I called Adt customer service line multiple times to cancel my account. Each time I said I needed to cancel my account. They hung up on me. Hence the reason I had to call multiple times. And then use their chat function from their website. I was told I needed to call. I explained my frustration of being hung up on multiple times and the over one hour wait times. I sent an email. The week later, I received a response and was told I needed to mail a letter. So I did. I was emailed again and said that that wasn’t good enough because I did not sign the letter this process took two months. All the while Adt continued to bill me, when I finally got it canceled they said I had an outstanding balance of $80 because I didn’t give 30 days notice. I explained that I had been working on getting this canceled for going on three months at no time. Did anyone tell me that I needed to mail a letter until I raise hell. They’ve sent me to collections. I was a loyal customer of 20 years and this is how I’ve been treated when I took every step and worked to get my account canceled the right way. The treatment I endured, was unlike anything I’ve experienced from any company

Desired outcome: remove the balance, so the collections agency gets off my back
