On Friday November 11 2020 my son, nephew and his friend went to visit our local Spencer's in El
Centro CA. They rode their bikes there and always carry backpacks with their drinks and belongings. While at the store a person who identified herself as the store manager approached them and asked if they were stealing. Because they looked "suspicious" because of their backpacks.
I called the store asking for the store manager and the person on the phone stated it was she I asked for her name and she mentioned it is mariana. I asked about the incident and at this time she did mention she did approach the 3 boys because they looked suspicious with backpacks on. She also stated that the 2 "shorter ones" offered to have their backpacks checked but the "taller" was being suspicious hiding behind the other 2. I asked so did you see them stealing. She said no but after I reviewed the cameras I saw the "taller one" taking the item. I repeated what she said so she could
Confirm I heard correctly. And she said yes he had stole and he was on video. The parent of the child went to ask the manager about the stealing situation and now she is saying she never said he stole anything. This is extremely unprofessional and she should not be accusing kids of stealing. These 3 boys are customers and purchased items that day. She also grabbed one of the boys and shoved him out. Her treatment towards customers is horrible! This boys was accused of being a thief by a representative of this store. Unacceptable!
