World Education Services [WES] - Course by course evaluation - wes reference no: 4832345 and fedex tracking no is 782415659983

Subject: REFERENCE NO: 4832345

Dear Sir or Madam,

My status is changed to "on hold" because you are asking 3 documents.

3 documents were sent to you on 8 January and as per tracking numbers, you already received the missing 3 documents ON 13 JANUARY. PLS REFER TO THE BELOW FEDEX TRACKING NO

Tracking no FEDEX : 782415659983

So these documents were sent to you and you received them. Pls process my course by course evaluation asap because Chicago University is waiting for the course by course evaluation in 3 to 5 business days as of 15 January deadline.

I am really very disappointed in your service. You are not clear in which documents to be sent. Your customer representatives on phone have little to NO knowlwdge and lack of communication skills and do not give a proper answer. I really do not know why my 3 documents are still on hold even though I sent them and you received them and yesterday my status was changed and was showing "documents are analyzed and evaluated", today now I receive a warning that you are still waiting for my 3 documents on a Sunday. Thanks for ruining my Weekend!

Thanks.

Riza Ersoy
Reference No: 4832345

Desired outcome: HAVE MY DOCUMENTS IN EVALUATION AND SENT TO UNIVERSITIES ASAP

World Education Services [WES] - processing of transcripts

I am a Caribbean Citizen with much to offer to the Education Sector locally and Internally. My deep regret is that having paid for the evaluation of my transcripts, WES keeps asking via email for the accrediting body in Jamaica resend transcripts (which cost a lot of money) as they are not accepting the transcripts that were sent from the College I attended. This is ludicrous, as it is one's College or University that sends transcripts for evaluation. I feel cheated in many ways as this is hampering the registration process of the College I applied to. I am also peeved as I have responded to the three emails they sent requesting the re-sending of documents to which they have not replied to date. Additionally, when I check my status in my account with WES it says they are waiting on documents. What then will happen to my transcripts that they have in their possession that was couriered for over $200 US? What is of shock to me is that they have repeated the same request to the University I applied to, showing that their comprehension level is either low or non-existent. This in my humble opinion is a total rip-off! I need my transcripts to be returned to the College and not held in their possession!

World Education Services [WES] - Incompetent, lazy, sabotaging (crooks!)

WES is the most incompetent company I have ever come across. Of course, I haven't got my documents evaluated from any place else, but my gauge is the relative professionalism that every other company can at least boast to have.
I will enumerate...

1. Customer Service (telephone) - Most customers find the wait times to be obnoxious (I gather from other complaints). I am forced to agree. I've been on hold for half an hour or more on several occasions.

2. Email. Ok, so they aren't allowed to discuss completed evaluations and the only other avenue to get in touch with them is email.( Well, there is postal mail, but that will probably get you a reply by the time your grand children graduate!) ... and contrary to what one might believe, email isn't faster than postal mail... It's been 3 weeks I wrote them an email. I've been calling their helpline to remind them to reply. But I'm still waiting. (BTW - They tell you that they will reply to you within 7 business days = load of Cr**)

3. They are a little out of sync with foreign credentials. Notice I say a little. I am fair so I wont completely tarnish their already in the dumps reputation. But there was a tiny period for when my university ran out of its accreditation before it renewed it again. Mine is one of the best universities in the country and there probably was a little slip. But that does not warrant my degree from being unrecognized. Which is what WES is doing, completely sabotaging my career and education. The least they can do is reply to my email, explaining their position. I am open to listening to what they have to say but I am not alright with their nonchalant attitude, after I have paid them hundreds of dollars for the evaluation, copies, sealed envelopes, etc, etc!

Well, most importantly, I spoke to a customer service representative today(yes, again!) and she said that I should get a reply by the end of this week...(it's a Thursday today so I asked her if that meant by the end of Friday - and she said yes) and when I asked her what I should do if I don't get a reply by then, she pepped up and chirpily said "Well, call on Monday if you'd LIKE!"

So, I am going to give them this last chance, and if they still continue to enforce my disappointment, I am seriously considering suing them. This is where I need help. How can I go about it? I'm a US Resident but not a citizen (if that makes a difference).

Thank you!

-MN

Hey guys, I have the same sh..t with WES. Going back and forth for over 4 years. Let's get together and sue this agency. I am really ready for that. Let's bring customers from Customer Affairs (http://www.consumeraffairs.com/education/world_education_services.html ) and put together all docs to file against this WES. My email: legaltrans7@gmail.com. Let me know.

Hey man, how did it go? Did they get back to you then?
I've read couple other comments saying the same, and myself - I am evaluating credentials from the best university in my country as well - I see what you are talking about. I hope my case will go okay, but if not - I am ready to cooperate with you on the suing thing, unless you've lready done it.
So please let me know how did it go. My email is pochtarenko@yahoo.com.
Cheers

World Education Services [WES] - wes charging twice for services paid for!!!

WES Reference No. : 2267699

I intended to apply for graduate program at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University via worldwide campus for which they require evaluation of academic credentials through a list of service providers amongst them being WES (World Education Services) NY.

Therefore, I chose WES and submitted my application online on 13 Apr 2011 for course by course evaluation and paid $160 fee plus additional $35 for their ICAP service.

In accordance with their requirement for Pakistani Degrees, I sent WES a sealed envelope from Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan containing attested copies of the following degrees

1) Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace) from NUST, Pakistan (1999)

2) MBA (Marketing) from Preston Institute of Management Sciences & Technology (PIMSAT), 2003

3) MS (Mechatronics Engineering) from Air University, Pakistan, (2010)

WES confirmed receiving the above credentials via email on April 21, 2010. On April 25, I received a notification from WES that my evaluation has been completed and to my utter shock the evaluation was as follows:

Your PIMSAT MBA degree holds No Academic Value. (CASE CLOSED)

I filed for a review of my application on April 25, stating if my MBA degree holds no academic value, WES has not granted me evaluation for my BE degree from NUST and MS degree from Air University, therefore, how can my case be closed?

My File was under review for a few days after which I received a reply on May 6, 2011.

Dear Mr. KHAN

This is in response to your recent communication regarding the evaluation completed on April 25, 2011.

It is the policy of our organization not to include in the same evaluation report academic credentials from bonafide institutions and documents of no academic values. If you want want your credentials from NUST & Air University to be evaluated you need to re-apply (new application and a second payment of the basic fee are required).

We would like to stress that evaluations prepared by World Education Services are offered as advisory opinions and, as such, they are not binding upon any institution or organization.

Sincerely,

Director of Evaluations

All said and done, I would like the Director of Evaluation (WES) to explain the following:-

(a) No where while filing the 1st application it was ever clarified that if any one degree among the credentials submitted was deemed to be of no academic value, the fee would have to be repaid to get the others evaluated separately.

(b) Neither has WES published a list of institutions which it considers granting degrees of no academic value in order to forewarn its customers not to submit degrees from those institutions.

(c) Among the three degrees submitted, WES can easily omit the one bearing no academic value in its evaluation report so that the customer atleast has an evaluation report containing the others for which he has paid for in the first place!

SUMMARY

My case in totality has been narrated before all. Please avoid choosing WES under all circumstances for academic credentials evaluation. They are nothing but ripoffs and should be banned by all educational institutes and US authorities for treating their customers the way I have been dealt with. Thank you for your patient listening and hearing.

Sincerely

Omar Khan
Rawalpindi, Pakistan

I too, can testify to WES' very special way of handling foreign credentials evaluations. They were simply unable to grasp that neither the institutions were I studied/graduated twenty-five years ago, nor my country are still in existence. For that reason, and going by their books, I could not provide original transcripts in sealed envelopes. I have current letters and verifications from the government confirming these facts but they were of no interest to WES. After several weeks' of repeated explanations, phonecalls, etc., they eventually refunded part of their hefty fee, less an "administrative fee". I wonder what for. Lowest possible service.
