Absolutely the worst. When I have gone there in the last 6 months, EVERY TIME there is a pricing error.
I stopped going there 2-3 months ago, because of the absolutely atrocious behavior of their girl putting groceries in my vehicle. She didn't bag them at all, when I asked, she reached into the crate they bring groceries out in, and said, WELL Here's the bags, do you want to bag them?! Unbelievable. And she was literally whipping 5 lb packages of chicken into the back of my pickup, AFTER I told her to please stack them all in the corner because they weren't bagged, and showed her exactly where and how so I could strap them in. She literally started throwing them with force all over the back of the truck. I should have gone to get a manager then and there, but I called when I got home, he said Yes, they do still bag groceries and was falling over himself apologetic and said next time I went to their store he would have a gift card waiting at customer service with my name on it.
Fast forward two months later. I didn't go back at all because I didn't really feel good about going there after the horrible experience.
And, YET AGAIN, their scanners didn't take off discounts at all on 3 items, and YET AGAIN I had to go to customer service and screw around for another 5-10 minutes getting a refund.
Prior to the pickup experience, there were at least 7 times...EVERY time...that I went there and their scanners scanned wrong and didn't give me the discounts. YES I know how to put the discounts on the card and I know how to use their app, and their scanners just don't register the discounts!
Seems that Safeway/Albertson's were fined FOUR MILLION BUCKS last year in California for exactly the same kind of thing, look it up online. I'm sure the same thing is coming in Arizona in the near future. I'm one person, a single shopper, and these errors happen every time. Multiply that by...even 10-15% of shoppers that go there every week, and think about how much they are ripping people off without proper audits and observing a price accuracy policy. Not everyone (most people I surmise) notices a 2-3 dollar pricing error. It is completely unacceptable. I definitely will not go to the Southern Ave. Store in Mesa again, they can kiss my you know what.

Recommendation: Do not shop here, go elsewhere!
Also, when I did ask customer service about the gift card the manager supposedly left for me, they could find nothing (she half-heartedly looked in one drawer there). And they did not offer me a $5 pricing error gift card today, it occured to me after I left they are supposed to do that every time, it's actually POSTED in their store!
