I sent a check to my landlord on Sept. 16 but it was intercepted. I rewrote a check for my landlord when he told me on Sept. 29 he hadn't received the first one. The next day, Bank Of America called to ask about a suspicious check. We talked and I told them that the check was meant for my landlord and not to honor it and asked for charges to be filed against the fraudster. They seemed to understand and we finished talking. However, when I checked my legitimate bank account at Ridgewood Savings Bank, I found the forged check they had cashed AGAINST MY WISHES. Now I'm looking to get my money from them.
Claimed loss: $1,538.00
Desired outcome: The return of my money. I don't care if they press charges against the thief and I don't need a fake apology.
