We rented a vehicle and our trip ended on 1/28. Immediately after dropping off the vehicle the host sent pictures of damage that he claimed we did to the vehicle. That evening I drove back to the vehicle and was able to take additional pictures proving we did no damage to the vehicle.

On Jan 29th I submitted an online dispute through the Turo app with pictures showing we caused no damage to the car. On Jan 30th I emailed and called Turo to provide more evidence and follow up on the dispute. Calls have been made to Turo about every other day since the original false claim from the driver. We have had absolutely no follow up from Turo. They have no responded to a single phone call or email.

They keep claiming they are “escalating” the dispute. But they have been claiming that for almost 3 weeks. In the meantime they wrongfully tried to charge my card $1500 for the damages.

I will absolutely never use Turo again and will be taking this claim as far as I possibly can to make sure this wrongful claim is dropped.

Desired outcome: Drop the false damage claim that no one has communicated with us about for over 3 weeks.

Hi Gabrielle,

I am going through the same issue as of now and Turo is charging me for $ 885.00 for the damages small scratches that I did not do. I rented a Subaru 2025 for $ 209 which includes a 3 days minimum insurance. From the start we pick up the car I have notice red flags from the owner, the driver that drop off the car is late and gave us the car key that doesn't match with the car. I immediately reported it to the host and he told me that the driver seems to have confused the key with another Subaru and when he handed the correct key I noticed it's exactly the same. Hmm, that's odd so at the back of my mind I was thinking maybe they have two Subaru with the features. Before we left we took pictures of the car's exterior then head up to our trip. At the end of our trip and returned the car as a courtesy to the owner we car washed and cleaned the exterior immaculately and took a pictures of the car and send it to the host and left the car at Union Station parking lot D as the host instructed. I was shocked late night the following day I received a claim damage from the host. I looked at the pictures of the damages and seems like all pictures were taken from a different dates and different location compared to our pictures which was taken from the drop off location. I feel horrible for the host dishonesty and how sketchy the damage reports. I immediately file a dispute but Turo said they will make an independent investigation. Guys don't believe withTuro because they will not protect the guest they will always side the host. I feel like they are trying to scam me I told them I will not pay a single penny even if they drag me to small court or any court. My question is how does a small scratch will cost $885 to fix I can have it fixed professionally for $100 or 200 but not $800+ or those easy erase scratch cleaners in Amazon for few bucks. Neeeveer again I will use Turo. I just hoping that the false damage claim will be drop as this is already giving so much anxiety
