Bosch junk dishwasher

I purchased and paid top dollar for a Bosch dishwasher that has not worked properly from the day it was installed. In fact, most days it does not work at all!

Customer service is a joke... Both that of Bosch and trying to find someone in my "area" that does repair work on this brand. Btw.. I live in a major metropolitan area! I have had this dishwasher "repaired" five times, including having the entire control board replaced, and it still does not work! Every time I have a company to my home to do repairs it is someone different than before because the previous company will not do business with Bosch anymore either!

I have never been more disgusted or dissatisfied with a company or product in my life! Do not waste your money!

Well it is to soon to tell . I had a Bosch disherwasher for 10 years and it never broke down . It was heavy used ever day for the 10 years we had it . So we just got a new one and it is made some what cheaper than the old one . Plastic door latch I see for one thing . Stainless steel in the inside is the same . But on the outside it has no nickel so a magnet will stick to the out side . Nickel in stainless will resist acid and rust . So like I say only time will tell . Can not recommend a new product because one year they are the best the next they make junk and you are paying for the name . Also most appliances now a days is throw money away junk . One last thing the Bosch dishwasher is real quiet . I do not hear good and thought it was not working when I got done installing it . I was wrong it did work . It was a little harder to install but it is a better idea they came up with for the electric . You have a electric box that you have to but underneath the sink . Also holes are lined up so they do not kink up . 11/6/2017 I installed it today

Bought a Bosch dishwasher less than 3 years ago. Soap dispenser does not work all the time. Hard to get to run a cycle. Sometimes takes ten or more tries to get it to run a cycle. It will seem to start (making noises) but clean light will come on in a minute or so. Sometimes it will work first time you try, other times it takes several attempts. Turning off breaker for a while, holding start button for three seconds etc. sees to have no effect. It seems like it is running the end of a previous cycle but attempts to reset do not work. Extremely frustrating, no competent service help, and generally poorly cleaned dishes. Never purchase a Bosch again.

Bosch beware

Ahh, the Bosch stainless steel gas range. When you go to light the oven, you cannot light the burners. When you go to clean the shiny surface, you end up wiping the letters off for the controls. When the oven is hot, you can burn yourself if you touch the right corner of the range top. Ahh Bosch. Why or why was I such a fool to buy such a worthless piece of junk? Did I learn my lesson. Yup. Never again, and I hope you will never make the same mistake. Don't be be led astray by appearance. Underneath that shiny oven is shoddy workmanship. Beware!

Bosch electronic warranty

On Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 2:45 PM, L. Holzer wrote:

Hello ComplaintsBoard.com

1/18/11

This is L. Holczer and I am glad you contacted me to confirm my posting. Anyway I sent off my last notice to BOSCH with an attached picture of mine (their) "burnt out" control module. I also mentioned that on my Care & Instructional Manual which included my unit plus

five others, the SHU33 was included. As I mentioned in my previous post the SHU33 was one of several units required by the U.S. Product Safety Commission for recall because of the control module. Do they really think that a "how to" guy wouldn't figure out that their circuit board in all these units is probably the same. AH DUH !
Now why this is a potentially dangerous problem is that along with flooding, the machine motor might stay on until it burns out. I first noticed my problem when the machine which was in quick- wash mode was still running after nearly two hours. I (according to the manual) stopped the machine, and it emptied the water inside. The next day thinking that maybe because we had opened the door to add some dishes had somehow screwed up the timing of the wash cycle. Unfortunately we did another test wash the next day at which time the motor keep running however this time water flooded our kitchen floor. And that is when we called our authorized Bosch Appliance dealer who recommended us our very good repairman, the owner of Davis Appliance, Glenwood Landing, N.Y. Anyway I am writing to tell you that an hour after I posted with you BOSCH has agreed to reimburse me for the expense of the control module. Again I do not expect them to guarantee the repair, my repairman has given me a year on the module, but I did not see how they could deny their own warranty concerning a either a flawed design, or manufacturing process concerning this electronic part of their machine. Otherwise when working this unit performs well, and is extremely quiet.

Thanks for your help,

Lou Holczer

Bosch control module

After less than four years our Bosch Dishwasher -model # SHE42L 15UC - burnt out. As it was the day after Christmas we waited until 12/27/11 to contact our appliance dealer who recommended a good repairman. He figured out that it was the control unit, ordered a new one and replaced it. As Bosch has a five year warranty on its electronics I expected them to cover the cost of the control module. After several E-mails they refused to cover the cost stating that I had not used an authorized Bosch repairman. As I am not asking them for the cost of the repairman ($150.) nor a warranty on the repair itself I find their position on the matter unacceptable, and totally without class. In addition it should be noted that Bosh has already had a “recall” concerning its dishwasher control module on SHE43C, 44C, 46C, 56C, SHU33, 42, 432, 43C, and 53A. As these modules are all similar to my unit, I think the evident speaks for itself; they unfortunately designed a flawed control module, or have an outside vendor with a manufacturing problem.

Bosch premature failure

I purchased this Bosch AquaStar 240FX, quite expensive water heater based on Bosch reputation for quality. I wanted to do my part to save energy, so spent more than twice
the cost of a conventional water heater. It functioned well for 2.5 years,
then stopped working. I thought "no problem", the warranty was a reasonable
5 years, similar to a "normal" water heater. I failed to read the fine print however. 5 years was for the heat exchanger ONLY. The rest of the parts were
warrantied for ONE YEAR ONLY!?. The failed part, the main circuit board was FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!, almost half as much as a new unit.
Even the cheapest conventional water heater lasts more than a couple years. This is my second bad experience with Bosch, as I had an early
failure of a dishwasher as well, where the replacement parts far exceeded
the value of a two year old appliance. I'll not consider purchasing another Bosch product. Beware an advertised warranty length to be sure it's on the whole product before purchase. To add one more complaint, I was on hold for over 2 hours for tech support to diagnose the problem

Bosch unreliable and not friendly serice

Called Thermador service, now operated by Bosch, on a Monday before Thanksgiving. Technician came on Tuesday morning, as promised. Tech had no idea of the problem, even though it was spelled out with the CRM the day before. The tech had to order parts from CA, and said they would be back in 3 weeks to install. With over 20 people coming over for Thanksgiving I was in shock. No one could care less, the tech said this was not his issue, and was not in his region anyway. Called CA office 10 times between Tuesday and Wednesday...only to find out that the parts would be there on Wed. but there was no one to install them. Begged and offered money for overtime, but to no avail. When I asked what we should do with our Thanksgiving and our out of state guests, she said, I can't help you...and so on and so on. They made no effort. I WOULD NEVER BUY BOSHCH OR THERMADO PRODUCTS AGAIN...this was not the first incident with them, and won't be the last...very disappointing how little effort they made. They honestly could not care less..

Bosch horrible company, horrible product, horrible customer service!

Our home came equipped with a bosch aquastar 125b ml hot water heater. Within a month of moving in, we began to have problems with the unit. Approximately two weeks ago, the unit broke, and failed to provide any hot water. My husband contacted bosch customer service, and spoke with a "technician". The technician was very rude, asked many irrelevant questions, and was severely lacking in knowledge regarding bosch products. The technician stated that the problem was a defective thermocouple. We were told that a website called www.houseneeds.com is the only place where bosch hot water heater parts can be purchased. So, we logged onto that website, and had a new thermocouple overnighted to us. Due to the fact that the technician wasn't very knowledgeable concerning bosch products, he was unable to provide us with a part number. So, when the part arrived, we realized that we had ordered the wrong one. The website that bosch sells their parts from doesn't provide customers with the opportunity to enlarge pictures of the parts. When we entered the information (Model number, serial number, etc.) for the unit that we have, houseneeds.com provided us with two different thermocouple options. Again, since the bosch "telephone technician" was unable/unwilling to provide us with a part number, we weren't sure which thermocouple to purchase. The fact that houseneeds.com refuses to provide adequate pictures didn't help our situation. Bosch and houseneeds.com have a strict no return policy. So, we were stuck with a thermocouple that didn't go to our unit, and we were out nearly $30 for overnight shipping costs. Upon realization that we had the wrong thermocouple, we purchased the correct one from houseneeds.com - again, because the telephone technician told us that the thermocouple was the problem - and again had to overnight the part (Another $30 in shipping fees down the drain.) when the second thermocouple arrived, we installed it into our unit. Still nothing. By this point we were going on over a week with no hot water, and we have three children! We went to the bosch website to find service providers in our area.in our entire state, there is only one service provider who deals with bosch water heating products. We contacted this individual, who was extremely uninterested in helping us. He stated that it would be several days before he would be able to come and look at it, and that once he came to look at it and determine the problem, it would still be several days before repairs could be performed, due to the fact that nobody other than www.houseneeds.com carries bosch parts. He too was very rude, and had absolutely no people skills whatsoever. We then proceeded to contact at least 20 different plumbing companies, all of whom stated that they were completely unwilling to service bosch products due to the fact that bosch hot water heaters were "garbage" and that parts were all but impossible to come by. Finally, as a last resort, we contacted our propane company to ensure that our hot water heater wasn't malfunctioning as a result of gas pressure that was either too high or too low. The service technician for our propane company came out, and was able to determine that the cause of failure was a missing pilot oriface. One tiny little part that should cost no more than $0.25. Of course, since bosch parts aren't available anywhere, and one is forced to do business with www.houseneeds.com, we are unable to order just the pilot oriface, and instead are forced to order the entire pilot assembly, and again be out a minimum of another $30 for shipping if we want hot water anytime soon. I contacted customer service at bosch this afternoon to register my complaint with the entire process. When the individual answered the phone (After being on hold for 30 minutes) I immediately asked for a supervisor. The rep informed me that every single supervisor had left for the day. I told him that I didn't believe that, and that it was highly unlikely that every member of management had left, and left an entire crew of employees to fend for themselves. The rep argued with me, and told me that it was common practice, and that the reps are always left by themselves in the evening hours. I proceeded to explain the issues we've been having to the rep, and told him that the way things have gone so far is highly unprofessional, as well as completely unacceptable. He stated that if the original phone technician had told us to purchase a thermocouple, then they would refund the cost of parts and shipping fees. He placed me on hold, and then returned only to tell me that he couldn't find any notes left by the previous tech suggesting that we purchase a thermocouple. I explained to him that the previous tech must have failed to include proper notes in his entry, and that we didn't just purchase a thermocouple on a whim. He continuously interrputed me, raised his voice, and kept repeating that there was nothing they could do for me. I told him that it is ridiculous that there is only one bosch service provider in the entire state, and he proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for not researching properly. I asked him what he meant and he said "bosch parts are hardly available, and there are very few service professionals contracted with bosch. People should look into that prior to purchasing bosch products." I explained to him that I did not purchase this bosch product, and that they should stand behind their merchandise and make things right. Again, he decided to cut me off, and keep repeating himself that there was nothing he could do for me. I again asked to speak with a supervisor, and he said "there is nobody I can transfer you to. Just me." I said "I don't believe for a second that there aren't any supervisors there." at which point he said, "I didn't say that there weren't any here, I said I can't transfer you to anyone." he then proceeded to tell me that he would not be speaking to me anymore, and that I should call back tomorrow. His behavior was totally appalling, and completely unacceptable. Even though we did not purchase this particular bosch hot water heater and it was in the house when we bought it, we are still being forced to order bosch parts and bosch is still making money (Too much money!) off of us, and therefore we are still bosch customers and should be treated accordingly. I have read pages and pages of negative reports concerning bosch on many websites, including /link removed/ and complaintsboard.com. This company should not be allowed to remain in business if they can't even stand behind their own product!

Ditto! It is too bad as they used to have great customer service. I purchased my second Bosch Hot Water Heater only because the customer service a couple of years ago was superb. My first water heater had a problem and I spoke with Wade Rielly who overnighted a new one to me right away - it arrived the next day and I then returned the broken one. I purchased my second Bosch for another home in June and by December it was a piece of crap and not working.

After many phone calls to their New York call center, where I spoke with some of the rudest people on earth - Sean, Clifford and Joe, I researched a bit to find Wade. Well they moved from VT to NH and I did locate him, but now he couldn't be bothered returning customer calls. Even the girl on the swithboard agreed with me about the New York call center and told me the guys in New Hampshire were great! Oh, really!

I got Drew on the phone and all appeared hopeful. Drew told me they would do a courtesy return and then all of sudden everything changed. I explained this heater was in the home my 85 year old mother with Alzheimer's lived and he could care less. Now I have to jump through hoops - I don't think so. What they didn't realize was only yesterday I ordered 2 water heaters for two apt. units and I canceled them today. No more Bosch for me - I am returning the dishwasher which is not used and will never purchase another Bosch anything again. There is always Rinnaui. Good Luck Bosch you are going to need it - as YOU SUCK!

Bosch bad service

I have a Bosch drier purchased 2 years back. I am a full time working mom with two little kids so my drier is very important for my regular routine.

My drier stopped working on August 26th 2010. I have a home warranty. So I called my company and they associated us with Mr. Appliance. I talked to Mr. Appliance on August 27th and they agreed to send a technician on September 8th during business hours. Hence I had to take time off from work and stayed home for the technician. The technician came over on September 8th afternoon and after his so called investigation he said that one of the parts is broken and he will need to get it ordered from Bosch. I proposed at that time for him to bring the part from Lowes because that is where we had got our drier from but he said that they have to follow the process and order it from Bosch.

I kept calling them to check on the part all next week and by the time they could come to fix the drier, it was September 17th. The technician again came back during business hours (so I had to take time off from my work), and after his trial and error, he said that he had ordered a wrong part and there is actually another part that is broken and will need to order that from Bosch. At this point, it was more than 3 weeks that my drier was not working so I was not ready to prolong it longer. Hence I asked the technician to get the part from Lowes and try to fix it. He was so disrespectful that he started walking out of the house while I was talking.

Hence, I called Mr. Appliance office in Richmond. I could get hold of their Manager and he was not ready to listen to me. I was a little upset because:

--> firstly his technician did not investigate properly for the first time and ordered incorrect part

--> secondly I was not ready to wait for another 10 days

--> thirdly he was so disrespectful.

That Manager was no better and he never accepted that it was an error made on their part.

Anyway, I got a call from them on September 23rd that they had received the part from Bosch and would like to come and fix it. So again I took time off from work and stayed home for the KING technician to fix my drier. He came and tried to fix the drier with the newer part and that part did not fix the drier either. By this time I could not take it any longer because it was almost a month for me without my drier. Hence I asked him to get the part from Lowes and this time his manager agreed. So he got the part from Lowes and the drier started to work after a month FINALLY.

If he would have agreed on the first time to get the part from Lowes and not Bosch, I dont think we would have landed in so many inconvenient issues. These guys have no courtesy and they have no EXPERTISE. On the top of that, they dont have any Customer Service based approach.

I would caution anybody who is dealing with Richmond (Midlothian) based Mr. Appliance of not taking their services. They will keep prolonging the issue but they miss the Expertise and still dont have courtesy so listen to your suggestions which ultimately they end up following.

I am curious to know what part you needed that Lowes would have had in stock. Lowes is not a parts store, so the only thing I can think of that you needed and Lowes would have is either a cord (which isn't something that Bosch even sells) or perhaps a lint screen. I know they carry coil top range burners, lint screens, vent cleaning and coil cleaning brushes, but not any interior parts for a dryer.

Bosch within 3 weeks i've had no feedback from them

I took my vehicle to Bosch Service Centre for a minor service towards the end of July 2009. While in the workshop my vehicle was involved in a collission with another customer's vehicle. They promised to have my car fixed - no problem. Within 3 weeks I've had no feedback from them, when I eventually got my car, the hooter was not working, the car had no power and it was smoking like a tractor. Now another 6 weeks later I still did not receive my vehicle, and is now told that the turbo has packed up and needs to be replaced only to be told the next day that sensors needs to be replaced only to be told ... I'm still awaiting a final answer on what needs to be done to have my vehicle fixed. I've requested the reports from the various people involved without any success. On 3 October I was told that my vehicle will be ready for collection on 6 October but when we went to pick up my car was told that the parts have not arrived yet and could still not take my vehicle home. All I want is an honest answer and my car back in the condition I handed it over to Bosch Service Centre Silverton.

Monday 19th October decided to take my car to a Bosch service center in Sunninghill for a service, there was also a transmission fluid pipe to be relpaced and they said not a problem will cost R5300 for the service and parts. I agreed and when collecting the car on Thursday the 22nd October did not get outside the shopping complex gates when I had to turn around and take the car back.

The car had no power, was misfiring and sounded like a tracktor underneath the driver seat. The guys asked me to please bring the car back in the morning and told me it sounds like the exhaust. Knowing the cars power and capabilities before taking it in for a service and driving it now i knew i could not take the car back to Bosch.

I took the car to Volvo the next morning and was shocked to receive a R8000 bill to repair the damage that was done to my car. When i phoned the Bosch dealer back he put the phone down in my ear and then my blood really got boiled and i told him exactly what i thought of him.

Volvo had to replace the spark plugs, coils, engine mountings Bosch broke when they suspened the engine to fit the spares, replace the power steering panel, re-programme the gearbox.

Bosch installation rebate

Purchased a Bosch Dishwasher from Sears in mid-April - had it installed in July (manufacturer product delay) - applied for the "agreed upon" installation rebate from Bosch through Sears and have placed several calls to find out where the rebate check might be. No follow-up from Sears at Solomon Pond Mall. Still calling to get some assistance from the Sears "large appliance" dept. Rebate was put in when the dishwasher was purchased on April 23rd 2010

I bought a Bosch dishwasher under the Veteran's Day promotion where I was supposed to get $150 Back in a rebate and I got a postcard stating I didn't attach my receipt. I called and spoke to 3 different people who all claimed that my receipt was not legible. When I sent the receipt and rebate form, everything was fine and it was within 24 hours of making the purchase so it's rather fishy that they can't read it. I asked the Supervisor' s manager to call sears and confirm my purchase but they refused to do so.

I am very disappointed in the company's business ethics and I highly recommend not buying their products based on their customer service.

I was told to repeat the mail in process and I asked what would happen if the receipt magically became not legible again and they wouldn't answer. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them and felt dumber by the time it was over for having to try and force common sense on them.

I recommend contacting the BBB, Attorney General, and CFPB with this unethical company if you're in the United states.

I too have been duped by Bosch. I purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Sears with a rebate of $149.99 for the installation. I applied for the rebate shortly after my purchase. So, it has now been over three months since I applied for my rebate. Bosch even sent an email on March 03 that was rebate was on its way. Today is April 06 and guess what? No rebate. I have been on the phone, on hold, with Bosch for hours only to be disconnected. Now the latest is their rebate processing center where you press 1 to speak to a customer service representative. You then get redirected and push 1 again and receive a "invalid response" and are asked to call back later. I finally called Sears to have them look into my problem. They too are going to get back to me.
Here is a bit of advice, if Bosch or Sears really wanted to make the cost of buying their product more affordable, why wouldn't they just give you the discount up front? This whole deal with Bosch is they try to wear you down and give up on getting your rebate. DON'T BUY ANYTHING OFFERING A REBATE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT TO TRY TO GET IT. THEY JUST WANT TO WEAR YOU DOWN UNTIL YOU GIVE UP.

Bosch mailed a form to me stating that my old dish washer was unsafe. They gave me the option of having someone repair it free of charge or giving me a rebate towards the purchase of a new unit. I purchased a new unit ($1000) in order to qualify for the rebate, sent in all of the applicable forms and two months later was denied. This is very frustrating. Should have just kept old one in place instead of being coerced by these thieves.

Bosch I am extremely dissatisfied with the dishwasher, but I am even more dissatisfied with the bosch company

We have a Bosch dishwasher, model SHU 5300, that has stopped working. After a brief online search, it is apparent that there is a defect in the circuit board of this particular model. Many consumers have had problems with it and many have posted complaints. The dishwasher is only three years old. Bosch will cover the cost of a new circuit board, but will not pay for the labor. The Bosch repair people want to charge us $100 to enter our house and look at the dishwasher. The labor would be above and beyond that minimum amount of money. Considering this is a problem that has been reported by MANY owners of this same model, one would assume a company such as Bosch would stand behind the product and offer to cover the expense of the repair. (Honestly, one would assume Bosch would have issued a recall and fixed all of these defective machines before allowing so many customers to be unhappy.)

I am extremely dissatisfied with the dishwasher, but I am even more dissatisfied with the Bosch company.

Bosch poor organization, maybe scam!

This company, that is evidently owned and operated by Sears, is both incompetent and completely disorganized. Ten days ago they sent a service man to our house to investigate why our Bosch dishwasher was not working. We had selected Sears foolhardedly, it turns out, because we thought that we did not want to mess around with a local repair man who had no training on our product and that we wanted a professional company, with access to Bosch warranties to work on our three year old dishwasher. I took the day off work because they could only tell me that they would arrive between 8 and 12 that day. The service man arrived at our house and immediately called someone for advice. The person on the phone advised the serviceman that there was no problem with our dishwasher. Our problem had been that the dishwasher would take three times longer then usual to clean dishes and sometimes would never end the cleaning cycle. Upon hearing this news that we had no problem, we told the service man that the source he had talked to was wrong. We once again explained what was happening. The service man made a second call, and sure enough, a new diagnosis was made that we either needed a thermostat or a heating coil. He ordered both parts, charged us $287.00, and set up an appointment for today which required two service men. The parts came almost a week ago. Sears called us last night and confirmed that they would be here today between 8 and 12. They warned us that we should call them if the parts had not arrived. I took another day off work to meet their service man. At 11:00 am this morning we got a call telling us that Sears needed to cancel the appointment today. They could not reschedule an appointment until the end of the week. I have lost two day's work and when I called to register a complaint with their service department, I was told that their computers were down and the supervisors were in a meeting. Stay away from Sears Service at all costs and A & E Service specifically!

Bosch poor customer service

First called 2/1 to tell them that Bosch stackable dryer door hook had snapped off - bought from B&S five years earlier as a washer/dryer unit for about $1800. Arranged to have technician come for "assessment" even tho I told them what was needed. Blizzards came and it was rescheduled. Technician called 2/16 and because I read the #on the dryer door, he was able to handle assessment on phone - charge was $99.95. On 2/19 when I came home from work there was a message from B&S asking that I "authorize" the ordering of the part - couldn't call until Monday as they were closed and not open weekends. On 2/22 I authorized the ordering and also a charge of approx. $106. When the part came in, the first Monday or Tuesday (my days off work) that was available was today so I set up the appt. with the technician. He arrived during the window that was given to me and within 10 minutes was out the door. I just feel that over $200 for having this expensive dryer repaired when I knew exactly what part was needed is excessive; additionally, from Feb. 1 to March 8 is too long - even with blizzards! They have lost me as a customer for anything.

Bosch Employer Reations

Ronnie Weems of BSH New Bern, NC head of Security has sexually harrassed me with Al Jones a contractor. They have caused me so much stress and didn't help me when I was being harrassed by the mail lady, instead when I put a two week notice in they would not let me return to my job. I was only doing what I thought was right by the company by leaving since no one would help me.

They came on night and was asking us to do a bag check, that someone had stolen a palm pilot and the language they were using was just so insulting. They would say sorry I am not used to a girl being around, and that's an outright lie, there are women all over the company and since they are best buds with the plant manager Mr. Tucker, as they all ride bikes together.

They really treated me terrible, language, not helping me when I was being harrassed as they are supposed to. Which I have copies of my emails and sound recordings to back this up.

I even watched Al Jones lift a ladies shirt up, she had just married a man inside, but that activity should not go on in the work force, she was not married to him, and yet I think most are afraid of him being the plant managers best friend.

There are Forklifts left in isles with propane open and do nothing about it, we had a gas leak for a week and they didn't do anything right away to fix it. That was so dangerous for all of the employee's but most didnt know about it. Putting lives in danger is not doing your job.

I have contacted the NC Labro, WorkForce, Lawyers, Sexual Harrassment law suits and many others are taking this very serious.

This kind of treatment Must STOP!

Bosch - never buy bosch - bad products, horrible after sales service

We bought a bosch washing machine (Maxx) on recommendation from an electrical retailer who claimed bosch washers are excellent - and later found out this is the understatement of the century! We were very dissatisfied from day 1 - the machine took too long for a normal wash cycle - about 2 hours, furthermore - the washed fabrics came out smelly and full of...

Bosch doa

Bought the unit online from houeseneeds.com. Installed the unit and it doesn't work. Contacted houseneeds to be advised unit is not returnable because it had been installed (Like i'm suposed to know it's dead by looking at the box?) was advised to phone the service line but live in a remote area with no phone service. So I emailed a help request form found at boschhotwater.com, 4 times... No reply to date (2 weeks)
Do not buy any products from bosch or houseneeds... They will sell you junk and cut you loose to fend for yourself!

Bosch endless cycle

Do NOT invest in any Bosch appliances for your house! I built a second home and outfitted it with what I thought was the top of the line appliances; Bosch diswasher SHE531UC, washing machine, and dryer--within 3 years the washing machine started to make a metal grinding sound so I contacted the authorized repair man. $250 for parts/labor--2 wks later it was worse and then stopped working completely. Repair man stated that it was defective and couldn't be fixed. Called Bosch customer service (used loosely since they are useless and not happy people!) and they told me that it was installed incorrectly and there was nothing that they could do. Less than 2 yrs later the dryer stopped working--some mysterious defect that resulted my purchasing a new dryer (obviously not a Bosch!). And now as I sit here typing my dishwasher which is only almost 6 yrs old has been cycling endlessly...goes down to 1 and sits...This is evidently a "known" defect for this machine but Bosch won't even tell you what part it is so that you can order the replacement...Worthless!

Bosch dust in oven widow

We have owned our Bosch range for four years. During the first year we noticed there was dust in between the glass in the oven door. There is no visible opening where we could see how it got in there and there is no way for us to access it to remove it. It's kooky looking and not what you want see as you check out the roast in the oven. The vendor referred us to Bosch and Bosch advised us to get an independent tech. This obviously occured at the factory so we do not see why it should be our expense. It's devalued our "top of the line" kitchen.

When I use the big burner for 20 minutes full blast, the plastic inside the knob softens up and it makes it very difficult to turn off the burner. It also becomes IMPOSSIBLE to re light the flame on the big burner. BOSCH sucks the big one.

Bosch unable to repair

Re: recall model shu43c. Bought a bosch dishwasher in march 2005 from lowes. It worked fine for awhile, but cycles were taking longer and longer to complete (Hours). I called sears in feb 2008 for a repair. Sears estimate to repair was $400 for a controller part. I declined since I didn't pay that much more for the machine initially.in early 2009 I got a "recall letter" from sears. Worked with bosch and sears under repair authorization a186476 to order part and sears installed it on march 14 2009. Machine still had very long wash cycles (Hours) so I called bosch again and they recommended a different service technician (K&n services). Bosch faxed authorization to k&n, so I don't have record of that authorization. K&n came out and re-worked the control board, and the machine worked for a few months. I called k&n service to come out on october 29, 2010 because I suspected the heater wasn't working. (Dishes were sloppy wet at end of cycle). The cost to repair the heater is in excess of $400 because the machine will have to be pulled for underneath the cabinet and re-installed. Heater (Part 80317) cost $122.71 retail. Technician suggested I call bosch to see if they would cover any of the costs, and sugggested that the sears guy was responsible for heater failure due to faulty installation of control unit. I called bosch and they said that the heating unit would not be covered as it wasn't a "fire hazard". They offered to sell me the part at a 50% off their cost, and ship it to my home. If I had trouble with sears installation, I would have to take it up with sears. Incidentally, both k&n and bosch bought up the sears liability on their own... Without any prompting from me. I don't know my nest step just yet. I'm hoping to file a consumer complaint of some sort, just getting started.

I also have the same dishwasher and have experienced the same problems described above. We bought ours from Sears and have paid for maintainance on it for 5 yrs. It stopped working 2 months ago and Sears has yet to fix it. They have been out to take a look 3 times, yet the service technicians keep coming up with excuses on why they will not make the repairs. They have ordered parts and shipped them to my home, but no one is showing up to install the parts. I say forget Sears and their maintainance contracts - what a rip off! I'm going out to buy a new dishwasher - NOT FROM SEARS - today!

I bought a Bosch Electric Hot Water heater (Powerstar model # [protected]) 4 years ago. Less than a year later the water heater did not heat water. I called Bosch and they made me prepay 250.00 to send out a new one and would get that back after the old one was returned. They did as promised as well as refunding the ridiculous fee the plumber charged to install the second unit. 3 years later the hot water heater has mal functioned AGAIN. I have been calling for three days and left numerous messages and entered my number for call back at least 30 times. I can only get a live person to pick up on their sales line, of course, they want to sell more products, but refuse to answer the calls of customers with broken equipment. We have two small children and are heating water for a bath on the stove, but Bosch continues to sell and make money, ignoring the people who have already added to their riches. Do not buy anything from this company, they will not honor the warranty nor even asnwer your calls for help. I spoke with 6 sales reps, 3 of which hung up on me, and the other three claiming no way of gaining a supervisor on the line or directing us to anyone that can help, one even went as far as to say that I should send them and email or letter from my lawyer threatening to sue them. Buyer Beware, endless hot water from Bosch is cold in the end! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY HAVE NUMEROUS PHONE LINES AND HELP LINKS WITH NO HELP AT ALL. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN MAKING MORE MONEY!
