I have been a Bank of America card holder for more than 10 happy years BUT recently I was left on my own. The problem is with the BOA Pending Charges Policy. Customer Service has no idea how to help. There has been a pending charge on my account which has diminished my spending limit. The transaction is now 11 days old. I contacted the merchant a...

On August 21, 2023 I closed my business account that I never used. I was asked why I wanted to close my account, I said I never received the card for this account after asking twice. I also stated that with a few fraudulent charges to my personal account, I do not want to take the chance my business account will be tampered with. The person that wa...

I attempted a balance transfer for a 0% offer on my BofA credit card. While doing so I noticed an overcharge from a vendor and called customer service to get it resolved. I asked the CSR if the dispute transaction would cause any issues with the balance transfer and they said it would not. I filed the dispute and then went online to file the CC balance...

Bank of America New business bank account

I visited your bell road brand to open a new business account around 3pm. The staff at the reception was quite welcoming, took my EIN number and searched for it however asked to come back at 4pm since I didn’t have an appointment. I went out and came back at 4pm and asked to wait for the business banker to finalize with client then she could see me. The business banker acknowledged my presence promising to be with me shortly. While Waiting for the business banker, the home loan staff called me to her office only to tell me that the business banking specialist is not available and if I could come in the following day at 9am. I asked her what’s going on coz I had come on earlier and asked to return at 4 pm to be attended by the business banker and now asking me to come back the following day? I retaliated that they should open the account as it would be unfair to have kept me that long only to turn me down. She asked me for my EIN number and she asked me what kind of business I was to run and I told her group home and all the care that comes with it like Counselling, Doc appointments etc. she then asked me to wait as she sought help from the branch manager who accompanied her back. To my rude shock, she told me that they cannot open an account for me since I was not specific on the kind of business I wanted to do yet I mentioned a group home. The manager insisted that I didn’t mention that to her staff and that they would not open my account coz I failed screening and added that there is a lot of fraud in similar businesses as I was not being specific. I asked her if she could hear from me since she was now with me since her staff misheard me coz I mentioned group home to her . She categorically told me that she believes her staff and will go with what she said and not what I was telling her. By this time I was so furious by the managers attitude, choosing the staffs side and completely locking me out which was very demeaning, embarrassing and discriminatory. I asked her if in Bank of America the customer is not head and could considered right and she was categorical that she believes her staff and not me which was very infuriating. My experience left me wondering what kind of organization Bank of America is. I have been a banker for over 25 years in an international bank and I can tell you that my experience left a very bitter taste as I expected world class service however received the contrary. I still don’t understand why they declined to open my business account and why the manager refused to hear me out and would like a clear explanation of why that attitude and mistrust as if I was a fraudster as manager insinuated which was very belittling and heartbreaking. I am still in shock.

Desired outcome: response to my complaint

Bank of America Debit card and third party app

within 60 day I had a some over 18,000 in fraud charges from a third party app, now in the 20 years I have been with BOA I have never had any so many withdraws to an cash app, because they said they had my IP address and my birthday they would not pay back but while they looked in to which took 88 days they came up with only 2,700 that they would credit back to me, in the meantime they gave me a temporary credit so I could make my bills then told me afterward if the claim is denied I would have to pay it back. Now I owe BOA 6,500 of my money. doing my research people can use your IP address and I found out my information was on the dark web. I am so sick over this and I don't know how to get my money back, any help would be appreciated.

Bank of America Credit card

Greetings,

My name is Boris Medvedev, I reside in Slidell, Louisiana. Approximately two weeks ago, I received an offer in the mail for a credit card with terms that I found appealing. I applied for the offer and was approved.

On 8/3/23, I received my new card in the mail. I downloaded a mobile app as per the instructions on the card, but the app only gave me one option to "schedule an appointment". I then went on to bankofamerica.com and attempted to log in using the same information I used to create an account with the mobile app. The website would not allow me to proceed past the log in portion. At which time, I called the phone number on the card. A lady who answered the phone was polite and advised me to go to a local branch to "get verified". I found it strange but did not argue. I looked up the nearest branch to me and was surprised to find out that the nearest branch to me was 172 miles away.

Being a rational person, I did not get into my truck, that gets 9 miles to a gallon, and did not begin a journey to the nearest Bank of America to get verified for a credit card. I called the number back, I was prompted to type in my social security number, and after a minute of waiting in silence, the line hung up. I repeated the previous step, and once again I was hung up on.

I googled Bank of America customer service number and called it. Thankfully, this time another very nice person answered the phone. I explained my problem to her and after a back and forth that lasted approximately 20 minutes, this person advised me that I would have to drive 172 miles to get my issue resolved. I asked her what she would think if she were asked to do the same task, at which point she wished me a good day and hung up the phone.

Of course, at this point, I began to feel like I was being pranked; anyone in my position would. I deduced that the issue may have something to do with a fraud issue. So, I called the fraud department number for Bank of America. After speaking with a polite person for approximately 30 minutes, we circled back to the same outcome - travel to Bank of America branch, there is nothing I can do. As one would in this situation, I asked to speak to someone with more advanced access in order to assist me with my issues, and 10-15 minutes later, the person on the phone referred me to an automated character named Erica via the mobile app. I advised the person on the phone that my mobile app only provided me with an option to "make an appointment (remember that from earlier?), so I did not have a way to communicate with "Erica", at which time the person from the fraud department transferred me to the customer care team, despite my objection.

After being transferred to the customer care team member, I was assured that my issue would be resolved in a timely manner, and I was advised that we needed to get in touch with the fraud department (remember where I was just transferred from). Once that was accomplished, I finally learned that my card was blocked, however, no one would tell me why. The person on the phone asked me for my phone numbers, which I provided. She then told me that my phone numbers could not be verified, therefore, I needed to go ahead and travel the 172 miles to the nearest Bank of America branch.

By now, you can probably imagine that I was no longer interested in having this credit card activated, but I learned that I would have to drive my happy behind (remember the 9 miles to the gallon) just to have this card cancelled. Whoopie! I will get right on that.

I am a police officer, but due to my enormous family obligations I also have another job and I own a small business. I say to this illustrate how important my time is to me, and how these 3 hours I spent dealing with this issue affected me, as I am sure many other people who will now despise your organization due to your practices. Through all of my methods of acquiring income, I deal with 5 different financial institutions. Not ONE time did I ever have to step out of the comfort of my house or my office to open an account or to close one.

My objectives in writing this complaint are following:

- If this is a standard practice for your bank to perform in person verifications then stop offering your services in the states where you do not have branches.

- Management is a very important part of any customer service industry. If a customer continuously requests to speak to a manager, your staff should not refer the already upset customer to an AI character instead.

- It would make me less upset, if even one person in your enormous organization could find a way to use any or all forms of my identification to cancel my account without me having to drive 172 miles to see you in person.

Desired outcome: See narrative

Bank of America Safe deposit box

My wife passed away Feb. 2, 2023. She had a B of A CD, a Checking Account and the Safe Deposit Box. I was appointed Executive of her estate by the Probate court, Chatham County, GA. B of A satisfied the CD and Checking Accounts with Payment. The local bank representative refused to open the safe deposit box due to a co signer on the account. I have both keys (2) to the box. They cannot tell me the name of the co-signer. My lawyer states these people are breaking the law by limiting me access to the wife's belongings? My job is to gather her estate belongings and report to the Probate Court.

Desired outcome: To allow me to enter the box, gather whatever belongings, and close the account.

Bank of America Did not receive monetary award when I left the company

I started working at Merrill Lynch in October 2007. In September 2009, Merrill Lynch was purchased by Bank of America. I received an award for $25000 in November 2009 for completing the FAACAP program. This was tracked in my wealth choice account. I left Merrill Lynch in November 30, 2016 and asked Bank of America to payoff the balance of my credit card with money from this account. I tried to work this out with Bank of America over the next year but never reached a solution. I was never payed this money and the credit card went into collections. The balance was over $60000 when I left and since then the credit card is now a judgement against my credit. I have a statement from 2014 with the wealth choice plan and can provide that.

Desired outcome: I would like the judgement paid and removed from my credit and receive any funds left over.

Bank of America fraud

In the past 2 months I had to get 4 new credit cards, because as soon as I activate them within 24 hs. there are fraud charges. This last new card I never even activated it, yet today I see that there was a charge made July 25th for $17.19. My concern is how does anyone even use a card that is not activated, also I'm starting to think that this is an inside job.

Bank of America Mobile home foreclosure

My husband purchased a 1980 Bayshore Mobile Home LAG5325

RD1737A RD1737B Serial No. In 1984 and in 1988 we divorced.

My Ex-husband died in 1993. I have had no information from any one about this account. In 2023 I received a tax bill for [protected] forwarded from My ex-husband address. This is 39yrs later and why Bank of America did not contact me about this account. I don't have account numbers or even where to find any information on what Bank of America has done about the mobile home. I'm sure it foreclosed after 39yrs. However, my name is still on the county records as a registered owner. I need to get it transferred back to the legal owner. Which is Bank of America.

You would really think a bank as large as BOA would handle a mortgage account a little better then just forget about it until someone contacts them.

This account is so old no-one can tell what to do about it. I moved out of the area in 1988, but didn't fall off the face of the earth!

Bank of America Online digital fraud

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you because I have been involved in an online fraud scam with Bank of America. I have filed a claim with Bank of America and filed a police report regarding this issue. The total amount of my fraud claim is $4,400. Bank of America keeps declining my claim. I am very unhappy with the services I am receiving from Bank of America regarding this online fraud scam and feel like I am being dismissed without this issue being seriously addressed and taken care of. I have called the online support number multiple times and nobody has been able to provide me with the proper help. I trusted Bank of America with my money and have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. There was no fraud protection provided by Bank of America when the funds were being sent to the other person. I feel very unsafe having my money in the bank where scammers can easily have access to my funds without being verified.

I would like to get detailed information on my claim status regarding what actions were taken and if Bank of America was able to identify the person money was sent to and if yes, why can’t Bank of America hold that person accountable for their actions? I have all the needed proof that the money that was sent did not have promised return of service/item (aka apartment rental). I am a travel nurse that always rents out different apartments in different states and haven’t had any issues before. I put my full trust in Bank of America to have my funds fully secured and protected. Now I am questioning Bank of America’s interest in protecting their clients’ funds. I would like the proper and correct actions to be taken and my funds be returned to me. I appreciate your time and will be waiting on your response. Thank you.

Valentina Kruk

[protected]@hotmail.com

Desired outcome: Please refund me my money for a total of $4,400.
