the only way to stop these people is to boycott them and force them out of the united states. it may have started as a decent company but its a hell bent sweat shop today. stay away from this company!

I agree with this. Walgreens was very selfish with benefits that were given to me while I worked as a third shift cashier making little more than min. wages. I slept in my car for 3 days so I would not miss work because the snow was so bad I could not get home and then back to work, and do you think management appricated me. NO! When I had 3 days of vacation due me management tried to steal it from me because they would not let me take the days I was owed and I even tried to ask for them on the days the manager Mr Slentz told me I had to take them. Then when I got really bad sick and had to be out of work and then my husband had a very bad accident(in the burn crital care unit for 8 days) management was worse. They implied that I was putting on (blood pressure was 220/144) and that my husband get hurt on purpose so I would have to be out of work. When I went to management and told them that my doctor told me that i needed to get off night shift before it killed me, it took 4 weeks for management to even try to move me to a different shift and still was going to make me work another 8 straight 10 hour nights and still made excuses that management could not find anyone to do my shift I had to let Walgreens have it because my health and life was more important than making them money!Really a family orinted business and concerned about the health of their employees...Talk about the new campain they have to make their employees healither...That is a lie and a joke.

I hate working for walgreens. This company does not care about the well being of anybody except themselves. The corporate portion of walgreens, along with some store managers only care about getting work done with the least amount of people (thanks for burning us out!), They want so much work done in a unrealistic amount of time and man power. Work the top bays!, All bays in one shift by your self . This company better wake up or a lot of employees will be leaving when the economy gets better, oh, but thats probably what you want, apparently it only takes 3 people to run a store. GOOD LUCK! you have got to wonder if Wasson and the other powers that be could live off what we the at store level shmuck make...Think about it we are doing their suggestive sale their fundraising and what do we get in return? a poor paying job, cut insurance that still fattens the higher ups pockets stress from the customers wondering why we can't remember all the coupons and sale since there are WAY TOO MANY. One item can be on three different sales and they must each have their tag. I wish for a month they could come to work as a store level and and NOT be known for being a higher up...and get the crap dished on them...then maybe they would re-consider some of their decisions...I know...the bottom line is GET THE MONEY...but geesh...It used to be a great company. But here of late...they seem awfully GREEDY.

Walgreens -- all I can say is "Rewire for Growth" is the equavilant to "Rewire for FAILURE". Corporate is clueless and it is clear and I wonder what "Walgreens" family thinks of the tabacole of the "New Walgreens". Geez it use to the "Pharmacy America Trusts". They certainly cannot state that anymore. How many jobs have they outsourced to INDIA and the PHILLIPINES (or are going to = 800 American Jobs LEAVING). So I guess this is why the new slogan is "Theres AWAY". Which should further read "There's A Way - FAR AWAY from WALGREENS". So sad!

I think it was sent to the DM's and discussed between them and the store managers. I was told about it from a good friend, which was later confirmed by my store manager (independently). Apparently corporate knows that the way they handled things was a screw up! It makes me wonder about what exactly went on when Mr. Walgreens walked in and quit. Due to corporate's response to his sudden retirement, one get's the idea that he wasn't very happy about the way things were changing. Now they are trying to promote these changes to us (in good light). They must think we are idiots. How insulting! Welcome to Walgreens!

I am in complete agreement. This is just setting the stage for more changes to come. The plan is to have the most senior employees "retire" so the imediate cost of benefits is reduced. I have been employed for 17 years and I am very dissatisfied with the company I used to constantly praise. The way the company has treated is employees is totally contrary to it's core belief system. Just a recent example of there inappropiate decision making is the way they desided to announce reducing the assistant managers hours being cut. There mistake was eventually recognized, by a little know e-mail that admitted there mistake. Just wait Walgreens employee's the great company we once were is slowly breaking down. As for the management staff, be on the look out for more changes to come. Pharmacists should be observent as well, the new POWER system they are installing now means FEWER pharmacists necessary to run the every day operation. This is another example of core beliefs down the drain. For those who have been around for awhile do you remember, "Nobody waits, " well now they have desided to change that too. They surveyed and discovered that a waiting customers is a small portion of there buisness so now they believe the one pharmacist will be able to F4, fill, counsel, etc. without the help of additional staff. WELCOME TO WALGREENS!

Walgreens Rude Pharmacy Tech

A Pharmacy Tech named Harris was the rudest individual I have ever encountered at a walgreens after telling me that this location was committing insurance fraud (yes he actually said that) he told me he would have to get back to me about my medication. I'm over 60 and need daily medication so I'm left out in the cold, confused about what in the world to do next...
