Kohl's / corporate refund

1 United States Review updated:

If you are returning stuff to Kohl's, and they say they are going to give you a corporate refund, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! Literally just keep the item, it is NOT worth dealing with the corporate refund process. I took about 10 items there to return on September 6 2017, that totaled about $70, and they told me I would receive a corporate refund in 7-10 days. 10 days later, no refund! Called the corporate refund hotline, no answer. Left a callback number. They never called back. Called again the next day and left a callback number. They never called back. When I FINALLY got to speak to a human being, she said they needed to dig deeper into my case and they'd have a resolution in 3-4 business days. I was pretty annoyed because it had already been like a full 2 weeks since the return at this point. But I said okay, and called back in 4 business days. Once again took me forever to be able to talk to an actual human, and then after being on hold for 10 minutes, she told me that the girl that was handling my case wasn't there that day, and that she would call me back the next day or day after that. 3 days later... NO CALL!!! Tried to call again today and of course could not get through to a human and had to leave a callback number again. I am seriously about to threaten with a lawsuit, because this is ridiculous. Long story short, DO NOT EVER LET KOHL'S GIVE YOU A CORPORATE REFUND. IT HAS BEEN THE ABSOLUTE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.

ON 12/10/2017 I was returning 2 things $42.10. I was told that I would be getting the current selling price- fine. All of the sudden I was handed a slip and I was told that a store credit would be mailed to me and I don't get within 7 days to call the number on the slip. Well it's January 5th 2018 and I have been on hold waiting to speak to a person for almost 1 hour. While I have been on hold I thought of doing some research and came across tons of complaints. How can they do that? Why take the items and promise a refund and never get it. While I'm hold I keep getting told that their call volume is high right now... really???? For an hour? Come on. This is not right, I have worked in retail management for 10 years and this is not a way to treat customers. I will never shop there again.

I returned items on 7/17/2018 and the total return value was $48.67. I have been experience the same as described above by jekaterina and the original poster. I have called them 4 times and have waited for hours on line and have never been able to connect to the customer service agent. This is the most unpleasant experience I ever had with Kohls. I would like to know if this has ever gotten resolved for anyone.

Same problem. I returned 164.14 worth of Merchandise at the Flower Mound Texas store and was given the whole coperate refund on 12-16-18. It is now Jan. 12 th and I have tried to call them everyday for a week at 7:01 a.m. and get the same recording. Due to high call volume, we have reached the maximum daily calls. Please call back again. And they give the hours of 7-7. How can they reach the maximum calls in one minute. Total Scam. I am going up to the store and demanding my money. If I don’t get it. I am going to come tact the local news stations and our local Facebook page. They have gotten away with this for the last time. Don’t give up people. Let’s tske them on and get there scam on TV.

Wow, I am so sad to read all of this right now. I unknowingly returned a ring to Kohl's without a receipt because diamonds fell out... I had the original tags from the ring, but not a receipt. They were so nice in the jewelry department and told me that I could exchange for the same ring or get a credit and buy a different ring, so I decided I wanted to try a different once, since I had actually returned the other one twice already. Long story short, they were issuing me an $802.00 credit, and when the lady pressed enter it said it was issuing a corporate credit. I had never heard of such a thing, but was reassured by them that it was normal and that I would get my credit in the mail. Well, here we are on day 11 and I still have no credit and have not been able to reach a person by phone. I have called every day the last 3 days, sometimes waiting on hold for over an hour for nothing. I have left my number for a call back the last two days and they have not called me back. I am sick over this... it is $802.00!!! This is insane! I understand them being diligent, but they are literally holding my money hostage. They didn't have to wait for us to pay them, but now I have to wait for them... and I am even reading that some people don't get their money back at all!! This is madness, and just can't possibly be legal. I don't even know what to do right now, we are talking about hundreds of dollars. Anyone have any advice?!
