I joined Spectrum Mobile in May 2025 after being promised three things: 30 GB of Mexico data, $40/month in home internet, and trade-in credits for our iPhone 11. None of these promises were kept.
* In Mexico, my phone had no data. Spectrum admitted the rep promised 30 GB but refused to honor it because their system was not allowing it.
* My internet bill came at $69 instead of $40 — only fixed after complaints.
* The first iPhone trade-in was denied after receiving the new phone because it was not getting done in the right way on their system and they said that.
* In September 2025, the second iPhone trade-in (receipt showed $195 credit) was later denied. After we returned it with video/photo proof, Spectrum falsely claimed the phone was “damaged” and kept it. The photo they sent wasn’t even the right device. They refused to return the real phone.
After filing complaints with the FCC, Attorney General, and BBB, Spectrum finally admitted mistakes, apologized, and issued partial credits ($30 and $599.99). But they still refused to refund the phone or return it.
This isn’t just us — the BBB is full of similar complaints: false promises, denied credits, and fake “damaged” phone claims. This looks systemic, not accidental.
