I purchased my insurance policy on June 2, 2026 because the Airbnb was non‑refundable. The policy became effective on June 3, 2026. My close aunt passed away on May 25, 2026. I cancelled my trip on June 6 at 9:28 PM, and I filed my claim on June 6 at 10:08 PM.
Because her funeral was on June 5, my trip was still planned and everything was fine. Later that same day, I was informed that I needed to be in town on June 15 to participate in final business matters related to her passing. That new obligation is what caused me to cancel my trip, not the funeral itself.
I have repeatedly asked Generali Global Assistance to show me, in writing, where the policy states that “circumstances surrounding a loved one’s death” are excluded as a valid reason for claim approval. No one has been able to provide this. I have also experienced unprofessional treatment, including being hung up on by a representative who never called me back. Before that, I could not get anyone to respond to my email requesting an appeal of the decision.
God does not want His children to be taken advantage of, and I am simply asking for the written policy language that justifies their denial and my Money back.
Desired outcome: Refund me the amount of my stay, $652.80.
