I just got off the phone with an extremely rude agent at Verizon #[protected].
Here is my issue.

I am opening a new location for my company below. YES I am the owner. I
called Verizon in Dec to get a phone number so I could start marketing my new address-phone number. I made it VERY clear to the rep that I wanted a phone number ONLY, basic service since I would not physically be at the location until Mar 1st, 2017.

Now I am told by this unprofessional, rude young man that I had full features added, ie: unlimited long distance and voice mail, call forwarding, etc etc etc! He also stated I WAS UNDER CONTRACT I have never signed a contract with Verizon, nor would I never! Today I got a bill from Verizon for a line that doesnt even have a phone connected to it for $225!
To say I had a fit was an understatement. I called Verizon immediatly and got this cocky, rude, arrogant young man. He mocked me, he insulted me and got me to the point I wanted to reach thru the phone and punch his face and I'm not violent!
He finally removed the features and the long distance but refused to credit my account.

All this treatement for a brand new business account! I'm sending this forward to the FCC.

This is a horrible way to introduce a new customer, don't you think!

After your initial attempt to sort your issue out with Verizon – SAVE YOUR BREATH! These people are not interested in working with their customers. You must file a complaint with the FCC - http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
or [protected] When I went to the FCC’s website who do you think is on their main page – Verizon. FCC just won multi-million dollar settlement from them for (among other things) overcharging customers!

yeah - seems if I decide to stop paying the bill then I violate the contract - but if they provide service then they are free to charge me to leave.

Seems to me I am getting a rough deal here.

This is regarding the interview conducted by the company VERIZONE in a college at kerala.Around 200-250 students participated in that interview.but the no of students qualified in the first round is almost from the college where it is conducted only.only less students from other collges qualified.I think there is some involvement of the college management in that examination.or there may be some tie up...any way this is totaly shame.because people from other colleges are really fooled...

Put in simple terms, you ordered a line on a family plan and had this specific line for atleast a 6 year and they charged a $100.00 termination fee. . .

I truly am at a loss of words, I would hope there is more to it than that. But if that is basically the jist and what they are doing, it really does seem like a bit of robbery or perhaps extortion (the undertaking of changing phone services and number for a whole family come to mind and maybe credit rating if you refuse to pay).

I truly wonder at what level these sorts of decisions are made, how much thought is put into them, If the upper layers of these companies turn a blind eye because it brings in more revenue or if they are the ones at the wheel making these policies.

something similar happened to my husband and I. I got a blackberry. It started having problems immediately. So i took it to the local store and asked if i could send it for a replacement. I ended up getting a certified pre-owned droid in the store instead of getting a replacement Blackberry. I paid a little over 200 for the Droid at the store. They then gave me the place to send my damaged blackberry(just the address.) I sent it out in a padded envelop to the address i was given. A month goes by and i see a charge of 500 dollars for a non returned phone! i call and they tell me that i didn't send it in a correct box and didn't have the "bar code." i complained that i was given the address by an agent and he told me that was all i had to do. They still concluded that it was my fault. I contacted Fed-ex and got a confirmation that it had been delivered. I called Verizon back. They called the warehouse and confirmed that the phone had been returned. but since it did not have the bar code and box-they scrapped it out! i was furious. first of all-i was never told to have a box/bar-code and second-when it got the warehouse why the hell wasn't i given a call that i needed to send them additional info before they just toss it in the scrap pile?. I spoke to a manager about getting a refund since this was not my fault. She took 100 dollars off for my inconvenience(i still have to pay 400?!?!) my phone ended up getting shut off till i could come up with the money and i had to pay a reconnect fee! worst cell phone company i have EVER dealt with. and all the reps are rude. One guy called my husband a liar saying that we never even sent the phone and we were trying to get one over on them! I do not recommend Verizon wireless to anyone. They have higher fees than any other provider. I ended up spending over 600 dollars for a screw up on their end, and they couldn't admit that they had messed up1

I have the exact problem. It said i could move up to 10-15mb in speed with a 1 year contract online. So i did it. I have been paying for it sense Oct. The tech that came out said my line is rated at 5.8mb, and i am not able to get that speed. I have emailed them about a refund of the money i have over paid, and to cancel the dsl service, because they are in breach of contract. The real kicker, is that when i was on the 7.1mb plan, it was faster then what they are telling me i can get now. Doesn't make sense. I know my tech stuff pretty good, i was connecting at 6.8mb with the 7.1mb plan, you can check what the modem connects to yourself. But when i upgraded to the 10-15mb plan, it wouldn't even get to 4mb. Now they say I'm rated at 5.8mb? I'm pretty sure that's a breach in contract. I would not have renewed my contract if i couldn't upgrade my speed.

There is absolutely no "Customer Service" with Verizon. ZILCH.

There are eleven line item extra charges listed on every monthly Verizon statements besides the monthly contract fee.

See the following list of the eleven line items listed on a monthly Massachusetts Verizon Wireless Statement besides the contract fee:

1) Property tax recovery;
2) Federal subscriber line coverage;
3) 911 Disability Access fee;
4) Federal Universal Service Fee;

6) State & Local Tax;
7) Verizon Wireless Surcharges & Other Charges;
8) Taxes; Governmental Surcharges & Fees;
9) Usage Charges;

Just thought I would post back, after fighting with Verizon for 2 months I called [protected] that’s the global support cent for wireless and they were able to remove all but $100 (that showed up last month for data use even with data turned off...). I told the person what I was told when I called before I left and the BS I got from the main Verizon support, she said they see this a lot that they try and sell something that doesn't really work that way. She removed the charges and was very helpful, wish I would have called them first and saved myself all this pain...

Verizon is scam. First of all, I have a BB and have the smartphone data package and the texting package but i still get data usage charges. How does that work? Second, my brother had the worst experience with them. He went in to look at phones bc he was eligible for an upgrade. when we got there, the reps said how he could get a BB tour (there was some promotion) for however many dollars and he said, I dont know. He told them the only way he'd consider gettign the phone is if he could use it in Europe for a minimal charge. he mentioned their ads in the store advertise a $40 scype plan. would that work with the BB and could he use scype to make the calls. after many questions, they assured him this plan would fit his needs and how he could use the call to check in briefly from his vacation destinations. He went back and talked to them on a couple other occasions and finally purchased the phone. So, he went on vacation, called on a couple of occasions using this scype data plan feature they were pushing and when he got back the bill was over $1, 000. he went to the store and everyone denied their part in the sale of the phone and the advertisement of the data package. I called management myself and wrote several emails to the regional VP, nothing. Each time they would deny accountability and claim he didnt use scype, he was talking on the phone and the bill is over $1000 or they would say no he used scype but thats not the plan he needed for what he was trying to use the phone for. what? no help from managers, in store or otherwise. Managers on the phone would hang up on me, blatantly tell me they will call me back and never do it, tell me they'd fix at least part of the bill and never do it. Horrible customer service, no accountability for their erroneous and misleading advertisements, incompetant sales and customer service personnel and most of all LIARS. lying to get you off the phone, lying to get more money out of you, tacking on ancillary mystery charges on every bill. If you have the opportunity to get Verizon, RUN don't walk outta that mobile branch IMMEDIATELY!

They record all the phone calls. Sue them in small claims court and ask them to produce the phone call. They specifically told me they were recording our call after I asked (because I wanted to be recorded). They stated they can't retrieve them by date stamp, etc. I call bs on that. If they continue to mess with me, I'll take them to small claims court. I'm tired of the rigamarole. I'm thinking of getting AT&T. I guess I should check this board to see what their customers say. If AT&T are also a-holes, I'm going to Cricket or maybe free myself and quit the habit.

I totally agree that Verizon is way out of line requiring extra data package costs regardless of whether you use it or not. This is completely frustrating and I would like to find another provider, however I do get the best coverage with Verizon and most of my friends are in the same position. I believe a class action law suit would in order in this case.

i agree with much of what you said. u got a dishonest representative. and u must have some hd and hd dvr equipment. cable isn't any better on prices. most people's bill at vz average 130.00. so something is wrong or you have a lot of stuff. at any rate, the place is the WORST PLACE ever if you work there. everyone hates it as it is even worst for employees than it is for customer. I kid u not. One more thing, you said some low paying creep in collections, well, contrary to popular belief, VZ employees are more well paid than many people with degrees. So if you thin they are making under 10.00 dollars and hour or even under 20.00/hr, u are waayyy off. Most have college degrees as well. One thing in common, we ALL hate it there.

We did not have any internet service in our area by At&T or Com cast in that time. I went to Verizon Store and asked them about that. One of them showed me a USB broadband device and said that it's very good and also you can return it and we don't charge you. I told him that I should have an internet service to be able to work all day on that. I had an exam in that time and needed to buy a Q bank. I also told him that we listen to music on You tube and chat on Skype...He assured me that it is the right thing and will answer all our needs and usage.
We came home and I started using the USB which was not successful. I called their representatives and after one hour I was able to have a connection signal. I called again two more times that night, because the connection was on and off and also we were not able to even open our yahoo mails because of the speed. The last person told me to download something to increase my speed which after a while stopped and we had to download it again. It took about two hours and while waiting for the download to work with that low speed, she told me " do you know you are already over your limit?" I answered " what does it mean?"
She explained to me that it is a limited service and you have spent more than that and should pay about 250 dollars! It was less than 8 hours that I had that USB and I hadn't even be able to check my e mail. I had downloaded several items that their rep told me to help me with the connection and speed. She was very nice and told me that this service is not good for you because after all the downloads your speed is still low and the connection is not good in your area. She also told me that she dill discard the charges.
I went to the store next day and returned the device and complained about the way they sold it to me and their assurance.
We received a bill of about 250 dollars form them and then it started! I had to call them and different persons different opinions. I told them that their representative was supposed to discard the charges. "Go to the Store", one of them said. I went there and no one cared. I felt so bad the way they treated me.
We did not pay it for a while and finally paid the initial amount. They already had sold it to a debt collector company and now our credit score is low because of that.We decided to never ever have another Verizon service. They don't care about people, they just want to sell their products and services I met another person in Costco who had the same problem and in one day he had to pay 400 dollars for the service..
In that time I was so hopeless and thought how can I do anything? It happened somehow and they will go downhill.

Termination fees would start 30 days after the phone i activated. This fee you be decreased by $5 each month you are on contract. So, the termination fee for multimedia phones and feature phones are $175-$5 each month. If you have a smartphone, the termination fee is $350 and you would receive $10 off each month of contract.

Six kids? It's not the company's job to keep them from ordering anything additional from the service, it's yours. Clearly you have your hands full but don't blame big companies because you can't keep up with the children that you either created or agreed to care for...either way it's your responsibility.

Alltel (the company you are so loyal to spells it with one "T") is actually the company that sold your contract to verizon. The tower was not messed up by verizon...it just won't work for you now b/c verizon uses completely different technology (CDMA) and Alltel used a different type of network. Obviously nobody stole anything...sounds like regular phone service and business dealings are beyond your scope...you probably need to stick to using a prepaid phone or a landline.

Nobody at verizon will remove these charges just because you posted them on a website. Premium messages are authorized by you at some point and are from a third party that bills on your cell phone bill. You have to opt out of the premium message service for the charges to stop. Call cust service and they can tell you the code to opt out with, its extremely simple. They can usually provide a cust service number for the company that is charging you if you aren't sure how you opted in and you can request a block so you don't have these type of charges in the future.

I had very similar situation with Verizon, they promised me a bundle for a very low price, so instead of enjoying my summer 2 years ago, I was battling with their idiotic customer service department, calling them almost every day about the high bill, about the HD tv that they promised me and I never got it, I was arguing with them to the point that I screamed and cursed to the next person that I spoke to. Finally, I never received my TV, because, as they told me I was not on their list, if I would cancell, I would have to pay the cancellation fees, so I kept it for 2 years. Recently, I moved, so I called them 1 mo before to tell them that I am moving and the area that I am moving to doesn't have Fios, so the agent offered me a great special that included direct tv, internet, and phone for about 130.00 dollars /mo, including free HBO, Show time for some time, free DVR, and other stuff, I told him when I will move and made appointment with direct tv, I actually thought that the person was "normal", I even called him normal, however I was sooo wrong, I should have known. He completely messed up my order, no appointment was ever made, my e-mail; account was suspended, my internet was never turned on, phone service sucked. After talking to these people for hours, I decided that my health is more important to me, I called their cancellation dept and cancelled everything, I screamed at the person, that they lost a great customer, but did he cared? NO, but even then they screwed up, instead of cancelling my account, they put it on hold, what a company, how can they be in business for so long? They employ people with horrible customer service skills, who don't care, you are right, this is the worst company ever, and I would not want to be its customer, ever, thank you.

Currently dealing with the same problem, called Verizon before I left to get some kind of Canada plan added on so I could make calls home, the rep told me it would be $3.99 a month and would use my normal minutes end of call. Get my 1st bill from being in Canada and it has $800 in overages... Call Verizon, the rep literly said wow and told me they would remove the $800. Look online in a few days still shows the $800 call again, and again they say its wrong and will remove it was then told to pay the normal amount. Now comes the next bill, this one shows the $800 from last month and a new $275 for this bill... Out of the 3 people I talked with not one of them told me I should be getting this bill or that there is any cost per minute. So I call again, for the 1st time she tells me that its really $0.69 a min to call canada and that I needed to pay this, I ask for her boss, after about 25min hold he says he has looked at the problem and we need to pay it. I retell this whole tail of what I've been told and he still says I need to pay, talk longer and he says Verizon can not be held resposible for this and offers to pay $400 of it... Asked for his boss, he will call in 1 to 2 weeks...

From what I remember ... any time anyone sends you anything in the mail that you haven't asked for ... it's a gift. I thought that was a law. Why should you have the expense of returning something you never even asked for? Ask a lawyer. Sometimes you can find an online lawyer that is will to answer one question for free. I advise you to do that before you pay. :)

Verizon is the most F*ed up company on Earth. Just trying to get someone on the line to talk with is next to impossible; that stupid computer based system they have exists to solely keep you from speaking with a live rep. And God help you if you get disconnected and need to be reconnected for a late payment; their billing systems can apparently only alert to cut you off, but not automatically turn you back on. I hate Verizon and hope they get throttled by AT&T.

Did you try calling them? It's always possible that a letter never arrived, so they just assumed you weren't paying. I have a lot of issues and annoyances with Verizon, but there are very few problems I haven't been able to solve with their CSRs when I call. (I work in accounting and we have several different accounts with Verizon.)

Verizon representatives are GENERALLY NOT trustworthy. As persons, they are at least partially (perhaps mostly) responsible, since they have a moral obligation NOT to follow line chain of command that tells them to do what is MORALLY WRONG to do to consumers who are people just like themselves. They should find a different job AT LEAST and they ALSO OUGHT to report what they did and were instructed to do.

IT IS NOT OKAY SIMPLY to say "I WAS JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS!" By following immoral orders, you are creating victims out of people just like yourself. You are perpetuating a sickness in the business world and that sickness WILL NOT ESCAPE YOU - you are not immune to the basic knowledge of what kind of crap you have wrought on other people, men, women, and their families.

Do the right thing and find a different job. Do the right thing and file a report to the police. If you are afraid of getting in trouble, that only raises the stakes and the reason you have to report it. And, it is VERY unlikely that YOU will suffer penalization if you come clean and report it.

Verizon is a complete shame to the world. It needs to be put out of its misery.

Verizon is currently charging my wife and I over $200 for a cell phone plan. We have 2 cell phones with separate lines under one contract with 1400 minutes of combined use and 250 text messages. My brother and his wife have the same set up, but they only pay $89.00 a month. When I called to question Verizon about this, they used a standard stall, delay, transfer and excuse tactic - as do most big companies. Then yesterday, I received a bill for over $400 which stated I had downloaded games on my phone. My wife and I both work and we have a 3 year old... not much time for games. The only games being played here are by Verizon. My address is 191 Price Circle, Spring City, Tennessee 37381, if anyone would like to join me in a class action lawsuit against Verizon. We will be contacting the IRS... so that an investigation can be initiated against Verizon in order to determine where all the money that they collecting is going from erroneous charges on many cell phone and bundle plan customers, and we are also contacting the FCC to investigate their unfair methods and practices as a communications provider.
