Shoppers Drug Mart review: Incident involving Assistant Manager

Date: Wednesday, June 7 approximately 7:20pm.

Location: 1020 Kennedy Cir, Milton, ON L9T 5S4

I dropped my daughter off at Shoppers Drug Mart and she ran in to get a few things. She went through Self Checkout and proceeded out the door and the door alarm buzzed. A woman immediately told her to come back in the store. She grabbed my daughter's bag and rifled through it. Did not even ask her for her proof of purchase receipt until after she went through the bag.

My daughter gave her the receipt and the woman stated it must be the brow liner by The brand Essence that was the culprit. My daughter came back to the car mortified and I was too angry at what happened to go in and argue with the lady who did it so I went he and called their store. I reported it to the pharmacist who answered and she put me through to a manager who turned out to be the lady who actually did it. Her name was Danielle. I told her that the way she handled things with daughter was unacceptable and I would be contacting head office to complain. I said there should be a sign at the Essence makeup display saying fo not self checkout these products and instruct people to cashiers to ensure it is properly disarmed so as not to set off the alarm and humiliate customers. She offered no apology for her actions. Both my daughter and I will not be returning to that store ever again. Today I also lodged a complaint with head office of shoppers.
