I am Victoria Genshakah, a concerned individual, sending this in regard to a comment left by one of your employees, Michael Ama Ezeafulukwe, under a BBC Igbo post on Facebook.
The post in question was a video, published on 29th April, 2025, in which the twin sister of a woman, (Osinachi) who died from constant physical, mental and emotional abuse perpetrated on her by her husband (who the courts have found guilty on all counts, and have sentenced accordingly), gave a heartbreaking account of the horrific experiences her late twin sister endured at the hands of her killer husband.
With most commenters under the post expressing sadness and overall distaste over the events shared by the interviewee, Michael, your employee, made a rather snide comment: "Sad story but there are many sides to a story."
I will attach a screenshot for reference.
I could go on to explain my interpretation of that remark, but I would trust that being a reputable organization, you are grounded in analyzing such words and the intent behind them.
More than anything, I would also want to believe that such opinions are not representative of what you stand for as an organization. It is in bad light to see that someone who is to raise the emblem of your company, is indeed, one who upholds such repulsive thought processes.
I hope that you would not take acts like this lightly, and you will see to it that Michael's actions are brought to book.
Thank you.
