Hi

I am really angry at the service that i have experienced at Vodacom. I received a call from a Vodacom agent last month who misled me on record saying that Vodacom acknowledges that i am paying a lot of money on a small package and that Vodacom is updating packages for most of their customers. I was on a smart small package (which is what i could afford) but was transferred from 600 MB to 2.4 GB and 50 minutes to 100 minutes (at no cost per the agent and that vodacom would reduce my monthly subscription fee). To my surprise, a couple of days later when i check the App, my subscription had increased and when i called to find out i was told it was because of the upgrade (I was very shocked).

One, why do I receive a call for an upgrade a month after i have upgraded my contract, two, is vodacom that desperate for sales that the agents phone and lie to customers, how many more customers are going through what i am now going through. three I have been up and down calling vodacom to fix this issue with no success, until I received a sms that I'll be paying for the illegal upgrade for this month and a change will be effected from next month (how crazy is that). Vodacom is taking chances. I want to know why this approach and if this was not authorised by Vodacom, what is going happen to this Agent as this is a very serious transgression.

For the record, i will not pay that amount as requested and i alerted vodacom very early in the transaction but on one seemed to be in a rush to assist because that is how vodacom operates.

i am going to cancel my vodacom debit order until this matter is resolved and vodacom has provide me with a recon for the past 12 months with the amounts I've paid vs for I needed to pay. once the matter is resolved i will pay the amount i need to pay minud debit order cancellation for this huge inconvenience.

Failure to be assisted, I will terminate my contracts penalty free and escalate the matter to the ombud in the sector.

On several engagements ive asked that a senior manager call me and explain this but keep getting agents with no answers that call me.

Shocking practice - I experienced the same in South Africa and wrote a decription of the caoplaint as well.
