Booking.com review: Failure to help settle a reservation issue

On 7/28/2026 I was verifying my reservation at a Hyatt hotel and was told by reservations there is a second reservation under my name made through booking.com for the exact same time. I did not make this reservation, nor do I have any email or other type of confirmation. I have contacted booking.com through email as well as phone and they are not able to help since I do not have the confirmation # or PIN# for the reservation I did not make. The hotel gave me their confirmation # as 1830517 on the hotel side. The hotel is Hyatt Place, 1545 N Opdyke Rd, Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA. The stay in question is check in August 1, 2026 and check out August 2, 2026. I do not want to be charged for a reservation I did not make or will use. Please help.

Claimed loss: Potential room charge + fees and taxes for a room reservation I did not make. $154.00 usd

Desired outcome: Please confirm this reservation has been cancelled and therefore I am not responsible for paying for it. Please help and confirm with me. Thank you very much.
