cleanliness and food
On 8/9/2013 at around 6:00pm on our way back from Canada we stopped at Bob Evans Restaurant in Morgantown, WV for dinner. As we walked into the restaurant I could tell the porches have not been swept since they probably built the restaurant. But trying to give them the benefit of doubt we went inside. Walking to our table to be seated, my feet were steadily sliding. I ordered meat Loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and biscuits. My food was cold and my husband's food was cold. I never send my food back so we made the best of it. When I went to the bathroom the floor had not been mopped for years. A slimy muddy deposit was in all corners with hair. This is not from being busy, it is fifth. Third world countries have cleaner restrooms. I dare to think if the same person cleans the kitchen. Rest areas were cleaner. As we were paying for our meal I asked the cashier for a comment card. Surely someone is checking this restaurant? I was told by the cashier they were out of comment cards but she would check with the manager. The manager came out (with a shirt on that he look like he had slept in with the shirt tail out of his paints) and informed me he was out of comment cards and wanted to know what was the problem. I asked him to step outside because I did not want to see people running out of the restaurant. I discussed with him what all I had observed and he just had an excuse for everything. I have no intention or my family of ever eating at a Bob Evans again.

Please go back and read my complaint again. The bathroom was not trashed. It was filthy. When you look in the corners and see mud and hair there is a difference. I know what trashed looks like and I fully understand trashed. Also notice we had traveled to Canada and back with no complaints. Also call DEHEC and ask them how often do they check these restaurants? You may be surprised. I never complain. I asked for a complaint card. Could not get one. Asked the manager to step outside so no one could hear me. Did you notice I ate cold food. If you watch Dr. Phil he never sends food back because he knows what can be done to the food. Also we were walking from the motel. I know what people look like when they have been working hard. When I said the managers shirt was slept in it was slept in. You may want to watch "Restaurant Impossible" sometime.

i visited your bob evans store on wednesday 7/24/2013, the food was great, the prices were ... fair. but after ordering our food, we heard screaming coming from the kitchen, alot of screaming and could hear it word for word she said "i'm going to bring a gun and blow your brains out", after that i asked our server who it was, and she said it was another server named Jacki Brummet, and she was talking to a manager who was there, i don't know about you but that made me and my family fear for our own lives, if this is the type of people you hire. either way, i've written many many complaints on many sites, and sent one into their corporate headquarters itself, and as just a precaution i've reported this terrorist threat to the police, hopefully they do something about this woman, i'd hate for her to serve my food. DO NOT GO TO LOGANSPORT bob evans unless you are ok with being shot.

My husband, after working full time for Bob Evans Farms Restaurant for 19+ years, was told on Saturday that he would be dropped to part time at 29 hours a week with no benefits anymore! This is an outrageous way to take care of your long time employees! I will never and I do mean NEVER eat there again nor let any of my family or friends even consider eating there ever again!
My husband, after being employed by Bob Evans restaruants full time for the last 19 1/2 years was told on Saturday that he will be cut down to 29 hours a week and lose his benefits due to Obamacare! What kind of work place rewards its long time employees with a swift kick in the pants? BOB EVANS!

Horrible food, wrong order, terrible service
my husband ordered 4 eggs over lite and only recvd two-he was very upset since he stated TWICE what he wanted. i ordered grilled chicken fresh carrots and salad. the carrots were anything but fresh---yikkkkk they had to be frozen for at lst 2 yrs and werent even orange. looked horrible when served and tasted awful. the waitress heard me complain the minute...

While dinning in the Bob Evans Farms a future employee was training on a laptop 2 seats back from us, video up very loud, making sounds like a bird hitting the wall behind us. How annoying it became! No one from the staff did something to stop him.
Maybe it was a training video and the employee had a hearing problem. Did you ask him to turn it down a bit?

The waitress and the manager told me that the recipe for the meatloaf had been changed. The meatloaf that I ordered today was terrible, both in texture and taste.
It tasted as if it had been made of a fine ground meal and not meat. No meat taste at all. I have had this item several times at this same restaurant and liked it enough to continue ordering this meal, but unless you go back to the old recipe or another Good One I will never order it again.
The manager offered me a substitute or another item and I took it.

Poor service. I was extremely disappointed as I hadn't experienced poor arrive from this restaurant before. I made my complaint and was sent coupons in the value of $20. Wow! The story doesn't end there...so today(8/6/12) I decide to utilize those certificates. The service was fine. The waitress was attentive but within 20 minutes of eating there my fiance and I had become very I'll. We became quite nauseous first an then the vomiting and diarrhea came as well. It didn't stop there. With all those symptoms also came a great deal of abdominal pain. Needless to say...I will never eat at Bob Evans again!

Agree...the GI Tract doesn't function like that. Symptoms typically take hours and as long as a day to show. If it happened that quick you probably had an allergy to something you ate and don't realize you have that allergy. And as far as being mad at being sent compensation by the restaurant for a previous complaint...why would you complain about a corporation for wanting to send you coupons with an apology. You seem to like complaining just to complain.
I certainly hope the symptoms subsided when the doctor informed you that it's anatomically IMPOSSIBLE to experience the first signs of food poisoning within 20 minutes of eating ! I must call bull snap on this one. Lol

So about 10 days ago we(my fiance, my 1 year old and myself) went to Bob Evans on 21st and Shadeland Ave.. To begin, we were being seated but someone not in any type of uniform. As we were being seated we weren't asked what where we'd prefer to sit we were told where we were sitting. And as we asked if we could sit elsewhere the "host" proceeded to tell us it would not be a good idea dues to food always being brought through the area. An area in which we were securely out of harms way. Irritated, he sat us in our preferred seating. So we wait to get our drinks as well as our taken. We received our drinks and then waited for quite a while to have our order taken and then decided it was a ridiculous length of time to wait and needed to go based also on our schedule. As we proceed to check out and pay for our sodas the same man who sat us was practically yelling to another employee "what was our problem" and so on. We felt we were being harassed for THEIR

With a 1 year old Im assuming you had a high Chair. According to most restaurant policy, they don't allow high Chairs in aisles or next to booths. This is a safety feature so children aren't in the way of a server or other employee carrying heavy trays of hot food. Sounds like you anted a booth and were seated at a table to keep your child safe. Since you left specifics out Im assuming you know you are wrong to complain yet still feel the need to feed your ego by making others feel you are right. Not all restaurant employees wear uniforms. Management typically wears Dress pants and dress shirts (sometimes with ties). So since ive shot down your seating experience ill address your "Wait Time"
If you go to a SIT DOWN restaurant and don't have at least an hour to an hour and a half...then that's your own fault. Food Safety Requirements, cook times and OTHER GUESTS don't get put on hold just because you walked into the restaurant. MY background...Im a retired Restaurant General Manager with 20+ years of General Manager experience for multiple restaurant both fine dining and casual.
I have never been this unhappy at my job before
I have been bob evans server for 5 years. I have never been this unhappy at my job before. I have always been treated with respect and I thought worked with people that actually cared for my well-being which is why I have stayed with this company for so long. I feel like ever since I have gotten pregnant I have been treated differently and discriminated against.
First of all I moved thirty mins. from my store. There was another store that was ten mins. from my new house and they wouldn’t let me transfer because I got wrote up over spilling salad dressing from a very unpleasant manager. It was a accident and I truly am more clumsy since I have been pregnant. They wrote me up saying I was harming their food cost. Yes over spilled dressing. So their excuse was that I couldn’t get transferred because I needed to clean up my file. I obviously have a pretty good file if it takes something like a accident over spilled dressing to find a reason to write me up or document me.
I am also upset that I applied to be an assistant manager or to be a server leader and I have never received any kind of raise of any sort or promotion. Another girl from my store which I trained has now moved up and became a server leader before this new training she is getting now she only knew how to serve. I have been trained to cook, serve, and host. I have been trained in all of these areas for years now and have never been moved up in the company or got a raise but this girl which i trained one year ago is now a server leader. Why wasn’t I offered that position is it because I am well over qualified.
On Saturday of last week I had to wait on one of the new server leaders table because she let them set their without anything to drink or even a hello for fifteen mins. I honestly don’t remember the last time I had a customer complaint and our new server leader just had one two days ago and I had to be their server plus take care of my tables. Which is not a problem I do it all the time I’m all about team work but for a server leader to need help from me just a server that can’t even get transferred is pretty ridiculous.
Today was the worst day I have had working for bob evans. I told my manager the same one that wrote me up over spilled salad dressing that I would came in to help her out on my day off . Well today I realized that they have moved my doctor appointments from every two weeks to every week because they are worried about my going into labor early because of stress. So I told my manager as soon as i got in the door about how I wasnt going to be able to came in on my day off because I had a doctors appointment. She told me to wait and tell the other manager christina who does the schedules the same manager that has been treating me terrible throughout my pregnancy.
She came into work at 12: 30 . I go into the back of the restaurant by the office and tell her that I forgot about my doctors appointment tomorrow and that i wasn’t going to be able to came in on the day off tomorrow but she had a whole day to find someone to cover the shift. The policy for call ins is that you have two hours before your shift to call in if your not going to make it. I told my managers 24 hours in advanced that I wasn’t going to make it in on my day off because of a doctors appointment. The response I got was unbelievable. Chrissy started yelling at me and telling me that she put me on the schedule and if I didn’t show up tomorrow I was going to have a documentation because she added me to the schedule. I didn’t have a chance to say a word. She went on and on with her voice still raised at me about how I wasn’t going to be able to pick up any extra shifts anymore, and how I was not going to be called in anymore. After she was done yelling I was just like I have two weeks left don’t schedule me after two weeks i want to take my maternity leave early. I wanted to work until I was do which isn’t until August 27th but I can’t take it anymore. A customer heard her yelling from the restaurant and went up to the host ajaia and asked her who was doing all the yelling in the back of the restaurant.That is unprofessional for one of bob evans managers to act so crazy over something so small. I was only trying to help out, and thats how I got treated.
Wow, that’s insane and sadly not a shock. I was an employee at Bob Evans in Florida up until just recently. There was so many things there that were so wrong but the one that was the most was being bullied addressing this several times to management with no repercussions only for it to happen again and again well I finally had it and now I see why there was no repercussions because instead of believing or trying to get answers the management would discuss the complaints I was making with the other employees I was making them against putting me in awkward situation time again. Friday night I wasn’t getting sat on my shift even though I had opened bussed tables. I addressed this with management then and their and she put the door on a wait until the other servers had clear table then by passed me and sat them. Right at that moment I decided I was no loner going to be an employee at Bob Evans. The management was putting me at risk to be in a hostile environment by undermining me just to appease her favorites this is totally unprofessional and I don’t see how the doors will remain open when customers are constantly complaining, people are put on a 40 min until the kitchen can catch up because there is currently 2 cooks only. There are employees that come to work high, sit on the phones, talk cuss swear, ignore customers that are cashing out and nothing is ever addressed. I believe the management there is more worried about their reputation and their favorites then actual Bob Evans it’s quite sad that they are able to even be called managers the way they represent Bob Evans. If you aren’t a favorite or God forbid you should address valid concerns that people should be fired for on the spot then you are seen as the trouble one. If there was any kind of decent management then they would of taken any and all forms of bullying serious especially when it involves purposely causing another server to loose money by not being sat or picking and choosing what tables they will get and usually I only got sat 2 tops, kids or very old couples which I never minded that. I can’t tell you the last time I was sat more then a 2 top, when in reality I could serve circles around most the servers there since they are all teenagers for management to out right ignore my complaint not only that but share what I said to the them so not only did nothing change I was treated as if I did something wrong my schedule got changed, my hours were dropped and my one day shift was given away to the person I made the complaint about for bullying yet another employee there that had just got hired. I am appalled as to how these managers are able to be trusted to further represent Bob Evans. As I was wondering how the employees that were stealing, walking up to other employees out right bullying by name calling or bumping food so it would slow the employee down with no consideration as to the customers food that was being bumped. I am very disappointed in Bob Evans corporate it’s a terrible place to work and I see other employees on here desperately looking for anyone to listen or to be validated. I see that the way it works hard work, team players and rule followers will not be recognized but people who BS you with brilliance and baffle you with brilliance get ahead. A manager grabbed a kid by the arm that had PTSD was not even addressed a women that called me a f*** idiot my first day of training and another who decides to walk up to fellow employee to inform her that her nails were ugly are the ones that get treated the best. Makes sense to me that the management is the same way and instead of representing Bob Evans following the rules that they lay out and inform you of In the interview process is just for certain ones. These management at Bob Evans is the worst I have ever seen in any employment history I ever had because it’s a huge problem when management sides with the employees who are the real issue and the issue will only continue and just like I’m not the only employee that got treated that way I won’t be the last and there will be so many more of these complaints because the proper people aren’t being reached and no one cares to check these complaints address then and figure out if there is any truth to them. Like the complaint of servers picking and choosing who gets sat what when that is hostess job. However the hostess admitted she is top dog there and she trains the other hostess the way she wants. Any manger could of checked the sales of each employee there to see if there was any truth to that. On those nights such as Friday night I only made $40 from 3-8pm. I knew nothing would change and so I felt I had to choice but to quit my job. It’s truly sad to me. The management isn’t even smart enough to figure out a person wouldn’t quit their job if their wasn’t some truth to what they were complaining about I mean I am disabled and this was my first job back since my injuries and I was looking forward to being a long time employee with Bob Evans.
The only reason I choose to post this is the hope that some where in the corporate world of Bob Evans someone of authority might actually care enough to make a change that the Bob Evans in Cape Coral so desperately needs. It sure would keep the complaints down that come pouting in there. Also, I just found out by reading another complaint on here that we had a file well now how do I know my file won’t be written up with things so their [censored] are covered. Already rumor has it that so many other employees tried to complain about management before but apparently they are rebuttal because a friend of s friend is stopping complaints from reaching anyone of authority that could actually do something. I think the boyfriend has some ties to corporate so it’s already a well seasoned rumor that nothing will ever be done to one of managers because of her special treatment of knowing someone. After rereading this I think you did not get the promotion because you are a poor team player. You don't badmouth your co workers to make yourself look better. In other words you don't brag about how you had no complaints and your co worker had one to make her look bad and yourself look good. One reason you did not get the promotion.
2. I am sure that the person who you trained is at least 18 years old. That means she is a young lady not a girl. You don't even know the difference between a child and a young lady.
3. She probably has more people skills than you.

Also I doubt that the person who moved up was a "girl" why would they give the difference to someone who does not know the difference between a "girl" and a young woman. You say you are overqualified, that is what everyone thinks. Everyone thinks they are more entitled to a promotion than the other people. Also making your other workers look bad and yourself look good does not make you a good team player. Perhaps that "girl" whom you trained was a better team player. She does not badmouth her employees online and self promote herself to make herself look good.
You need to be more responsible. Take responsibility for your actions. Not their fault you forgot you doctor's appointment. For crying out loud you are about to be a mother learn to be more responsible instead of blaming your pregnancy for spilling the dressing and forgetting your doctors appointment. Don't use your pregnancy as an excuse when they are disciplining you.
bob evans food and service suck big time on south high street columbus ohio
i went to bob evans on south high in columbus ohio warning the manager gets very offended and will want you to leave and argue you down and will not give you a refund if you have a complaint i ordered the turkey and dressing it came to me and the turkey looked like rubber on 2 ice cream scoops of dressing which it was all nasty the turkey had curled up and there was so much fat on the meat it was pulling and pulling from my fork i lost my appetite the macaroni and cheese was awful the banana nut bread was wet ill never eat there again it made me sick they asked me if i wanted a refill on my drink to go then the manager kept coming back trying to make me leave the elderly people next to me where also mad about their meal also and they also had a complaint which didnt work for her she was not very nice to either of us she told me she assurred my food was made rightand then asked me if i ate it she said she would only adjust my bill and not return my money she gave me 5 dollars off a 17 dollar bill wqhich i had no desire to pay it was all nasty to the condition of the resturaunt to the attitudes of the workers including the manager her clothes looked very dirty i would give them a rating of 1 maybe a 0 and whatever happened to real food in a real resturaunt this never would have gotten by the real bob evans i myself could do a better job at running that resturaunt but im sure they wouldnt want me there i would inspect every order before giving them to the public they should be ashamed of themselves and their district manager should pay them a visit to check out whats goiung on there something is not right
It's called punctuation. It's your friend. Use it. Run on sentences are annoying and make you sound like a 3rd Grader, which makes it hard for me to buy your complaint.

My name is Brenda Young and my daughter works at the Bob Evans store #2025 in Columbia City, Ind.
On Saturday my ONLY brother passed away . Angie
is th GM at that store, and her GAM (Mike Meyer)has refused to help her so she will be able to go to the funeral. The funeral is on Thursday at 11:00am. That is the day she is to work. She is willing to work one of her day off, so she can have just the day of the funeral off. He will not work with her so she can be there to support for me. She even told him that she would come in and work 5:00pm on Thursday after the funeral, and he still refuses to do anything . I think that people that will not help out in a time when family is very inportant isn't much of a person. This is very important for me to have her there, since her brother is able to be there.
It is a shame they are taking advantage of your adult daughter, . Perhaps they are doing this because mommy still fights her battles and she cannot stand up for herself.
I have identical issues... Bought my house 7 years ago. He had a snake realtor then also that promised the world & gave you dirt. The customer service was horrible... The people that worked for Fred are liars & theives. Bad things evetually happen to bad people like Macintosh & his employees. I would never refer anyone to buy a house from this guy. He is the head dirtbag. I hope he meets the same end that THP has met.

I was at this Livonia Michigan Store (# 87 ) on November 13, 2010. I had family in from Kansas City, Missouri and we had a party of fifteen people. I personally selected Bob Evans for breakfast over a local IHOP Restaurant located directly across the street.
When we arrived at Bob Evans around 11:00 a.m. the store was quite busy and had several large parties of African American families dining there including ourselves. The party that left just prior to us being seated was a party of 50 African Americans. As a result a significant amount of money was spent with Bob Evans that day by the African American community.
Right from the onset we had problems with our service after being seated. First and foremost throughout our whole time there we were never approached by the manager on duty who appeared to be an African American male with glasses and wearing a University of Michigan shirt. Our waitress did her best to help all of us but this was made more difficult due to the fact that all of the children in our party were seated at a separate table at the back of the restaurant. Other employees including an African American buser on duty and a Caucasian waitress in the next section over were very helpful and gave our server a lot of assistance. But again the manager never came over. The first problem we had was with two orders of pancakes that were literally raw and soggy. The server had these taken back but told us that they had a new cook who had been making the pancakes raw all day. Again we never had a manager come over and apologize. I personally ordered coffee and an omelet and other than my first cup of coffee no one ever came back to the table and offered me more coffee until the server returned well after we had all finished our food. At one point I got up and went to the server station and attempted to pour my own coffee but the only pot out was empty. I also ordered wheat toast with my order but was brought white toast and the server apparently never realized her mistake so I just kept it. However I was not even brought this toast until I reminded her that I had ordered toast. I also wanted condiments with my omelete like hot sauce but never received any as the server never returned to the table until long after I had finished eating. Despite all of this we did not blame the server or complain and paid our full checks which totaled over $150 in total (only two of which are included).
We ordered their thanksgiving feast delivered. It was missing the mashed potatoes. They offered for us to drive to the store and pick up the rest of our order. Like I'm going to get in my car and leave the house for food that I already paid to have delivered to me. Never again will we count on Bob Evans for a holiday meal.

My husband and i went into your restaurant located in Madison Heights in Michigan for lunch, it was my birthday, when we were sitting having our lunch, one of hostess came near our lunch table with a ladder and started to clean windows around us and other tables! it was a terrible scenario! poor woman was sweating and cleaning every where with a ladder! can you imagine how my birthday went down? i and my husband felt very bad for that lady but there was nothing we could do about it! humanity is dead in our country! for few dollars less payment you abuse people like slaves!
My wife and I went into your restaurant #508 in Towson Maryland today at 3 P.M. to eat dinner. We were seated promptly but it took us another 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. He took our order of Roast Turkey and my Salmon dinner. approx. 10 minutes went by and he came to my wife and said that they were out of Turkey. She finally ordered pot roast dinner. When our dinner finally arrived my salmon dinner was extremely small and dry to the taste. I have been eating at this particular restaurant ever since it opened. The service has gotten extremely slow and the food has gotten worse. I felt sorry for the two waiters today. ur waiter (Collin ) was very nice and very apologetic but very slow. As of todat my wif and I have vowed to not eat there again until the service changes. I wanted to speak to the managers but they were both gone when I checked out at 3:55 P.m. The heavy emphasis on race is because every injustice or bad service perpetrated by non African Americans towards African Americans is made out to be race related. Guess what, people that complain the most about the service industry have never worked in the service industry. Everyone wants 5 Star service at a happy meal price. If you want a 5 Star experience eat at a place that can charge enough per plate to cover the LABOR cost of more servers and or Cooks. Bob Evans charges 10-12 a plate with another 2-3 for a drink, that doesn't cover the Labor cost required to hold your hand. Bob Evans is a Casual Family Dining Restaurant...Will it hurt you to ASK for something if you need it? Finally, paying your Bill at a restaurant is not a negotiation. The prices are on the menu...don't like the prices...don't order the food. Thanks for letting me vent. One late evening I was dining my local Bob Evans and my friend a manager there gave me a quick tour . When we passed the area where the dishes were washed i noticed the waitresses' scraping the filthy plates! I found it somewhat disgusting and when i questioned it he told me it was a policy to have their waitresses clean and stack their own dirty dishes. I had time to watch them briefly as they scurried back and forth no one even was washing their hands. And I thought it was their job to bring my food and take my order cleaning my plates seems like it would be someones job that does not handle my food I will think twice before returning to a bob evans.

There are multiple hand washing stations, and chances are you didn't watch every single server every single time. It sounds like you violated health code policy by being a guest in the back of the house without washing your hands, but It seems you missed that part. Also, you just put your "Friend" in a bad situation by complaining. I think you are probably just a disgruntled employee (server) that doesn't like the policy of cleaning the plates.

Seriously dis-satisfied with the quality and quanity of the Bob Evans Suasage Gravy (product # 4736). I have boughten this in the past numerous times, and unfortunately this time, the gravy was very greasy and had hardly any sausgae in the gravy. I hope this was a mistake, because if this has changed, I will no longer by buying this product.
amount removed from my credit card
I was at Bob Evans on Tuesday 9-15. My meal came to 14.83 but there computer was not working properly so my card was swiped 4 times and low and behold on my bank statement I was charged 3 times for 14.83 and once for 11.83. I have contacted the managers of this store numerous times and they assured me the amounts would be removed but as of this date they were not. I am livid. I think Bob Evans need to revamp their computer system and train their employees on the proper use of this equipment. I will never eat at Bob Evans again. Why is it such a big deal to remove charges when it was not a big deal to charge them to my account.

Hi i would like to know why you took tomato juice, & waffels off your menue we have several fellows in our model railroad group that has breakfeast at your resturant every-other-wensday that do like to get tomato juice-&-waffels it was a bummer when we found out you don`t carry these items anymore the fellows that like the tomato juice always use pepper & tobasco sauce members, range anywhere from as low as{ four to as many as twenty-four} and a lot of them do like the items that you removed, the manegment & and wait staff are fine not a problem one, would you please bring those items back thankyou

store 146 We frequent Bob Evans 2 to 4 times a month. On 7-5-09 at 9a.m.we walked in and asked the hostess to seat us with Trish (our favorite waitress). She looked at the stations, came back and seated us. A few seconds later a different waitress came to our table. I asked if Trish was going to wait on us. She said her station must have been full is it ok if I wait on you? Initially I said ok and she served us coffee. As she walked away I started to think why didn"t the hostess tell us Trish wasn't available and give us the option to wait untill she had something available? I ended up talking with the manager and she did give us Trish and moved our table. The reason I am voicing concern is because the hostess lacked communication and disregard for the customers wishes. Just wanted to share this information. Thank you, by the way Trish is an outstanding employee/waitress!

My name is Goldie Roberts and me and my husband Tony ate at Bob Evans in Paintsville kentucky on 4-1-09 . We had to wait forever for our waitress Michelle to take our orders! One of the other waitresses had to bring our order out! my husband had ordered A salad which he didn't even get so we made her take it off the bill! Michelle was to busy talking and flirting with three boys sitting across from us to care about any of her customers! Once I went up and refilled drinks and the rest of the time the other waitress had to do her job! went there for breakfast food was awful and i mean awful i ordered eggs, okay potatoes were overcookedand burnt sausage was good then rye toast burnt i mean burnt husband ordered steak and eggs well same was his potatoes overcooked then there was the steak they served him a piece of ( POT ROAST BEEF) it was a chunk they put on grill and made well done what a bunch of garabge they served later waitress told us cook called off well replacement cant cook restaurant 0065 order 240645 amount $22.38 i paid and left not to return to that one
As usual got over cooked and inedible food. Don't know why I even bother to order from this company. We don't have a lot of choices in Hillsboro. But I can get over cooked chicken at Walmart or Kroger.
11/26/2015 Thanksgiving both Portsmouth stores ran out of turkey before even the dinner hour. New Boston store had been out of the carryout dinners since "last week" after catering a nursing home. How do you run out of turkey on Thxgvng? We were regular customers, at least once a week, but will now spend our money next door at Applebees.
11/8/15 9:08 a.m. Bob Evans #414 Server Dara L (It was a Man) not sure if Dara is a gentleman. Possible manager. On my way to work stop to pick up breakfast. Not my first time here usually I go there at least 2 times during the week. He was not friendly at all did not speak just said what can I do for you. I Said I want to place a carry out order and he said what are you ordering and I said well I would like a menu to look at and was handed a menu. Placed my order got my food and got to work 22 minutes early to enjoy it. I spent $12.38 on breakfast no receipt number to reference this but there is a 11/8/15 R6 09:08 at the bottom near my order total. I ordered the Border Scrambler Oml breakfast with a side of bacon well done and biscuit. The bacon was perfect, my biscuits was hard my omlet has a few egg shells in them and I had no condiments no ketchup for the home fries no butter or jelly for the biscuit no sour cream for the border. I no this stuff comes with it because this is what I always order. When ordering they always ask do you need any (butter, jelly, sour cream, or would you like a side gravy for the biscuit) never was asked so I assume this would be in there anyway. I called them to complain at [protected] 4 times this morning and no one is answering the phone. They were not busy when I was there waiting, but may be when I tried calling. I don't usually work Sundays but did this as overtime for company because we needed help. So know I'm at work HUNGRY took my Medicine on a Empty stomach because I refuse to eat that. If this is an usual thing to have your food over cooked and inedible why do you keep going back. I get it you are a six year old child and mommy and daddy get to pick where you eat and the food is not really as bad as you say it is you are just fussy.

All managers go through a back ground and criminal check which must be flawless to work for this Company. What does it take to be a manager at Bob Evans. Last evening we were on our way back from down south where there are a lot of Cracker B arrels. We had eaten at several of them and when we got back to Ohio/Wva we decided to eat at Bob Evans because we really enjoy your food. We stopped at #0103 restaurant in Vienna, Wva. We sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to wait on us then we sat there for another 30 minutes waiting on our food once someone did take our order. We received everything at the same time when we did receive it - rolls, salad, meal, etc. We asked to speak with a manager and when she came to our table we told her how we felt about the service and we weren't the only ones unhappy. There were a couple other tables in the same situation. Jessica was our server. The manager just said well I am sorry I will give you 20% off your bill. This is not the point - why wasn't this server qualified to do the job. She just walked around wasting time = like picking up a cup, picking up a tip and piddling around while customers were getting irritated. When we got up to the register to pay our bill several folks were there complaining about Jessica. When we paid our bill the manager was at the register and even tho she had told us she would take 20% off the bill that wasn't done either . But like I ssaid, this was not the point. This manager really didn't care about her employees or customers.
I don't quite know how to make this complaint, so am just going to say this.,
For several years now there is a group of about 10 to 12 people from church that go to early 8:30 service, then at 9:30 we go to Bob Evans for breakfast., we have never had any trouble with getting in, ordering, or getting our food without much delay until, about the past 5 or 6 months, (ever since the remodeling was done)service is not good at all, and the orders plus trying to pay at the register is a joke., this morning was the straw that broke the camels back I guess. The waitress, really not all her fault, but it was the kitchen we think., we got in at 9:45, did not get our food until about 10:30 or so, and then 2 people never did get theirs., orders were not right either., never once did the manager come by to see if everything was ok or nothing., she is a joke too., it seems as though the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
I personnaly think that it is the Mgrs responsibility to keep track with what is going on in her restaurant.
I am sorry, I normally don't complain about things of this matter, but we all agree that management should know what is going on in the Marion, Il Bob Evans Restaurant
Did the manager reach in his pants and groan while looking at your daughters? In most parts of the world, 16 and 18 year old women are married with a couple of kids. If you don't want any one to look at your daughters put them in burkhas. However, it is probably more to do with WHO was looking. Had "Steve the Manager" been 22, athletic, and good-looking you probably would have thought it a compliment to your good genes that he took notice of your daughters. You might have even given him your daughters' cell phone numbers. Give poor "Steve the Manager" a break! He came into puberty when the halls of his high school were swarming with teenage pheromones, and it was considered acceptable (and probably even desirable) that he would take notice. Poor "Steve the Manager" is probably prematurely aged and lonely due to his crappy job. Were your daughters 6 and 8, then you would have a legitimate gripe. They are 16 and 18, pumping out pheromones, and looking fine. The usual clientele of Bob Evans is 50+, and he probably doesn't make even $10/hr. Bob Evans gets what they pay for, and so did you. He wasn't expecting two nubile young women to come into his restaurant. The poor guy was powerless to their charms. Take it as a compliment and shrug it off. To make matters worse, you didn't leave poor Chris a tip. Or is it that he didn't notice you, and you feel cheated?

On Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 the Bob Evans Restaurant in Plainfield, IL were out of the featured meal of Baby Back Ribs when I ordered them at 5:50 PM. They were advertised to be abailable after 4:00 PM. It was too early for them to be out of the ribs. I will probably will not stop there again.

Purchased a sleeve of your single serve mashed potatoes bar code 7 5 9 0 0 0 0 5 8 7 in Spotswood N.J. Microwaved and when I began to stir noticed blacks specs through out the potatoes. Absolutely disgusting. Not sure what they were and am not sure I really want to know. Noticed other similar complaints and am questioning your quality control.

My husband and I eat at Bob Evan's A few times a month. Today we had breakfast there and the sausage was trouble. Not sure what happened, but it taste like a Burger King Flame grilled burger!

Barbera, restaurant bathrooms can get trashed very quickly. I'm a chef and I see it all the time. I've seen spotless restrooms become hog wallows in a matter of hours. Also, why would you not send cold meals back? When you encounter service of this type, go to the corporate headquarters and tell them of your experience. When I'm not happy with a product or service, that's what I do, and most times I am sent a refund or coupons to compensate.
Foxygrandma. As a chef, I know first hand the workings of the health departments inspection practices. I have worked in everything from mom & pop places to fine dining establishments as head chef, and have had inspectors offer to ignore things in exchange for free dinners, a box of lobster tails etc. There are a lot of factors that go into restaurants being passed up or given a undeserved good rating.
