gift card never received!
Over a year ago I joined the offer to receive a 25.00 gift card. However, even though I remained a member for like 6 months, I never did receive the card that I should have. I was supposed to receive a 25.00 Lowes card and also a 25.00 gas card neither of which I received.
Any help would be appreciated.

boycott the lowes!
Todd the store manager at lowes was fondling my 3 year old son in his shopping cart then threatened to have my husband fired if I was to report this to any one boycott the lowes of port charlotte florida or support child molesters.
First off all, the store and manager should sue you for slander. Second, they should have the state investigate you for either 1) allowing your child to be endangered or 2) making a false statement which would immediately require hours of questioning the child thus causing the child harm. Thank God that there are security cameras and recordings of everything that goes on at Lowe's to keep people honest. "Third part tortious interference in a contract to which you are not a member" comes to mind. Can you say, "homeless" and "broke?"
if you can't spell the name of the town you live in correctly, I doubt your story is credible. I hate how our society has become a bunch of idots who shift the blame and don't take personal responsibility for their own actions. Its a true sign of your white trash nature to make outlandish and untrue statements to defame someons character because of workplace politics which resulted in your husbands termination.
Karma53, Your a freak show. I bet you are fat and lazy and was fired due to your poor job performance. Things are not as cut and dry as you make them. I will bet my life that you are just white trash looking for a scape goat. You probably made excuses your whole life. I will bet they have documentation on you sucking at your job right? Stop blamming people for your lack of execution and lazyness. Go out and be a productive person in society.
If you witnessed that and didn't report it to the police, then you are guilty of child neglect. You didn't report it because it didn't happen, you ###.
Corey Goldberg "aom" for Port Charlotte Lowes got me fired so he could put his girlfriend in my position. He then got her pregnant and was promoted to West Palm Beach and left her for another girl . I heard she moved to Bradenton. Karma is a ###!
to be honest with you, i think your full of s@!#... If a store manager was to fondle my 3 yr old, i wouldn't have even left the parking lot. Would have called the cops and walked back in Lowes demand to see the camera taping this and lock that idiot up right away then consult a lawyer...To leave the store and post a blog is pathetic.. You must be another woman living her life online. As far as supporting a molestor, you just did cause you did nothing about this you fool... Wake up and get a life better yet a mental evaluation first!
WHAT?! Your child is supposedly MOLESTED and you do NOTHING but post on this damn blog, , , Are you nuts? To Hell with worrying about your husband being fired, , tell the police and IF these alligations are true your husband will NOT be the one getting fired, it will be this store manager and he will see jail time too. Get off your butt and contact the cops, now.
I HOPE THAT YOU REPORTED THIS INCIDENT OF SEXUAL ABUSE TO THE POLICE, DON, T WORRY ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND LOSING HIS JOB. IF THIS IS TRUE, PUT THAT PERVERT CHILD MOLESTER BEHIND BARS. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A STORE MANAGER WOULD DO THIS IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS AND YOU THE MOTHER.
ROFL! Are you freaking kidding me? You are beyond the realms of those that need help. A store manager fondling a 3 yr old? I laughed when I read this!
I have never heard of something so stupid in my life. Sounds to me like you're more pissed off about the fact that the store manager is just that - a store manager.
You, ma'am, are a fool, and a ###. Although, you are funny - so thanks for the laugh!
MY FIRST INSTINCT WAS... IF YOURE SO AFRAID HE'LL LOSE HIS JOB, THEN ISN'T THIS THE SAME THING YOU'VE BEEN WARNED NOT TO DO? SO, I DOUBT YOUR TELLING THE WHOLE STORY OR EVEN ANYTHING CLOSE TO THE REAL STORY.
don't sacrifice quality installation for a lower price!
Don’t trust the commercial hype about how good their installs are. The installers look NOTHING like the one’s on TV. Sure price was great but then the install took place. Granted the buying process went ok, even though we waited for over a half hour for someone to enter our order at the store. No one knew how to enter a carpet install, seriously.
Basement Carpet Install:
To start, my wife took the day off for the installation. They told us the installer would be there between 8 and 9am. Then a call came that they were running behind. Next I get a call from my wife at 1pm they finally showed up. It turns out the carpet has a bad run, they can either keep laying it or pull off the job. I told them to go ahead and put it down, I would look at it later that night, needless to say it looked horrific. So we schedule new carpet install for a couple weeks later, with my wife being extremely upset because the carpet was supposed to be in before our wedding/gift opening, that didn’t happen.
2nd Try! The installers arrived early in the morning, in a beat up van with the carpet sticking out the back and grubby looking guys (I didn’t want to leave the house open, but didn’t have a choice). They pulled off the job early morning to finish another job in Kenosha then came back around 4pm, right during dinner! Wrapping up just before 7pm. Great Job….yeah right.
Word to the wise: Don’t sacrifice quality installation for a lower price. Never will we have a Big Box company do our installations.
Sincerely,
Jeff
sexual harassment
My wife works as a vendor for Lowes stores. Over the last three weeks a male employee at the Riverdale Georgia Lowes, Hwy 85 & 138 has said several sexually explicit remarks to her. The management seems not to care. If you or a friend experienced similar treatment by a male at this store or if you are a current or ex female employee that knows about this behavior at this store please email me.
I would, contact Lowes corporate office with this plus I would turn it in to the Vendors employer! This will take care of it or go to the Labor Board with it. I was a vendor for Lowes Stores plus an Lowes Specialist! Good Luck, because Lowes likes to take advantage of its vendors and employees!
installation services is very unprofessional!
I purchased 8oo square feet of Pergo flooring and paid to have Lowe's install it. I found out after the fact that Lowe's contracts out the installation services. The "installation team" that came to my house was very unprofessional. They did not show up on the day that they said the would. When they did finally show up they were late. They took 3 days to do a 1 day job and even then it was not complete. I had to install some of the border myself, which I was glad to do just to get these guys out of my home. Now, 2 months later, the flooring is coming up. I have a 1 year warranty on the material and installation. I have been trying to contact the install team for over a month. They have told me twice that they would come fix the flooring but have not shown up. I have contacted Lowe's and was told that I have to resolve this with the install team. I paid Lowe's, not the install team. I cannot get satisfaction from either. I may or may not get this resolved to my satisfaction. However, I will never spend another dime at Lowe's. Lowe's seems to have forgotten that Home Depot is right down the street.
Just an update on my original post. The installer finally came back and made a half hearted attempt at fixing the flooring. That was another months worth of "I will be there on a certain day" but just not showing up. I finally gave up and just took this as a lesson learned.
Just last week I was reading the police report in the newspaper and much to my surprise: My Lowe's provided floor installers house got raided by the police. He was found to have large quantities of cocaine and marijuana.
Thanks Lowe's, for sending a DRUG DEALER to install the floors in my home. I guess Chris Palmero from Bryan, Texas will be doing all his flooring in prison now.
This Lowe’s project was to be installed in May now it is October with no installation yet. Lowe’s sent damaged materials to be used on this job! The team Lowe’s sent out to do the job destroyed the side of my house tearing off old deck. They tried to install rain escape it was if I was watching a 3 Stooges clip! Epoxy Caulk was slung all over my new siding along with dents from the stooges throwing old decking boards material around.

Signed contract for windows install 6/30; measurements taken Aug 18; to this day NO order has been placed!
The Schoolcraft fellow who made contract and supposed to place order has dissappeared ! No one at Lowes
is saying a word!
DN
We ordered carpet on 5/30/2008, and more than one month later it is still not completed. They first got the measurement wrong, then their so-called 'rush', 'expedited' re-order takes longer than the initial order. Strange, isn't it? Unless I understand the words wrong, shouldn't a 'rush', 'expedited' order take shorter time than the normal order?
No one bothered to returned our calls even we left messages. When carpet didn't arrive on time, no one called us to explain why. The manager only contacted us twice, right after we contacted Lowe's customer care at North Wilkesboro, NC, saying he got the confirmation that the order will be 'expedited'. But contacting Lowe's customer care doesn't seem to help, either, as we still don't know when the carpet can be completed as of today (July 7th). The initial order took 2 weeks; and the 'expedited' re-order has taken 3 weeks already and still counting.
Very frustrated and very helpless. We already paid the installation and carpet, and it seems the only thing we can do is just wait. Hope no one else will suffer this terrible service with this Lowe's store.
I am also interested in the class action lawsuit. My mother had Lowe's do over $4, 000 worth of work to her house and they were awful. They were supposed to install flooring in the kitchen and utility room. They left and didn't replace all the baseboard, didn't rehang all the doors, didn't install the flooring under the washer and dryer - just enough so the washer and dryer would be level. I suppose they thought that an 81-year old woman would not notice. We complained and they came back and fixed it, but not perfect. There is a soft spot where they were supposed to have repaired the sub-floor. They said that was as good as it was going to get.
There was a second job where they were supposed to restretch carpeting and regrout tile flooring. They sent over the same two guys who screwed up the first job. My mother was in shock. And you guessed it - that job is screwed up as well.
I know there are laws to protect senior citizens, but I don't know if any of them apply here.
For all you consumers out there looking for PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION SERVICES BE VERY CAREFUL OF LOWES! The installers are subpar, will lie and cheat. I went through a window install with them and it was a horror show. I had them come out and measure, order the product and install. The windows were NOT the correct size, the were modified on site, and when I questioned the installer he advised that these things can happen but he'll make sure everything is good. NOT the case. I bought the Pella 850 windows and there are exacting specs to install them to which were not followed. This led to an investigation with Lowes where the so called Market Director came out to assess and deemed the windows were fine and installed properly. REALLY? The jamb extensions were not the right size. Some windows had an additional 1/2 extension put of the face AND nearly 3 inches of shim plate put in just to get the window in. THIS IS NOT WHAT I ORDERED! So far Lowes has been difficult to dealt with. Im working with the so called executive support (really tier 3 support) to see if we can get this resolved. Im NOT confident this will happen though we will see. SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE save your time and hard earned money and shop else ware. Is home depot any better? No... NOT in my opinion. Many of the installers that work for those companies are simply there because no one else will hire them. In the case of Pella I would recommend get a quote from Lowes THEN going to the Pella store to have them quote those same windows. They will meet the pricing of Lowes but you need to have the paperwork. Installs by the Pella store are not cheap but it seems they will stand by their work. Trust me... I ran Pella guy through the ringer and I felt pretty good about the process. In closing if there is anyone involved in a class action suit against Lowes please post the representing attorneys so that I may reach out to them. They need to be held accountable for their actions once and for all!
For starters as pergo is an easy and fast floor to install everything depends on how much prep is involved.. lowes and scheduling of the installer could have bumped your org install day.. I am speaking from an installer stand point of lowes. we have ### installers from other companies and customers that don't follow install directions and blame us when their floor fails due to not putting transitions in 3 ft door ways due to them not looking right. That's customers responsibility not the installers. I'm sorry for ur ### experience with the guy that shops at baby gap, but not all of us are. We were in the top ten in the nation for hard surface flooring so I know what I'm talking about... If u want day labor sure go to hd but I don't want illegals in my house.. I'm sure ur a customer that complained that your house got dusty and that they played their radio. Get the stick out of ur ### and put urself in their shoes... Good day sir
It's even worse than that Leo :) They are pushing their credit line like there's no tomorrow. If you buy anything on a card of any kind including gift cards, credit/debit, even checks, ALL of that "money" is listed as the day's transactions. Even if all the checks bounce and half the debit cards end up not clearing afterward, the store "reflects" a net earning of whatever was transacted that day. It's not even real money yet! And when the bank calls to tell them about all the kick-backs guess what suffers? Payroll!
I had a bad experience at Lowes yesterday. I went to a Lowes in Greenville north Carolina and being a home repair specialist I had a specific need for a plumbing part. Teh sales specilast Keith was condescending, abrupt and arrogant
He not only offended me he ruined my day. I had purchased a used Kohler faucet that I was installing in a home and I needed the plastic nut for the sprayer to make a long story short He was not interested in solving my problem he acted like I was invading his territory. All I needed was a 50 cent plastic part( or I could have used a small ring type nut if they would have taken the time) to make a remodel job perfect instead I ended up with a $3.00 generic sprayer adapter
I immediately went to the department manager and he listened then gave me a blank stare I said "lets go to your manager" he said he is standing right over there...I walked over to a gentelman that was on a cell phone or company phone he looked at me and said "what do you need" I was livid!
I explained to him about the situation and he said he would talk to the associate
These issues have to reflect directly on the local management.
I told the managers that I will do everything possible to avoid doing business with them. Yhis will cause me a lot of inconvenience but principal is important...IF YOU ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WILL GET
We were thee number one installation company for lowes store here in chicago. with 9 stores at the time 31 installers, and a vary organized office. let me tell you lowes has little or nothing to to with your job other than ordering the materials, and they can never seem to get that right we tried to work with them for 9 years, but as lowes grew (too fast ) they didn't want one company having too much control over their business, so they worked us out of the equaltion, and went with multible smaller contractors, unskilled, unprofessional, and this is why these large box stores do so poorly with their customer service. when we had it, we had inspectors out there checking every jobsite, meeting every homeowner, and if there was a problem with the product, witch there always was, we went to the store for the homeowner and made sure the store got it wright. as for the one comment, you are absolutly correct. the installer never sees a dime of his money until 2-3 weeks after the job has been completed. sometimes i have see jobs screwd up for over a year, with us going out there as many as 12 times. and lowes also is suppose to pay the contractor 45 per trip for going out. by the time we got paid we never saw a trio charge, payment and sometimes we never were paid at all. when we left lowes we were stiffed over 50, 000 in monies owed. our lawyer said we didn't stand a chance against lowes. so while i understand the homeowners fustration, the installer is the one that looses here, cause lowes gets pais up front, the customer will eventually get their products, but the contractor is left doing all the leg work, and tha one that has to fight to collect money for work they have done, and been paid a long time before to the store. do the math...
there are over 1000 lowes stores the average time on a millwork oeder from purchasing your mesurement to the actual install is going to be 5-6 week. the average cost 500.00 you pay that up front. if every store sell just one 500 project per day that is 3, 500, 000 per week nationally. now lowes collects interest on that money for 5-6 weeks, they don't pay the supplier for that material for 60-90-days. so multiply that by 4 weeks that is 14, 000, 000 now they will get 10 percent interest on that cause they will have that months install money locked in for two months, prior to paying anyone that is 28, 000, 000 plus ten percent interest, 2, 800, 000 that is the free money the bank is going to give them for screwing up your projects. the longer they hold it the more free money they get. this is my complaint.
oh and i have three filing cabinets, over 9 years to back up everything i have stated.
blades not mount on my existing harbor breeze ceiling fan!
I recently purchased a set of Harbor Breeze Philodendron custom fan blades (part # 124662) at a local Lowe's. Got them home and then found out they would not mount on my existing Harbor Breeze ceiling fan. The holes in the custom blade are grouped closer together than the standard Breeze motor. Went back to Lowe's to see about buying the proper fan mount brackets, but found out they are not sold separately for the above model blade. The only way you can get them is if you buy the entire motor assembly. Ended up returning the blades and getting a refund.
We bought a home two years ago that has two brown Harbor Breeze fans on our covered patio. Due to strong winds, one of the brown bamboo blades has been broken off. I have been unable to find this blade and I need information on where I can locate it. Please, send us an email.
we don't want to work for lowe's much longer!
We are an Installer for Lowe’s. Lowe’s Installers are base on score of 89% or better. We have a 95%-98% overall score. We don't want to work for Lowe's much longer.
Lowe's has a rotation to make it fair for Installers to get a fair share of work from which ever store they choose to be in.
We were asked many times to do another store that was to far for us to go out to daily, it would have made us take a loss. We refused to do that store. In the end we have been pulled off rotation from most of our stores. We had enough work for 3 crews. We had to let them all go. We did about 3-5 jobs a week for the past few years to now 3-4 jobs a month.
There is one person that is really in charge hiring and who gets what store and how many jobs they do in a whole from all the stores. It should be based on your score, but it seems it not the case. The AIM (Area Install Manager) has the power to starve or give life, depending on the mood.
We stood up to the AIM; we told him we would take a loss if we went to that store. We even talked to someone in Corporate, Now Lowe's is starving us out of business. What’s (Rotation) really for? Why take your best installer out and put in installers that don't or can't do the jobs? Why do we know this? We get more jobs from stores now, that the installer cant do the job or won't that would otherwise go to us in the first time. We just ran into one that the installer tried to sell his own materials to the customer when it should be though the store.
The Worst thing we ever ran into was having to save a neighbors life behind the customers house in the middle of one of our fence installs, mind you we had to break down part of the neighbors fence to get to him. Which we fixed later. He called us Lowe's Angels. A near Quadriplegic stuck on his floor for 24hrs ain't too good after his electric chair flipped on him.
Can someone help us understand why we got kicked out of all those stores with a 95% or better score?
It won't matter soon, we hope to have a better contract with another company that appreciates our work.
This will be the first time we have had to advertise to stay in business.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have pretty much have the exact story. The store we formerly worked with consistently provided the incorrect materials. It was so bad that on one job they provided the wrong tankless water heater 4 times and finally told us just to install it even though our plumber told them it would not work. It got installed and didn't work and they tried to blame us. They also stopped all payments to us and left me no choice but to walk off the 4 projects that were in progress because I could not incur the expense and not be paid. Of course they blamed us for absolutely everything. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing and take zero responsibility for any of the screw ups. If you're a contactor wanting to get involved with Lowes, do yourself a favor and run away as fast as you possibly can. A year later and they still owe me $15, 000 and I'm sure I'll get stiffed.
As a newer installer for Lowes we were picked to be the contractor chosen for their PSI program. Recently a customers install went sideways. The install office ordered the incorrect size of windows. The brand new FSM has determined it was our fault the incorrect size window was ordered. We have very professional pointed out our measurements, the Lowes employee measurements which match and the documents showing the windows ordered. The ordered windows mostly match except for 2 windows. One was ordered 6 inches to small the other window was ordered 8 inches to small. The FSM determined that was our fault. At the customer sight when removing the existing windows it was found the previous windows were installed incorrectly and that the rough openings were not the normal 1/2 inch larger. Lowes FSM determined that we should have known without removing the windows that there was a problem. Not sure how many contractors have X-ray vision but ours is currently not working. The current FSM has determined not to break our contract but that we will not continue with the PSI program or the Legacy installer program. He has taken us out of the rotation and put a hold on all payments so we cannot paid for the work we have completed. I am sure the guys I had to let go are not going to be customers of Lowes anymore.
I was just let go after 10 years with 100% scores to give the big company my store. lowes is losing the best installer they have ever had. I will land on my feet, but I loved lowes and will miss my teammates .good luck lowes you will need it. Remember the small guys built you
Lowes came in and fired every installer in Ohio. No warning, even telling installers there was NO way they would go to just big craiglist stealing installers working for an how low can you install this floor company, , , though you the customer is paying top dollar..So now read back the comments and see really what a corporate company really is
Lowes is a soulless company and I have expereinced firsthand all of the things complained about. They will never change and you are disposable. You cannot count on them for steady income and you have to suck it up if you are asked to install out of your area. You have to play along with their needs in order to keep getting work. Its a nightmare.
I agree with what everyone has said so far. I had "the interview call" for a position I applied for and was very excited to be scheduled for what I thought was an actual interview but the call quickly changed direction about me enrolling in a college to get a degree. I was like WTF, is this person legit? I spoke with some guy with a heavy accent, and I could barely understand what he was saying. He said he would be sending me an email within the next 24 hours that I needed to verify. He put me on hold and I quickly hung up because I had googled and saw all the negative comments, I feel much better that I hung up and the call did not go any further. At no point during the call did he mention the company that had the open position. What a scam!
Where to start? My wife and I had installed cabinets and laminate floors for Lowes for 10 years. I have seen all of this in 10 years.
We were always 98% or 99% in our ratings each quarter, was Gold level one year, install dept hadn't any idea what the ceritiicate was when I ask. Fould out that I was one of two in the state of Indiana.
The biggest part of our job was PR with the customer after having bad experiences with the store. When we completed a job they would always say, I won't deal with Lowes any longer unless your involved. I'm sure Lowes hasn't noticed any loss in revenue from those folks. LOL
Our nightmare began with a customer from HELL. A couple of scam artist who I suspect of having a relative in Lowes which gave them names and numbers of Corp heads.
From day one, they were unhappy with every contractor that Lowes had sent out, the tile layers, the carpenters putting in doors and last but not least, US.
For some strange reason, the tiles on the backsplash would be out of line after the layers had left for the day, The stainless refrigerator would have a scratch on the lower panel 3 times in a roll. Can we say SABOTAGE ? To make matters worse the cabinet designer made a mistake on a couple of cabinets going over a desk area, not effecting the kitchen install itself, I'm giving him the excuse that he was new.
I finally came out and ask the lady if she was happy with our work. She said oh yes, your the only ones doing anything right.
We went to the truck for a break and I told the wife...WE ARE NEXT.
We finished up what we could with 98% of the job complete on a friday night and got a call from Install manager Sunday that they did not want us back. That we had installed all the knobs and handles crooked or scratch the drawer facings with the handles.
35 years of installing knobs and handles I'm going to suddenly use a power driver on a handle with one screw making it turn and scartch the drawer facings.
They had Lowes Corp guys from the state level on down at their house and I was not allowed to defend myself.
Turns out they got a free high end kitchen and I lost $1200 invested time on the job.
The company would not back me on this job even though the disctrict install manager stated they had never had a complaint about our work, .
At this time I decided that we would not do cabinets for Lowes any longer. But would continue to do laminate floors.
We were certified Pergo Installers since 1998 when we use to glue and clamp the floors. I figured there was less headaches with the floor installs then kitchens. Only problem being, we don't do carpet.
The rotation at the beginnings was a joke, the associates knew how to get around the system and put in their preferred installers for a job. But they got into trouble when found out and had to go by policy.
Now after the housing bubble burst in 2008 more and more contractors found themselves looking for work so they posted in as installers with lowes. So now when my company name would come up and say the customer wanted both carpet and laminate, I got tossed over for a company that installed both putting me back to the bottom of the list. We were lucky to get a detail once a month after that.
It didn't matter that you were a top installer with them for 10 years. Lowes has no Loyalty toward their installers.
Yes I did like the fact that I didn't have to advertize, I did like getting paid for details even if Lowes didn't get the job. I did like the fact I got paid from Lowes and not the customer beating me out of my pay. But life goes on, I was keeping myself busy before Lowes insisted I come and install for them when the install program first began. I havea 6 drawer file cabinet full of happy customers who call me for work now knowing they don't have to deal with Lowes.
I felt that we represented Lowes when we went on a project and would build them up and make excuses for the associates lack of experience.
I felt like I was training every new Cabinet or Flooring specialist and then they would move them after they got good or in the Cabinet dept, they would not get rid of a designer even if they were screwing up every job.
We had one guy that wanted fired and did it on purpose and they still kept him on for a year after I started pointing out his screw ups. I guess what finally did it, he was sending me out to detail and help him design a problem kitchen and then recommending another contractor that worked for him to do the install. I finally got called in 6 montrhs later to remove and start over on the improper install.
BTW, I have a bunch of med size Lowes installer shirts for any of you die hard Lowes lovers.
lowes is full of ###, well in raleigh nc there are no lowes installers its companys like BALANCE POINT, WATSONS FLOOR COVERING the installers that dont do ### at all, but sit at a desk all day.for one the AIM in the area is a ### it you dont do right for them middle men you will get fired.and me as a installer use to work for them companys(middle men) and they controll your work an what you do .for ex.im did not sign a contract with lowes at all but when i have people call my number off my van they get mad and no use me.
In my opinion lowes will not let you grow no mater how great of an installer you are . Your stuck making the same amount watching them hire new installers that don't have a clue and then they ask you to go out and repair the job you should have installed in the first place.
Talk about the lowes pros hoes. If you've ever worked for them, you people out in Hooville would understand. Lowe's is full of clicks, drama, gossip and intrigue. Who needs to watch Desperate Housewives with all the drama and deceit going on there.
being avoided for their own mistake!
I purchased hardwood floors and needed the glue to install them. I went to Lowes to the flooring dept. where I was told what glue to use. Upon reading the label it read "Not For solid wood". I pointed this out to the so called PRO and was told that my flooring was considered plank and it was the right glue. I installed the floors and within 2 weeks it was coming up. Come to find out that my 3/8 solid hardwood was put down with a water based glue. My floor is cupped and coming up. I went to the store spoke to a manager who admitted that they were wrong and would resolve the matter. After 2 months of numerous phone calls and being avoided they said it was my problem and they would take no responsibility for what happened.

DON'T WORK FOR THE LOWES IN BALLWIN, MISSOURI: YOU WILL NEVER GET PROMOTED! The now manager of the store, who has been there for about 1 year, and went from Kirkwood store to Ballwin store, has only brought out HIS people from the Kirkwood store and put in those positions. Anyone that applies for an opening at the Ballwin store will not get it, this manager will bring one of his the people he use to work with from the Kirkwood store, and the morale at the Ballwin store is the pitts. I feel sorry for the people who have worked so hard at the Ballwin store and will never get any where because of this manager. As a customer, I won't shop there any more. I feel sorry for the good workers who have always were there to help me, and who have been there a long time, many who have started since the store opened, and they can't fill the open positions, because of this manager hiring from his old store? How said this is.
I purchased a Westinghouse dishwasher from Lowes in Oct 13. Lowes had a very competitive price which I found attractive. Made the purchase online and the local store delivered it. Being handy I figured I'd install it as I've done in the past with other purchases.
As I went to install it I realized that items were missing. Items like the leveling feet ( one was there, 3 missing) and the cover for the electrical junction box. I called and was told that they could do nothing. Being handy I made adjustable feet out of bolts and adapted the cover from the old dishwasher. I don't complain and figured this was the cost of getting a good price. Note that this was NOT a floor model or discontinued model but one they continue to advertise.
I filled out the Lowes comment section as a purchaser with a brief description of my ordeal. Two sentences max. Mind you I love the dishwasher and it's operated flawlessly.
I get an email back two days later stating that they can not show my comment as it doesn't fit corporate policy! I'd hate to understand how many other situations are treated in this fashion.
I purchased a refrigerator and scheduled a delivery date for a Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM. I had to take a half day off and waited and waited and waited. I called them at 10:30 and told them that I can only take a half day and they said that they will tell the driver. 12:00 came and I had to call work and tell them that now I have to take a full day. It is 3:00 and no frig. Why schedule if they go by their own time? And if this was me -on my job - I would have been fired. What does a poor women do when you live from pay check to pay check! This was in irmo South Carolina - just letting everyone know. "Let's not build something together".
I purchased new kitchen appliances from Lowes and was talked into buying the extended warranty and assured that if anything happened, the warranty would take care of it. While cleaning and polishing the ceramic top stove one evening, the paper towel I was using, caught on something. Thinking it was just a dried food speck, I continued to polish. Suddenly, I realized there were shards of glass sticking to the paper towel. I now have a quarter-size hole at edge of my stove top that is dangerous when I am cleaning the counter. When I called to report this, Lowes sent out a local service man who could not determine what had caused this, so now the extended warranty company does not want to pay. They say it is cosmetic damage! Should have saved my money for the extended warranty. Am very disappointed with Lowes and their service warranties. Am talking to a lawyer now!
I purchased a trane heat pump system for over 7, 000.00 I was told it would be installed two days later. Well, its almost two weeks later and it is still not installed. And today the installer told me it would not be installed until NEXT Friday. I have had to move my carpet installation three times. Seems they got my money and now dont care. I also purchased a complete kitchen of top of the line oak cabinets. Both corner cabinets were supposed to be lazy susan. They were delivered today and neither are. I have spent almost 30, 000.00 the past two months at lowes to remodel my home. I am being told that they will take care of these problems but have not yet done so.
A water heater I had purchased from Lowe's and had had installed by Lowe's died. It was still under warranty, but I was told that with an authorization number from Whirlpool, I would receive another heater for free but only pay for installation. The installer arrived at night, several hours late. The first thing he did was tell me that the old water heater had been installed incorrectly and not according to code (by a former Lowe's installer). He installed the new heater without any improvements regarding code and left without turning the gas back on, the water back on, or the new heater on. Two days later, I still haven't figured out what spigots the installer turned off to stop water from reaching my second floor. You see, I can hardly walk, let alone climb stairs to the basement. I am about to have hip replacement surgery in two weeks and am in continual pain. My playing trial and error in the basement to figure out what the installer turned off has nearly finished ME off. Lowe's also refuses to undo the damage from the first incorrect installation. Their excuse for the inferior workmanship is "that codes change every year and it was probably o.k. when we first installed it." In the small town where I live, nothing changes every year, let alone housing codes. I will never shop at Lowe's again for anything
I completely understand your frustration with Lowe's. I purchased shutters for a window that had to be special ordered. Upon ordering, I was told it would take 30-38 days for delivery to my home. 3 months later, I still do not have my shutters. The charge was placed on my first bill and was paid to Lowe's long before the the 'original' scheduled delivery. I made many calls and wrote letters to the store manager. Unfortunately, I too will have to file a claim in court to get my money back from Lowe's. Before my undelivered purchase was made, I was warned not to use Lowe's by a co-worker who had a horrible experience with Lowe's when buying an expensive exterior door and having them install it. Honestly, I'm surprised they are still in business.
big scratch on the door of the refrigerator!
I bought a whirlpool refrigerator from lowes in elk grove, ca on 9/18/06 for next day delivery. The product was delivered to our house the next day. Unfortunately, the delivery guy made a big scratch on the door of the refrigerator. We didn’t want to waste the delivery guy’s time since they said one of the delivery trucks is out of service and they have a lot more to deliver that day. So we told them to move on and we’ll call lowes to schedule for a replacement. It took us almost a week of run around to finally get someone to respond and to schedule for a replacement.
The delivery guy came back the following saturday to give us the new refrigerator. As they arrived at my house, they quickly proposed to change the scratched door of the refrigerator instead of replacing the whole thing. They said this way we can avoid other damages. It made sense so I agree to change the door. Once the door was changed, it kept making this squeaky noise so I told them to just replace with the new refrigerator. That’s when the delivery guy finally revealed the truth. He said they can’t replace the refrigerator because the compartments inside the “new” refrigerator are broken. Unbelievable! Shouldn’t you check to make sure the product is in good condition before you deliver to your customer? Once again, the delivery guys were behind schedule. I didn’t want other customer to suffer like us, sitting around waiting, so I told the delivery guy to move on and i’ll deal with lowes. I called lowes back to explain the situation and asked for another replacement. The delivery manager, heather wilson, responded with an attitude and said they don’t have any in-stock and she doesn’t know if they’ll order more. This lady is not a customer service person at all! She didn’t even apologize for sending us a broken refrigerator. So I told her I want to return the item. She said she’ll send the delivery guy back the next day to pick up the broken one.
Another week has gone by and I receive a phone call from another delivery manager by the name of chris. He was very sympathetic about the situation and asked if I could give lowes one more chance to make it up. I told chris that if he can get me the same refrigerator and deliver it to my house by the end of the week, i’ll give them one more chance. Sure enough, he got the product and scheduled for delivery. That saturday we got our refrigerator. However, in the process of bringing the refrigerator into the house, the delivery guy broke one of the legs on our staircase and scratched two other legs. Can’t they do anything right? The delivery guy wrote up his report and said he’ll submit to lowes delivery manager and she’ll get in touch with us.
Almost a week have gone by and no words from anyone at lowes on the broken staircase. So I called chris since heather is not willing to assist us. He said the delivery manager, heather wilson, should have contacted me right away on this. Well, obviously this lady doesn’t want to talk to me. She’s the worst customer service person i’ve ever spoken to. So chris said he’ll look into this and get back to me. Shortly thereafter, a guy called me and said heather told him to call. He said he’s the subcontractor for lowes who does estimates on issues like this. So he scheduled an appointment with me, but gave me a four hour waiting window. This is not a delivery. It’s an estimate for crying out loud. What kind of business is this? You broke someone’s staircase and now you’re making them wait for four hours just for you to come out for an estimate. It’s insane. That’s going to waste another half of my day.in addition, i’m probably going to have to wait another four hours just for them to show up to fix the staircase, not to mention the time it’s going to take to fix the darn thing. This is ridiculous! I insisted that they give me a specific time they’re coming out because i’m tired of waiting around for them. They said they can’t give me exact time because the four hour time span is their policy. What kind of policy is that? I can understand for a delivery, but not for an estimate.
Until today, the problem is still not resolve.
Does anyone out there have any suggestion on how to elevate this issue? I have already send email complaints to lowes, but haven’t gotten any response. I’m so fed up with this.
I will never buy anything at lowes that requires delivery service again.
/ordered 5 Masonite interior doors in white on 8/31. They arrived dirty with dents and scratches. No consideration that the doors were white at all. very disappointed and may be returning them!
Listen you probable live in a tiny house with a tiny doorway just like most of the homes i deliver too. you probable had no intentions of tipping the poor guy when he delivered you your product. lets take a moment to ponder this. a bartender will get a couple of bucks for pouring a 4 oz glass of booz, a delivery guy would get if there lucky $30 for a delivery for carrying a 300lbs of metal through a tiny door way do you think he's gonna care if he scratches your door hell no.. i would be upset with lowes not the delivery guys. its your responsibility to make a clear path for the guys. did you? did you remove the outside door to make it a quicker delivery i will bet you didn't. so now he's a sub contractor and your crying about a broken peg on your stair case. it will come out of there pocket not lowes to have it fixed. so suck it up and fix the stair case yourself. i have seen so many complaining people about the most dumbest thing. maybe you should try to carry a 400lbs refrigerator on your back and see what will happen. thats why its called an accident...
Taking pride in work regardless of what you do in life. You obviously like that. You dirtbag
we were amazed at the attitude of the associates
Yesterday afternoon my husband and I went to Loew's to get a small shade for our newly refurbished kitchen. This simple purchase took us about an hour and a half to be completed. We were amazed at the attitude of the associates. We wanted to know if certain small lamp shade on display came in a particular lighter hue. So we waited about ten minutes to see if someone will show up at the department.
Went to the big appliances section and they paged somebody who never showed up. Waited some more.
Meanwhile whenever I saw an associate I tried to get his/her attention but they literally ran away from me saying that Lighting was not his/her department. Soon I realized that in the big appliances dept. there were two associates immovable looking on at our situation. It was funny in a way if we had been not the actors but the audience. Unbelievable!
Finally, we decided to get whatever and go the cashier promising never to go back.
Thought you would like to know.
Sincerely,
John and Elena

Went to purchase verticals for two windows and one sliding door. They neglected to take off the additional 5%when using card...Of course we requested they go and give us the additional and at 9:30 am we signed the papers to find out we were shorted the 5 %. To fix this problem it took 6 people and at the end of 12:30 they still got it wrong and owe us 20.43. Now we almost canceled the whole order we got so upset. No apology for keeping us that long and still we need to deal with someone that can tell us what tax rate is in Bakersfield which seems a problem they can't solve...We checked with credit card company and they still over charge 20.43 cents...and we still need to get someone at that store to figure that one out and return out money. Gads we won't be back to order rest of the windows as we are afraid of this happening once again.
Well Wearehumanstoo, I agree with some of your points but I do love a good debate. So, what you are saying is, that after their jobs let them go, the economy being tough, and it being difficult to find a job, that a company actually hires them to work; yet they are so bitter that they become "ungrateful", and and can't do their jobs because they are mad about the cards life dealt them. I say...get over it. I'm not seeing where this is Lowe's fault. What I see is people thinking that they are too good to do certain jobs, so they do not to care as much. Which goes back to my original statement that if you are'nt willing to do the job (that you applied for, and accepted) and do it right, then don't apply for it in the first place. I also don't agree that you can't just quit a job because you don't like what you do, or the way people treat you. Sure you can. Why stay working somewhere that you hate. Who benefits from this? Nobody. As for the way customers are, there are ###s all over the place, and in every industry. Especially the service industry. Which brings me back to another statement I made that if you cant handle that, find something else to do with your life. I'm not saying that it's right for customers to be that way, or that Lowes employees are'nt people too, but you have to have thick skin to work in this industry and some people are'nt cut out for it. I guess what I was originally trying to say is that it is hard to find a job for some people these days, so if someone hires you, and you accept the job...do it, and don't ### about because you could be unemployed. If you hate it, go do something else. Remember...you are who you choose to be.
Well Texas guy think of this, Maybe the idiots your talking about applied there after getting cut from there employers in the rough economy . Sometimes you cant just quit working somewhere just because you don't like your job! Or that you don't like the way certain people treat you while you work there. I would like to see some of the people that complain about the employees that work there, to try and do what they do for 3 months and see how much they like it! People think they can go in there and talk and treat you however they want! Lowe's employees are humans too! They have family's too they have bills, and they do there job to the best of there ability. I agree there are a select few that don't give a damn about there job and make it bad for the rest of them. I have worked for Lowe's. I have first hand had people threaten to hit me in the face for no reason other than the vendor put the wrong bolts in a box that says 3" when they are 2"! How in the hell is that my fault! I bet you money that people would not say that to them if they didn't have that red vest on! Because you know you would be hit strait in the face! Treat them with respect just like you would at HEB! DON'T BE A PIECE OF ### WHEN YOU WALK IN THE DOOR OF LOWE'S THEY ARE HUMANS TOO SORRY THEY DONE WORK FOR A COMPANY LIKE DELL WHERE EVERYTHING IS PERFECT AND MAKE 50K A YEAR! GROW UP!
I just want to make a quick comment to all of the idiots who are complaining about working at Lowes. Is your excuse for not giving great customer service all of the time because they are mean to you, or don't pay you enough? Are you serious? If you don't like the way things are, then do something about it. Make a change. Don't just cry about it. Either do the job that you were hired to do...that you applied for...that you accepted at that pay rate...or quit. It's pretty simple. If you work somewhere that deals with customers, it's your job to "jump out of the ether and help me find a wingnut". If you can't do that, then find something else to do with your life.
I will not be shopping Lowe''s store as firing full time employ's in your local community, and hiring part time employ's is a very poor decision on upper management part. I suggest that other stores in the community still support their employ's and those are the companies I will give my business. Karen Dayton, Oh
I am a lowes flooring installer in the midwest I have a 96% craftsmanship rating and 100% professionalism 97.6 % overall rating for the last year 2010 And after reading this, it looks like I should just ride the wave and see how far it takes me . Does that sound about right. Chad, WI
Sorry to say but down here in the south it's really not much better. every time i go into lowes(foley, AL) i can never find an associate to help me and when i do they seem to be very rude. For example, I was in Lowes about a week ago looking for a new ceiling fan. it took me about 15 mins. to get the help of an associate(which happened to be the department manager). I have to say she was friendly at first but after me asking about 3 questions, she became very rude. almost as if i was annoying her. If it werent for us they ewouldnt have a paycheck yet they are rude when a customer needs a few minutes of their time!
I work as an outside vendor for Lowe's and have wokred in many of the stores over the past 10 years and have found that it does not matter what part of the country you are in, (I have worked in several states), the people are pretty much all the same, accept in the south. It is not too bad in the south where people are a little friendlier. However, in the midwest, the people working at Lowe's are utterly ridiculous! They work in such fear that they don't want to even get caught saying hello to you. I am not sure why anyone would want to keep their job under the conditions that they work. There are managers in some of the stores in the midwest who think they are king and they are quick to let you know it. When someone only makes 8.00 an hour and has to work under such fear it makes them not be able to give good customer service, let alone anything else in the company. As an outsider who comes in to work at Lowe's I have an easier position because they have to conform to the rules they and our company have put together, which really pisses them off because they can't treat us like they do their own employees, although I have to say that the ones who think they are king still try to pull their crap on us, too. So, even us outsiders working there have to put up with a lot of crap from them and are constantly fighting with them to get them to follow our program. What ever happened to good customer service when people actually cared about others? The midwest people are very bitter people and I can't wait to move away from here!
Seriously? Seriously!? People at Lowe's do not make enough money to re-do a kitchen and you people are complaining about how YOU didnt get what YOU wanted? Self-centered...seriously and I dont even work there!
Agree with Abused and Supermike. Ex-employee myself who happens to be educated, took a Specialist position as I was in a new town and this was close, and stayed on for two years. They pretty much use the Wal-mart model of 60-70% seasonal/part-timers when economic times are rough (i.e., slow summer/end of year closing-the-books maximizing Profit/Loss Statements, not necessarily the current economic state of affairs--this gets worse). To this, they expect each employee to perform 2-3 jobs while maintaining a skeleton crew. EVERYTHING sans breathing is a "Class A" immediate termination violation. They do this to maintain control over payroll expenses and to be able to quickly move into a layoff/termination period when needed. Notice now in the Spring, Feb/Mar, they will announce with huge banners that they are hiring all kinds of positions. This is after year end close and to get ready for busy Spring before the slow Summer layoffs. I myself was let go for not putting a comment on a customers' account that a $100 broken (upon receipt from the shipper/vendor) door had been reordered. Although it had. This happened on a Friday while I had the weekend off. Was informed of write up on Monday. Even though I consistently produce $40K in sales to my GOAL of $18K for the company. I make a high wage, they will replace me with Scooter who makes $8 an hour and will tell you that he just started/used to work in Plumbing and has no idea what a rough opening measurement is. I would recommend either not shopping at this store, and/or get off your ### and do something about the way big boxes are outsourcing cheap labor/products from China (everything at Lowe's comes from China--just like Commie-Mart) and running their U.S. stores with no commitment to community, either through taxes or otherwise (they get tax breaks then move stores and redefined tax districts when it comes time for them to "ante up" ). There's a bigger picture here, so next time you complain about this generations "customer service" or how someone didn't immediately pop out of the ether to help you find a wing nut, take a moment to think about why.
my experience is certainly nothing compared to some of the 'horror stories' i've read on complaintsboard.com
This is a letter I submitted to the Lowe's Home Improvement Store Website. My experience is certainly
nothing compared to some of the 'horror stories' I've read on ComplaintsBoard.com. Still, as far as I am
concerned, its just one more nail in the coffin.

On September 23, 2006 my wife and I went to the Lowes of Garden City (store number 1624) to purchase a dishwasher. The experience was so extremely dissapointing, I am going to make it a point not to shop at Lowes any further.
To start, the customer service representative there who served us (John) seemed more concerned with
talking with several of his coworkers than correctly entering my information for the purchace. I had
requested a delivery, install and removal of the old unit. On the paperwork, John checked off delivery but no install. When I pointed this out, he told me not to worry about it. I insisted he check it off. At
one point he began to talk to his coworkers again. I asked him if this was going to take long as my wife
was attending to one of our small children. He insisted the process would not take long.
When he finally began to enter the information into the computer, I asked him several times if he had
added the delivery, intall and removal request. He insisted he had. He then asked me if I was interested
in a Lowe's credit card. I informed him I was and he said that he would take care of that as well.
After he entered the information into the computer he printed out a receipt and told me to go to any
register and give my phone number. I asked him about the credit card and he told me I had to go to customer service to apply. I asked him then why he said he would help me set up the card if he couldn't or wouldnt have been able to, but got little reply. I decided to forgo the card application and put the purchase on an existing card. I then went to a register where I gave the young lady my phone number. To my amazement, she asked me when I intended to pick up the dishwasher. I informed her I had requested delivery, install and removal of the old unit. She informed me that none of that information was in the system and that I would have to go back to the customer service person.
At this point, I was disgusted. I told her to forget the purchase, I didn't want it. I then asked for the
manager on duty. A gentleman named Larry came over and I explained what had happened. Larry apologized and took my phone number down, promising me that he would call me personally in a day or two and we would place the order correctly over the phone. It has now been ten days, and Larry never bothered to call.
Every time I see a Lowe's commercial, where your customer service reps offer the Lowe's 'promise' for
customer satisfaction, I laugh. From now on, it's the Home Depot in East Meadow Long Island for me.
Dissapointedly,
Tom
Just wanted to comment on all the negative stories about Lowes. I hope everyone realizes that Home Depot is not all that much better, at least in my area of Mass.. You may want to consider (even though it does cost a bit more) using your local hardware stores on a more frequent basis. Because we all know that once Lowes and Home Depot put those mom and Pop stores out of business, the service and prices at the huge chain stores are not going to get any better. I admit the larger stores do have better prices and selection, however, before we know it we will all be slaves to Lowes and Home Depot. With no other choices.
Loud enough to not use it
I bought an Indoor/Outdoor rated Harbor Breeze, Key West, ceiling fan last in September 2006. This ceiling fan is over our spa, securely installed over a lattice patio cover (with Plexiglas over the top protecting the fan from water from the elements. We had some recent winds and several of the fan blades snapped off and cut my spa cover in several places. As well as 4 out of the 5 fan arms either bent, twisted and 1 even split 2/3 if the length down the arm.
I have searched and searched for replacement arms, decorative outdoor replacement blades; they apparently do not coexist. I have tried looking for a Harbor Breeze web site, nothing. I looked on Lowes web site and at several stores. I have given in up hope of finding the same finish as the fan I have (brushed/antique pewter), and have considered spray painting new arms, but there are no arms to fit decorative outdoor blades.
I am frustrated that I spent $180 on this fan and my only choice would be to buy a new one? Why by a new one when even though this fan is rated Indoor/Outdoor it held up very poorly. The blades shouldn't have snapped off, and the arms shouldn't have bent or split.
I need some help.
Manger no help at all on may 31 2025
In the wood department the manger being very Lazy and making the customers disappointed that night. Also employee left in may 2025 when the employee needs the job to pay rent etc just that Lowes was very Lazy and disappointed

Today is now April 28th. What gives.
She listened to me. Identified the problem. Contacted the credit department, spoke with the right person. Informed me how it worked and what I need to be aware of in the future without making me feel like an idiot. She is the example of what I'd expect from a Professional.

Absolutely shoddy work. No respect for customers and will not follow through. This is your go-to place if you want your home looking horrible.
The installer used the wrong trim and when he greed to fix the problem, he sent someone with a caulking gun. Seriously.
Once again I went to the Mechanicsville VA store on February 9 2024 to return an item that I purchased with cash . I lost the receipt your policy states "with proper ID they may process it. So when do they process the return? I had proper ID and the return desk refused to process. I called Mr Wingler and left a message.
I purchased flooring. It was the worst experience ever but we bought it, installation was a nightmare. Lowes sent a contractor to install it, nothing went correctly. I did all this for a $350 rebate. I submitted it through mail, weeks later nothing, mailed it again, weeks later nothing again, sent a third time. Nothing
