Data service
Since June, every month when my service renews, my data stops working. I usually spend 1 to 2 days going from customer service agent to service agent trying to resolve the problem. One of the most frustrating things is when the agent hangs up on me and I have to start the entire process over. Straighttalk has horrible customer and they haven't been able to resolve the problem since June. Once again on November 27, 2023, my service renewed and my data stopped working. I have already called Straighttalk 6 times today trying to resolve the problem and the last two agents hung up. The last agent hung up because I asked for my case to be escalated to the next level.
Here's what they tell me to do each time:
turn on airplane mode and turn off--
turn the phone off and back on
reset net work settings
take out the sim card, turn off phone, turn it back on, reinstall sim card
I do the same things each time i call and still no resolution. Every month I go through the same problem. I started trying to resolve the problem six hours ago.
Claimed loss: Lost time...and I can't buy that back.
Desired outcome: I want my data to work and not stop working when my plan renews.
Poor customer service, inability to purchase phones as advertised
Today (Nov. 25 ) I tried to upgrade two of my phones on my straight talk service (current customer) with their currently advertised specials. I tried to purchase two apple SE's online and it would not give me the current advertised special price of $99 each. I first tried to handle it through their "chat" session and was told since I already had a plan in reserve I could not buy the phones for the sale price without purchasing another plan, which I could not do due to having a plan in reserve. In my second "chat session" the representative told me he could not answer my questions, and after several pauses, said he was transferring me to the sales. After that chat session, I called their customer service three times with the following results. 1st call- the rep. did not know about the specials on Stright Talks site, put me on hold and said they were out of phones for the special. 2nd call- said they were transferring me to sales and hung up after being put on hold several times. 3rd call- asked to speak to a supervisor/complaint department, was put on hold numerous times and then hung up on me after 45 mins. Between the chats and phone calls, I was tied up for over an hour when all I was trying to do was purchase two phones as a current customer! No callback, no text, no emails, no follow-up. Very poor customer service!
Claimed loss: Two pones, $198 as per the advertised special
Desired outcome: Apology and the ability to purchase the two phones as advertized.

Hi Maria,
At your prompting, I followed your directions and re-contacted "chat" through the link you provided yesterday (Monday). After I contacted "chat" again, they had no knowledge of the issues I was having, and did not have the ability (or didn't want to) to pull up the previous "chat" sessions or phone calls. After explaining the matter again, and after 40 mins. with them, they advised me I could not purchase the items that were on sale when I tried to purchase them because they were not on sale now. Please advise me why you directed me to "chat" again if they are unable to help me? This was more time (40 mins.) wasted when I was only trying to purchase new phones to upgrade my existing phones. As a new customer, and after three "chat" sessions and three phone calls I am convinced that the goal is to frustrate the customer until they give up. If you are not going to assist me with trying to spend money with your company and provide customer service, please just tell me that and quit wasting my time and money, There are plenty of other phone services available.

Customer service and technical support
I've been with Straight talk since 2010.
My problem began 2016, when unfortunately I had a horrific incident involving Minnesota State Law enforcement & the MN legal system.
Since 2016, I've accumulated large volumes of paperwork:
●Falsified legal documents
●Altered court transcripts
●Legal documents with my forged signature on them
●Court hearings that never happened
●Mock court hearings
●False arrests
●Falsified jail arrest times
●Falsified police statements
●Kidnapped by MN law enforcement
●Malicious slander
●Held against my will
●Tortured
I have much more including:
●Video recordings
●Audio recordings
●Witness testimony
And much more.
Since 2016, I have had many different phones and phone numbers.
Straight talk wireless will show the many problems over these years of the times and date's when my phone would not work;
●Emails not sent although they showed sent
●Phone calls rerouted
●Dropped calls although showing 100% service
●Switching my service without my knowledge
●Locking me out of my phone (with the same password I always used)
●A different name appearing on my phone other then mine
●A different number appearing on my phone other then mine
●My phone calls interrupted during calls by other phone companies
●I would make legal calls however, I was not talking to that business, it was really weird and alarming
●Locked out of my phone Straight talk customer service unlocked my phone but abruptly locked it back up denying they unlocked it
●Straight talk customer service and support leaving me on hold up to one hour then disconnected me
●Straight talk customer service and support would mock me laugh in the background or hangup on me
●I requested copies of my phone records from Straight talk they denied me stating that I need a court order
●I have also many different numbers for when my phone was being tapped.
Straight talk, denied my phone was being tapped many times but I knew it and at times took advantage of it. I was being followed quite often even when I changed my IP address. I have many more negative experiences with Straight talk that as of this very day November 20, 2023, left me homeless and broke. Prior to 2016, life was alright and I was making 150K being Self employed, I am down to a ebt card. Much more involved I have dates and times for most interactions with Straight talk. All my interactions with Straight talk were recorded on there end as well. I talked to many Supervisor's of Straight talk over the year's.
Thank you for your time
God Bless

Claimed loss: Read attached
Desired outcome: Put yourself in my shoes over this time, most could have been avoided had Straight talk not clouded.
God's Speed Dan
They changed mine & my husband’s zip codes without our consent or knowledge
I do NOT know when but Straight Talk changed mine and my husband’s zip codes on our accounts to Florida and Germantown where we have NEVER LIVED! We have lived in the same zip code for the duration we have had straight talk. We have lived in the same zip code for over 25 years. Straight talk customer service refuses to fix this problem and says each time I try that in order to put our zip code in we have to get a new phone number which is ludicrous! I don’t want a new phone number. Customer service keeps saying it’s the zip code that was given at the time of activation. I said that is false as I didn’t even know those zip codes or towns or lived there at all so why would I give them? They are also charging us taxes according to these 2 bogus zip codes which is NOT right! I have tried to get them to change our zip codes back to where we live and they will NOT do it unless we changed our phone numbers that we have had over 10 years. And that is down right stupid! I googled this and WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT THIS HAS BEEN DONE TO!
Desired outcome: Fix our zip codes back to where we live and have always lived, without changing our phone numbers!
Yes we have lived at the same address for 28 years and my husband's zip code for his phone is Florida and mine is a place called Germantown in Ohio. When I call they say you activated your phone there, I said we most certainly did no such thing! Then the customer service people whom are foreigners and difficult to understand say the only way we can change this is if you change your phone numbers and I tell them that's ridiculous! Not changing a phone number over something as simple as correcting our zip codes back to what they originally were! One customer service guy said well if you don't like it then change carriers... 😡 I said you know what, I am going to look into that! How they can change your zip code when they full well know our address and where we reside is beyond me and should not be allowed to happen!
Good luck to you!
I just noticed that they had my husbands phone being used with a California zip code and address we never lived at. Always have been an Arizona customer. My bill was different 9 times over the past 12 months for the same silver unlimited plan.
I accidentally wrote my reply to you in the comments... 🤦🏼♀️
Yeh but good luck to you, I have not been able to get them to change it back. Only if we change our phone numbers that we have had for over 10 years and I'm not going to do that. They can change our zip codes back without changing our phone numbers! I know they can!
Customer service horrible
Over the last 4 days I have called customer service 7 times. Each time they would tell me to try again later. Now my straight talk phone is locked up. my number that I wanted transferred from another carrier is blocked. So, I have no phone. I have asked for a new number. I am not able to do that either. Lastly, they call me back at 10 pm est. With a recording that their office was closed and to call back when it opened. This is totally unacceptable. I spent my hard-earned money on a straight talk phone then had to go back to the store to purchase a straight talk sims card even tho there was a sims card in the new phone.
Claimed loss: $235.00
Desired outcome: refund, I can not return the phone or sims card after it has been opened.
Straight Talk Wireless
After being a loyal customer for 10 years, I'm done. This last phone purchased October 15, 2023 is very disappointing. The tech team is just as disappointing. I called no less than 6 times and i still can't open pictures sent via text. They keep you on the phone troubleshooting then transfer the call and you troubleshoot the same mess all over again! I can drive two blocks from home and I have NO SERVICE! I have only four days to return this piece of junk and being the weekend, they wont receive it on time, so I lost my money. They lost a whole lot more than me though. Good riddance.
crappy phone sevice card
purchased ST phone sevice card Walmart store 2019 Uniontown Pa on going to use it was told it "was invalid #" walmart refused to rescan card their corporate customer care rep refused to
correct this 4 calls to ST
customer service([protected]) 4 Hrs via phone no help ripped off for 45$ just want account credited
[protected] card#[protected] trying to get a response for 2 months now
Claimed loss: 45$
Desired outcome: 45$ credited to account
Porting my number to another carrier
I have used StraightTalk wireless for over 4 years. Recently I tried to activate my new phone on their network and was told that I'd have to "go to Walmart and but a new SIM card" because they register the SIM cards with the IME of the phone and they are not transferable. I obtained a new servive from a different provider and attempted to PORT my number from StraightTalk to them using a PIN number that StraightTalk provided me. The port failed saying my billing ZIP code was wrong. It seems that StraightTalk was still using a ZIP code from my previous address from over 4 years ago even though I recently this year got a new SIM card and told them my new address. When I called to ask them to unlock my number so that it could be ported to my new provider they said that they would not issue a new PORT PIN for 24 hrs (pushing it to my next billing/renewal date). They verified my identity by texting my phone and my giving them my account PIN, but said it was their policy to not issue a new port pin after a certain number of port attempts by a new provider. I explained that it was their fault that the billing ZIP code was not update in their system and the guy I talked to said that it didn't matter and I would have to wait 24 hrs. I asked for a supervisor and the guy claimed that he was the supervisor and ffI would have to wait since there was no one to appeal his decision to. I told him that my wife still had her StraightTalk account and that I was [censored] enough to cancel her account too and he just hung up on me. DO NOT USE STRAIGHTTALK. Their customer service is the worst!
Claimed loss: 24 hours of not being able to activate my new phone and the likelihood that StraightTalk will bill me for another month of service because I won't be able to close my account until after my renewal date.
Desired outcome: I don't care about a refund or anything. StraightTalk provided good cellular service to me for over 4 years, but their customer service is the absolute worst.
Plan for phone
After purchasing a 41 dollar straight talk plan. straight talk took the money from my account and never activated my phone. after talking to 4 customer service Chinese salespeople that hung up on me several times because they could not verify my account. How nice 15-year-old phone that works great no problems at all and you can't verify my pin. well either can I. you took money from my account refused to refund it, so I had to Dispute it with my Bank to get my money back. Do not do Business with these crooks.
Customer service and billing departments
There representatives actions the way they treat us customer and the stress it puts on us and they take data from you when you have unlimited plan and they are very rude hang up on ya and whip out your services ect and the expenses that you have to pay out to try to get things back and the service is alway being interrupted ect this is considered mental anguish and theft
Desired outcome: Compensation for the money that is put out and for health concerns do to the stress that it on us customers that is considered mental anguish and theft
To transfer phone number to another phone.
I have tried transferring my number to another number to no avail. I call to be on the for 20+ minutes to have representative to drop my call to only call again and the same thing happen on 3 or more occasions. One rep asked me for the IMEI number and I was told that I needed to pay for another sim card for the new phone. I waited for several days to get card & now I am being told that that card will not work in the new phone & was told to go to Walmart to get another sim card. Also, I always get someone who speaks broken English and cannot understand them. I ask for someone else where I can communicate with, but never given me to another rep. I have been with Straight talk for 8+ years and I have a broken phone that I can't hear on to try to get my number transferred, to "NO AVAIL. Also, you don't have a rep in the store to help only a contractor is asking for $35 to help with the phone. This is crazy. What happen to the great customer service you once had?
Desired outcome: I want my number transferred to my new phone
Straight talk phones and service
Hello I am complaining about straight talk service. We had our last phones for 3 years. The phones worked perfectly until they started forcing updates on us. After 3 updates they hardly worked. We each got new phones recently. The phones worked good until once again they forced updates on us and now they are allready acting up. After 3 days they pushed updates on us. Now our phones are already glitching and going slow. We just got them. This is not right. We block the updates and they still come
Desired outcome: Phones that will work. They were supposed to be 5g
Transfer
Approximately 8 hours spent attempting to transfer service from Verizon to Straight Talk. No less than 16 representatives attempted to help. After the eighth attempt, the representatives began disconnecting the calls. The port to transfer the telephone number was successful. However; no text messages or phone calls can be made on the phone. Additionally, the phone cannot be transferred back to Verizon as it requires a text to be sent to the number in order to transfer it back. The phone number and the phone that was used for business is now useless.
Desired outcome: Make the phone work or transfer the original phone number back to Verizon.
Verizon "Win Back" and "Port" representative contacted a Straight Talk manager while I was at a Verizon brick and mortar location the following day. The Straight Talk manager told the Verizon representatives that there would be no resolution to the problem. Straight Talk would not provide a transfer pin to the Verizon port representative without verification. The Straight Talk representative who established the original request to transfer must have recorded an incorrect email address which rendered one of the three verification steps useless. They also instructed me to insert the incorrect sim card and assigned it to the phone. The Walmart kit comes with 2 sim cards. My kits sim cards were labeled "A" and "B" only. Asking for 2 frequently called numbers after 72 hours could not verify the account as the phone never worked. No call log on the phones sim card. Straight Talk has destroyed 7 years of carefully cultivated networking using my original number for business. They have a seriously flawed model and I would encourage anyone reading this to AVOID this company.
Straight talk card already redeemed! Scam?
I bought a $45 straight talk card and I tried to add the card using the automated texting number. It would not give me the option to ADD the $45 or plan. I had previously added the $35 plan so that was the only option it gave me besides “data add on” or “other” so I chose “other” and it gave me a link to go to the website to choose a different plan. I went to the website and the website wasn’t working so I called straight talk to talk to an agent and got a recording saying they were closed for updates. So I called the next day and was told my card had already been redeemed! I told her it had not been redeemed because I just scratched it the previous night and it never got added! The phone call got cut off so I called back and the new agent said the previous agent didn’t know what she was talking about and that my card was not activated correctly and told me to go to the store with my receipt to have Walmart re-scan it but Walmart said I’d get charged again if they did that and he said that it was on the receipt that my card got activated so I came home and tried to add it again via text and I got a text back saying the card was already redeemed! It has not been redeemed and I feel like I just got scammed! I’m including a photo of my receipt.
Desired outcome: I would like the service plan I paid for added to my phone
straight talk wireless
In October of last year I woke up to my phone not working after I had just paid for the three months service and so I called straight talk and they apologized and told me they were on it and so I was on the phone with them for 30 mins or so they advised me that my service was back on but told me I couldn't get my phone number back because it was under the Verizon network I advised them that I've had that phone number for five years and that I needed it back they told me that there wasn't anything they could do my compliant is how does a phone number that's still active become deactivate and unable to gain access to without the account holders permission
Desired outcome: to gain access to my phone number I've had that number for many years and I brought it to straight talk in 2020
nikki 520811
she was rude and was refusing to transfer me to anyone else even though we went through all of the things several of the rep. and tried everything. and was cutting me off when trying to explain what was wrong. she also said she was a supervisor. and she hung up on me. straight talk better get their reps some manors. i am very highly upset due to missing work.
Desired outcome: to be transferred to and not to be hung up on several times . someone to contact me asap or i will contact ceo
Straight talk rewards
Starting September 1, 2023, Straight Talk Rewards advertised the chance to win a free Motorola Chromebook on its Spin-the-Wheel Rewards game. I played the game on September 1, 2023, and the wheel stopped on the free Motorola Chromebook. It said I had won and a trumpet played. Sounds great, huh? Well, not really. I called customer service shortly afterward to inquire about shipping. I was transfered back and forth to a "higher department" over the next several days to find out when the laptop would ship. Finally, after 2 weeks of calling I was transferred to the corporate office. After speaking to them, they verified I had won the Chromebook, they were sorry for the delays, and the laptop would be shipped with 30 days. At the end of September the laptop still had not arrived, but 5,000 Rewards points were added to my account. I immediately called customer service to inquire what was going on. I was told they had run out of stock on the Chromebooks and had added 5,000 Rewards points to my account to compensate for not receiving the prize I won. I told the customer service representative that this was insufficient because the 5,000 rewards points were only worth $50.00, but the Chromebook was worth over $200.00. The values didn't match. Also, how could Straight Talk run out of stock on the first day of its 30 day game? The free Chromebook was shown as an available prize on the Wheel for the whole month! Straight Talk Rewards is nothing short of a scam! I will report this fraud to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Bureau.
Desired outcome: Either I want the Chromebook I won or an equivalent value of Rewards points.
Service and data issues
I have filed an FCC complaint because I have been hung up on by customer service, refused a supervisor, un-resloved issues that require you to need a second phone which is not possible for me because I can barely afford one, or you have to turn the phone off and back on and it never fixes the issue, and then file an FCC complaint for them to only send me a new Sim card (that costs 99 cents) and still doesn't fix the issue, I was promised a free month to compensate me for the trouble in which the FCC complaint only got me a week free and I still had data issues that whole week and never recieved my free month... only to be told that I need to buy a straight talk phone because I am on the byop and in the terms and conditions it says I may or may not get the service I paid for, so I asked "You're telling me that I am paying for the $55 unlimited talk, text, and data and because I am a bring your own phone plan that in your terms and conditions I may or may not recieve the data and service I am paying for?" to which the reply was "Yes"! I told the agent that "he sounded ridiculous because no one is paying to have a service that they may or may not get and you're not even going to compensate me the free month I was promised for all this trouble of being hung up on and refused to have my issues resolved and most importantly for not having the service I have paid for every month and not getting that full service every month and even the free week still had data issues and you've literally not resolved anything for me but to say it's terms and conditions and I need to buy a phone from you when I know people who bought your phones and are also not receiving the service they pay for!" All he said was, yet again, "well it is in the terms and conditions and it's your fault you're on the byop plan and you need to buy a straight talk phone to recieve the full services"! He refused to solve the issue and I will not be a customer of straight talk after this! I do however want my compensation! I've been with straight talk for 3 years and the first few months were excellent and then the data issues and service issues started and I think I have given them fair chance to solve these issues and still paid every month for full services that I did not recieve what I paid for! Unlimited should not be allowed to be used for the advertised services when there are restrictions, limitations, or issues that are not immediately made known! I paid for full services, I want what I paid for! I will not let this go, I am going to keep reporting this until something is done about it! I am sick and tired of paying for things and not receiving what I paid for, it's not fair, they're crooks and thieves and most importantly BOLD FACE LIARS! Is this not in the realm of false advertising or something illegal, in the realm of fraud of services? We're paying for full service and not receiving it and there's nothing ever done about it!
Desired outcome: I want compensation for paying for services that I did not fully recieve due to their deception and I want to be fairly compensated!
Tech support
8/26 and 8/28/23 I spoke with several different people at your company about my phone having no data, and an "x" by it.
We walked through a few things, and after nothing working, I was advised to wipe the phone and see if it corrects the problem. It did not.
In addition I could not restore my backup from google as it wants to send me a text to verify, which I can not get even if I am on wifi. I was also advised that if this did not work I would get a new phone free of charge. I even questioned it asking if it would be same make and model as my phone isn't made anymore, and was told yes.
I had then been advised by another rep to try and purchase a new SIM card - so I went and spent 35 on that. Talked to another agent while installing card, and it still did not work. I was told that phone would have to be replaced. I asked about free one and she said I wasn't eligible. I asked to have call escalated but agent informed me that they are not allowed to transfer calls outside of their department
I had my own unlocked from my spouse, same make and model, called again to have it switched to my phone number and all I got was it can't be done there is an error.
I wasted three days, had your company tell me to factory reset, which I never want to do, lost all my data and cannot recover any of it because I can't receive a text to log in. I wasted 35 on another sim card.
Please, make good for this and send me a free phone since your staff destroyed mine and offered no kind of advice except buy a new phone.
Very unprofessional and unaccommodating to a long-term customer. Sadly, now I need to go purchase a phone with a different company who will give the support needed and not break my phone.
Desired outcome: I want a new free phone.
no service for 3 weeks of the month
On August 17,2023, I purchased a plan with unlimited talk, text and data with 10 G hotspot. While activating phone , I was told i only had unlimited calls and text and limited data with no hotspot. i told customer service that i could not make a call... she tried a few things to fix the issue, that didn't work. After over an hour on the phone, the call was dropped. After several attempts to talk to live support, i was told i would receive a call the next morning,,, that never happened.
then, text and data went out. So, to make a long story short, I went over three weeks without service that i paid for. After calling again, i was told i would have to buy another sim card when i asked for three weeks to be added to my plan. and that the service i paid for will be what i get. This is beyond annoying.. I am prepared to turn this over to my attorney if this issue is not resolved
Desired outcome: to receive the plan i paid for and 3 weeks added to plan
