Tire Kingdom tire rebate from xmas holiday

Purcased tires from this location, was talked into 4 tires wheni went in for 1. Re: 100$ rebate on 4. Recieved email on confirmation and tracking #. This tracking website is non existing. Dont know if ill ever get 1. My whole family uses this store. If I dont get this rebate soon. All of us will be boycotting this place. Also when my wife went to this store 4 a oil change she was informed that I was rude when I was there. I find that interesting since I waited outside, spoke to no one about the long wait or anything. This started a problem between me and my wife, which is still in the air at home 2 months later. Mabey they should try counciling, they may be more successful at this. M. B. H. Plant city florida

agreed, they should tell you up front how it works and what it cost. I bought 4 tires and premium installation and I was approved for $100 rebate at there tracking website and I am still waiting. I don't like waiting for $100, maybe a $2 rebate I can wait 6 months for, not $100! We need to try harder to keep money in our own pockets and shop harder they sure don't make it easy.

Same thing happened to me. The seem to run this "rebate" every year with no intentions of paying it out. I bought four tires from them because of the rebate. Manager said I will get $100 fill this form out and mail it with the invoice. I did and got the "invalid sku" bs.

I had almost the same thing happen. I went in to buy 2 tires and they said if I bought 4 tires I could get a $100 mail-in rebate. I agreed, filled out the rebate form they gave me and mailed it it. When I checked on the rebate, it said it was denied because it had the wrong SKU#. When I went to the store to get the correct SKU#, I was informed that the rebate wasn’t any good because I didn’t purchase the PREMIUM INSTALLATION. When I asked what that was, they said the alignment package, which I had turned down. HOWEVER, they never said the rebate was dependent on me purchasing an alignment otherwise I would have turned the offer down and just bought the two tires I originally wanted.
I will not purchase anything else from Tire Kingdom and also plant to post my experience on Facebook to let others know. I’m curious how many other people were Ripped Off.

I purchased 4 tires and was told by the store manager that I would get a $100 rebate visa card by mail. I sent in the rebate and after a month I recieved an email with a tracking number that I could check on the website. When I entered the tracking number it came up as an "invalid sku" . I called the toll free number on my rebate info and found out that in order to get the rebate you must have purchased a "Deluxe instalation package" with your 4 tires. I'm not sure what that is and I know for sure it was not offered to me by the store manager who handed me the rebate form to take home and fill out. I went to the Tire Kingdom website to see if they show any such install package and found none. I'm guessing this 'Deluxe Tire Package' runs about $100 bucks. (spend an extra $100 and get $100 back scam ?) The only reason I purchased the tires at Tire Kingdom was because of the rebate. The same tires where cheaper at Costco across the street by $10 each and the basic install package was also cheaper by $3 per tire. BOTTOM LINE: STORE MANAGERS SHOULD NOT BE GIVING OUT REBATE FORMS AND PROMISING REBATES TO CUSTOMERS WHO DO NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR THE REBATE ! SIGN ME UP FOR THE CLASS ACTION SUIT

Tire Kingdom rebate

Tire Kingdome had a Hundred Doller Holiday rebate on the purchas of 4 new tires. I purchased 4 new tires from the Bradenton Florida Tire Kingdom and sent in the required information to the rebate center.
I now have received a notice that I will not receive my rebate due to the SKU number not being on the invoice showing where I purchased the tires. I have contacted this Tire Kingdom location and they will not respond to my calls. I have contacted the corporate location and they will only record the compalaint.
I will never purchase anything from a Tire Kingdom again.

Tire Kingdom unfair practices

I went in for 2 tires on the front. Salesman john checked the mileage and tires. During an hour of waiting john proceeds to show me the radiator cap saying "if we had done this it would not look like this". I replied "the last time I had tires put on one of the lug nuts was not even screwed in". The car was finished, I paid and left only to return with a shimming in the frontend. Both tires that were moved from the back to the front were splitting. Now, I need two more tires. After replying why they were not caught. You have time to show me my radiator cap but no observation of removing tires from one area to another : the tires split. On top of that, a group of 'out of the country' customer needs tires for a 38' boat trailer and they give them a deal on their tires. Mine they miss a real problem and cannot seem to give me a discount. As I asked the manager tom is the buy 4 tire deal still on. He says "no! Not those tires. No deal for me just a slap in the face attitute. I'll take me autos somewhere else, and my friends too.

Tire Kingdom scam charge

I went to tire kingdom in salisbury nc on 11/9/07. Wanted two new tires, all 4 wheels aligned, brakes checked for wear and an oil change. After finding the brakes had 50% wear left I declined replacing them. What I got was an inflated shop charge from $4.00 to $14.00.

Just an aligment check nothing actually fixed. All four tires inflated to 70 psi.

I did not pay for the alignment or shop charge.

I am not exactly sure why this is a complaint. Simply stating that a charge is a scam is not a valid complaint. It is probably important to note that the same charge you claim is a scam is present industry wide. This is not a new charge nor is it a scam. The shop fee is a charge automatically computed by the point of sale invoice system. In the office next to the front counter or somewhere very visible should have been a TK corporate policy statement explaining this charge. In summary it is a fee of 10% of the pretax service charge that recovers the expense of miscellaneous fluids and materials. It also covers the disposal and cleaning of those materials above and beyond the disposal fee of oil. Rags must be contained in a special bin. Disposable oil quarts cannot be simply thrown away like you might do at your house (which is also not the correct disposal technique). They must be stored in a leak proof container and we are charged to dispose of them. This is the same container for oil filters. This is only some of the expenses. There is cleaning of the vehicle, floor mats, steering wheel covers, seat covers, hand soap, etc. The list is much longer. Very much longer!

As you can see it would be near impossible to bill you separately for each item. That would be time consuming and would probably result in an even higher charge to compensate for the complicated billing procedure.

No doubt it may be a little higher than some other corporate shops or dealers but most likely right around the same. Individual shop owners may or may not charge for this. I have seen this go both ways. Eventually even individual shop owners realize they must recover this expense somehow.

As for not paying for the alignment I am not sure why that is a problem. Tire Kingdom offers Alignment checks for free. 70-80% of all vehicles that have not been aligned in the last 6 months will require an alignment. That percentage maybe even higher. That is a stat based on personal experience as a mechanic for the last 20 years. However, if you asked to have an alignment performed the difference between checking the alignment and actually making an adjustment is minor. Often times it takes only a few extra minutes to adjust the alignment. Basically you are getting all the work for free as a courtesy and then you are complaining about it. If you asked for an alignment then you should have been charged for it and you would have received all of the warranty that comes with it. A one time alignment at TK usually costs about 79.99 depending of course on your market area. That alignment comes with a 6 month warranty. You could have your vehicle aligned again in 6 months before the warranty ran out and you would be properly maintaining you tires. Without that warranty it is entirely possible that any wear patterns that your tires experience will not be covered. Obviously you did not maintain them by having the alignment done every six months. You are now just hoping that your alignment did not go out of adjustment. TK keeps records. And in six months you can say all you want about the last time you were in and how your alignment was fine but that salesman or manager is probably not going to remember your specific situation as they deal with many, many customers every day. They will simply look in the computer and see that an alignment was offered but you declined. That is evidence of not properly taking care of you tires. That will probably void the mileage warranty.

Tire Kingdom never again

It was a sunday and my car was able to run and start up I just had been having issues with the steering wheel and car locking up and having the service engine soon light come on the night before, I had my car towed just for safety reasons to your store.

The manager, I believe quoted me $95 to run a diagnostic test on my car and said he'd put it toward the repair if I agreed to the price and procedure. I did. He informed me it would take an hour.

After the wait, I was told they found nothing and reset my car and test drove it twice with no problems. The mechanics told me they thought it was just a glitch.

I wasn't very happy when I had to pay $95 and have to wait an hour when they really didn't do anything.

I was even more upset when I broke down the very next day. I took it somewhere else and they told me I had 3 things wrong with it and I had to pay almost $500 just so my car would be drivable.

I still have my receipts and I emailed corporate this letter.

This is tricky. What exactly was wrong with your car? $500 is not a good description. There is also the distinct possibility that something failed on your car with no warning which was unrelated to the original check engine light diagnosis. Let me try to put this in perspective. Regardless of what is wrong with your knee, you are still going to have to pay the x-ray and or mri fee. A much higher fee but still a fee. I have a computer to scan ALMOST all vehicles and that cost me $8000. So I can not justify spending time hooking my equipment up to your car for no cost. That is why you pay the $95 fee. I do not know why they did not tell you what the code was at the time of the original check out. Usually the practice would be to tell you what the code was and then the possible problems it would cause and the cost to fix them. Sometimes your vehicle does not present the problems to the technician and it would be impractical to drive your vehicle for a week to get it to act up.
It is unfortunate that your car broke down a day later but it is not uncommon. Your fuel pump is an electric motor and can and will fail with no warning. Not even a check engine light most of the time. I have had the fuel pump fail in the shop with customers coming in to get tires. Totally unrelated. It might not happen all the time but it still happens. There are many examples.
If it was related to the original check engine light diagnosis then I am willing to bet that the Tire Kingdom would be willing to give you the deal by subtracting the $95 fee from the repair. That is pretty common practice at large corporations.

Tire Kingdom fraudulent air filter

On Monday I had my tires rotated, balanced and alignment performed. They did not have the oil filter so I waited until today, before Thanksgiving, to have the oil change completed.

As I was about to leave the manager, Lee, indicated that the air filter was "very dirty" and that, while it did not need to be replaced today, it should be replaced soon and asked if I wanted it replaced right then and there.

I replied that, no, I'll wait until early 2010 and then have it replaced. He warned me that a dirty air filter may cause the auto to over heat.

When I got home I pulled the air filter and it was completely white, as it should have been since it was replaced when I bought the car a few months back. I called back and got hold of "Jeremy." Jeremy apologized for the manager, Lee, and said that "he'd told the shop guys to actually inspect the filters instead of guessing that they were dirty by the number of miles." Can you believe this stuff?

When I asked him how could I ever return and how could I guarantee that my tires were rotated and balanced he replied, "yes, I can understand your question!"

Do not trust this shop!

These people at Tire Kingdom in Indian Harbor are total con men. I went in for the advertised 2 for 1 tire deal. I wanted 2 front tires, 1 of which is $170. The total came out to $480! They force you to buy an alignment package. He then said that I need to put the new tires on the back and my old worn out ones on the front because, "You want the good ones on the front." The only reason he said that is so that they wouldn't have to do the alignment! These people are ### and will rip you off any chance they get.

I find it strange that someone would tell you that you do not need to replace the air filter right now but soon and then tell you that it could cause your car to overheat. That really doesn't make any sense. That was probably some misunderstanding. Managers at any tire store will have worked in the industry long enough to know that is not going to happen. Your fuel mileage may drop as the air flow will be restricted. I do believe he told you it is not necessary to replace it immediately.

Actually I can believe this stuff! Most automotive parts are recommended replaced on a mileage interval. Check your service manual and there should be a mileage checklist which every automotive repair shop including Tire Kingdom will adhere to as much as possible. The air filter should be in that list. If the service center didn't recommend the replacement of parts and services based on mileage then they would be doing you a disservice. Of course, ultimately it is up to you to keep track of what you have and have not had done.

I would be suspect of someone requiring the replacement of an air filter after a visual inspection. I do not know what type of vehicle you drive but some filters are very hard to remove. Since the inspection is usually free, they may not spend the extra time to visually check, and just recommend based on mileage instead. It is not a safety related item so it does not get prime billing on the list of "need to check" items.

A simple visit back to the place of business and a request for an explanation would be sufficient. That way the manager and the technician can also verify the condition of the Air Filter. Sometimes messages get mixed from the technician to the sales associate. It does not sound like the manager was trying to defraud you in any way since the cost to install most air filters is only $25. It is hardly worth the time to install and is only offered as a convenience to the customer. If they were trying to defraud you I would expect a recommendation of something more important such as brakes or tires or some other safety related item.

Complaining about something so frivolous does not solve much but possibly deters other people from taking their business to a place that doesn't deserve the insult. If it was found that someone was trying to defraud you then taking the above step would insure that the person responsible would be disciplined. This would result in other non suspecting customers being treated correctly in the future.

There is no reason to believe that your tires were not balanced or rotated. It is also very easy to determine. A simple mark on your tires would indicate if they were rotated and if your tires do not vibrate at highway speeds (45mph and more) then they are in balance. If they do vibrate simply bring it back and they should balance the tires at no charge. It is very common to have a weight fall off during normal driving.

Tire Kingdom dishonest and deceptive

Beware. They are dishonest and deceptive. They only care about making money. I took my car to Tire Kingdom, 3550 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, Florida. I went in for a diagnostic check because my car was hesitating when I accelerated. They lied about me needing a new fuel pump (I had just had that replaced!) Then they tried to tell me it was the injectors and quoted me $700 to do the job. I drove home 5 hours later with the same problem. I no longer trusted anything they said. My husband looked under the hood and found a spark plug wire that had fallen against the exhaust manifold causing an arc. He thought that could be the cause of our problems. He taped the wire, moved it away from the hot manifold and drove the car. It drove without any problems! He is not a certified mechanic and was able to fix the car in 5 minutes!

This is an unfortunate situation. Most technicians at any auto repair facility check for damage to the ignition system(spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor) first. I don't know why they would tell you that your fuel pump was the problem without diagnosing it. If they had done a fuel pressure check which is pretty easy to do they would have determined this. Of course, doing a fuel pressure check or injector diagnosis will incur a fee due to the time and tools it takes to accomplish. $95 is a typical initial diagnosis fee. Maybe they were just informing you of the possible problems with your vehicle. Injectors would indeed cause a problem similar to the one you described.

Did you get the work done? Your complaint said you were only quoted. If you had the work done and had the exact same problem then why did you not go right back and inform the repair staff immediately. There is the possibility that the injectors fixed the problem and the technician will usually always test drive before and after to verify the repair. It is also possible that during the repair a spark plug wire was misrouted when reinstalling and ended up next to the manifold. The symptoms can be identical. It may be sloppy work but it would not be dishonest or deceptive.

If indeed you did pay the original diagnosis fee and they found the injectors to be bad and then charged you $700 and it did not fix the problem and you later found that it was just a spark plug wire you could always ask for the results of any test they performed and the old parts so that you could take it to someone else for verification. Otherwise there would be no way to tell for sure. If it was found that the old injectors were ok then a refund would be in order. In this situation Tire Kingdom should reinstall the old injectors and refund you the money for the repair.

I also think that it is odd that your uncertified husband was able to fix the car in 5 minutes AFTER the $700 repair but not before. Is he in the habit of waiting until spending hefty sums of money before he understands complicated automotive systems? With this kind of immediate knowledge I would recommend your husband for your automotive repairs.

Tire Kingdom difficulty in making payments

I have been very frustrated with trying to pay my tire kingdom credit card bills. There is not a clear website address and when you finally find one you can't get back to it again even if you save it to your desktop or favorites. If you try to call the company they tell you there is a $14.95 fee to pay over the phone. If you don't get it in the mail in time they will charge you a ridiculous late fee and to priority mail it it will cost $17.95. Last month my payment was for $12.00 so obviously none of those options were going to work. I want to know why there is a fee to pay over the phone and why you can't ever get to the proper website easily to pay online. This is messed up.

FLOATING DUE DATE
Covington, US
Jan 03, 2010 1:37 pm EST

I tried repeatedly to pay my tire kingdom bill online and was not allowed on. I paid the first day I was admitted and was given a late fee for not paying on time. This was unexpected since my due date had not been reached. Surprisingly, a review of my bills showed that myPAYMENT DUE DATE HAD BEEN CHANGED EVERY MONTH! They have been making the date earlier and earlier every month, so that finally, by paying on the due date I had believed to be set, I was late. Outrageous!

Tire Kingdom online payment

I began paying my tire kingdom credit card online once they finally gave that option. The computer that I had bookmarked the page on was damaged and is under repair. I tried to go online to make a payment, but have been unable to find a way to do so. I tried to contact their customer service to only get a recording that they do not open until 9am eastern time. I tried the tire kingdom web site along with a google search. This is not a good way to do business.

Friday I arrived at tire kingdom 6500 sw.117 ave. I took off my sunglasses and put them back in their case. Went ahead and had 4 new tires installed. When they finish the job was already getting dark therefore I didn't need my glasses. Saturday I didn't leave my house. Today sunday when I got in my car the sunglasses were missing but the case was there. Apparently someone took the glasses but left the case behind. What are the chances that someone would break in the car go thru the compartments take the glasses and leave the case behind? By the way there was no sign of a break in. The glasses were armani $150.

Telephone agreement to supply and fit new specified make and model of tire. Tire Kingdom claimed 4 tires in stock. Order taken and car entered workshop and on jacks with wheels off. One hour later, check of progress reveals 'manager' has gone somewhere to retrieve two tires to complete job. Had invested time earlier locating specific tire and was therefore ultimately held 'captive' for 3 1/2 hours, costing me an afternoon's work. Fitting of adhesive weights technique unprofessional. Broken clip on wheel-center trim. Expensive to replace. Broken component thrown into trunk. Spare wheel replaced in trunk but incorrect lock-down nut used. No offer of refund or compensation for screw-up. Falken tires have allied themselves with losers for retail outlet, I believe.

I recently bought a rim and tire package on November 2, 2009 from Tire Kingdom in Columbia, SC. I had to put down about $400 dollars on them and have a year to pay them off before they start charging interest. In March 2010 a pothole on hwy 378 popped the tire and cracked the rim.

The tire is unfixable and when I asked who is responsible for paying for it, the answer is me since the manufactureer wont and tire kingdom refuses to. We have filed a formal complaints and talked to corporate and the shop itself without any results. I advise anyone wanting to buy from tire kingdom to reconsider as they do not have good waranty or rules/guidelines on defective products.

So now i have to file a report with the city and highway patrol to see if they are willig to pay for the totaled rim, which is highly doubtful.

got suckered in to buying 4 tires in July of 2008. did it because of a $500 gas card.

Long, disgusting story short-I've sent in my receipts every month since August of 2008, and exclusively bought Shell gas, despite it being more expensive and hard to find, and still haven't received a single $25 card.

numerous complaints, numerous excuses, and many lies later, I have given up.

buyer beware...free gas cards are a scam...you will lose. I did.

I visited the Tire Kingdom in Merritt Island FL to take advantage of the buy 2 get 2 promotion they were having. As i'm sitting in the waiting room 2 guys come in being loud, obnoxious, and drunk. They made inappropriate comments towards me and made me fill very uncomfortable. The manager on duty Paul sat back and did absolutely nothing about it and he even stated my credit card looked like a hotel key what a ***. I also know that he excepted beer from these guys as there was beer at the front counter. These guys were drinking on the property as well and no one made them leave. I hope that Tire Kingdom has someone that checks these sites and will see this and do something about it. What an awful way to do business I will never visit that Tire Kingdom again as long as Paul is there.

I took my car in for oil change and tire balance and rotation, I purchased my tires there two years ago. The manager called me and said my front two tires needed to be replaced that I had damaged them by running over or hitting something, and my struts were going bad so that may also cause the problem Since I did not purchase road hazard I would have pay full price for two new tires.
On top of that they sent me a quote for over two thousand dollars worth of work that needed to be done (my car runs fine absolutely no problems) and my boyfriend and boss reviewed and said was ridiculous at what they listed and what the charges would be and what is ironic about this is the last time I took it in for service they said I needed a new serpentine belt asap and the charge would be approx $300.00 I declined the service called other mechanic referred to me he quoted me a third of the price and when he looked at it said it was fine didnt need to be replaced...now on the newest quote Tire Kingdom doesnt even mention this belt that I never had changed that they said was so deteriorated previously

Anyways I did not have them change out my tires I picked up car took to another place to get second opinion, first only one tire needed to be placed but mostly they said there was no way I couldve done that damage and the tire was in fact defective..they were able to contact tire manufacturer and give me a new tire at a prorated price obviously much lower than Tire Kingdom wanted to charge me

I also have had problems with my brakes since they did them when I took car back with complaints brakes grinding they said it was my fault and only after I put my foot down did he repair without a charge

Also I would like to say the only reason I returned there after previous dishonest tactics is I get the free rotation and balance since I bought the tires there and I am on a tight budget Needless to say I will not return there

On Jan. 21, 2010 my husband brought my car to tire kingdom on Highway 27 to change the thermostat. Due to were it was located on the engine he was unable to get to it and we had to have a mechanic do it. He picked up the car later in the day and started to drive. H e got approx. 2 miles and the car started overheating and smoking. He pulled over to let it cool and then started to check all the fluids. To hes surprise TK never put coolant, water, or any kind of fluid back in the engine. No fluid means blown head gaskets. For a week and a half we tried to contact the manager(Mark Tracey) and he happened to be on vacation. 2 weeks later still no manager and no return call we decided to contact the corp. office. We placed more then a dozen phone calls to corp... we finally got a call back over a month later. Tk said they would help us fix the problem and to discuss what they needed to due and give them a call back the next day. The next day when we called they said we needed to buy a new engine and they would give us a discount putting it in. We explained the situation again and tried to explain we wouldnt need a new engine if they would have put fluid in it... so why are we resposible? Corp office told us they were investigating what happened and would get back to us. That was over two weeks ago. We have called numerous times and still no call and no engine. We had to go buy a new car so I could get to and from work. In all honesty TK is the worst car repair place and the best place to give you the complete runaround.

Tire Kingdom ripped off and angry

We purchased two tires on August 2007 for our sons 2005 Ford Focus. He put exactly 25, 000 miles on these 60, 000 mile tires. We realized in May 2009 that one tire was not retaining air and that they both had no tread and needed to be replaced. As the tires were under 2 years old and under 50% of the manufactures mileage usage, we expected Tire Kingdom would credit us about 50% of the original tire price toward replacement tires. Original price was 100.00 each.

They instead informed us the tires showed uneven wear and they would only credit us 25.00 on each tire. Please note that the tires were rotated three times and realigned once in this 20 month period. We agreed to the replacement deal although we felt it unfair.

Then to top it off we realized when we got the vehicle home that the manufacture date on the tires was March 2006! The new tires we had just purchased were already three year old and will be worthless and dangerous in three more. We did try to view the code before leaving Tire Kingdom but the tire was installed in such a way that you must crawl under the car with a flashlight to see it.

I will never do business with this company again!

I doubt the tire is unsafe. Although there is a possibility of getting a tire 3 years old, it is rare. Even so it will be covered under the exact same warranty as a brand new tire since it is basically brand new. If there is obvious signs of dry rot then at that time bring it back to work out a deal getting it replaced.

Also getting an alignment done once in 20 months is not enough. Especially on a Ford Focus. Smaller cars tend to take a bit more abuse from the road. The suspension is not as stout as a bigger car hence there is less material to absorb the shock from the road. Once every 6 months would be better. A 3 or 5 year alignment policy would solve this problem if you intend to keep and maintain the vehicle. If not the policy is always transferable to another vehicle.

You also need to rotate the tires more frequently. Three times in 25k miles is not enough. You should rotate the tires every 5k miles. A good time to get them rotated is at every oil change which should be every 3-4k miles. It is free so just get it done!

If you follow the above advice you will have all the ammo you need to get full credit for your worn out tires. Also note that rarely will tires make it all the way to their mileage warranty. You will still get credit.

Tire Kingdom, like most manufacturers, has nothing to hide. If you had asked them at the time of purchase they could have showed you the date code which is recorded on all tires. It is called the DOT number and is visible on the tire. Sometimes it is placed on the inside. Not on purpose. There is no need to crawl under your vehicle. It is even on your receipt.

Tire Kingdom is the biggest independent tire dealer and it will probably be impossible to beat the price on tires anywhere. Your choice to do business elsewhere will only result in the exact same scenario just higher cost. You also will not get the support of hundreds of locations throughout the U.S. If I were as dissatisfied as you I would probably just go to a different location. Just expect the same treatment until you follow the above procedures.

Tire Kingdom cheater unprofessional

Very Bad experience. I have my car replaced with 4 new tires (Mich Harmony MO1, 185/65R15). Later I found that the Aspect Ratio is not 65 instead of 60 on the tires. Very unprofessional.

Plus they offered free alignment checkup and then told me my wheels were out alignment and needed to adjusted. I suspected they did something to the alignment and refused to do the adjustment. Later proved that because the gas mileage dropped sharply so that I took my car to the dealer to do alignment. After the alignment the gas mileage recovered. So the free alignment checkup was a trap.

Felt pressured while there. Trying to ”up-sell” everything, telling me the tires I purchased from them weren't good enough, that I should go for the more expensive brand. I explained to him that I was trading my car in soon for a new one, but that did not stop him from trying to sell me other services as well. Very high pressure sales environment. Will go back to Sams Club, no pressure there. You get you want, pay a fair price, and walk away feeling satisfied, and not feeling like you were taken advantage of.

I am not sure what tire you are referring to. If you are referring to the Michelin MO1 then it only comes in a 185/65/15. That tire size with the 65 ratio is cheaper than the limited selection of 185/60/15. The comparable tire would be the Michelin AMI. And that tire would be more expensive. If you do not have the MO1 on your vehicle but on your receipt then it is possible someone made a mistake and gave you more expensive tires. Yay for you!

If you do have the MO1 on your car but are supposed to have the 60 series tire then it is possible that the salesman was attempting to save you some money and give you the optional tire size. The difference is 5%. The 65 is the ratio/percentage of sidewall height computed by 65% of 185. You can do the math. I would opt to have that tire put on my car at an average of half the cost. In your case it is only about $10 cheaper per tire.

The alignment issue is probably not likely. It is more difficult to actually make an adjustment for free then it is to just take the car off of the alignment rack. It isn't impossible but the wear pattern of your old tires would be a tell tale sign of a misaligned vehicle. If you had purchased the alignment then the technician would have had to go through the trouble of aligning the vehicle twice. Technicians really don't get paid that much to align vehicles at Tire Kingdom so that is unlikely. And FYI, most vehicles that have not had an alignment done in the last 6 months require some adjustment. That is just the lay of the land. Literally. The metal is meant to flex somewhat. Nothing is made to last forever. Lucky for us car owners the manufacturer creates adjustments to constantly tweak the suspension to keep the tires wearing evenly.

I highly doubt anyone would make changes to ur alignment to sell you one. It simply is not worth the time or effort . You are obviously uneducated about automobiles and what it takes to prevent tire wear.

Tire Kingdom fraud, fraud, fraud

On 3/18/09 at 12:53 pm I delivered my Lexus sedan to Tire Kingdom on SR 7 in Boca Raton FL to replace two from tires and to change the oil. I had inspected all the tires myself together with my neighbor (who sells cars for a living) and determined the front tires needed to be replaced and the rear tires had more than 1/2 the thread still left and was good. Later that afternoon, Arend Ferverda (the manager at the location) called me and said I need Rear tires as well, Alignment for all 4 wheels and that my brake pads were overly worn and need to be replace for $229 each wheel.

He said that the Alignment would cost $129 and th extra tires were the same cost as the front tires. I told him that i had inspected the rear tires and they were fine. He said that they were not safe. I became suspicious because I saw with my own eyes the rear tires were fine. So I told him that I would have to call him back. I called Lexus service at the local dealer and they said the the brake pads ($229 each for a total of four Arend Fenwerda quoted) does not need to be replaced unless the light is on indicating it is wearing which was not the case. They also said that they would do the Alignment for $89 and had no opinion on the rear tires as they had not seen it.

I called Arend back at Tire Kingdom and told him that Lexus would do the Alignment for $85 dollar and he immediately said the he would do it for $79. I told him that I was not interested in the Brake pads and that i would rather have Lexus do the Job. I further told him I would only agree to have the rear tires replaced if He would keep the old ones for my inspection and he would put them back on if I wanted. He agreed. Lexus later said the brake pads were fine.

I went to pick up my car and guess what? They cannot find the Old tires for my inspection and would not give me the car unless I paid them in full. Arend Fenwerda says to pay the bill take the car and come back tomorrow morning and I will have your old tires for you. Well that never happened he gave me more excuses as to why he could not find the old tires.

Worst, as I am walking toward my car I see a big dent and scratched and light color paint on the driver side front. I immediately turned around walked into the service area and spoke to David Shaffer (acting Manager since Arend Ferwerda has left for the day). David say the dent looked like someone drove the car and hit something. He acknowledge that It had to have happened there as there were no reports of dents on the car and continued to fill out a customer Refund form, signing it and putting is information on it and describing the damage. He said that I would have to bring the car back tomorrow when Arend Ferwerda was there to get a picture to send it into corporate and they would make arrangement to fix my car and pay for it.

Well the next day, Arend Ferwerda Looks at the car and says that it did could not have happened there. I told him that When the car arrived that it was fine now it is wrecked and it happened while the car was in your possession. He said that he would call this insurance people and he would get back to me. I had to call him 3 days later since he never called and he kept delaying me. First the guy that worked on the car was not here today and other excuses. Then I finally stopped in to see Arend Ferwerda and He says they cannot help me period. It was not there fault. I simply told him that he would regret it and left. 10 minutes later he calls me and says that he spoke to his regional manager Adam Bowsky [protected]) and he said that they would repair the car. Arend Ferwerda said for me to get 3 quotes and that they would reimburse me.

I got three quotes to repair it and call Adam Bowsky to let him know. He asked how much it was and then said that he was going to have to turn it over to his insurance company. A week later I get a call from a Jennifer Dougherty, Senior Claim Rep for Gallagher Bassett Services, 13801 Riverport Dive Suite 501, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, [protected] x 244. I told her what had happened and she proceeds to say that the mechanic said that it could not have happened there because the paint on the car was white where the dent was (it is actually pail yellow) and all the pumper in the garage was yellow. I told here that this is funny since David Shaffer signed a refund report saying it was damaged there. She wanted to see the document. I emailed her all three quotes to fix the car and the refund form signed by David Shaffer.

A week later I get an email from her saying that 'we reviewed the service invoice in which it was indicated, before they worked on your vehicle that there were scratches to the left front' and they were denying the claim. This bought back memories of my corporate attorney telling me that the biggest scammer in this country is Insurance companies.

This business Tire Kingdom Is nothing more than a scam! They do work to your vehicle that you do not need and you cannot trust them. Is there anyone else having problem with them? Please write back here. I have a few Ideas on what I should do, feel free to recommend some as I can use them.

By the way, I have in invoice for the work and nowhere on it does It say anything about scratches or any damage when the car was checked in...

There Logo is Tire Kingdom: Service Brakes Batteries and More. I guess I got the 'more'. Hope this does not happen to you, but be very careful there.

Dear orland:
I have a problem with a purchase of tires from you store at 1014 s u. S.

In making things right.
This is the situation: in august my husband bought 3 tires from your
Store and at the time of purchase he was told he would get the buy 3 get

1 free deal. At that time we didn't need the 4th tire so when he was
Checking out he was told he could come back at any time and get it. So
He went back on february 13 to get one of our other tires fixed because
We found a nail in it and we have always purchase the road hazard
Warranty for our tires. So at that time my husband said can I go ahead
And get my other free tire for my car and explained to the man at the
Counter about what was told to him at the time of purchase. Rich then
Informed him that he would take care of the tire with the nail, but
Would not give us our other tire for free because he said it was never
Offered on those tires. So on that day I called [protected] and ask
For the area manager to call me back about this. Now it is monday and i
Still haven't gotten a call back. I call the store back and spoke with
Rich who tells me he will send an email to his manager and ask him to
Call me. Chris the area manager (who never gave his last name) finally
Calls my husband back and tells him that he would not give him the tire
For free that we were promised. So now I am having to call chris about
This issue and he says the same thing to me. He then says to me that he
Can give me a discount but he isn't sure so he said he would have to
Call me back about it. He calls me back and informs me that he will sell

Me that tire at cost which would be $200.00 and that would he would wave

The installation charges and also include the road hazard but that would

Be all he could do. I advised him that was not what was offered to my
Husband when he made the original purchase chris then proceeds to tell
Me that he thinks maybe my husband may have misunderstood what was said
To him. Normally I would understand that, but since my husband is a
Service manager and has been in the automotive field for over 20 years,
He clearly understood he was told it was buy 3 get 1 free. After
Speaking with chris and feeling very insulted by what he said about my
Husband, he then continues to question me on why it has been 9 months
(which it hasn't been that long) and now all of sudden I am bringing
This up and then starts to ask me if I even know who the store manager
Was at that time. I said I believe it was bobby and the manager before
Him was name troy. At this point I am very upset with chris and his
Comments and questions towards me. The conversation ended with chris
Telling me that was all he could offer and I explained that I didn't
Feel it was satisfactory and that I would be making contact to the
Corporate office about my concerns.
I have been a customer of tire kingdom's since at least 1997. You should

Be able to pull records by our last name we have bought tires for many
Of our cars at your stores. Here is a small list of some of the stores
We have gone to winter haven, land o' lakes, west hillsborough ave,

For me to make you aware of this situation and the resolution I feel is
Justified to keep me as a customer. Your stores have always had a good
Reputation with us and I trust that you will want to keep a customer
Happy. I see two options:
1. I want my new tire. Which is a mich pilot sport a-s 235-50zr18

Am willing to pay for the road hazard warranty, mounting, balancing and
Disposal fees which would be a total of $ 48.99.

They are about to lose another customer in Apopka Fl due to valuing their policy of how to pay their technicians over my husbands and father of 3's life. His vehicle has been in their shop 4 times now in 10 days time (breaking dow 3 times AFTER getting it "fixed") and $963.00 later is still not fixed. The sad part is the actual mechanic that took a picture of the parts left disassembled under the hood after his second visit in, is not allowed to work on the car until he brings it in for a FIFTH time. His car stops mid driving and I worry that there wont be a fifth time if it stops mid turn of a big intersection here and an unaware drive plows into him killing him! They certainly have proven that they care not about the customer and we too are disappointed as we have been with them for almost 10 years! The technician that has been working on it has been recognized for doing sloppy work recently by all the other guys that work there, but getting him questioned, suspended or fired seems as bad as getting a government agent fired! The loopholes are disgusting!

I suspect this was a huge misunderstanding. I also have never known Michelin to offer a buy three get one free. As a matter of fact they will not even allow the distributor to offer that deal. Tire Kingdoms hands are tied on this issue. They do offer mail in rebates from time to time but I have no knowledge of a buy 3 get one free. However, Tire Kingdom offers buy 3 get one free on many other brands like Yokohama and Sumitomo quite often. Not only that, but if they had offered that special it will be on the receipt. Clearly marked 4 tires purchased with a separate line stating the discount of exactly the price of one tire and why it was discounted. Regardless of what he believes he was told he did sign both an invoice and receipt. That should end any argument about a discrepancy. It is a shame you would not want to be the customer of a place because of a misunderstanding. Especially after an offer of tire at cost and free installation. Tire Kingdom does not make very much on tires. No tire place makes very much on tires. Mark up on tires is often less than 12% just to remain competitive. Michelins are the worst at below 12%.

Tire Kingdom gas redemption scam.

The free gas redemption offer is a scam. I have followed all the rules and sent in my gas receipts for Nov- Feb and have not received any gas rebates. Tire kingdom promoted the offer in their store. If you buy 4 tires at least $500 you get $500 in gas rebates. Tire Kingdom needs to stand by the offer and honor it to its custmers. They will lose customers because of it. it is a trust issue. I would like a followup to this matter. Pam [protected] or email [protected]@aol.com.

Sounded great at the time. it is 5 months later several phone calls and even the $5 certified check that had to be mailed in and NOTHNG we have not received a penny. I see lots of complaints for this and think something should be done. It is a complete scam either on the dealers part or this FREE GAS REDEMPTION company. How are impossible to get in touch with. Their e-mail address doesn't work and either does their phone #

I went to Tire Kingdom because of the advertisement for the free gas. I have not received any gas cards and I have sent in all the receipts. This was a mutual agreement between Tire Kingdom and the gas rebate people, so Tire Kingdom has the liability to make right this advertisement! Either in a cash refund or $500.00 worth of products!

Tire Kingdom bad tires, beware

I have been a customer of tire kingdom since 2003. I purchased four tires in 2003.in approximately three years, march 18, 2006 I returned for a tire repair and was told I needed four new tires. I bought four new tires again, with extended warranty and lifetime alignment. After doing research, I realized that I was buying tires every three years. This should not be, I would expect this if I purchased used tires.in fact, I was actually told a few months ago that I needed tires, at that time the tires were two years old. I also found out that they put the wrong size tire on my suv grand jeep cherokee and the tire that was recommended was not recommended for a suv. I am unhappy with the quality tires and the unprofessional decisions made by you staff. I relied on them to give me professional advice. I cannot afford to keep spending over $400.00 on tires every three years. I went to store # 63 on january 6, 2009 at 6:30pm to get a tire change. The tire could not be repaired so they put the spare on carmen discepola was helpful. On january 14, 2009 I called tire kingdom S corporate office and expressed my concerns, I was told someone would get back to me but I have not been contacted. I do realize you have other customers but my vehicle is making noises because of the spare tire and the tread on the other tires. My vehicle have never preformed so poorly. I need a resolution to this problem asap.

The majority of tires sold, by Tire Kingdom, have a treadwear warrnty guarenteed by Tire Kingdom and not by the tire manufacturer. The plan is to make sure the consumer returns to the company to have the 'prematurely' worn out tires adjusted out and replaced and at the same time, to sell the customer service work. Tire Kingdom is about moving "units" ie tires and selling service, including tire mounting packages.
The sales person is not to be blamed for selling tires that do not last. Yes, that sales person makes commission from the sales, but he also takes a hit to his commission by discounting (adjusting) his sales.
This is probably true of any tire business that offers a guarentee, so the consumer has to accept these facts and business practices.

Often the salesman is under pressure to quote the customer the cheapest tire possible to satisfy the customer. Often that pressure is coming from the customer. Although I do understand that there are tires that can fit on your SUV and are not rated for it, most times you are informed. Yes $400.00 is very cheap for 4 tires on an SUV. There could also be other reasons they wear out prematurely. You also did not mention how many miles you are driving in this period of time. The average person drives between 12k and 15k a year. In 2 years that could be 30K or more if you drive more. If that cheap tire is only rated to 40K and you don't rotate and balance and align regularly then the wear time is about right.

Like 2muchinfo said, "you get what you pay for." A good tire with a mileage warranty that will last longer would cost you twice as much or more.

If your only paying 400.00 dollars to put tires on a Jeep grand Cherokee you get what you pay for. A good set of suitable tires for that kind of vehicle sould run well over 550. SO next time dont ask for the cheapest tire you can get.

Tire Kingdom gasoline redemption

On 10/13/08 I had my car serviced at tire kingdom and due to amount of money I spent ($730.57) I was advised I was entitled to receive up to five hundred dollars in gas or merchandise from the brand gas station of my choice and was given an activitation code fgr6741041600. Companies offering this promotion were ntb, merchant's and tire kingdom.

All I needed to do was mail in $100 in receipts on gas purchased within the month. I have a letter that was mailed to me from the secure gas redemption place, with vouchers that I needed to return each month. I was to mail them to free gas, 14100 walsingham rd ste 36 #12, largo fl 33774

On 1/26/09, after numerous calls [protected]) as the phone line was busy, I was successful in reaching a representative (nick) who in turn told me my 1st voucher was in the mail and I should have it by friday of that week.

As nothing as come to date I tried calling the same number back and am now being told on the phone that this number is invalid, therefore I went on the website that is listed on my paperwork for any questions (www.SecureGasRedemtion.com/faq.asp) and am now being advised that this is a scam.

Could you please assist. I have all my paperwork advising that I was entitled to $500 in free gas.

Thank you,

Ok...For those out there with the complaint on the Gasoline Redemption Voucher. I have an update, as I have furthered my complaint.

I called Tire Kingdom and was advised that there was a problem with the [protected] number. I needed to call and speak wih Martha @ [protected]. At this number I was advised if I was calling in regards to the Gas Redemption, I needed to call [protected].

I called this number and spoke with Alex, who needed my redemption code. He was able to find me in the computer on the 3 months vouchers that I have sent in.

He indicated that there was a mass mailing sent out in January and there is another one that should be going out SOON. We'll see, however he seemed helpful and assuring and advised me that this IS NOT A SCAM. Again, we'll see.

I hope this is helpful to those in the same boat.

It is so funny that I signed up for this same program but the companies name was at www.freegasredemption.com. I spoke to the marketing agent responsible for this program in Tirekingdoms corporate location. Her name is Diane Smith. She can be reached at [protected] ext 2454. Call her and tell her your stories. The AG of State of Florida took over receivership of Tidewater Marketing who went under many names, Do a google search on free gas redemption complaints. You will see that Tire Kingdom failed to even research this company first and Tidewater had complaints going back to early part of 2007. How can Tirekingdom do this? Read this link below.

February 20 2009, 6:07 PM EST

A Clearwater marketing company on Friday agreed to stop promoting its "free gas" voucher program, in response to a lawsuit filed last week by the Florida Attorney General's office after thousands of Floridians complained they never got the promised fuel.

The complete article can be viewed at:

People that were scammed should also stand in front of the Tirekingdom location and protest, ruin their business for the day. Also go to www.tirekingdom.com, scroll to the bottom of the page and this is what is posted on their site.

A Special Message concerning the gas promotion

Tire Kingdom recently engaged in promotion where customers who purchased tires became eligible to participate in a gasoline voucher program from Tidewater Global Marketing and www.gasolineredemption.com Tire Kingdom paid for its customers to participate in this program. Unfortunately, it now appears that Tidewater Global Marketing may be unable to fulfill its obligations under the program.

Tire Kingdom prides itself in customer service. Tire Kingdom will implement an alternative program. Tire Kingdom is finalizing the details of this alternative program, and will make them available soon. Please check back on this website in the next few days to receive final information on the details and requirements.

What we should be demanding from Tirekingdom is to fulfill this offer and give us the $500.00 gas card in one card. Email me at ricke3661@gmail.com if anyone wants to spend a day protesting in front of the corporate location in Jupiter Florida.

Tire Kingdom service not needed

On Jan 12, 2009, I went to Tire Kingdom in Palm Harbor, Fl., for a routine oil change. I asked that the two front tires be checked. Once the ticket had been written up I asked If I should stay, I was told I could leave. I later received a call from the service manager Greg Deel, (not sure how to spell it).
He informed me I needed 4 struts @ $119.99 each not including labor. I replied I was not interested it is a '97 Chrysler and did'nt know how much longer I would keep the car. He proceeded to convince me by telling me mechanically it was fine and that he would charge me for 3 and install 4 struts. I recevied a credit for $88.00 not $119.00. He (service manager) also said keep in mind it's 2 car payments. He said he would rotate the 2 back tires to the front they are new, and the old to the back. $874.00, later my car has not driven the way it did when I drove in on 1/12/09. I was charged for aligment on 1/12, and after 2 additional visits 1/23 & 1/26 the car pulls to the right. Hours spent at Tire Kingdon 1/12 -1/26, 9hours 45 min. My car is still pulling to the right. I placed a call on 1/23, to customer service requesting the name of the district manager, I was told they were not privy to that information. Ashley, customer service rep told me the complaint had been documented and I would be receiving an e-mail I'm still waiting. By the way on the 1/23 visit the service manager told me the car had been re-aligned but they could not find the reason for the car to pull to the right. "I probably needed to new 2 tires," what! that is probably all I needed to begin with, I could have spent approximately $200 as opposed to $874.00. The manager Aaron Djean was not there at the time but I called him later, he told me he could understand my frustation, and would compensate me with tires.
I returned on 1/26, on that day, the manager informed me the old tires were fine and they did not need to be changed. It is not about the tires, it is about these people who work at these centers, and push services down your throat.
I don't mind paying for service if it is received. On 12/20/07, I went to this Tire KIngdon with a problem it was taken care of cost $1, 493.01, no complaints, 4/24/08, new brakes and pads installed $637.67 no complaints, 8/03/08 vavle cover gaskets, oil change $307.82 no complaints. My point is I am not complaning now to complain. I feel I was forced to pay for parts & service I did not need.in addition the 2 tires that were new, were installed at Tire Plus 9/08 & 10/08, I was not told then I needed struts. I am a 67 year old female and I was taken advantage of by being convinced I needed these parts. I should have know much better, they are in the business of selling and need to meet their sale quotas one way or the other.in the past I went to them with a problem, this time I went in for a routine oil change. Also the other time there was a different manger Timothy Hurst. I have also requested and received a form from the BBB which I will be sending to BBB.
After the 1/26 visit, the next morning driving to work I called Aaron Dejean store manager, told him the car was still pulling to the right, he told me to bring it in again. How many more hours should I waste at Tire KIngdon? They don't seem to know what they are doing. But of course! I was already charged on 1/12/09, they do not want to spend time on a do over, where they can't charge for the labor. Also the last two times, I have been there I have requested a copy of an invoice showing what was done at N/C both times they have not given me one telling me it's not needed it's not in the computer. What kind of business is this? then people wonder why jobs are sent overseas. I am all for American jobs, and made in America. I am not for shoddy work and being charged for it. I was charged $270.00 for strut labor, $79.99 alignment and it is not aligned. $476.96 struts, $27.00 oil, shop fees $30.00 taxes, by the time all is said and done $875.00., and my car pulls to the right where it drove straight before 1/09/09

The comment about the store in Miami might be true. I highly doubt it though. Why wouldn't people just do the alignment? Why risk your job over something so trivial. Alignments are not that hard to do which is why they are not that expensive compared to other services. Also, I don't understand most of the comment.

Usually struts are recommended to be replaced at over 50k miles. That is the manufacturer recommended replacement interval on most cars including yours. Tire Kingdom did not make that up. Also if the hydraulic fluid is leaking from the seal of the strut. Once you have replaced your struts with Tire Kingdom they should have a lifetime warranty. If you ever have a leak from the strut or an overly bouncy vehicle your strut will be replaced free of charge except labor which should be good for one year from purchase. Also know that your tires will now be under full warranty as long as you rotate and align them. They will adjust the tire according to the mileage used.

It seems your gripe is really the fact that your car pulls. This can be fixed. It is possible that the mechanic or technician is not capable of finding the problem of the pull. Pulls are not uncommon. It could be from the struts installed, tires, axle shafts, worn front end parts not found yet, etc. If you have a problem at the location simply take it to another location and advise them of your dissatisfaction. Sometimes another mechanic can find a problem. We are not all perfect or as qualified as each other. If you had come to my shop I would do all I could at no charge to find the root of your problem.

I hope you find a solution. Complaining about it with no solution is not a solution.

Find the cause and then report the facts. Not opinions.

Tire Kingdom scam/ ripoff

I went into Tire Kingdom today to get two new tires. I purchased the other two 3 months ago. When I went in, I told them that I needed the two new ones put on the front, the front semi-new ones moved to the back, and the back ones gone. Then, I wanted an alignment (which I got scammed into for a ONE YEAR alignment when I purchased the first two).

Anyway, an hour later, I got a call that I need new brakes, brake flush because the fluid was contaminated (?), new struts on the back tires (bull), and I needed to replace the other two tires that I JUST replaced 3 months prior with them.

I got on the Chevy website and got the specs for my car. I have a 2007 HHR and the date I went into the shop was 12/2008. First let me say, my brakes are fine, my brakes didn't need to be flushed or anything like that, the other tires were perfectly fine, and finally the clincher — I DON"T HAVE struts on the back of my car. According to a certified chevy mechanic, I have a transion beam (a solid beam attached to the chassis) and springs on the back of my car. I DONT EVEN HAVE struts in the back. He tried to scam me.

BEWARE FEMALES. They really tried to get $1500.00 out of a $200.00 job.

FYI - As per another mechanic, brakes, springs, front struts, tires, etc., are in perfect working order.

BEWARE RIPOFF!

Actually a one year alignment policy is a bad deal. A better deal is a 3 or 5 year policy that is transferable to another vehicle one time. The reason is you are going to have to get your car aligned about once every 6 months to make sure you don't wear your tires out prematurely.

The Chevy mechanic you talked to failed to inform you correctly. According to shop manuals your vehicle has shocks on the back. Shocks are normally recommended at 50K miles regardless and could be recommended sooner if you show irregular tire wear or leaking hydraulic cylinders. Also a bounce test is helpful. If you bounce on the rear of the vehicle and it does not settle in one bounce or less then you should replace the shocks.

I can not answer for the brakes on your car but a typical wear on front brakes would be at 50k miles. Your driving habits could make that sooner or later depending. The brake flush however should be done every year. Regardless of the condition of the fluid visually. If it is clean you want to keep it that way. If it is dirty it is way to late. Brake fluid is hygroscopic. This means it readily absorbs moisture. This will cause air bubbles to form when the heat builds up. It also cause corrosion of internal brake parts. Not to mention debris which is formed by the seals and rubber lines in the brake system. If you stay on top of this you will avoid costly caliper, wheel cylinder, master cylinder, and maybe even ABS system repairs in the not to distant future. No matter what anyone says you cannot seal a master cylinder well enough to prevent moisture from being absorbed by the brakes system fluid at some time. Once a year. It is only about $70 bucks. That is not expensive over the course of a year.

It is good that you got a second opinion just keep the above in mind. As for the brake lining, Tire Kingdom now uses a brake gauge at most stores. It comes in an easy to read red, yellow, and green indicator. It also records the mm of thickness on a pad. 4mm or less would be a reason to be concerned before further damage is cause to the rotors and possibly calipers.

As for the comment by Mfl5dfkg, Tire Kingdom does not encourage any salesman or associate to sell anything other that recommend or required services for your convenience. I do not know what happen at that location you speak of but I do find it highly unlikely to find a fault with something only a week old. If you had complained to another store or possible a district manager they would take you vehicle apart at no charge to find fault with the manager or mechanic who misinformed you. Discipline would likely be enforced and then other customers would not have to deal with similar situations. However, it is possible that the rear brakes did not get a proper cleaning after the wheel cylinders were replaced a week ago. That would lead the mechanic to believe that the new ones were leaking. It is also possible that the new parts were faulty. It has happened to every mechanic out there. Anybody tells you otherwise they are most likely lying or they haven't been working on cars very long.

Doesn't surprise me at all.
I found this page by Googling, looking to find other Tire Kingdom ripoff stories.
I had my two rear tires replaced yesterday. After putting the new tires back on the mechanic told me I needed to talk to their manager. The manager told me my rear brakes were shot and leaking and I needed them replaced, along with new brake cylinders. Said they were leaking brake fluid too.
I asked if I could see the problem, but he told me since the wheels were back on already, he couldn't take them off unless I signed the order to do all the work.
$400.00 worth of work they wanted to do.
What I suppose he didn't know was that I had had the front AND rear brakes replaced just the week before. And the mechanic who did the work showed me what he had done, as well as showed me the damaged parts he replaced. I've been going to that guy for years, and he's great.
I had expected Tire Kingdom to try to scam me in some way anyway. I just thought they'd give me a little more credit than to be so easily fooled.
The truth about Tire Kingdom and similar places is that they are encouraged to try to sell you stuff you don't need. Equally, they are encouraged to take advantage of the fact most people don't know enough about cars to refute their claims, and they are encouraged to take advantage of the basic trusting nature of people.
I think the BBB needs to come down hard on some of these places.
