I booked a reservation on-line and also purchased trip insurance for a small amount. I booked one ticket and was planning to go back and purchase a ticket for my husband. I paid $121.00.
A few minutes later I received a phone call from an agent who started to put a Hard Sell on me to purchase more coverage at another $20+. I had to argue with him to tell him I wasn't interested and finally he gave up. I told him that I needed to purchase a second ticket and he transferred me to another agent.
That agent went to book the reservation and tells me the price is $378. I said how can that be when I just booked the first ticket for $121. I then told him to cancel the first ticket. He told me I had 24 hours to cancel because I booked an economy class ticket AND had to cancel directly with the European airline. Wh0 makes me call the airline directly? 0 Service.
I immediately called the airline and they canceled & reimbursed my credit card. Here's the kicker, he said that the cancellation window was only 2 hours which I qualified for. If I had waited longer as the Cheapo agent told me I was allowed I would have not been able cancel and then had to file an insurance claim. They lied to me because they would have kept all the money.
My refund was $10 short from the reservation as CheapoAir is keeping the commission. I will dispute this when I get my credit card.
Don't ever use this company. They should not be in business.
Recommendation: Don't ever use this shyster scamming company.
