I accept that from now on I should read the “terms & conditions” a lot more closely, but I just couldn’t conceive of a company offering a trial that starts the day you place the order. Well that’s exactly what this fraudulent crook of a company decided to do and I get some third world inept operator taking my call that tried her hardest to up-sell me on another month of a product I didn’t even want one month of.

So I tell her that I received the acai product on Monday it was now Wednesday and I’m wondering why they charged me $89 after 3 days, she replies no it is charged 10 days from the time you place the order, you failed to call us back in time. I exploded! What sense does that make to start my trial of something before I receive it? I didn’t get to TRY it! She say’s oh well since you’ve already paid for it now why don’t you try it for the rest of the month. This crap went on for way too long and finally when I was frustrated to the verge of tears did she give me the cancellation instructions.

Can you believe after the 10 times I said I didn’t want it had I hung up too soon I would have still been in the system to get hit again next month! Scam artists! I am pissed and still out of money. And the cancellation process is so detailed and ridiculous, and they cover their criminal butts by putting this stupid info in the terms they know people rarely read through completely. Uuuggghh!

I have the same problem. Just noticed the $8.51 and no answer when I call. I think I need to cancel the card and notify my bank to stop all payments.

I ordered from Natural Acai Berry a free trial offer and was asked to pay only s/h. When I recieved the product I was that I was charged more than my online order showed and they sent me two bottles. Next I notice that a large charge had come thru my bank, I found out that it was from Natural Acai Berry and called them. They told me that there was nothing they could do, but they would take my name off of the list. They wouldn't do anything except to say that I now have to call my bank and pispute the charge and go thru a rediculous proceedure to do this, and I still my not get my money back that I fell was stolen from me! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CO. IT IS A SCAM!

First, they charged my card more for the s/h than my reciept showed form the order online, then they sent me two bottles. Next I saw that they had put a charge thru my bank for more that I did not order! This is a scam! Beware. I finaly got thru to someone and they said that I have to contact my cc and dispute the charge, which is a rediculous process. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CO.

These are a bunch of thieves to be polite. They charged me as well on my credit card. I called and raised so much hell they refunded my credit card. I hope. I received the conf numbers and contacted my credit card company and had them put the information in my file. They are going to send dispute forms to fill out in case they default on the refund. I have instructed the credit card company not to accept any additional charges from these companies. Beware there are quite a few under the same roof I believe at least 3. I have numbers for 2 of them. [protected], UT & [protected] NV. Check your credit card statements or go online and look at your account. If you must, cancel your card and get a new one. I am if this continues. The credit card companies have to do this if you request it. Be Smart! I hope this helps ya’ll in some way!

Go to the website below. Then go to Buy Acai Products. It's not a free trial. All you have to do is order it. It is legit. I have tried it.

You are not even dealing with a Company. They set you up with a bogus website that's just a forum for Complaints. A bogus address and a bogus product. Get rid of the card or else you will see more bogus charges without your consent!

Don't just cancel but you are safer if you can change your account if you did it thru your bank. Let your Credit Card Company be aware of the scam.

What will happen is they will sell your Credit Card Number to other telemarketers and they will run that Credit Card dry. Then you will wonder where the other charges came from.

Make sure you file charges. You can do that with the Federal Trade Commission office online. They have a form online you can submit and also ic3.gov. They also have a form online. They work with the FBI. Their form is similiar to the FBI form. You can also file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office in whatever State you got the bogus product. There is a case against them as We speak.

Save some of that bogus product, you can use that against these Scam Artist. I hear alot of people are getting sick. Someone posted the ingredients on this website. One of the ingredients said "NOT DIGESTIBLE BY HUMANS."

I ordered the free trial on line and paid my shipping and handling and never even recieved the product, but I checked my account today and I have been charged 87.13 on my account. I tried calling and was put on hold 35minutes and I finally hung up. Please anyone who reads this do you have another number besides [protected] or [protected] that you have been able to get through on. I have had to close my bank account due to the charges.

I have had the same experience PLUS! I ordered the AcaiBerry on 1/13/09. I received in on 1/30/09( 17 days later). I immediately tried calling the number provided to cancel any further shipments to no avail. The number was not working.I tired for 4 days with no success, the I found the website listed ion the bottle. I went in to do a "instant chat". Of course they could not find any of my information. After 16 minutes on hold, they finally found it and canceled my shipments. Within in 30 minutes of that communication, they had a hold on my VISA for $88.62. I called them back( someone actually answered the phone), and I was told I was one day late to cancel my shipment and they refused to refund my monies for the new bottle they plan on sending out.They tried to tell me it did not matter what day I received it, only what day they shipped it( to count 15 days). My suggestion, as this is what I am doing, is contact your credit card provider. Document everything as you did on this message board. It may take a while to get the money back, but I hope to be able to. The more people that report this SCAM, the easier it will be for us to get refunded.Of course, your calls, if you do get through, are rerouted to some far east country. The worst part is they just don't care.

Almost all of the companies that offer "free trial" of their product set up an automatic withdrawal on your bank account so either you forget to cancel or you are unaware that they are going to charge you.
That "free trial" is an alarm in itself!

Acai berry is a sham! Even if they only get the first month charge out of you, they are raking up the dough. I coulnd't get anyone on any of the customer service lines to acknowledge that they had my information. Finally when I looked on this board, I called another # someone else had a beef with. So I called and hit pay dirt, however, they do NOT ever refund for product. They said ALL SALES ARE FINAL as listed in the fine print. STAY AWAY FROM ALL THE AICAI BERRY COMPANIES; there is some kind of racket going on. I think Dr. Oz and Oprah need to know about this because their endorsement is on the website. Website is: http://doctorozdiet.net/acai-c2m.php.

Totally agree, the exact same thing happened to us with this company. We called our credit card company which cancelled the charges and issued a new card to keep them from charging us again. Stay way from all of the Acai Berry Companies!

The Truth About Oprah and Açaí
Consumers should be aware that Oprah Winfrey is not associated with nor does she endorse any açaí berry product or online solicitation of such products. Attorneys for Harpo are pursuing any companies that claim such an affiliation.

These are almost all identical websites with interchangable # of kids, # weight loss;
They all tried the trendy diets (South Beach, Atkins, etc);
They all saw Dr. Oz on either Oprah or Rachel Ray;
They all state "I'm just a ----" on their site;
They all lost 42, 45 or 47 lbs.
Several have identical photos;
Several have the exact same layout.

There were two others that have since been yanked: Sarah Presley's and Anna Matthews' Weight Loss Stories. They must have been replaced with Karla's and Helen's because those are fairly new.

From all I've read on here of the absolute ripoffs, these people must be stopped.

Don't feel bad. The same thing happened to me, almost. I called on the 14th day to cancel my order. Went online and submitted all the hoops you have to go through to cancel. Two days later I receive an email that says "Shipment Confirmation". I open the email and it says they just shipped another two bottles for $86. I was pretty angry at this point. I called the 800 number, and I actually got somebody answering the phone, although extremely rude. I told her I canceled two days earlier. Her response was that I canceled on the 14th day and you have to cancel before the 14th day. Give me a break! I have called my bank to make sure they cannot withdraw from here on out. Still not right. Someone needs to make them stop!

I just hung up the phone from those crooks and I spoke to the supervisor who credited my account for nearly $200 but still claims she's charging me $80 for a product that I never received! I am in the process of disputing this with my credit card company. I just went online and found that Better Business Bureau's nationwide are warning people about this fraudulent company. They say thousands of people are complaining all over the country. Fight them!

report your credit card stolen and then you get a new number and they can't charge you any more. There is also a possiblity that your bank can reimburse you.

I have the same problem going on right now. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the claim and also contacted the better business bureau to investigate these unethical practices. as of now, the company has offered to refund $30.00 to my credit card. that is unacceptable and I have written a rebuttal to their offer. no charges whatsoever are acceptable beyong the $4.99 that I have already paid for shipping on the trial bottle.

Please contact the better business bureau to file a complaint as well. hopefully if enough people so do it will put an end to their unethical behavior.

I just had this happen to me but I received my "free trial". then paid to have it three day mail and thay received and was suppose to cancel my accoun on the 8th of january and did cancel it and on the 16th took 87.13 out of my accunt and then told me thats the day they canceled it. my bank was nice and they are going to fight for me they have others going through this right now to. I cancelled by bank card cause they have many other names and so flagging your account does not stop them. my trial was billed and shipped from herbal groups and the 87.13 was billed fromm accai berry group so be careful. the only way is to cancel ur card.

You can call your bank or credit card company and change your account number and cancel the number you used to pay the shipping charge for the free sample. Its a hassle, but consider it a lesson learned - we won't buy anything this way again!
