This is my experience with the new Telus Mini + device
I recently renegotiated and renewed my 2-year term with Telus and was offered Netflix and several other things. It all sounded good until they told me the new Telus Mini+ would be mailed to me, and after I received it, the old system would be turned off and service terminated. I waited for the package to arrive, then called to let them know it had arrived and wanted to set up an install date. LOL, I was then told they don't install the system; it is the customer’s responsibility to install it, remove the old equipment, and take it to the recycling depot for disposal.
Here is where things start to get screwed up. You see, I am a senior citizen with mobility issues and minimal income; in other words, I am handicapped, as well as having heart and breathing problems. Standing for any length of time is out of the question, so doing things takes me longer than a normal, healthy individual. I tried my best every day for a week to get this system up and working, with no success. I called customer service and talked to an agent who was not as understanding and polite as I am used to getting with Telus and, at one point, was downright rude, even after I explained my handicap problems. He did manage to get the one main TV working from that end, and I then asked him if we could have a service guy come out to connect and get the other set working for me. He said he could, but there would be a charge of $200.00 for the service call. Very disappointed, I said yes; after all, I am paying for a TV service I can’t even use if I don’t. What bothered me the most was not what he said, but how his voice changed to show he knew I had no choice and he had me, and I had no other choice but to agree.
Now the serviceman arrives, does the connection, and it takes him less than 10 min, and he is on his way. He did not wait or check to ensure everything was working as it should be, and he did not remove the old equipment. Now the equipment is supposedly all connected and up and working correctly, as was the old service that I had for the last 10 or so years with very few problems and been a customer with Telus for about 40 years now.
The immediate problem I am having now is that this Mini Telus+ system is flawed and full of problems. I still have one TV that is not functional; the TV cuts in and out at will or freezes, and nothing works. The system is plagued with problems, and the service agents are little to no help, as they expect the customer to play service tech with them directing you like a drone
IF THEY OFFER YOU AN UPGRADE TO THE NEW TELUS+ MINI, THINK AGAIN

P.S. If you had call alert with your old service
With the new service, you will not
Desired outcome: I want this service repaired and properly installed or have the old system back
