Capital One Refuses to give car back after paid all fees to get car back

Is it a real simple situation the car repossessed paid the 3000 to get the car OUT went to the repo lot to go get the vehicle they moved had to locate the new lot, I got nothing but the run around next thing they say that it's in Las Vegas and they say now it's in LA it's been two months I still have no car and I'm not gonna pay payments on the car until I see it, if they even still have or they auctioned it off because every time we call the department is already done for the day or they're having technical issues with their phone line I cannot get a hold of anybody to resolve this issue I spent a lot of time in hotels trying to locate this vehicle this company is very unprofessional customer service is very hard to understand due to strong accents and they just don't know what the hell they're doing. In addition they have applied my payments wrong making it look like I owe more than I do,

Desired outcome: car back and paid off for all my time off and hotels expenses out of my pocket to locate the vehicle

Capital One Mislead, scam and wrong information provide

Iam really disappointed about capital one credit card. 3 months ago, I file for dispute for my one transanction 6 months ago. Whatever documents they ask me I provide them but they said it's not enough so I upload more documents always in letter they change the date and give me same answer provide more documents. So after 3 weeks I start calling customer service whatever they ask me to provide I provide all documents I used to stay with them line for 1 hour talking to them and upload all documents they asked me to send. After 4 months they send me letter they can't do anything about my dispute because I didn't submit this within a month which I inform them within a month after transaction. So I called customer service to closed my account she told me I will received my statement bill by mail I was waiting for that. After 1 month I see their online account they charge me interest and late fee. I called them up and pay my full bill. Supervisor pickup call their she said if I paid full iam not going to responsible for any charge. Next month I see they charge me again interest fee then I call them they said it's their policy that's why they charge me interest fee even though I paid on time before due date full amount and my account closed is well. They are scam people and disrespectful. Every customer service represtatives every time give different kind of answer for same reason. Big scammer be aware

Capital One Credit card division

Capital One credited a $7,636 check to my credit card account with a $0 balance, resulting in a credit balance of $7,607 because they also decided to charge the $29.00 annual fee against this check. Payment was made by mail from a title company on my behalf to my Capital One Line of Credit for $7,636. The title company could not stop payment because the credit card division cashed the check incorrectly. The credit card department said the only other way to resolve the matter was to have the check mailed to me "after a waiting period and then up to 10 additional days for processing." Both departments verified that the title company sent the statement with the correct account number and address. However, neither department had a method to resolve the mistake made by Capital One. The individual with the Capital One Line of Credit assured me the matter would be fixed when I called on day one. Three days later, the issue was not resolved, and no one had the courtesy to inform me that the transaction could not be corrected. The credit division could transfer the funds to the correct division, nor could the funds be transferred to my bank account, nor could it be expedited by fed ex or another carrier to my attention. So, in summary, Capital One made an error and refused to take responsibility by expediting the return of funds as presented for payment toward my Line of Credit. In addition, Capital One continues to charge interest on my Line of Credit while holding over $7,000 in an incorrect account. When contacting Capital One the message says I should receive the check in 60-90 days.

Desired outcome: Expedite my funds as a result of an error made by Capital One.

Capital One Capital One Charge ending in 1168

Dear Sir

I am about a payment that I made on Oct 11,2022 of credit and another

payment out of my checking account. I talked with a supervisor and explained the situation, I was told that the credit was applied to the balance. I told him that I didn't know this. I explain my situation, and he said he would correct the payments and apply to my charge payment. Now I am receiving a email saying that I have missed a payment. I am writing for you to help with this problem.

Your attention will be appreciated

Capital One Card 8964 hacked. Never got new card new # 0035

Card ending in 8964 was hacked. Customer service said they would have to give me a new card, which I should have in 10 days. When I called customer service today, they said there was an error in sending the card. Now they tell me that it will be another 10 days to get the card. I have been a good customer for many years and I feel that I am being ignored. I know you can get me my card faster, but customer service said they have to follow procedures. That's good to say, but I am the one that had the problem. Usually complaints to larger companies seem to get lost. I hope this one doesn't

Desired outcome: NEW CARD NOW NOT ANOTHER 2 WEEKSCard that was hacked ended in 8964 & the new card , which I never got ends in0035. Leonard Katz [protected]

Capital One Quicksilver acct

Capital One (QuickSilver acct) Adrianna of Escalations dept in Florida refused to transfer me to the Payment Processing Dept. At the end of the conversation when I asked to speak with the proper dept, she stated she was the only one in that dept, but come to find out she stated that she was in the escalation dept. I asked again to speak to the manager of Payment Processing and she again refused to transfer me, she asked what is the nature of the call, I exclaimed payment processing, I asked her for the TIN or the EIN which are one in the same, she stated that she could not do that, could she help me, I told her that I need to speak with the manager of Payment Processing so that I can set up payments, she stated what is this regarding I stated the 1099, she stated that she didn't know anything about that, I told her again that I need to speak to the manager of Payment Processing, she then stated that we don't do that for customers, I told her that not true that I'd just submitted with another company she stated that, "well we don't do that". Then she stated that she was going to talk to her back office and they told her again that, "we don't do that for payments, that your acct would have to be closed" so I told her to close it, she stated that she can't do that because it's not in collection, I told her to transfer me to Payment Processing then, she still refused me. I want this person fired immediately, and I will be reporting this to the FTC as well and the Attorney General's office, if someone does not get me to the proper dept. Also I let her know that my credit was pulled without my knowledge when I applied for credit and when I asked for an increase, both of which are a violation of my rights, according to 15 USC 1681 (b) and section 605 (b) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Also being denied credit is a violation and being told that I owe them money is a violation when all debts are already paid according to HJR 192.

Desired outcome: The resolution for these violation is $1000 for each Inquiry on my credit report and for each violation. I was every inquiry removed from my credit report and for every time my credit is pulled again, that's another $1000 fine.

Capital One Checking, CD, Saving

Capital One stated that they decides to freeze all our accounts because they suspected fraud. They only freeze our accounts because I told them what happened. Their protection doesn't work. They are only trying to protect themselves and not their customers. They will end your banking relationship just to protect their incompetence. They will lie about their failure to protect you as a customer and place the blame on you and your joint owners. Their incompetent representatives will give you the run around. After my joint account owner filed a complaint, they mailed a letter stating that I asked for the account closure when I did not. Absolute lies. For my complaint, they finally admitted that one of their representatives was the one who make the mistake. They are just using this as an excuse. In my letter, they stated that they are happy to reopen my previous accounts which is also a lie. I was told that there was no way to reopen closed accounts with the same account numbers. I already asked at the branch. As a former customer of Capital One of 20+ years, take your business somewhere else. Hope Capital One lose more customers because they are not looking out for their customers, only themselves. Good riddance.

Desired outcome: Capital One fined for their business practices, failure to protect their customers, causing emotional distress, and pay any late fees/damages.

Attempt to sign in my account but got 2 step verification. WHAT? I didn't put 2 step verification on but whatever. My kid (at work) has my cellphone so instead of text I have thier system call me on landline to get a code. Phone rings, I answer, system says "press 1 for code". I press 1 for code FOUR times. Their system is not recognizing when I press 1. Now I have to cal & hour & half all I get is "they can't do this they can't do that". Now I'm yelling at the 4th agent. Can't send me email? Really? Walmart charged me 3x for a cancelled order. They tell me it's been reversed. Really? I'm looking at my acct. right now, on my desktop and those charges $442.20 are still there. So my available balance is ZERO & it's 3 days before CHRISTMAS. Nothing they can do...really? They can't fix their archaic website? The reps are only doing their job. IT' S a CAPITAL ONE PROBLEM. How about hiring more tech support & give the Reps the ability to actually help the customer.

Capital One I want my info I need to transfer my balance.

I am locked out of my account because their reset passord function is broke. My card is expired and I wish to transfer for my account but can't because I don't have my old card. They request a picture of my drivers license which it is my policy not to provide since it proves nothing. I can recite all my personal info off the top of my head to them but still they won't give me my expired card number. I want nothing more to do with Capitol one and shouldn't be held accountable for any late fees, I tried to pay them today unsuccessfully. How can they hold me hostage like this?

Desired outcome: And any late payment fees waived because they won't let me into my account to pay and today I told them I wanted to pay by phone and was ignored.

I agree. my complaint has to do with the requirement to upload an unredacted version of my drivers license. They say they will keep for 7 years. They won’t say how it proves anything. If someone had all my information they could just as easily have my drivers license. I sent a redacted version to prove I had it and offered to send a notarized affidavit of proof of identity. I have used the card for over twenty years without any problems.

I had one declined purchase using eno virtual cards. I verified it was me via the email and they said to try again. It failed again. I verified on the phone twice more. Each time they said to try again. Now they say they can’t help me unless I do this. They said my card would remain restricted but I didn’t do anything “wrong “. They said they couldn’t even send me paperwork that explains what “restricted” means.

Capital One credit card

I have had several credit cards from Capital One over the years and got rid of all but one which I have had for about 30 yrs. My card was paid up when I opened the statement yesterday it showed I was charged a 39.99 membership fee and then a 25 dollar late fee. My card had expired in May of 2022 and I was never sent a new one as it is now the middle of Oct. I called to dispute the charges and was told they would not remove the charges. I explained that I should not have to pay a membership fee for a card that I cant even use since it had expired months ago. I was then offered an up to date card which I declined. This card only has a 900 dollar limit and I have better cards with 15 thousand for a limit with no membership fees with other companies so there was no reason to keep this card but I would have if the charges were removed. I told the person on the phone I would keep the card if charges were removed and they said they couldnt remove them. I cancelled my card over this and it baffles me that u would rather lose a 30 yr customer than remove charges for a card I couldnt use since it was expired. Sorry but I will never apply for a card of yours again nor will I recommend it to anyone. Your card did nothing for me, nor did your company. Im very disappointed on how u run your business. Its all greed

Desired outcome: I would like to know why they would rather lose a customer than drop a membership fee and late charges on the membership fee when they wont get that fee anyways, now that I cancelled my card.

Capital One capital one bank account

Apparently Capital One Bank has frozen and/or closed my bank account and I'm not sure why. A close friend of mine gave some money to me 2 weeks ago which was deposited on Oct. 7. the amount was $1,500. I'm quite sure he wired the money and also that it was deposited. I was able to talk to them the day after the deposit and they were questioning why someone would send that much money to me and who my friend was. They wanted to talk to him, which I found unusual and I had him standing right by his phone waiting. They never called.

I'm a senior citizen and a veteran and I live on a very sparse income. I need my money to pay bills and for the better part of the last 2 weeks no one will talk to me. I try very hard, but every single time they tell me to leave a call back number and they will get back to me. I've done that 5 times and no one has ever called.

I have some large payments due tomorrow and I need to get my money ASAP.

I have a new bank locally and they could just wire it directly into that account. I sincerely appreciate any help. Newton Mullins, [protected]

Desired outcome: I need my money RIGHT NOW

Capital One Payment not received

Hello, my name is Savannah Strobert. My phone number is [protected]. My email is, az.[protected]@icloud.com. I work with Hilton. They use a company called Daily Pay; I signed up with them. Daily pay gives you access to your money before you get paid. I took $200 out of one of my pay checks, therefore Hilton automatically routed my pay checks through them. When signing up, I swapped the last two digits of my bank account number. I did not realize until not receiving my pay check. I instantly called Daily Pay and they told me it was sent to 'xo' account. I then realized I swapped the last 2 digits; I called Capitol One and told them it was sent to this exact account and I asked if it was active account my pay check was sent to. They confirmed that it was an active account. This happened in April of this year, it has been a full 6 months. I have still not received my pay check. I have talked to several people and managers at Daily Pay and they have all told me it is out of their control since Capital One has confirmed the funds were sent to an active account and they did in fact receive them. They have told me multiple times there is nothing more they can do. I have talked to even more managers and supervisors at Capitol One. I had one gentleman tell me I would be able to get my money back and things like this do occasionally happen and that it shouldn't be a problem at all. I have had a couple of kind people over there try to help me but they always end up saying there is nothing more they can do and I must reach out to the sender. I have provided them my 15-digit trace number several times, as well as have them send letters back and forth between their "higher up" departments. They have investigated it and done so many other steps with the same result. It has been ongoing with multiple people and multiple conversations. I am being turned down by everyone and this is my last resort. Anything you could do to help me I would really appreciate!

15- digit trace number: [protected]

Exact amount: $1,155.39

Date of deposit: April 28th/29th

Desired outcome: I would appreciate my full pay check the total of $1,155.39

Capital One Unfairness from capitol one for making extra payments my card was taken away restricted

I recently opened a capitol one credit card trying to fix my credit $300.00 with payments of $30.00 i had a balance so i decided to make big payments like $200.00 -150,00 and also $20.00 in every payment i got 2 comformations from capitol one and email from capitol one saying thank you for your payment your payment has been posted so i assume my payments were made and now i have extra money to go buy dinner .Next thing i notice 1 week later my $20 payment got returned so i pay $50.00 again not knowing why then i make like $450.00 payments in 1 month and then they say my $150.00 gets return after 2 weeks when i got a thank you payment has been posted and then they restrict my card after having it for one month i call to talk to custumer service with warren he sems to not care i explain situation and he doesnt try to help ou that its not my fault that i was reassuured my payments were made so i spend my bank money knowing i paid payments that were not even due i just wanted to lower balance and stay in good terms with capitol one but my intuition was that warren from custumer service was racist because we spoke spanish he had augly attitude and was not accepting none of our explanations that i paid payments that were not even due i had the credit card 1 month he still adds pay them on time when $30.00 payment was due after the day i spoke with him and i had gave prior $400.00 payments capitol one does not help its custumers its really strict and should fix the way they give reciepts recomandations dont give reciepts and emails saying you recieve payments and then next week you say oh no we didnt because that just not fair to us as custumers because if it says posted then its paid but i quess even if warren speaks perfect english i know better that posted means paid some one should explain the defenition of posted to capitol one .

Desired outcome: I WOULD LIKE CAPITOL ONE TO LOOK AT ITS MISTAKE BECAUSE MY CREDIT CARD WAS RESTRICTED CLOSED IN LESS THAN A MONTH FOR MAKING EXTRA PAYMENTS THAT WERE NOT EVEN DUE TO FIX THEIR PAYMENT RECIEPTS AND EMAILS RECIEPTS

Capital One Unable to transfer funds out of CapOne bank account

For years I have been transferring funds back and forth from my CapOne savings account to my Wells Fargo checking. Suddenly, two weeks ago, I was unable to make any transfers. My external account disappeared from my options to transfer funds from CapOne. I have called many times, keep getting the run around and apologies, but no solution. I have been on hold with Capital One for many hours over the past two weeks. The only solution they have is to have CapOne send me a physical check, which will take another two weeks.

This borders on criminal theft, and the amount is well over a felony. My only recourse is the Comptroller of the Currency.

Desired outcome: Fine Capital One. Get the balance of my money out of that bank.

Capital One Savor credit card

My wife applied for a Savor Card and it was granted and issued. When she tried to activate it she was told that she needed to give them her cell phone number, as she only has a land line that was not enough. When we tried to speak with the cc card reps, the first and second men who answered were barely able to speak english. A third rep was asked for a supervisor, he hung up on her. We finally had to cancel the card that could not be activated. When we tried to get help on the general Capital One line... more unintelligible english followed by please apply for the cc again.

It is obvious that they read from a script and their formally great customer service has gone in the trash bin.

Desired outcome: How about being a business again...you lost a customer, wasted mailing a new card to someone with an 800 point credit rating and I as her husband now are considering looking elsewhere for cc's. Reach out to her and activate her card!

Capital One Customer service

I called to get information regarding my auto loan payment. My car was totaled on 9/9/22. I made the payment the following day, on 9/10/22, even though I had no car and had to get a rental car and payment for insurance. I called today to inquire about not being obligated to make the payment for October due to the car being totaled and the insurance will be paying it off. The representative hung up on me in the middle of me asking a question. I was told that she could not send me anything in writing and that I should just wait until the insurance company pays the car off. Meanwhile, my credit reflects nonpayment for each day that it's not paid off. When I asked what position Capital One is taking regarding me not being obligated to make the payment, the representative hung up on me. It was extremely difficult understating her due to the heavy accent, and I had to ask the representative to slow down and to repeat herself numerous times throughout the call. She had zero reluctance when expressing her impatience by sighing along with long pauses. I have only had a few encounters with the representatives at Capital One because I have paid this account on time for the life of the loan. However, those encounters have been difficult and unpleasant. The language barrier was exhausting and time consuming.

Desired outcome: To have a clear understanding of my obligation to Capital One regarding the October payment and to email me something in writing for my records in regard to the October payment being included in the pay off.

Capital One Travel

- Booked flights for xmas return on Dec 28, using points.

- Paid an additional $63.00 for the reservation to be refundable/cancelable (not a word)

- Logged on to make a change to the flight due to it now showing a layover. It was originally a direct flight from PDX to PHL on Delta and I HAVE PROOF!

- Spoke to Grey, the top Supervisor (so they say) and was informed if I cancel, I will only receive 80% back. Well, this was NEVER disclosed when I paid the money to make it cancelable/refundable, I told them. This person also said it's in your terms and conditions. NOPE, no mention of 80% is in my terms and conditions. Vague verbiage is there however Capital One Travel is committing Fraud and a switch and bait here by advertising that this can be canceled for a fee and they DO NOT disclose how much you will get back. And NO it's not in my terms and conditions on the ticket. This is what it states:

Refund. Upon a valid exercise of your option to cancel for any reason, Capital One Travel will refund to you a portion of the flight cost (including taxes and fees), or, if offered by the respective airline carrier for your ticket and you so select, a travel credit, subject to the airline’s terms and conditions. The refund portion is specified upon your purchase of the cancellation option. Reimbursements should be processed within 1-2 billing cycles. If assessed by the respective airline carrier, Capital One Travel will cover any applicable cancellation fees for the travel credit option. Airlines are responsible for fulfilling travel credits.

Exclusions. The option to cancel for any reason does not apply following the earlier of:

a. A cancellation of any flight by an airline carrier for any reason, including the result of a force majeure event;

b. Any voluntarily cancellation or change requested by you directly with any airline, or, if applicable, through Capital One Travel’s rapid rebooking service, of any tickets subject to the cancel for any reason;

c. A declaration of an “emergency” or similar “extraordinary measures” taken by any governmental authority in the destination city, region, or country of your Capital One Travel trip, or issuance of a Safety and Security Alert by the United States Department of State or a Travel Health Notice Warning by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for such destination; or

d. A designation by the World Health Organization (WHO) that the destination city, country, or region of your trip is at risk from COVID-19.

In the event of such cancellation, or declaration of emergency, alert, notice, designation, or other similar government action, your option to cancel for any reason shall expire immediately and a refund of your Capital One Travel purchase will be subject to the fare rules imposed by the respective airline carrier for your ticket.

Travel Credit. When elected, you will be provided a travel credit subject to the terms and conditions of the respective airline carrier. Travel credit restrictions can include limitations to availability, flight routes, and passengers. A full description of terms and conditions can be found on the respective airline carrier’s website.

Refund Reductions. If you purchased the option to cancel for any reason from a price you froze through Capital One Travel, the cost of your cancel for any reason option, and the amount of any refund in the event you elect to cancel, will be based on the final price you paid for your frozen flight. Similarly, if you received a price drop protection refund after purchasing the flight subject to the option to cancel for any reason, the amount of any refund in the event you elect to cancel will be reduced by the amount of the price drop protection refund you previously received.

Modifications. If your purchased Capital One Travel trip has been modified at your request after booking, the “cancel for any reason” will apply only to the original amount of the purchased trip. Certain modifications, such as changes to a passenger name or changes not applicable to all passengers on a multi-passenger booking, may require that you contact Capital One Travel at [protected] in order to exercise your option to cancel for any reason.

Not insurance. The option to cancel your flight purchase for any reason ensures that the respective airline carrier’s tickets purchased on the Sites can be canceled for any reason without incurring additional fees. Capital One Travel provides its customers with this option to provide a more seamless and flexible experience for travel booked through the Sites. The option to cancel for any reason and the related terms and conditions are not intended to constitute an offer to insure, do not constitute insurance or an insurance contract, and do not take the place of insurance obtained or obtainable by you.

Contact. For any questions, please contact Capital One Travel at [protected].

A consumer MUST be informed of what charges they will incur prior to agreeing to anything!

Then I went onto the website and under the Cancel for any reason this pops up! I was not informed prior to paying the $63 for this feature? Well I can't attach the proof I have so that makes this really hard to detail?

Capital one is misleading travel consumers big time. All this Grey person did was argue with me.

Also the refundable fee, it was not explained that it was only on Delta? Really?

ANother item is also false advertising because you will be looking at flights and they want you to lock in a price. So let's say it's American Air or Delta and you say okay I would like to freeze that. You do and then they send you Spirit airlines crap. It's not okay to mislead consumers like this travel dept is. It's a scam and it's fraud

Desired outcome: End capital one fraud and deception

Capital One Credit card transactions denied

I am nearly 60 with a credit rating over 800 and have had a CapOne CC for many years. I use it daily as my first form of payment. I just provide that to let you know that this complaint is not facetious.

Over the past month or two have experienced multiple "Card Declined" issues at businesses that I frequent often. For example, every week I spend $80 to $200 at Walmart or buy a pizza at Dominoes.

The first time my card was declined, I was in another state that I visit annually and buying groceries at a store. OK. I get that particular red flag.

The remaining occurrences have been at Walmart within 10 miles of my home for typical amounts. The first couple, I got the test and email asking if the purchase was valid. Of course, this was after several payment attempts and embarrassment each time.

Today was again at my usual Walmart for an amount of $145. I just called customer support and was connected with a fraud "specialist". They needed to confirm this and two other transactions on my account over the past month. A Dominoes' charge of $13 and a Home Depot charge of $19. All of stores are within 5 miles of my home! The specialist said that I shouldn't have any more trouble since we cleared the "questionable" transactions. I was not able to get any particular communication escalated through the specialist

I'm logging this review because I want CapOne Fraud to know that something is wrong with their algorithm and it needs to be addressed.

Desired outcome: Response from CapOne Fraud that they have adjusted their algorithm or altered its use on my card.
