I needed to file an underpaid Required Minimum Distribution for my IRA. I followed all the instructions. One said I would be able to put in the Reason for missing the RMD, but when I got to the end of the Federal taxes, I was only giving an option to indicate that the shortage in my RMD was corrected, so the penalty was 10% vs. 25%. However, I was never directed to a place to provide the explanation of why the RMD was originally short, and actions to correct it. Without this information, IRS won't wave the 10% penalty. This bug in Turbotax Online 2025 cost me $130.

Desired outcome: Turbotax should fix the bug in the online system, and refund my $130.
