My review is posted on Consumer Affairs, please see the entirety in my attachments. In summary, the tires are woefully inadequate for regular customer use. The SUV weighs 5500 pounds and the tires it comes equipped with cannot sustain average use without cracking the wheel which causes damaged tires. I’ve had to replace both twice. I drive maybe 500 miles a month and that’s mostly in town. I’m a typical driver on typical roads, some not always cared for leaving potholes. Volvo needs to supply heavier duty tires just like they do on their slightly larger slightly heavier and bigger SUVs.
Claimed loss: $2800.
Desired outcome: Provide better tires and reimburse me for service and parts.

You have a valid point about the weight-to-tire mismatch. Here is the practical path: check your owner's manual for the recommended tire load index and speed rating, then compare it to the tires currently on your vehicle. If they are below spec, that is a safety issue you can report to the NHTSA. Also, call Volvo customer care at 1-800-458-1552 and ask for the Technical Department, not the service desk. Tell them you have had two cracked wheels and want to know if there is a service bulletin or a heavier-duty tire option approved for your model. If they brush you off, file a safety complaint with NHTSA online, it forces them to respond.
