Ackermans 3 grey school shorts stitching came undone for no valid reason!

I pride myself on being a very Loyal customer of Ackermans, believing that the quality of your garments are far superior than the likes of Jet or PEP stores for instance.

In January, I purchased, among other school uniform items, 3 Sz. 13, Grey Shorts for my son.
Without even washing them before school began, but having to shorten by a qualified seamstress, they were packed away in his cupboard ready to wear once school began.

The first day of school, my son got dressed, only to come to me to point out that all the stitching, from the end of the left pocket had come away and the material had freyed to such and degree, the shorts were gaping open.

I instructed him to put on one of the other pairs, which he did, and went off to school. By 10h30, I got a call from the school, saying that my son was in a state because the same exact thing had happened, this time, from the end of the zip, all the way to the buttocks area.
I rushed through to my mortified son, who had been made fun of, with the 3rd pair of shorts.
I waited as he changed into the 3rd pair, only to be met with a tearful 12yr old. The third pairs stitching had come away from the buttocks area.

I had to go to the schools lost and found to find him something.

I did take all 3 shorts back to the Ackermans in Bothasig, only to be told that because I had had the hem shortened, there was nothing they could do, which understand.

Now, I want to clarify, the shorts were bought at that size so that they would last him the year, they were in no way too tight. Secondly, ultimately, the only secure stitching was where the seamstress had hemmed them.
I asked her if she could repair the shorts, because I am not unreasonable, I understand you may have had a bad batch. However due to the severity of the stitches pulling loose and the consequent fraying of the material, she said it would be better to buy new shorts.

As a Loyal Client, who has always supported Ackermans, I am grievously disappointed, and hope that some compensation, for the R300 I confidently spent on the shorts alone, be allocated.

I have come directly to you with my issue and look forward to a timeous response to this complaint.

Ackermans poor service

I went to ackermans tower mall to cancel my lay-bye as I have lost my job and cannot pay any further. I meet two employees who gave me an extremely bad attitude one named Kgomotso. They told me that they don't have money on their tills and that I should come back later or another day. I then went back two days after and still Kgomotso was very rude. She made me standin front of her till for more then 45min unattended and I'm heavily pregnant on that note. I asked one of the employees to call her and she said that she is on tea time. I waited another 5 min and asked the other guy to call her again or ask her to give me back my slip as she held it by her and that's when the manager by the name of Thabang came out and told me that they were on lunch with a very rude manner. I asked Thabang to help me and he had a very bad attitude towards me while helping me. Strongly plead that this matter is taken care of. Thanks

Ackermans unauthorised debit order for family protector plan by fsp consultant

I was in Ackermans Golden Acre store on Friday, 31st January 2020. FSP consultant approached me regarding policy, I said that I had an existing small funeral policy on my account. I could not tell her who the beneficiaries were and she said she could check. She requested my cell number and went to check. Then she returned and waited with me in the queue as she had to present client to the cashier to get the information. I was on a lunch break and in a bit of a hurry and I told her that. She then got a slip from the cashier and asked that I sign a policy agreement book that she had. I said for what? she said it was to confirm the existing policy that I had as it was done previously online, which I had told her and this was confirmation of that existing policy. I said No, as I do not sign anything that I have not read. She then said that I can take a picture of the document and that she just needs my signature. I said No, I do know my rights and I am not obliged to sign anything. She was very insistent but I refused her every time, I said once again that I was on a lunch break and I will appreciate a call later from an official and I will chat to them but I was not interested in signing anything when I know that I have a policy and why do you need my signature to see who my beneficiaries are. This persistant consultant actually followed me to the door as I was leaving saying that she had this printed form which I had to sign as she had printed it already. I replied that I do not have to sign or the time now and then she said, I can write on the paper that I did not want this. I wrote on this slip, "On Lunch, call me later". I now today, 3/02/20202 received an SMS that I now have a new Family protection policy and R109, 95 will be deducted from my account. Now, how dare she do this. I did not authorise any debit order. My signature was not on any policy document. And to take my banking details from my ackermans account to institute a debit order is unethical and definitely Fraud. I want this investigated as these FSP consultants need to be trained in the ethics of their job.

Ackermans poor service

On Saturday 18 January i went to the Ackermans Mayville branch to purchase some items. Upon us leaving the security beams went off and we were met by one of the store attendants. She took our items out of the plastic bag and abottle of cutex fell out and broke. Spilling cutex all over my navy blue
Old Khaki sneakers my blue dennim and my socks. Thhe store attendant tried to help me clean it but everything was already spoiled with orange coral cutex, we wiped my shoes but it already started to dry. We called the Manager whom was busy video calling and walking around in the store talkong out loud to whom ever on the other line. She replied to everythig that happend with an disguted "EISH". She also told the store attendant whom was cleaning the floor to replace my cutex but she cant do anything about my sneekers or pants as they do not stock the items. She did not offer any other help she just turned around and continued her video call.
So now i would like to know WHO is going to replace my damaged items seeing as the employees and manager did not care at all?

Ackermans service

On the 17th of January i purchases a pair of shoes from this store however i took it back because my child did not like the shoes, i was then told that i needed to bring the card with which i used for purchase on day 2 i went back with card and was told thag it needed to get loaded onto the card which i presented that was at half past 11 the morning, the afternoon i went back showing that the funds is not showing yet and was told that it was never suppose to get loaded instead i was suppose to get the cash i told them i would give them 24 hours when i went back today i was told that they cannot do anything i must wait till Monday for head office to open.

This to me is very poor service as im also working in the same retail environment and never has a client came to me 3 times with the same problem and what is further frustrating is the fact that everytime i visit I get told a different story, not once was a manager called instead im getting blank faces from staff members.
I need this resolved asap as im not going to go wait my lunch time over everytime.

This is by far the poorest service I've experienced in a long time.

Ackermans customer service / accounts department

After setting up a RECURRING debit order in November I am receiving text messages saying I am behind on payment. Calling customer service was a waste of time as I was transferred to 3 different people each telling me something else. According to one I do have a recurring debit order and she does not understand why the debit orders did not go off and even told me it was set to go off on the 2nd of each month, but still transferred me to someone else. The next person then told me that there is no recurring debit order and wanted to send me the forms to complete so I do have a debit order. Why then did I spend almost an hour on the phone in November setting up a debit order? And why did I just spend almost another hour being transferred from one person to the next and eventually put on hold for more than 15 minutes where after the call was dropped?
This is unacceptable!

Ackermans unethical behaviour

I visited one of your stores to return items which i bought on laybye, the issue was that the manager refused to give me a refund and she insisted that she will load it on a gift card and the reason for refusing was that when I went to take out the laybye I told the cashier I lost my slip and I paid cash and I was informed that I can return should there be a problem. At the time of returning I had the laybye reference number and the EFT reciept which I got after collecting my laybe hence I couldn't understand why she was refusing as I requested the rcp at point of collecting my laybye, I then requested for the call centre number after seeing that she was just adamant and rude that she will not give me any refund but load on a gift card, she then showed call centre details. It then called the call centre and they advised me to go to the branch and let the Store manager call, she was even rude to the agent and refused to give me her surname after i corrected her that she can sort out internal issues after helping me because she was shouting and arguing with the call centre agent in front of me. The service I got at the branch was so disgusting and pathetic as a client I expect to be given good service especially by a Branch Manager who tell me that she will also make a scene at my work place and I assured her she can come as I know my policies and procedures. As a Manager she really needs training because you can never behave the way she did in front of client let alone her body language. Ackermans insurance

Hi I added up closing my account with account with Ackermans because I was paying my premium every month but the balance was not going down and when I wanted to close the account they told me I have an Insurance with of which I never know of and who joined that insurance for me. And my mother is having the same problem so I won't refer any one to open the account with them.

Ackermans pajamas

I bought mickey mouse pjamas (shirt and pants) for a 5 year old girl and a lot of other clothes. Jackie legodi helped me but he did not put the pants on the plastic. I was not able to see it until I got home, I tried to contact the store but they dont answer their phone. I even sent someone to go collect the pants, they refused to give her. I'm staying far from polokwane. I even feel like crying because I can not get help from any of the stores near me.

Ackermans product

I went to Ackermans cradlestone mall, to laybye, and yesterday the 13th of December I went to take out the laybye. To my surprise when I got home, the short I laybyed was switched, instead of a short I was given a skirt, n the skirt doesn't have a price tag. Because cradlestone is a bit far from where I'm staying I went to the nearest Ackermans, and I was told to go back to cradlestone as the matter needs to be fixed at cradlestone. I'm so disappointed as even in my till slip it's a short not a skirt. Please assist as I loved that short.

Ackermans agent extremely lack quality customer service, rude and ill mannered

Aphiwe Manzana called me today, Friday 13 Dec 2019 at 15:56, without providing any clear reason for her call - she started to harass me, raising her condescending voice while acting as if she knows me and I'm her friend.
Call her to order and she must never call me again. I suspect is the same gent who called me yesterday, Thursday, 12 Dec 2019 at 14:29 from 0314595482 behaving the same way. Kindly investigate this and address it with me urgently. From N. Goniwe | [protected]

Ackermans poor customer service

am very disappointed with the stuff of Ackerman's in vryburg. they really can miss treat their customer. my wife went to their store to return the items I bought for my daughter only to find out the items are not the fitting size. she has a receipt with her and the items are still on a good condition and they have a price tag on. my wife waited there for about an hour on a queue to get served only to find out that they will return her without assistance due to buying clothes with an Ackerman's card of which she didn't have with her, besides that the lady at the door didn't say anything about the card she only checked the items and told her to go to the queue for exchange. then its my wifes turn on the till, the lady at the till told her she cant help her because she doesn't have a card with her and the lady at till called the manager for verification the manager answered with no good manners and she said things loudly and thought my wife cant hear her. I bought the items at vaal mall so the manager kept on saying '' hey that lady should return those stuff at vaal mall'' with an attitude yena she wont help her. since when does buying things at other Ackerman's is an issue? I believe you guys are the same store that's why u can get it everywhere so that we can have convenience on buying . if not so than the cards should be for only one store rather.

please assist us with an understanding that since when does returning an item needs the card?

can you guys please teach your stuff how to treat customers because you will definitely lose customer because of the attitude they have.

Ackermans customer service

I am writing a second email with regards to this store and I have not received any feedback!. I went to ackermans on the 30th november to buy clothes for my daughter and also take out her lay bye for her sandle.
The store was full and we stood in the que for a good 15 minutes, the tills were fast that I am not complaining about. When I got to the till, I paid for my items and took out the lay bye for the sandle, I was told to go to the tills at the back for lay bye take outs where the was another massive que, with a long line of people who had been standing there for some time as well. I stood there for 30 minutes with no assistance, there was one lady assisting with lay bye take outs and as well assisting with the tills, she would go to the back get a few items and give out to the people or she would come back and say she cannot find the lay bye therefore you need to wait. My daughter at this time was very unsettled and was tired (1 year old). I went to the front to consult the manager but he sent a till operator to hear what I had to say. At this point I was very upset and disgusted, I left my lay bye slip at the till with the cashier and walked out of that store very angry. No one has gotten back to me since then!. If no one responds to this email I will have to write on other platforms.

Ackermans I want to return a cell phone I purchased

I purchased a cell phone on the 23 november 2019, the box was opened by the person that assisted me at the store (worker there), my daughter is not happy with that cell phone, she wanted another cell phone a more expensive one, so i went to the same store on the 24 november to change the cell phone, but they did not assist me changing the phone, please i need to change the cell phone, i am paying for the account, i am not getting it for free

Ackermans lay bye refund and customer service

I did a lay bye which was expiring on 23/11/19. I was unwell and only went to finalize payment on 24/11/19. at my arrival i was told that the items have been put back on the shelves and that i must look for them if i need them. i was also offered a gift voucher for as a refund and i told them that i need to buy elsewhere and i couldn't use a voucher. the lady was rude and she screamed at me and left to get a voucher. She left for over 15 mins and i eventually left. I was standing in the store with a sprained ankle and no one cared.
