Commentary on Scottish football
I watch and listen to most football on SKY A HUGE FOOTBALL FAN AND A GLASGOW RANGERS SUPPORTER. Premiership, championship in England and Scotland. I ll stick to a specific game although it's fairly typical of comments jibes and negativity shown by your commentators towards RANGERS in general. HIBS V RANGERS 27 th Jan 2021. One of two red card queries happened first half 17 th minute, (MORELOS) throughout the rest of the game Mr Walker and Mr Crocker just would not let go of the fact that Morelos was still on the park. Is it because MORELOS is not Scottish, or is South American or the team he plays for?. What is the angle here..? Almost every Rangers game no matter opposition Celtic are mentioned! So unbalanced and in my opinion unprofessional and petty. I don't want to watch Rangers play and hear constantly about Celtic
In stark contrast the mellow mild understated quality of the commentary in the English games is there for all to see. Look, no favours just a level playing field.
Golf
Why are you still showing support for BLM (Black Lives Matter) on the Sky golf leader board for both the PGA and European tours?
You are not keeping politics out of sport by showing support for this organisation.
You should also be aware of their aims and objectives and after not so careful consideration realize that you should be distancing your company from any association with them.
Desired outcome: That it's removed please so I can start watching golf again.
Well said, Sauce1960
Sky football commentator Martin Tyler
I take exception to the comments made today near the end of the Fulham v Chelsea game . He was praising the fact that a bunch of overpaid premiership footballers had soldiered on during the pandemic in order to play despite social distancing and other regulations they had to adhere to ( not always) . He made them out to be heroes which they are not. As an afterthought he mumbled something about back room staff and the NHS. These comments were an insult to the frontline NHS staff risking their lives daily in order to try and get this pandemic under control.
To mention the ‘ hardships of footballers in such a privileged position and thanking them for their efforts is unacceptable. Footballers we can do without- the NHS we can't and to them we should all be truly thankful.
Martin Tyler you should be ashamed of those comments.
Desired outcome: A memo to Martin Tyler to remind him to think about insensitive comparisons between Premiership footballers and frontline NHS staff. An acknowledgement to myself that this email has been taken seriously by Sky sports football.
Football
I watch football all the while, I pay a lot of money to watch record and catch up, Sky Sports presenters are always going on about the scores earlier which makes my recordings not worth watching. Today, watched West Bromwich Albion vs Wolves, West Ham vs Burnley but recorded Leeds vs Brighton on Sky, now watching Fulham vs Chelsea. The commentators have mentioned the score of the Leeds game 3 times.
Thanks very Much
And you are always doing it which means I need to watch my Sky programs with no sound
Desired outcome: Tell them to not to talk about other scores earlier
Skysports has become political
Why is it that sky has decided to bring politics into sport? At every opportunity they are advertising BLM whic IS a political movement against police brutality in the US, it has nothing to do with the U.K. and has nothing to do with sport. When I turn on a sky sports channel I expect to see sport, not politics in sport. It is past media manipulation and is more like brainwashing. I am against racism 100%. They also chastise sportsmen who do not take the knee as though they are racist, surely that's there decision if they don't take the knee and they shouldn't be picked out on national tv, especially when taking the knee is 100% a political statement and once again nothing to do with sport. When I watch sport on any other channel that's not sky they don't mention BLM, maybe end racism in sport but nothing political.
Desired outcome: A change to there political agenda
Football Commentator
Here we are again. Monday football Southampton against Liverpool. As Southampton Supporters we have to endure the bias comments ( as always) from the two Commentators. They should be neutral, but no. All the pre match Programm all about the " big" Team. Shame on Sky Sport again. Complaint many times, as have lots oft Fans, but nothing changes. Watching Christmas on Amazon was a great as Commentary was great and neutral. Sky could learn alot. And if Amazon gets more games and we can go back to Stadiums, Sky will loose alot oft Southampton Supporters. We are fed up.
Desired outcome: Change attitude of Commentators
Exactly what we have to put up with in Scotland - sky only care about rangers and Celtic - we have an ex rangers manager and player co commentating on rangers games, embarrassing the way he creams himself every time the score - its a shambles
Presenter
Listening to sky sports football, brilliant except for Paul Ince saying "you know" so many times! Nice guy but so annoying.
Desired outcome: Drop the “you know” please
Commentaries on football matches
It is very difficult to understand why Sky have commentators who are so biased in favour of some teams. As a Newcastle fan I am, unfortunately, used to hearing biased commentators and surely this shouldn't be the case. The people in the studio at halftime and after the game are there to "analyse" and point out positive and negative things in the game. It would be much better for all football fans if those commentating on the game as it is played could do so in a neutral fashion - after all there are people from the "unfashionable" teams who are paying to watch these games too. Today (3rd January) they were actually being sarcastic towards the Newcastle players which was a really low point in commentating history
Desired outcome: Unbiased commentating on Sky
Comments made in today's sky sports news programme
The reference made by a commentator about a woman about to go into Labour as 'ready to drop ' is deeply disrespectful. Cows drop their young. This commentator should be admonished and should apologise on air for this comment. To link women with cows shows a lack of understanding of equality and diversity in using language which may have not been intentionally insulting, but nevertheless falls into this category. To pass this off as humour is the thin end of the wedge, and needs to be appropriately addressed.
World championship darts 2021
Wayne Mardle and John Park... I'm paying £40 a month to listen to two idiots who just state the obvious and worse still... just don't take a moment to draw breath! Where do you get these people? In what universe are they entertaining or informative? Come on sky, I thought the golf commentary was bad but this is worse. Perhaps your commentators are all aimed at Sun readers.
Desired outcome: The two get sacked
Biased commentary
Your commentator's are so biased. I am so fed up of your biased commentary. Your commentary of Watford Vs Norwich could not have been more biased. Such a clear a penalty and your commentators saying he played the ball. Absolute bull, if you play the man, and he clearly did, irrelevant if he played the ball, its a foul. its so biased I am now cancelling my my sky sky sports.
Who ate all the pies kris boyd
Absolute disgusting behaviour from kris boyd towards celtic football club and it's supporters tonight. Supposedly unbiased sports channel letting this bias presenter constantly putting celtic football club down is a disgrace. Whilst commenting on a football game that had nothing to even do with celtic football club is a disgrace. This guy is a joke and a disgrace. Very unhappy paying for this service think bt sport maybe getting a call
I am writing to you regarding the totally obvious and blatantly clear anti-Celtic Football Club bias from Sky Sports football "pundit" Kris Boyd. I totally understand that having played for Rangers on two separate occasions he will have favour towards them. This is completely understandable but there is absolutely no reason for him to consistently make negative comments about Celtic, be it regarding something that happened during a match, or with negative stats. He also somehow manages to make these comments about Celtic when they weren't even playing in some of the games he is being a pundit on, but still manages to drag his anti-Celtic views into discussions. I completely understand that other pundits are pro-Celtic, like ex-Celtic player John Hartson, but he most certainly does not use his position to slaughter Rangers, or any other club for that matter. I know that having spoken to other Sky Sports viewers, who, by the way are not all Celtic fans, are also angered by Kris Boyd's biased & bigoted pro-Rangers, anti-any other teams views. We feel that he has been given the biggest platform there can possibly be to spout his views. I have been a Sky subscription viewer since it started and I pay a lot of money every month, but I am genuinely seriously considering ditching Sky simply because I don't feel I should have to pay all that money to have an anti-Celtic bigot slate the football club I love and pay for the privilege. Bill Barry, Dundee.
A sky sports pundit
Hello,
I'm looking to lodge an official complaint regarding an incident tonight (Thursday 10th December) a member of staff on sky sports news, a Mr Kris Boyd.
Mr Boyd was doing a running commentary of the Lech Poznań v Rangers game and at the end of the game he summarised. As he was summarising he was clearly thinking about his final sentence as the smirk grew bigger and bigger on his face. He then proceeded to hand off to Mr Andrew Walker and followed his passover with the comment "who has made more statements than they have had victories in the last 2 months" referring to Celtic Football Club.
As Sky Sports pundits should understand is that football is a massive thing in some people's lives and is the only thing they have that keeps them happy. The time that Celtic football club are going through at the moment has a massive effect on fans mental health and Mr Boyd of all people, being an ambassador of mental health, should not be making a deliberate mockery of a football club and their current form live on TV knowing the effect it has on some fans. Never mind smiling and almost laughing whilst doing it.
To conclude, I feel the only acceptable solution to this would be for Mr Boyd to make a public apology for his behaviour as a pundit on Sky Sports and acknowledge that making a mockery of the situation was wrong.
I look forward to your response.
Regards
I totally agree, Kris Byod us a sectarian bigot who showed his despise for Glasgow Crltic, Sky Sports i urge you to act and remove this person from your employment. I'm sure more complaints will follow.
The commentator for Bristol City v Blackburn
In a year when COVID-19 has reduced season ticket holders to watching games on tv, I find it particularly frustrating to accept that SKY employ a commentator who is clearly a Blackburn fan. I pay a lot of money to enjoy the benefits of sky, but tonight I have been reduced to muting the volume as it is not a pleasant experience to hear some ‘has been' thinking he can influence people to support Blackburn!
I like a bit of banter (ie. Phil Neville - Man U v Carragher - Liverpool), but now I am praying for City to beat Blackburn just to shut the commentator up. He has just been asked for Man Of the March and I wonder what team that will come from!
You loyal Sky subscriber!
Terry
Sky sports
Congratulations on ruining your entire service. It's dreadfully woke, patronising, and depressing to it's very core.
People watch sport to escape the problems in the world and heir lives, especially right now, and you just ram your agenda down everyone's throats.
Who made. you guys the moral compass of the U. K?
What makes you think we all want to talk about race relentlessly?
Your becoming a political organisation rather than a sports channel. This will be reflected in your drop in subscriptions come renewal time for lots of us.
Your product is such a miserable and infuriating watch, so congratulations.
And nice one for ramming your support for a Marxist, racist, dangerous, police hating political group down our throats.
I hope sky lose everything and the rights go to someone who wants to bring the nation football, as opposed to a far left load of tripe.
Dale Attkinson
Well said Dale, I m glad it’s not just me that can see this media brainwashing on a huge scale. BLM is 100% political movement against police brutality in the US and has no place in the U.K. or sport. While I stand against all racism, saying black people lives matter more than any others is arrogant at best and racist itself at worst. Like you said in our current situation we turn to sports to escape what’s going on only to be subjected to constant media manipulation
Football commentators.
How much longer are we going to have to endure the absolutely awful commentaries and opinions of Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. None of them were particularly great players, I pay quite a bit for my sports package, which I love, but why should my money go to these three clueless has beens. I shudder to think what they get paid, they are not required on commentary or anything else.
Sky sports news
Since when was it that people weren't allowed to have an opinion on situations. If millwall fans want to boo they have the civil right to. If sky sports supports all lives matter instead of blm then there wouldn't be a situation... Bbc and sky sports are so left wing it's unreal. Its a joke. Im a chelsea fan and like other clubs if your not spurs or liverpool or united your not cared about.
People need to realise that this country is full of all races and the fact with the ferdinand situation john terry was found not guilty in my opinion he is just using this platform to try and get a bit of fame because when he was playing he was shocking.
Well said!
Football commentary
I wish to thank you for your recent decision to omit Jamie Carragher from live reportage & to restrict his Liverpool bias to pre-match, interval and post match ramblings. Thank you...as this gives me the chance to channel hop or put the sound down. My grievance is on the past use of Alan Smith on the last three Southampton games...where should you review the commentary on Newcastle...then Wolves and unfortunately Man Utd was where his constant "woe be to the side in front by a solitary goal"...renders his obvious disregard to events ACTUALLY HAPPENING on the pitch. Could be's, May be's and invention of possible scenarios which might impact are of no use...except again sensationalism. What ever happened to good old delivery of the game unfolding? It seems stats delivered with cheesy links & pun on Pundit is the new grey on sky sports. Please deliver the match not the bias and opinions! We support our teams..obviously! I am happy to say I have skysports, BT Sport's and Amazon Prime. Along with the BBC... I have watch coverage in these covid times and don't know anyone who rates SkySports anymore. You've lost direction. Get some less opinionated character's & genuinely informative footballers to enhance the coverage ... Not SHOWBOAT... now thier service to game has expired. WAKE UP...Others providers have taken on this mantel.
Monday night football
I was watching Monday night football West Ham v Aston Villa. Whilst I admire the work of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith as commentators with great experience, I was shocked and dismayed that they refused to criticise Jack Greakish for blatant cheating when throwing himself to the ground after a foul by Fornals in the 52 minute. Unfortunately this another example of a fashionable English player not being criticised for cheating when a less popular or foreign player would have been treated differently.
Masters 2020 coverage
so annoyed with the coverage of this years masters seems that they only cover the leaders and those close to them what about all the other players. its getting boring boring boring, nice to see the leaders but all the other players also need some air time. I have backed certain golfers on sky bet and have not even seen them on tv. its a disgrace.
Shaun Gallagher.
Can we actually see some golf please...other than a Daschund on a sofa and dreary Dustin lumbering his way round the course!
At least the BBC used to have variety and show the rest of the field
It's pretty dismal for the money you charge sadly!
Absolutely spot on yes! Too many ad breaks and no coverage of anyone else other than Dustin Johnson.
Really really disappointed and will be cancelling!
