Shoppers Drug Mart issue processing my payment

The incident took place on November 9th 2019 at 9:00pm. I was in shoppers drug mart on Concession street, in Hamilton, ON, where I was trying to make a purchase using my gift card but unfortunately the computer was unable to read my card for some reason. The cashier that was assisting me said she is unable to process the payment but if I could go to the cosmetic counter, to make the purchase, where her manager could help me. When I went over the same issue happen and my card was not being read for some reason. I asked her if she was able to input the card manually? she replied she doesn't know how to do that so I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I then asked so what am I to do now and she asked if I can come back tomorrow morning ? I answered "no" paid for my items with cash and left the store. I then called customer service and told them situation, they told me I shouldn't have left the store that instead I should have called them if I had an issue and they could've resolved it or walked them through the process. I returned to the store, informed her I spoke with customer service and how they told me they can walk her thru the process over the phone, and would I be able to return my purchased items and repurchase them using my gift card? She then told me she doesn't have time that she has to close off the cash and she has to do shift change. This is a store that is open 24hrs. I left baffled, frustrated and unhappy.
I feel I should be reimbursed for the purchase I had to make out of pocket, when I had a preloaded gift card that I was unable to use at my time of purchase. I have my receipt

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

Went to pick up my inhalers. Was told I couldn't get my normal two they were supposed to call my doctor they never did. Then she tried to explain to me I couldn't get two of them but never really offered the single one that was still on file which I knew was still available. She began to very loudly explain to me she couldn't fill my prescription. I do not have to get two I only do as it is cheaper. While she was explaining this loudly there were at least five other people in line which while she managed to not yell out any of my info it made me look like I was some sort of addict that needed a fix. Again it is an inhaler. She eventually did fill the one grudgingly I maintained my cool through her loosing hers. I was so embarrassed I felt I had to explain to the people in line I was only in need of an inhaler. Not opioids or something. I was very embarrassed. I will go back to the store to get the name of the employee as I believe someone needs to talk to her. Another note is that the costumer infront of me seemed to get treated very well and that the staff member seemed very happy. But as soon as she got to me her demeanour completely changed. I do not know this women

Shoppers Drug Mart flu shot by appointment only at shoppers drug mart.

Went today for a Flu shot (Tuesday). Told to come back Saturday? Store empty, no customers around the pharmacy?.
Walked down the strip mall to Safeway and got the shot in 5 minutes. I understand busy when busy...but store was empty. 4 staff behind the counter at pharmacy. Thx to Safeway for respecting that my time is valuable too. Shoppers drug mart needs to post a sign stating flu shots by appt only.

Shoppers Drug Mart store opens when the pharmacist decides to show up for work.

Don't bother checking online when a Shoppers Drug Mart opens. The staff might be onsite ready to open, but they don't open until the pharmacist arrives - even if you don't require anything from the pharmacy. Shoppers DRUG Mart. And yet the MVP of the 1077 North Service Road location in Mississauga will not respect your time. Most employees at retail chains need to be at their location before the posted time for opening to prepare the store. If they haven't arrived by 8:10am then you can't just shrug and blame it on the rain. Perhaps the first snowfall or after a snowstorm. But last time I checked, rain is regular and can be accounted for.

I'll be going to Walmart the next time I need something at 8am in the morning.

Legally, as shoppers is classified as a pharmacy (whereas walmart is not), it is ILLEGAL for staff to let you in to a shoppers store without a pharmacist on-site. Have you never been late getting to work? Grow up.

Shoppers Drug Mart bilingual signage

I don't mind bilingual signage in Ontario, however when they have Ontario Shoppers
Drug Mart signs made up in Quebec, the Quebec regulation dictates that French on top and English to be 1/4 size lettering below.
The English patron must ask the Pharmacist to translate the french because they can barely read smaller English printing.
Even Jean Coutu in Hawkesbury, whose headquarters is in Varennes (Québec) J3X 0E1
has their French and English lettering the same size. Maybe the English in Hawkesbury Ontario should go with Jean Coutu.

This happens very often. This Shoppers Drug Mart (Flyer) ever week advertizes
ie. eggs $1.88 doz. 2 days only (Saturday-Sunday). I used to go Sunday afternoon for the eggs and they were always out. So for the past few weeks I have gone Saturday afternoons and again they say that they are out.
What a waste of our time and travel cost. I planned on buying other items but when I and other patrons find that this flase advertising happens again, we storm out to Walmart etc. to do our shopping.
Please cease the egg $1.88 ads if you can't produce.

Shoppers Drug Mart prescription service and cleanliness of the store

I phoned in a prescription yesterday and was told to pick up today after 12:00. I arrived at 12:30 to pick up and was informed that it was waiting for pharmacist to review. I could see 3 stacks of medications waiting for them to review. I sat down and waited 20 minutes. The young lady at the pick up desk apologized that she could not get to me sooner as people kept lining up for pick up- which satisfied me at the time. Maybe a little bit of training so that she can ask people to wait a moment while she deals with a previous customers so that she does not have to apologize. I am sorry I did not get her name as her tag was backwards. This is the 3rd time I have gone in in the last month to pick up medications and have had to wait until the person in front of me's medications were dealt with - the pharmacist had to review. Also the floor in the store was filthy. At the drop off counter there were dust strips - yes strips 6 inches long waiting to be swept up. The floor was also waiting to be washed as it had drip stains on it. We have had 5 days of dry weather so it was not because of rain that the floor was dirty. I will still go to Shoppers but not this location. I have never had these problems at the Blanshard 24hr location so will go there from now on. I only wanted your company to know of the situation so that it can be addressed. Thank you Anne Marie

Shoppers Drug Mart Revlon, speed buff, nail buffer

October 31st I purchased two of the above product. I opened one and tried to use it on my nail. It claims that the purple side evens out nails, blue side buffs and sand mist grains remove stains and ridges. There are absolutely no grains and it is just like a piece of foam and totally usless to do anything with nails..
I had opened the one, tried to tell the associate that is was no good, but due to the fact that it had been opened, could do nothing about it. I did get a refund for the one that I had not opened.
I feel that I should have had a refund for both as they are NO GOOD!

Shoppers Drug Mart Overpriced product / rip off

Hi

I purchased "neocitran extra strength cold & sinus night apple cinnamon" from shoppers drug mart located at the above address and I paid 14.46+ 1.88 (hst)= $ 16.37

I had no choice but to buy and consume the above product as I was having a very hard time due to cold and bodyache on oct 31, 2019.

After visitng the other stores such as metro, no frills and walmart, I realized that they all sell the above product at $ 9.97.

I feel terrible that I was ripped off and been taken advantage of by shoppers drug mart (6205 bathurst st. North york, on)

Now I learned how rich getting richers in canada and poor getting poorer.
The rich getting richer by ripping off the middle class who work so hard for hours and hours... I cannot imagine how much money shoppers drug mart is making by ripping off and the taking advantage of people who are physically sick or need to buy certain over the counter products.

I want shoppers drug mart to pay me back the difference in price. I just want justice to be served even if it is $5 difference.

Thank you

Shoppers Drug Mart encouraged to use self checkout

I am a senior citizen and was shopping in the chatham ontario Queen street shoppers drug mart today and when I went to the checkout to pay for my goods I was asked, "are you paying with debit or credit?" I answered ‘Debit'. The cashier then advised me that I had to follow her to the self-checkout. I asked her why? She stated that employees are being advised to encourage customers to use the self checkout, it was part of her job. I stated that I prefer to use a cashier rather than a self checkout . She said, if you absolutely refuse to use the self check-out then she will take me at the regular check-out. I felt so bad for her, I let her put me through the self checkout because there were other customers in line at the cashier checkout and no other employees around and I did not want to cause a scene or make others wait because I was disputing this ‘new practice'. I feel that encouraging people to do something that they do Not wish to do is wrong. If this happens to me again, I will be changing my drug store to Rexall or another drug store. I refuse to do self checkout and putting a human being out of work and miss the joy of talking to another human while I end my shopping day.

Shoppers Drug Mart life brand wrist brace

I purchased a wrist brace about a month ago, due to symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.

I was wearing it for 8 hours a day about 3 times a week. It was holding together fine, for about 3 days, then the velcro stopped holding.

The velcro is not dirty or have anything on it to prevent it from holding properly.

I will be in the processing of doing my daily work tasks and it will come undone.

This is a very unsatisfactory product.

I would like to speak with someone about resolving this issue with a very unsatisfactory product produced and sold in your stores.

You can reach me at [protected]@gmail.com

Shoppers Drug Mart shopping bags

The photos speaks for itself. 100% pure discrimination. "Women's health first" - Imagine a shopping bag stating "White people's health first". This is no different. ALL discrimination is wrong, in every form. How is a large corporation allowed to get away with this blatant discrimination against men? I, my husband and all of our friends and family are now boycotting this brand. Just like the millions did with Gillette products.

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

as much as profanity is not desired, my belief is that the girl at the kingsway location(murray st) is correct, when in canada english is our language, and to speak any other in a business setting where canadians are the customers is unsettling and rude on the service representatives part, obviously suffering the wrath of profanity
which i construe as a person upset, maybe shopper's should apologize as she was not in the wrong

Shoppers Drug Mart watch

I purchased a watch on 10-27-19 and could not try it on in the store so I took it home and tried it on. It was too small. I took it back to the store on 10-28-19 in the morning and was told that the company policy is not to accept returns which I can understand on cosmetics and such but this is a watch. Also, the sign says come in and get a flu shot it does not say only when there are 2 pharmacists on duty. It should at least say the hours.

Shoppers Drug Mart gift card service department

I called customer service on september 4th to resolve a problem that was caused by an employee at shoppers who failed to activate the two lowes gift cards that my father bought for me as a house warming gift for buying my first home. On september 4th I spoke with Francine K who emailed the steps I had to follow to get my lowes gift cards activate properly. On September 4 I completed all the steps as i was told..
No one had contacted me for a while so i emailed again on september 16th, again no one replied to me. On september 24th i called back again, spoke to someone else who also agreed that this was unacceptable. They informed me my case had been approved and that my two lowes gift cards would be activated on the 25th of september i received an email from Christine on the 25th of september that stated that shoppers would give me two $100 "shoppers gift cards" to hopefully resolve my issue.. And this was my reply to her on september 25th
Honestly I don't really think that's fair, so I don't want to do that.. The gift cards were a gift for home improvement(Lowe's-tools-supplies) cause we just bought our first house. I would also like to bring to your attention my complete and utter embarrassment having both of the cards decline standing inline with a cart of 2x4s and tools then having my grandma have to put the $189 on her visa and wait two weeks for me to get payed to refund her out of my pocket because this issue was not resolved when I first called.
I called on september 4th about the problem, I was given a case number. I emailed the photos I was told to email that same day.. No one responded for a few days, so I emailed and again no responded, I called multiple times throughout three weeks, the phone would pick up off the hold music and hang up until september 25th I finally got to speak to someone who then told me it had been approved and that I would either have my lowes gift cards activated or be sent new lowes gift cards.
I also think its unfair that im being offered replacement cards that can only be spent at "shoppers" stores and that I have had to wait this long for the improperly activated gift cards that are due to your staffs accident.. I don't buy anything from shoppers because its to expensive, I buy the majority of my food and essentials from dollar stores, alot are the same brands for a fraction of shoppers prices.

I would like a cash refund so I can spend the money on what it was intended for Or I would like minum $300 to of set the cost to purchase stuff at shoppers versus other store's.
Thank you
Looking forward to a quick response to resolve this issue.

It has been over a month since I emailed and no one has returned my email, and again when i'v called two times i'v gotten through and explained my situation and then they put me on hold and it hangs up.

My case number is
Case Number: [protected]

Please contact me asap to resolve this issue.

Shoppers Drug Mart canada post kiosk

I had a postal box cancelled after renting the unit for 3 years. It was a service address for my company and listed on all my documentation.

During that 3 years my box was rented out from under me to another individual and when questioned the manager had no explanation. Upon filing a trouble ticket with Canada Post the box was rekeyed and returned to me. Feeling that the problem was solved Shortly there after many strange things began happening. Letters were stored behind the counter and mail addressed to me were returned labelled as "wrong address"

I believe the double renting of the box was never rectified and its impossible to know how much mail was lost or returned which I believe is an offense, given the Kiosk is
regulated by Canada Post and ran through the Shoppers Drugmart.

When questioned the manager told me that Canada Post had cancelled the service. When I spoke with a representative of canada post they informed me that no one could cancel the service without a reason and the only reason for cancellation would be illegal activity.

There are way too many problems to think that this is a very problematic location and operating far beyond the limits the post office allows.

The Store manager would not take my call. (Proprietor) and the assistant store manager offered up no help what so ever.

Shoppers Drug Mart no refund for prescription that was mistakenly unscheduled, 500. dollars.

on oct.23/19 we went to the shoppers drugmart in sydney, b.c. to pick up a prescription for my wife Patricia, when it came time to pay, the pharmacy receipt was for 500. dollars, my wife was somewhat stunned but paid for it anyway, thinking she could call pharmacare later and they would help her out with this problem. When she found out she was not scheduled for a refill yet she was upset with herself, so that is the reason she was charged so much. Patricia thought she could return it, unopened and she would be refunded until it was the scheduled time to receive it, put it aside for her. the pharmacy said this was not policy and she would be stuck with a 500. bill that was put on credit. patricia is even more upset with herself, we are retired and on a fixed income, we do not have any coverage for pharmaceuticals other than pharmacare, she knows she should have checked more carefully, but she has been under a lot of stress lately, her mum died this passed year, and she has a lot on her mind. this is a new pharmacy for us and the one we use to deal with would alert us if we were not scheduled for the prescription yet, I thought that was good policy, it would protect consumer and dispensary. this did not happen at this particular drugmart pharmacy. is there no way to help her out on this costly mistake? much regards, patricia's husband rik maccaull. our address-706 Charter Rd. Mayne Island, B.C., V0N 2J1 Canada. [protected].

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy service - dangerous

Be aware

Be aware! My wife got prescription for hormonal treatment. We went to shoppers drug mart pharmacy at dundas rd/clayhill rd.in mississauga. The pharmacy dispensed wrong and dengarous drug. Instead of hormonal drug they gave my wife prozac! Likely before taking it my wife checked the name of the prescription (she had it before) and alerted me. We went back to the pharmacy to verify and they admitted that it was wrong drug. It is not the first time that particular pharmacy makes mistakes or can't read the prescription correctly, not mentioning verifying it with a doctor!
Do they care that they can kill someone one day!

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

I'm sickened at what myself and a couple of other shoppers witnessed as the Shoppers Drug Mart on Eramosa. An employee was completely rude and disrespectful to a customer who clearly has special needs. The gentleman had been at the post office area and had folded down boxes and placed them neatly on the counter. He had brown paper in his hand and had been looking for a place to put it. After looking for a couple of minutes he went to leave. The employee who had been hovering immediately engaged with him and told him he is not to leave his garbage behind, take it home, and was very disrespectful in his tone and words used. The gentleman tried to explain that another employee always helps him and put the cardboard in a bin. He was cut off several times trying to explain this. He told the employee he would take it home and he was told leave it. The employee took the cardboard and walked to the back. The gentleman stood there looking in the back windows and waiting, just looking. When the employee came back out he told him he could leave and the man did. Another women and I had asked if he was okay between the interaction and again when he left but he was clearly frazzled about what he may have done. We explained to the employee how he came across to the man. His excuse was he does this all the time and leaves his garbage everywhere. He had no clue he may have a special needs. If he encounters this man several times he would clearly know his condition. He then went in the back and laughed with the other 2 employees that were back with him. This man left the area neat and was used to another employee helping him with the empty boxes. I'm not saying he should or should not leave his empty garbage behind, the issue is how an employee feels he can speak to anyone the way he did and then laugh about it. He belittled this man and should not be in customer service if he thinks this is okay. Maybe I'm just overreacting, I just feel that anyone no matter the reason should be spoken to with respect and dignity, the situation could have been handled much better.

After my conversation with Ken the store manager, he told me information about the Gentleman named Randy and how he went into the store to ask which razor to use to shave his "balls" the managers exact words. He told me this employee Dan had been working for 5 years there and had no business talking to him and he would speak to him about how to speak to customers. I am appalled that the manager felt it okay to tell me about a past issue with Randy the customer and personal information.

Please let me know that this will be addressed.

Thank you

Shoppers Drug Mart life brand warm mist humidifier

Purchased this product four days ago...This is such a poor product. It doesn't even give off any steam. The packaging states it's supposed to work for 14 hours yet it only really works for about 4 before having to refill it. Once it empties all you can smell is burning, had to stop using for fear of an electrical fire. Very disappointed in this product, HIGHLY would NOT recommend to anyone, I would warn people against this product.
