I care for an individual who is receiving dialysis 3 to 4 times a week. His nephew is in the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation in San Antonio. When granted a visit at my home the nephew stole from his dying uncle. I called the Salvation Army who ignored numerous calls and emails, two of which was Richard McFarland who runs the site but is never there or available. John Branscum his superior was just as rude and only replied through a third party that residents a protected by HIPPA! I finally spoke to a Brett Cauliff in Georgia and addressed our concern that they planned on graduating a thief who is clearly not rehabilitated. It was not a major concern he stole from a dying man. This program prides itself in bring families closer together. False! I have discovered they are nothing more than unqualified service men and women with little to no knowledge of drug addiction and narcissistic behaviors. They put more focus on the extensive free labor they are receiving than actual rehabilitation while rewarding these addicts with 6 to 10 pm street time off premises Monday through Friday. All day street time Saturdays and All day street time on Sunday after church end at 10:30 am. Keep in mind their facility sits in the heart of the homeless and addicted hub and puts any recovering addict at risk of relapse with extensive free time. There are only classes from 4 to 6 pm Monday through Friday. Yet this is called an in-patient program? Are they stocking their stores with the stolen items they use the residence to retrieve? Yet it is a Christian organization? This speaks volumes for Christianity. I can only say I am happy they chose to run this programs reputation to the ground with their incompetence and lack of compassion and not our military.Try ing to reach the Commissioner is impossible despite the fact he too volunteers. This organization should bow their heads in shame that they ALLOWED an addict to steal from a dying relative and condone it with complete complicity! Uncaring of the actual community affected. More focused on head counts and handing out sham certificates that violates every meaning of in-patient rehab. This program is designed more for those who are not really serious about getting off drugs.
Recommendation: Choose another facility that has more structure and does not permit running the streets. Especially if court ordered rehabilitation is required!
I posted a review but my client that is on dialysis had items stolen by a resident in the San Antonio Salvation Army ARC. We called and emailed to no avail. This individual is court ordered to in patient yet the Salvation Army allow everyday outings for 4 hours and all day on weekends to steal from loved ones. When finally in touch with a Brett Cauliff he swept the concern under their thick carpets. This organization only enhances whaty many already believe about Christianity. They use HIPPA to do nothing causing a police report to be filed by the family of a drug addict and felon they are protecting. They have shown no compassion for the dying victim. They allowed this individual to steal, store at their facility and resell. This is a horrible, heartless group of charlatans. Thank you for committing to do the most good and bring families closer together! Do they even know how to?
