I've been recieving so many mails regarding Hotel jobs Sheraton, Marriott and they asked me my details regarding my phonenumber, name address and age, ID Proofs do u think it's genuine and if it is just a fake Appoitments than what sort of action should be taken against these persons who misuse peoples innocense.i need to find who these guys are and want them to be punished or put behind the bars, so if u have any details regarding this plz make sure u provide me with necessary information .

Marriott International bad service

I went to mariott in egypt cairo zamalik and i was asking for the prices of the rooms so the bell man and his maneger his name is hamdey tarek stoped me in the lobby to ask me about the egyptain president speach this happened on the 1 february 2011 11:30 pm so i refuse to anwser this question so they kept on asking me repeditly so i told him it was the same speech that he gave 2 days ago so the bell man shouted at me and the told me to get the *** out of the hotel puls he was waving at me as if he was going to hit me and all this situation happened infront of his manger mr hamdey tarah the bell man captin so i asked for the maneger 1000 times they told me there isn`t and when i told them i will send a complain on this situation the bell man and the captain bell man were lauthing to my face and they didn`t care, , , , , , this is not accepted at all to happen in the marriot the 5 stars hotel

I happened to be vacationing at jw Marriott in Orlando at a conference . My server senia from banquets was so rude and denied me a cup of coffee. And to top it all off she couldn't communicate with me. What kind of people works there someone check it out!

Marriott International racial sterotyping

I had an incident when i was in the process of purchasing an Presidential suite for an New years eve party on the 31 st of december.I was approached by security and asked to leave because i fit an description;i aksed him what did he mean and told him i was a paying customer.He then stated he had to call the police a few times on someone that look like me;i let him know i knew he was lying because i had been going there the last few days to make sure i'm getting a good deal for $1200.00 plus tax of my hard earned money.When i ask to speak to a manager he started yelling trying to make a scene saying he was calling the atlanta police dept;i told him to go ahead because i wasn't leaving until he got me a manager;of course he didn't call the police or get me an manager.Then i was approached by the head of security named rick who stated he was the manager, boldly lying to my face because he had forgotten i had talk to him previously about the suite and the sales team.He promptly begged me not to make an complaint saying he would lose his job.I expressed how upset i was to be stereotyped as an trouble making thug that "Fit the description"...The political way of saying i don't belong there.I'm an Young actor who just shot an film in atlanta called "Dangerous Friends" for B.Curry productions.I'm filming again in january for a new movie also;I can afford a measley $1200.00 plus tax to have a good time with friends and family.I will be Filing a law suit A.S.A.P...I will also let the media and my celebrity friends know about the incident.I'm seeking full compensation for this embarrassing incident.My fone number is [protected]/[protected].I couldn't believe how security approached me in front of these guest.I'm a four year veteran of the U.S. Army and don't appreciate these freaking cowards who would not server there country treating my like a lower class criminal type.I will seek compensation;no matter what i have to do;I'm 5'9 and stand tall.

Marriott International poor customer service

I just want people to know that the Marriott in deerfield has such terrible customer service. The room rates are expensive, the hotel was dead, and i could not get housekeeping to bring me an extra towel to save my life. I had to call the desk three times and one hr later(i'm already showered) a man finally comes up to the room. What a joke the worst service ever. I also went to the breakfast that i paid for and was completely ignored because i had three kids with me. I have never had such poor service at a hotel. This hotel should consider themseleves lucky to have people spend over 135$ a night for a suite.I was so appauled and told the front desk girl about my experience, and she could not care a less. wow so beware all a nd spend your money elsewhere! If you do decide to go to this hotel, i reccommend that you bring your own towels and don't dare bother the front desk for anything...don't stay here!

the marriott customer service stinks

Where to start: I have never made a complaint in 35 years of and in the last 15 years of traveling 40% of the time for my job, but I need to do so now. I am currently in the Marriott in Zurich paying 640CHF (642USD) per night for a premium room (not a suite, but slightly larger than the standard room). To start off we came to the hotel and were given the keys and only then were told there would be some construction in the hotel. We asked why we were told just then and not when booking and received no reply. We asked about another room further from construction because we have 14month child and she needs to take naps during the day and they could not come up with a better room. I or my husband make over 30 nights in Marriott hotels per year because we can get a free night here or there for vacations using the points. Well to begin with the room was very cramped. I went to order room service and the cheapest item on the menu was the 36USD burger. The cheapest item on the kids menu was a small portion of spagetti for 19USD. So to begin with it was a very expensive week say, and the construction was not some construction as described, but it was a jackhammer being used in the room next to our room. The hallway was a mess with construction materials and hotel items like buckets, mops and all sorts of things I didnt want my child touching. I complained the 3rd day after 3 hours of non stop jack hammering and a piercing headache because my child was terrified and cranky since she could not get any sleep so she screamed at the top of her lungs for 3 straight hours. I called Myriam at the at your service desk and she kept repeating that she could not hear me and asked me to repeat myself at least 20times because of all the noise inside my room from the construction, the baby crying and my loud voice from trying to talk over it all. She finally kept repeating that there was a note in my room that neither my husband or I saw that stated that there would be construction until 630 everyday and with no end date. She never acknowledged my pleas for asprin and never offered me another room or an appology. She did after the second call offer free food for lunch at one of their restruants. Finally, I took the baby downstairs and demanded that they move me to another room. Another person helped, but promised asprin and did not deliver it for another 1.5 hours and the move of the items from one room to the other took several hours and they just threw the bags and boxes of stuff that had been neatly folded in drawers in the room. This after spending 350USD on laundering and drycleaning the day before. Finally to sum it all up the free dinner that was offered was just put on my bill and they never paid for it. It came to another 100USD that I would have never spent in this horrible hotel if I had known that it would be charged to me. Needless to say I am going to put the whole ordeal on utube and let the public decide if they would ever stay in a horrible place like this. Fair warning.

Send feedback to Marriott's customer service. The GM (or someone from the hotel) has to respond within 24 hours and make it right.

Marriott International horrible service

My brother stayed at this property October 10th 2010. I work for a Residence Inn By Marriott, therefore he would get the ''friends and family rate'' which was 269.00$. My brother got there and they charged him 299.00$ for the night, told him if he was not happy that he should leave. The next day my brother sent me an e-mail saying he was leaving the day before his departure because he didn`t like the service he got at the hotel. I called myself wondering why it was 299.00$ instead of 269.00$, the man was extremely rude to me. First thing he says to me when i was transfered was ''mm HELLO?!''. He Kept on cutting me off while i was trying to explain my situation. He asked for my name, I told him and he kept on saying ''What?, What?''. Did not even try to help or try to understand my situation. Told me if I would like to speak to the general manager, I said yes please. The man put me on hold for 20 minutes. I work in the same franchise as him, I would expect the same service I would give to my customers at my hotel and what marriott expects from us.

please help me to clarify whether it is genuine or fakeb

1.2: DATE OF RESUME:

You are requested to resume work with Grand Star Construction Group Ltd on 30/11/2013. All contracts will last for the period of 5 years and it’s liable to renew it upon the company's agreement.

2.0: JOB LOCATION:
Grand Star Construction Group Ltd. Los Angeles, US.

2.1: JOB TITLE/DESCRIPTION: (COMPUTER OPERATOR)

NATURE OF JOB: To be informed upon your arrival after getting to know your level of experience.

3.0: WORK PERIODS:
Monday to Fridays, Time: 8.00am to 5.00pm with break period between 12.00noon to 2.00pm. Expatriates are entitled to a one (1) month paid home leave.

3.1: SALARY INDICATION:
Your Monthly take-home Salary (After tax) is $12, 600.00 USD (Twelve Thousand Six Hundred Dollars) Salary can be transferred to any Bank or Country of your choice and all transfers must be made in conformity with the existing tax situation in the U.S.

3.2: ALLOWANCES:
Hazard/Inconveniences allowance, 5% of Basic salary. Entertainment allowance? 5% of Basic salary. All allowances are paid weekly and locally in US$ equivalent to the existing exchange rate.

4.0: PAID HOME LEAVE:
All expatriates are entitled to a one (1) month paid home leave, which can be taken once at a time or two (2) weeks apart one different period.
All expatriates shall be entitled to a leave allowance (in US$) of an additional 100% percent of their basic salary and free tickets to cover their home leave. No allowances on leave period.

5.0: SAFETY AND SECURITY:
Safety and Security of personnel Local/Foreign) and Facilities on Job Locations and Communities are not small issue, and have been seriously
considered to ensure and assure hitch free operations. All operations on Job Location are designed to adhere strictly to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy as applicable in the job location.

All expatriates are entitling to a free and mandatory safety courses on Job Locations to be delivered by qualified safety and environment

experts. All safety wears shall be provided by the Company at Job Locations e.g. Gloves, Shoes etc. at applicable in the job location.

6.0: MEDICAL/HEALTH SERVICE FACILITIES AND INSURANCE PLAN FOR FAMILY:
All expatriates shall be entitled to a comprehensive health care service, which are to be administered by Medical Experts on Job Locations. In a case of emergency situation, an expatriate will be flown to his home country or any country suitable for the best medical attention.

This decision can be influenced by the findings of the Company's medical experts, unless the expatriate in question states otherwise. After three (3) months of service all expatriates will be entitled to a Health Service Insurance Plan (HSIP) for family. The Health Service Insurance Plan is designed to cover only three (3) members of your family.

The Health Service Insurance Plan (HSIP) allowance can also be paid to the expatriates at the rate of 500.00US$ per family member per month
(1000.00US$ per month) which can be transferred on monthly basis without being subjected to tax.

7.0: FEEDING AND ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodation and feeding shall be provided for all expatriates by COMPANY. All cuisine (Intercontinental/Continental) will also be provided.

7.1: TRANSPORTATION:
An official vehicle shall be provided on 24 hour daily basis to all expatriate for local transportation. A round trip flight ticket to cover the span of your contract engagement will be provided and delivered to you on the completion of your relevant travel documents and Immigration particulars.

7.2: ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
Recreational/Sports Facilities shall also be made available at the disposal of all expatriates with no expenses to be incurred. Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service will also be made available to all expatriates by the company laundry and dry cleaning unit.

8.0: TELECOMMUNICATION/INTERNET FACILITIES:
There are standard telecommunication facilities and internet services at the disposal of all expatriates, and same shall be accessible to all personnel (Local/Foreign) without any charge or expenses to be incurred. Cellular Phones can be obtained by expatriates from the Local dealers/Service Providers in US, but must be used in accordance with the safety regulations on Job Locations.

9.0: FAMILY STATUS ARRANGEMENTS:
Family status arrangements can only be applied after at least three (3) months of service. The Application of family status arrangement indicates that an expatriate will be entitled to a free visa and air fare for his wife or Spouse or any other family member which is to be provided by the Company through the Traveling. Agency/Consultant. Expatriates who intend to travel with their wife/spouse within the first three (3) months of contract engagement will have the cost of visa and air fare being borne by them and can only be reimburse after three (3)months of service.

10.0: INTERVIEW:
Interview on arrival is designed to facilitate a cordial relationship between expatriates and firm as well as the organizational structure with respect to the project scope. Interviews are also designed to ascertain claims on working experiences and academic/educational qualifications, and should any claim be found wanting the affected expatriate would be deported and such done in conformity with the legal provision? Among reasons for interview on arrival is to establish expatriates area of interest considering the project scope in order to facilitate an efficient division of labor on Job Locations with respect to the organization structure.

10.2: Only expatriate who are committed with their genuine interest and ability to travel established will have their information sent to
the U.S Embassy.

11.0: CLAIMS/ENTITLEMENTS:
All expenses incurred in relation to this Job/Contract Engagement Process are liable to reimbursement within 72hours on arrival. Such expenses include cost of obtaining medical certificate, Immunization/shots in the case were an expatriate gets such service from a special or personal doctor. Cost of obtaining VISA & Job Contract Engagement papers and Traveling Documents. Cost of transportation to the embassy on the date of appointment if found satisfactorily committed.

A prove of payment in form of an official receipt will facilitates a prompt reimbursement of all claims/expenses. With respect to the expected time line of the project take-off ensure the processing of all traveling Document/immigration particulars etc. in record time.

12.0:REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES:
The Employee will incur reasonable expenses to get His/her Visa and work permit;The Company shall process Employee’s Travel ticket and reimburse Employee for the expenses after the Employee presents an itemized account of expenditures, pursuant to Company policy.

VISA/WORKING PERMIT PROCESS:
If the conditions stated above are acceptable by you.Get the necessary documents in less than 8 working days from a licensed India/American tourism group immigration department and you shall be required to furnish us with your work permit approval before (14) working days and make an official report to the Company with your International Passport copy’s Visa page to enable Grand Star Construction Group. Process your Travel ticket on your behalf.

Grand Star Construction Group Ltd. Have mandated a reliable India/American tourism group immigration department New Delhi India to assure immediate visa processing for all appointed applicant coming from China, Africa India, Pakistan and UAE round the Asia to avoid delay causes by visa processing.

guys...i also got same mail like that and ask me to contact the person who is in delhi then when i contacted him asked me to pay some pounds of money converted to 30000/- rupees.As i had lot of discussion with him paid 30000/- with his honour no need to pay further any amount.
After paid that amount the agent asked me to pay another more 1 lakh rupees as i came to know that is fake then i asked him to pay my 30000/- money back but disagree to pay.

guys be carefull about these incidents which have been happening since long years, but no one taking any action on this as i had given complaint in police station and had personal ecperience.

Just be careful, when they asked money it's 100% scam. Remember employers do not asked money from applicants especially if they asked you to send it via Western Money Union etc. Believe me, I have been victimized too...Wishing you Goodluck!

Marriott International experience

It's our 10th anniversary, so we decided to treat us a nice gateaway to J.W. Marriott at Desert Springs. I got on the phone with their 1800 reservation line and experienced a complete un-Marriott like experience. Both my husband and I are Marriot Rewards Program members and we've been with Marriott for years. So this really came to a surprise to us. The lady on the phone was rude from the beginning. She suggested that I could go online and find all the informaiton I was asking from her. When she was done making the reservations, I realized she was booking for the completely wrong dates and corrected her. She insisted that those were the dates that I told her about (well, I think I would know when MY anniversary was, not her!) and started arguing with me. When she finally corrected the reservation, I asked her to repeat the info back to me (just to make sure she wasn't messing around with my anniversary gateaway7) -- she told me to check my email and refused to repeat the info. I know that this may seem nothing to a lot of people, however I had much higher expectations from Marriott. At least over the years we always had great experiences with them. Is this just a fluke that's caused by this individual, or is Marriott going downhill? I"d like to hear from other people.

I have received two emails with hotel confirmation numbers that were not mine..both to Houston Westchase Marriott. Trying to respond to the 800 numbers took much time and then was told there was nothing they could do as the confirmation numbers were not correct. I tried contacting the Houston hotel and kept getting busy signals on both their
regular number and fax number. The numbers were correct so I can only assume this is a nationwide scam via the internet.

I also am a Gold Elite member who has complaints about Marriot and their staffing of Hotels under Marriot name. I work for a Federal Government Agency and always chose to stay in Marriot when possible. This trip our business takes us to Sierra Vista, Arizona TownePlace Suites where one they refused us Government rate but gave rate to others staying in hotel. Two we asked them to extend our reservation several days before our check-out and never received a reply either by email or by message to our rooms. Tonight after a long days work we arrive back at the TownPlace Suites in Sierra Vista, Arizona walk in past the front desk without a hello or messgae left in room. My partner thought it wise to check our extension to find they have none. Why would they not tell us till now? I have never been so frustrated with Marriot Hotels in my Career as tonight! Then they tell us to check in the morning... Well that makes for a good night sleep doesn't it? Marriot TownsPlace in Sierra Vista will never see me or the 12 other government employees that work our Team ever again! Hell I may just cut the Gold Card in peices tonight while the mood is right...

Marriott International unreasonable termination

I am writing this to complaint about my recent association with the company I was employed with and that I would not get any satisfaction anyway else I was recently employed with Fairfield Inn and suites here as a room attendent supposely I was hired full time and I had another job So I quti another job to take this one because I thought it was a good opportunity We started working in the new hotel about two weeks ago and because there was no elevater we used six flights of stairs seemingly 10 times a day I have bad knees so it was hard to do that and everyone had a hard time up the stairs also In the two weeks I was there we did mostly cleaning up after the construction workers mess And put supplies in the room to set the rooms up. We were never trained in the jobs as room attendants Today I was let go without any prior notice that this was the way they did things And was given the attitude that this the hardest job I ever had and that I did a good job But informed them that working as a CNA for 6 years was harder But of course it fell on deaf ears. I feel that if this is their practice of the way they treat employees that the public shouold be aware of this and think twice before wanting to work with them.

Marriott International theft

My daughter stayed her in July 2010 on a school trip. When she was on the bus to come home she realized she had left some of her things in her room. She called me on her cell phone then I called the hotel. They told me they had her items and needed my credit card number to ship the items. I received a pillow and pillow case that was not my daughters. I have called numerous time and they can not seem to find her things. The house keepers were the ones who said they had it. So where is the approximately $75 worth of things. The hotel management won't return my phone calls or talk to me to find my daughters things. I would highly recommend for everyone to watch out for their things if they stay here.

Marriott International pool mouse and horrible customer service

July 14 and 15th Stay

I stayed there for 3 nights, One afternoon after swimming I decided to in the heated pool.2 teens came in and started to swim as they swam for an hour one of them yelled Ohhhh S**T get out of the water. To there surprise and mine there was a dead mouse. The mouse was in the corner where I didn’t see it when i was in that same pool for the hour before. The mouse looked decayed with no hair and when you look at it, you can see the internal organs. Just the thought of eating its hair accidentally while swimming in it. I took pictures but too bad I can’t post them on here for you to see.
Anyhow so I called the front desk and at that time 5:30pm on a weekday they didn’t have a single supervisor or a manager on shift. Katherine i think was her name. So K (Katherine) came out and we showed her. Her reaction was ohh wow! She got on the Nextel and called some engineering guy/Pool guy and he came and fished the Mouse out of the water and threw it in the garbage. She could have thrown it in garbage which probably was in the back or out of the area but no, they decided to chuck it in the garbage in the pool area. The Smell was awful.
Since no managers were available and not once did the three of us got hey im sorry or we apologize. All she said was we will be ok and nothing to be worried about that the chlorine would take care of all the germs. We will have to shock the pool and pool will be closed and we can go use the pool next door.(adjacent hotel). OMG we are freaking out about what we just got in us it’s not about the pool lady! Does chlorine kill rabies? i mean that mouse was such a bad shape im sure it leaked bodily fluid and what about the hair? I mean that’s what grosses me out the most. We probably drank the hair since it was a bald mouse. I mean how many bald mice have you seen?
So to make a long story short, we never got an apology and I think they are lying about it would kill everything. I haven’t got tested yet but it’s been 2 weeks and I have been having bad headaches for the past 3 days
So in the morning, I was eating breakfast downstairs and I saw the general manager walking by.(By his badge) I asked him if I could speak to him outside and he obliged. Doug finally apologized. I mean I finally get a sorry. He also said we have nothing to worry about, which again I don’t think it’s true, also next time when I am in town give him a call and he would take care of me because of how I was treated. Don’t you think the manager should try to get in touch with the guest first rather then the customer tracking down the manager? Doug’s argument in Katherine’s defense was that she’s 17. Really 17? That’s supposed to make me feel better. Is that my fault?

UPDATE: July 31st, I had a wedding to attend in Sacramento. So I thought I call up Doug and take him up on the offer. I called and I asked front desk if any rooms available she said yes. I asked to be transferred to Doug. I asked Doug if he remembered me and he did and I told him I wanted to get a room. He response was well sir im sorry were all booked. I replied the front desk just told me there were rooms. Then he says There are 2 rooms available but I can’t comp the rooms I have to maximize revenue. That just blew my head. TALK about customer service. Way to go Marriott. And the worst part. I had no other choice to stay there that night because the venue of the wedding was right down the street. Of course I stayed out of the swimming pool.

All in all I use to love swimming or just sitting in the pool. Now, I don’t even go in. I am so grossed out by the event and getting no sympathy or apologies from the hotel
Staff was aggravating. Way to go Marriott. I expect all this from a day’s inn or a Motel 6, but not you guys. That’s why I paid 180.00 a night with Marriott Hotel. Just lost a customer. Like you guys care.

We have arrived in the hotel at 11:00 am and were told that the room is not ready for check in until after 1 p.m. but we can park our car in the garage and gave us a pin number to park the car. I have told them that we will be back around 6 or 7 p.m. to check in.
When I booked the room, the reservation clerk has told me that they have a shuttle to Metro running all the time. But I was told in the hotel that their shuttle broke down and will call me a cab and they paid for it. Which was nice.
We came back at 7 p.m. to check in and was told that they do not have our room type and will give us a king size bed room with a sofa bed. Me and my husband have two kids with us and have reserve a double bed room. I told them I have reserved a double bed room and DO NOT want a king size room because my kids should not have to sleep in the sofa bed. And when I came by at 11a.m., I have informed them that I will be back at this time.
The supervisor came over and said when rooms are reserved, room type are not a guarteed. After arguing with her, she then said I didn't reserve a double bed room anyway. I offer to show her the reservation paper that I have printed out at Marriott.com.
At the end, she gave us 2 king size rooms with NO Connecting door. Even though the two rooms are next to each other, the doors are separated by 10 feet. Me and my husband has to spitted up so that each of us can stay with one kids (5&7 years old).
The next day, we came down for the shuttle and was told that it's only run on demand and we will have to call them when we need a ride back from the metro to the hotel. Which we did around 2 p.m. with my son who got sick and was running a fever. We waited forty minutes for it which we were told over the phone that it should only be ten minutes wait. We end up getting on another hotel's shuttle who the driver was nice enough to let us ride.
We have to pack again and move to a double bed room. When I check out 3 days later, they charged me for a movie which they gave me credit for after I fought for it.
I will never stay in any Marriott in the future.

On Sept 12th 2010 my wife and I plus two other church members Mr. D. and Mrs. D. got into the elevator to go upstairs to our rooms which were on the 3rd and 4th floor. Mr. D. pressed the button, the doors closed and we began to move, then the elevator stopped quickly and the doors opened to let someone else in. Upon pressing the buttons again to go to our respective floors, the elevator began to move up and stopped half way and stopped. The elevator then jerked back down and everyone looked around at each other. The elevator began to jerk up and down, in a strong thrusting motion, and then panic set in. One of the members push the emergency button to call for help and no one answered, a few more seconds went by with the elevator jerking up and down, saying 1rst floor, 3rd floor, 1st floor, 3rd floor. My wife is in full panic by now, and the other church members are in shock. Someone holds the emergency button down and still no one answers the call, but now it's getting hard to breath and the elevator is still jerking up and down, everyone is scared that it was going to drop and we were all going to die. By now people are screaming, it seems like we are trapped in the elevator forever. Someone holds the emergency button down until someone says HELLO! WOW, so they say hello and we scream we are stuck in the elevator, and then they say HELLO again, and this whole time the elevator is still jerking up and down, saying were on the 1rst floor, were on the 3rd floor, people are screaming and it's getting hot and hard to breath, panic is here! Then someone says ARE YOU STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR? and we scream YES! The elevator is still jerking and moving up and down in a fast jerking thrusting motion. My wife is in full panic, the others are screaming and finally they say we are working on getting you out of the elevator. Sometime later the doors opened up and we were in between floors and they helped us out of the elevator. No one asked were we alright, i asked where are the stairs because we would not be talking the elevator ever again. Someone directed us to the stairs, we went to our rooms, very stressed and emotionally drained. My wife would not get back in that elevator or any elevator ever again, me already suffering from a neck and back injury woke up the next day not being able to move and not being able to turn my head. When we checked out no one said anything to us or asked if we were okay. This is one of the most terrifying experiences that we have ever been through and we are still suffering emotionally and physically from it.

The problem with ALL Marriotts in general is inconsistency. And that is very strange, because to my knowledge... all Marriotts and sub-brands are corporate-owned, and not franchised. I used to travel many days of the year for business. It's funny, because the *best* AND *worst* hotel experiences in my life were both at Marriotts.

Unfortunately, it came to the point where I had more complaints than compliments with Courtyards and Marriotts, and I stopped using them. To be honest, it's a lot more fun staying at individually owned, unique hotels anyway. I took several Marriott complaints all the way to Marriott Corporate, one of which was taken by someone that claimed to be Bill Marriott's assistant.

Without going into details, I said it very simply: when you stay at a Marriott, you're always in for a surprise. Different hotels give you different levels of service. It's never consistent.

Different hotels seem to bill differently, handle check-in/check-out differently, and generally treat the guests differently.

For those of us that travel a lot, consistency is really important. If you want consistency, avoid Marriott... period.

Marriott International ants in hotel bed

Back in march, our family traveled to Florida on business. We arrived at the Marriott Courtyard, Aventura, Florida, late on the night of the 19th. We checked into two rooms-one for my husband and I and one for our two adult children.

On the 20th, my daughter complained that has ankles were a little swollen and she had red blotches on her legs. I purchased some cortisone cream and had her use it on her legs, which helped. We again arrived back at the Marriott Courtyard, Aventura, Florida, on the night of the 20th. My 22 year old daughter woke in the middle of the night to something crawling in her bed-she was covered in ants! She ran out of the room, down the hall to our room and banged on the door. She had ants in her hair (she has long hair) and in her pajamas. We called down to the front desk and were told there was not other rooms available, that they would have an exterminator come up and take care oft he ants IN THE MORNING!

Meanwhile, our two children spend the rest of the night in our room (thankfully we had two beds). Upon checkout on the 21st, we woke up to find the rooms already charged to my credit card. I called a second time down to the front desk for the hotel manager. He as not in and the assistant manager was in a meeting (on a Sunday morning)...I tried to work out a discount or credit to my bill prior to my departure, but was informed I would have to speak to one of the managers.

Later that morning when I finally reached the hotel manager, I was told I would not be receiving a credit for the ant infested hotel room. Yes, there were ants in the room, and yes, they did spray but I was told they were sugar ants and no one is allergic to sugar ants. In essence, the manager told me I was lying.

Meanwhile, we had a dilemma-we were working a large event at Dolphin Stadium, Jazz in The Gardens and my son needed to take our daughter home. Her legs and other parts of her body had red marks, her ankles were swollen and she had a fever. They left and drove 14 hours back to North Carolina. Meanwhile, we had to find, hire and pay for two additional people to work on the last day of the event.

To date, we have not received a refund. We were told we have to PROVE Emily had a reaction to the ants in the hotel room. My husband and I felt that waking to a bed full of ants crawling on her body was distress enough. We have been Marriott Club members since 1999, Silver Elite members since 2004. Our daughter was very traumatized over this experience.

Hotel manager-no way no how are we refunding you anything for your room-we have never heard of anyone experiencing an allergic reaction to ants-bugs in the hotel rooms are no big deal in Florida-you should expect to find them there, after all it is Florida-no we cannot provide you with another room-it is the height of tourist season and we have no other rooms-you are simply trying to get out of paying for your rooms...at the end of the day our books have to balance.

Here's my take-I will report this to the Florida Environmental Health Department. I will report this to any and all sites on the internet. I will report this to Marriott Corporate (not that they have offered to do anything either). We will never stay at a Marriott hotel EVER again. We have been visiting Florida for most of our lives and never experienced bugs in a hotel room.

DO NOT STAY AT THE MARRIOTT COURTYARD, AVENTURA, FL!
All they want is your money-forget about cleanliness and courtesy. That is not their focus-their bottom line is, not matter what might happen to you! This has been a nightmare for our daughter-a scene right out of a horror movie.

Marriott International personal injury

My name is Orlando Irizarry, SFC with the US Army for the last 19 years. On May 2010 I and my family decided to take a little vacation in Dallas. We decided to go to the Marriott Quorum hotel in Addison, which because of our past experience as a family and also as a Contract Review Officer for the Army in which hotel we had a family readiness program convention with all the family members of soldiers who are deployed in Afghanistan. We checked in on May 28th by being guess of a current Marriott Employee, who faxed the required documentation to the lobby counter. We requested that a refrigerator and microwave be sent to our room ASAP due to our baby. It took about 5 hours and multiple calls to finally get what was promised. One of the Managers on Duty so understood that she even gave us a complementary breakfast for my entire family. Around midnight of May 30th the invoice/bill was sent underneath our door. My wife did open the bill and noticed that there were phone calls charged that were not made by us. At that moment my wife called the front desk to dispute the charges. Billy Williams, Manager on Duty after arguing with my wife over two phone calls worth less that $2 dollars did accused me and my wife of taking advantage of the hotel by asking for free stuff, free meals, calling the front desk to place false complaints. Mr. Williams also had the audacity of calling our friend’s supervisor to tell him that we were an inconvenience to the Addison hotel. I went to bed humiliated, ashamed and disgusted by the way that we were identify, targeted and accused. Few hours later I woke up with my heart racing. Around 0600 we called the front desk to request an EMT to check my heart. EMTs from the Addison Fire Department came in to our room at which time an EKG was performed at which time I was having an Atrial Fribulation. My heart was beating around bits per minute. Right in front of my entire family I was transported by the Addison Fire Department to the Baylor Plano Heart Hospital at which time I was placed in ICU. When I called my wife from ICU she told me that she felt helpless by not knowing anyone in Dallas, by also having to care of our three girls, age range from 12 to 1 year old and not knowing the area. I asker if the hotel provided any assistant to mitigate the suffering. Her answer was no, no one called from the hotel to render any assistant while I was in ICU. As a matter of fact the day time manager did acknowledge to my wife that the fact that Mr. Billy Williams called our sponsor’s friend’s supervisor to complaint against us was inappropriate at which time she did apologized for it. Because of not having anyone in Dallas to care for my wife and three girls she was forced to extend her stay for one more night with almost no money to pay for just because she did not know anything about Dallas nether the hotel provided any help. I was given anxiety medication while in ICU just to cope with my family situation at the Marriott. This is a hotel that does have a complementary shuttle service to take any west 360 degree around the hotel to any park, restaurant or other amenities but not even offered to my wife to be with me at the hospital. The following day, May 30th I was discharged from the Hospital at which time a friend came in all the way from Austin just to pick me up to go back to the hotel to check out. When I crossed that lobby I felt humiliated and ashamed by the way we were mistreated and humiliated. May be the fact that we are Hispanics may have been a factor, but we are all US Citizens by birth and army career with 19 years of service.

Today my wife called the hotel again to gather some names in order to get all the information for a legal review by the Texas Bar Association. Linn the Manager on Duty was amazed with all the things that happened through the process. I have been on convalescent leave since the day that I left the hotel on May 30th until tomorrow when I am having a heart ablation to see what kind of damage was caused by the incident in May. I have been under blood thinner ever since and facing a possible medical discharge by the Army. While on the phone with Linn I was transferred to Mr. Russell from the Lost Prevention Department to make an official report. The way that Mr. Russell talked to me and my wife was the way that a criminal investigator talks to a suspect/subject. She was arrogant, mean, challenging and rude to a point when he told me that he did not have time for me. That is the kind of typical behavior and customer service expected by the Marriott Quorum Addison hotel employees. I am an ex Military Police Investigator with plenty of investigative background and the way that we were treated by the lost prevention employee at the Marriott Quorum was the same way that Q & A was the same way that suspects and subjects are subject under.

On 16th July 2010 I was admitted at the ST. David’s Medical Center in Austin TX where I got heart surgery which took about five hours to repair electrical abnormalities around my heart. I have an 8 week recovery and placed on convalescent leave until July 26th. I have to take blood thinner for the next 6 months and monitor my heart rate every week. Based upon my cardiologist findings it has been determined that stress could be a trigger for the last incident that took place at the Marriot Quorum by the Galleria. No coronary disease was found that could trigger the last attack. My three days stay at the hotel left a lifetime physical and emotional scar.

Marriott International horrible service

Worst stay ever-Courtyard Marriott Marina del Rey, CA. I am still in the midst of the worst hotel stay of my life. I have left msgs. for both the front desk mgr. and the general manager Victor Randall about my complaints/concerns, and NO ONE has contacted me back. My room is ice cold even with the heat cranked up high-I had asked for a king and got a double so I'm lucky to have extra blankets taken from the other bed! The tub doesn't drain, the faucet leaks, and worst of all, the showerhead isn't tightened and sprayed out and got the entire bathroom and towels wet. Ive spent as little time here as possible, but due to the issues, have slept very poorly! My room wasn't cleaned-i guess because I had to sleep in the other morning as I was freezing! The front desk has not been either friendly or responsive in the least. I just stayed at a Marriott Courtyard in Seattle in Oct/Nov, and it was nowhere near as bad as this place. I'm writing several bad reviews on multiple travel and review websites, and I will also be pursuing a full refund for this stay and with my bank! I guess since I booked it through Priceline it will be more of a challenge, but this place has made my trip horrible! I am so upset and unhappy! No one, even if they book with a discount, as I'm sure that most of the guests have given the state and disrepair of this property, should be treated so poorly. I will be writing letters to the corporate office, Priceline, my bank, and the BBB, as well as potentially taking further action if warranted. I'm sure this email will also be ignored, but I will be taking all of the actions as described above. I have one more night in this hellhole and then I promise you I will make sure every possible consumer watch site, hotel review, travel site, yelp, citysearch, etc... hears about my stay. It would be nice if someone here gave a crap about their job and one of the managers would call me back or the front desk people actually responded to my complaints and offered solutions. I am so angry and disgusted, as well as exhausted from insomnia being uncomfortable and miserable.

I feel the responsiblilty to describe the terrible situation about a girl who had a real nightmare instead of what supposed to be a great holiday.I saw a girl in a wheelchair who almost fainted in a restaurant close to the marriott village. I asked her why she was in so much pain. I suggested her to bring her back to the hotel because the two girls didn't had a car anymore. They had a hummer but the friend of girl left already and she had to stay because she was not able to fly. When I asked her how this could happen she told me everything. NEVER HEARD SOMETING LIKE THIS BEFORE> WHAT a NIGHTMARE.She started to cry and told me that she had an accident in the courtyard marriott village. She was allready in wheelchair because of a complication in surgery (spinal cord injury). So this was already quite something. She stayed in this hotel for many times before. Had a room 1123 with roll in shower. March 11 while she was taking her shower, she heard a very hard crack and a part of the wall including part of the seat came down. I copied her pictures because I was interesting in this story. She felt and hurt her head, hip, her toenail felt of after a few days and last but not least her fingers and whole arm were in very much pain and some kind of numbness. After this fall she was not able to ride her own wheelchair anymore. From this point her whole holiday was over (including her friends because they had to bring her everything sice she was not able to ride her own wheelchair anymore. She planned her holiday from the 1st till march 25th. She went to see a doctor in a walk inn clinic in Lake Buena Vista. He advised her a Mri and see a specialist. She wanted to go home but her tickets were not flexible so had to stay. Her pain started to get worse and worse every day. The day i saw her, her pain was unbearable you could tell. She went to see a doctor again and he advised her a Mri and gave her a drug called dilauded (hydromorphine) because the pain was so severe. She even didn't sleep since that fall. So she was also very very exhausted. She had the Mri and the outcome was not very well. Some severy injuries. I can't be specific because I don't know if this will end up in a lawsuit or that marriott international will take care of this in very decent way. This is not all. I almost couldn't believe what see told me next: at march 25th the day she was to fly home but had to stay because she was so severe injured and in so much pain she first needed further treatment in the jewett clinic, she was going to the toilet in that same bathroom 1123, she felt again because the bar came down from the wall.. They blamed it in her because she grapped the towelbar. I went with her to this room. There was nothing to blame on her. The construction was totally rotten ( got pictures from this) and it was on the wrong place. The towelbar was hanging above the normal grapbar and since the towels were hanging over the other bar nobody was able to grap himself to the other bar (was hidden under the towels. You would always grap the bar above also when you would slip or something. Blame it on you Marriott.Very good clinic the jewett btw. She needed treatment and was not allowed to fly untill she had the treatment. She had to stay till at least april 9th. When she came back from the clinic she talked to the general manager again and til him that she had to stay at least untill that date and that she and the marriott had quite a situation here. He told her that she could only stay untill that sunday the 2th, after that he was fully booked. Since iám a elite reward member of marriott I really couldn't believe my ears. I just looked on the internet at hotelscombined and marriottsite itself but there was still availiblity after that sunday. So he was not telling the truth. How could he, she was allready exhausted and anxious about the whole situation. the pain was unbearable and due to this hotel and they treath her like this? The only offer he had btw was that they could have a free breakfast and 3 nights for free. After she told him that this was not fair because she doesn't want to stay but because of her injuries was not able and even not allowed because she didn't get a fit to fly from the doctors. After this conversation he told her that she could stay for free till that sunday. How is this all possible? The manager even told her that he was told by marriott international to do nothing for her because of possible claim or lawsuit. THIS IS NOT HUMAN MARRIOTT! She even had to pay for the the ibuprofen, one of her friends had to stay with her because she even couldn't go to toilet at her own. The manager promised her that they would bring her friend to the supermarket if she needed groceries. Later on he told that could not do that, this was only of she was staying there alone without company. The car was back to alamo, because the friend had to leave, only one could stay. So they had to take a taxi. Her creditcard was declined of all the medical cost so I suggested to pay for the rest of her stay since I felt so involved and felt so sorry for those girls. She didn't want it...The clinic also told her that marriott had to take care for her medical bills and told her even ""don't let the hotel get away with this.She also asked if it was possible that the hotel would provide her diner. But they told her that she could get a reduction and that's all. Wow, how rude they were responsible for everything. I advised her strongly to leave this hotel after all this lies and not humane behaviour to go to another hotel right away. So I arranged that for her. They should pamper her after all this. Iám traveling for bussines all over the world. Iám a MD myself so I also saw the films which looked not so good. Also a marriott elite reward member. I consider not staying again in any Marriot again. My partners were also shocked about al this. I contacted fox television miss Woolbright will you please contect me again? about this horrific story, I got all the information and pictures you need. Iám very convinced that we must do everything to help this girl and let marriott not get away with this.The girl tried to settle with the hotel. In my opininion she is to soft agains marriott and the general manager. She must sew them. The general manager told her after she visited the jewett clinic he would contact the claim adjuster that same day and that he would contact her again. She didn't hear a thing. She was so concerned and anxious that they would kick her out after that sunday that was making the the situation much more serious. She even had to pay for the ibuprofen they provided her. She also had a prescription from the jewett clinic. Her friend was not able to get (no car)it so asked the hotel. She needed them asap but never happened because the costs were 180 usd. She was not able to pay for it anymore. I want to make 1 point very clear: this is my first review ever. But this is the most terrible situation I ever saw in my whole life! At the moment Iám back in Finnland but will be back in Florida next week. Marriott: don't you feel anything? no humane feelings? You could at least offer her and her friends a whole new holiday including car, tickets and everything for 25 days. I can't blame that she never ever want to stay in this hellhotel again, but you could offer her at least a stay in the JW where I stay most of the times or the biggest marriott. You really have to do something and pamper her after she is a little bit better. Off course there will be a claim or lawsuit because of the injuries and all the expenses and don't forget about your horrible treatment! But you can offer her a new holiday, this got nothing to do with a claim or lawsuit...NOTHING JUST SHOWING SYMPATHY AND THAT YOY ARE FEELING EMBARRASSED ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION.
