Carnival Cruise Lines review: Security staff embarrassment

On the Breeze Aug 29/Sept.3 - My wife and I were obeying every rule and vaping in the smoking area on Deck 11. Two security staff with a K-9 came through and pulled my wife and I out of the middle of a dozen people seated in the area and ordered my wife to turn over her vape, which she did with no problem. She even disassembled it so that they could easily see the liquid and we were telling them it was simply a refillable nicotine vape. That was not good enough, they then ordered, not asked, us to follow them (yeh follow - we were escorted front and back) to our room, which was 7228 at the front of the boat. They Perp Walked us through deck 11 above the Lido Pool through hundreds of people who were having to get out of the way. I heard the constant comments about, oh those pot heads are going to catch a flight tomorrow at port. This parade went the entire length of the ship with an elevator ride to boot with people getting out of the way as the criminals were being paraded. We get to the room and allow them to search anything they wanted, but they only let the dog walk into the entrance and of course, no reaction. I provided the vape liquid bottle and the idiot read it and said "No this is nicotine"... that is what we have been telling you Sherlock! He then doesn't really apologize, he gives some lame statement about they do what they do in this way so as to not embarrass the guests...?... you just escorted us through the entire ship and humiliated us in front of hundreds of people... that's not an embarrassment? Here is the fun part, I am a retired 33 year LEO, my wife was a regional Airline Mgr and now retired. We haven't touched any drug in our life. I currently am employed again as an Investigator for a County Public Defenders Office. I have an extensive background on how this could be handled soooooooo much better. You know they make very accurate Delta 9 THC field test kits that are cheaper than you dog... hmmm a simple test and be done would be understandable, having your movements controlled and not being free to leave is called arrest on land, but on a ship, it is status quo. Arrest and release with not even an apology. Mr. Security Director, reach out to me and I can give you the information you need to see that no other innocent guests get accosted by your staff.
