My daughter just had her teeth pulled and was given a rx for pain med and a rx for antibiotics. She stood in line and gave the pharmacy tech her rx and instantly she got a look on her face that was very unpleasant and acted totally rude to my daughter. She then asked if she wanted to wait my day said yes and the rep in a very snide tone it going to be 45 min. 45 min passed and my daughter stood in line again while others were called to the counter! Then was told her insurance was canceled which it wasn't ! every time she goes there they say she doesn't have Ins. She was forced to stand inline again! She was going to pay cash for her rx and come back the next day and get a refund. The pharmacist then stated he needed to call the dentist! To approve her rx! Her dentist approved it and the pharmacist stated that he wasn't going to fill it! My daughter had just had oral surgery and was in tremendous pain! And your pharmacy discriminated against her and treated her horribly! I am so angry and will be contacting our attorneys this was unfair treatment and no one should ever be treated this way EVER!
bad salmon purchased almost killed me!

- I've been a Safeway client for more than a decade now. This Saturday, i went to Safeway and made a 51.78 $ purchase at Store 2734 including two pre-packed Salmon fillet packs each labelled 50% off, for about 20$. When arriving home, i cooked a small piece of one of them and ate it. Later that day, i sensed a bad smell in the freezer, which turned out to be coming from the salmon. It was distinct despite being in the freezer! I immediately trashed them and placed the trash away since it was a terrible smell and went to the nearest Safeway with the empty packs and asked for a reimbursement, which i got. The branch manager was very helpful and agreed with me and even didn't want to throw the empty packs in the nearby garbage bin since he feared the smell to propagate even though the packs were empty. Instead he trashed them far enough. When i arrived back home, the worst weekend i've ever had was about to start. Vomiting, diarrhea, throwing-out, dizziness were all involved. I scheduled a doctor appointment tomorrow Monday and will skip work for that.
- Requested resolution: I would like Safeway to reimburse me for the direct costs, indirect costs (work missed, weekend activities, ..) and most importantly the inconvenience incurred. I have spent thousands of dollars at Safeway during the past years and deem such reimbursement as being fair. I think 200$ is less than the inconvenience incurred and is a minimum one could ask for. I've purchased Salmon from Safeway for a long time now and never got a problem. I understand it was an unintentional mistake but it did hurt me a lot.

I submitted by mistake a complaint on Complaints Board and this company could not be less professional in handling my request to delete a complaint i wrote. It refused to remove my phone number and name that were added by mistake to the complaint. Their disdain of customer data privacy could not be lower than the worst complaint they probably host. They even refused to share their legal contact to further pursue legal action. They deal lightly with people/values and should not be trusted with handling complaints against any entity.
unjust accusation and racial profiling
Today I shopped for my groceries through the app/service Instacart because it was down pouring in D.C. and I don't have a car. While picking up my products, my shopper's phone died and he had to go up front to charge it so he could finish fulfilling my order. While there, he was accused of trying to steal the groceries. Despite having his Instacart credentials on him, management got the police involved and put all the groceries back, forcing him to redo the entire shopping experience. For the sake of extreme clarity, Fred is black. This poor guy was out in the rain doing his job with proof on hand while I watched him shop on the app, yet Safeway made disgustingly bigoted assumptions that wasted two hours of his time and humiliated him in the process. My heart breaks for him and I'm reviled by that store's management. They own him at least ten apologies and I doubt he'll get one.
Please, please address how inappropriate this was with that store's management. Apparently they still live in 1950. The address is 490 L St NW, Washington DC, 20001 and this happened around 8:15pm EST on June 3rd.

I am most concerned with the direction this store is taking under new management. Variety of product is nil unless you want the signature brand or if there is a choice, shelves are bare or product is moved around to make it seem stocked. Dairy products in some cases are beyond the sell date. The store, under alan anderson, was superb - shelves stocked, choice of product. The deterioration of the store has driven me - and quite a few of my friends - to do our shopping at fry's. It is a drive but worth it for plentiful choices and stocked shelves.

I was getting some groceries at a local Safeway. I stopped at the deli department to get some prosciutto. At the deli, there was a young lady who helped me. She provided me with my deli meat and when I got home, I found hair in my meat. Absolutely disgusting and disappointed. I shop at this Safeway at least twice a week. No hairnet, absolutely nothing to prevent this from happening. I not only lost my money for this purchase but lost trust from getting anything else from this deli department.
gas rewards
I inquired about my points towards another gas reward that disappeared after the end of May and found out they don't roll over. I have earned these rewards points and what you are doing is wrong. People such as myself spend a lot of money at Safeway to earn these rewards plus because they like Safeway in general and because of their products and services. So once again I think this is wrong and you should do something to remedy this problem so people can keep their points and be loyal to Safeway.
Customer service/bagging
I would like to file a formal complaint. I have been shopping here for 3 years and I finally had enough. 3 years of employees in-and-out, come and gone, and not one decent bagger who can bag my groceries without me having to replace something EVERY trip. I am sick to death at having my bread squished, eggs cracked, soda cans burts, fruits and vegetables brused and rolling freely in my cart, Chips broken into crumbs, etc. My suggestion would be some training for your baggers on how to properly bag groceries. I am tired of having to take a trip back to the darn store to replace something that has been ruined by the way it was bagged! I'm glad to see your company has money to do renovations and put in self check out stands, but not enough to train your employees. They all seem to walk around with sour faces and bad attitudes. It doesn't seem like a very happy place to work, let alone shop. This is the only store in town that isn't over prices, or a trashy store. But I am SO over having my groceries ruined because some employees had a bad attitude and doesn't care it they put chips or bread in a bag with something like a 2 liter soda. Just dumb.
products not delivered

Today I received my groceries delivery from safeway, but a lot of items was missing. Basically all the frozen food I bought was not delivered, which leads to to believe the delivery person did not hand me one of the bags. I was in a lot of hurry and did not notice it before, especially because the delivery was made more than one hour after the established delivery window. I had to leave my house and was stuck waiting for over one hour. The delivery person finally arrived after 10am, and I barely had time to put all the groceries away before I had to leave for class. The reason that people order groceries through delivery is mainly for practicality and to save time, and the later was not true in this last delivery. I would even say also not the former, since half of my things were missing and yet I was charged the full amount. I wish to be reimbursed for the missing items, or better yet, that they be delivered on the earliest possible day. I do not want a store credit, since after one more disappointment with safeway I will never buy there again.

I would advice anyone who need to order their groceries delivered and actually ands their groceries to arrive to never shop with this supermarket again. Get an amazon fresh subscription.
This is not the first time i've had issues with safeway, but the first one that they actually failed to deliver a whole bag of products and then did not reply for three day, even though my credit card was charged the full amount.

I ordered groceries on May 28th, for delivery on May 29th between 6:00 and 8:00pm to my mother who is disabled. By 8:15pm no groceries, and no phone call regarding delivery. I called the grocery delivery customer support at 8:20 pm. She said there was no way they could track this truck and that I should just continue to wait.
By the next morning, May 30th, I called again at 10:00 am, because the groceries still were not delivered, and we still had not received any phone calls. I was put on hold forever, only to be told that they knew that groceries were placed on the truck, but they have no idea what happened after that.
All they offered me was to bring the groceries the next day! I asked if they could make an exception and deliver the order the same day, and they said that was not possible. I asked for a Manager and was told that they would tell me the same thing. They said I could call the store in Brandywine, Maryland myself.

Why do I have to hunt down someone to deliver groceries a day late, that I already paid over $100.00 for? I use this service regularly and this is completely unacceptable.
As I said, my mother is disabled, and this is how I get her the food that she needs when I cannot shop for her. She was all out of toilet paper, snacks and dinner. This is unacceptable and I need those groceries delivered today.
If I had known it would be this much trouble, I would have taken off work and done it myself.
employee rude behavior
I had a very unpleasant experience with the cashier working the express lane. Three lanes were open and all lines were all quite short. Although it was my fault for not realizing I was in the express lane until my 28 items were already placed onto the belt, then the cashier rudely told me it was for 15 items or less. At this point, there were no one else in line behind me. I apologized to him and was ready to proceed to move to another lane but he responded with "well don't apologize to me, ask the people behind you first." I apologized to the man behind me and he assured me that it was fine to stay. I constantly apologized to the cashier (Michael) but he continued with a very unnecessary and condescending remark with a cashier in the neighboring lane. I felt humiliated and cashier was very unpleasant the entire time. I left very upset because although I was at fault for being in the wrong line, this employee made me feel dumb, mistreated, and victimized.
The store only had 3 lanes open in total. It was not a busy evening but in the future, I hope the employees can be a little more flexible with express lanes, especially if nobody else has a problem or when there is no one else in line. It was an honest mistake and the employee could've have handled it differently or spoken to me in a nicer and more forgiving tone. I apologized 4-5 times while bagging my own groceries. He also forgot one of my ice creams.

St Helens or pharmacy doesn't have medications stocked. Sometimes I have to drive up to 70 miles, 3 trips to get one ordinary prescription. This pharmacy closes in the middle of the day when most people are going about the business of the day. The Pharmacist seems like he doesn't like me and at times is very rude. There are only two employees and cant keep up. A medication can take up to 4 days if ordered before its shipped to store. Once a month this happens filling my prescriptions. I receive messages fr days after picking up or when meds are ready.

Santa Rosa, CA 95405, has a store manager and other managers that on many occasions have gotten frustrated at customers and myself for making them do "extra work" they don't want to do. I also experienced a Checker tell me that it's a waste of her time to scan Monopoly coupons. I don't think you should host these "games" if your employees are going to be so hostile and rude for customers wanting to participate. You have lost a long time customer because of this location and it's management.
Most unprofessional New store manager at San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon Safeway named Ben. Ben is very young and does not have enough life experience to be store Manager. He is a bully and he strong-arms his employees. Everyone of his employees are afraid to do/ say anything in fear of retaliation from Ben. Ben calls names and belittles his employees because in his position he feels he can. Ben you are a manager, when you have a team of employees you hold their hand and guide your employees because Safeway works as a team and can thrive together. However this kind of “bully management “ can only keep employees down. I am going to go on social media and blog Bens name all over the place until he knows how wrong he is for being a bully. I’m personally not sure how he sleeps at night. Maybe a lawyer could tell me how wrong this is? After all it is a union store that is supposed to fix these types of things and prevent it from happening again.

On 5/21/18 I called in to get my prescription filled, they had to call my doctor to get the new prescription. I was heading out of town in two days and needed my thyroid medication. The pharmacist on the phone was very nice and said he would give me a few days supply to last while I was out of town while they got my prescription together.
On 5/23/18 I went in to pick up my prescription, I noticed the pharmacist was helping an older lady with her paperwork but seemed to be very short with her. She left to wait for her medication and I approached the front of the line. The pharmacists made me wait about 3-5 min while he shuffled about doing paperwork. I kindly asked he "Excuse me, I am about to be late for my flight" his response was "well I'm late too." He ignored my request for service and continued doing paperwork. Finally, he came to the counter to realize my perspective wasn't ready and began treating me that "as a pharmacist, I can use my discretion if I feel an emergency perception" he said that twice while he filled my five day supply of thyroid medication. While he was filling the prescription he was saying rude comments and treating me very poorly. I said to him, I'm a customer please treat me like one. And he repeated his "discretion" quote. Finally, we were able to have a conversation about how I was treated and he never apologized.
This pharmacy has been very hard to work with, I have tried very hard to get an automatic refill and it has only caused issues for the last three months. The fact that my doctor wasn't notified that I needed a refill the day my perception ran out shows inefficacies in your operations. The way the pharmacist treated me and other customers show that he either hates his job or need support at the pharmacy. Perhaps the pharmacy is understaffed. Either way, I will be pulling my prescriptions from your pharmacy for lack of service and how I was treated.
I have never been treated so poorly by anyone who worked in customer service. I try to support local stores, but this really was unnecessary and I hope the pharmacist knows that customers are the reason he has a job.
I don't want a refund, I just want this perception filled so that I can move my prescriptions to another place where I will be treated kindly. I also would like the pharmacist to get some more staff, and be warned of his behavior.

Beware! 5/26/18 at 10:30 AM. I walked past a table in the middle right where you walk in and there was 3 cakes that had strawberries on it with mold! That is so disgusting. They also have some of the same cakes in the bakery but they are on the cold table. Makes me afraid to how old this cake is. Not going to be buying any "fresh" food here anymore.

I was at the Safeway in Mill Valley at 800 Redwood Highway and was harassed by the clerk at self check-out multiple times while making purchases. I am currently working on a project and have quotas of individual products to fulfill and have the make the purchases separately. I cannot purchase multiples of one item and register that purchase as a fulfillment of multiple quotas. I was purchasing Pepsi yesterday. He gave a few agressive, malicious and contemptuous looks and then had asked I "Is there something wrong with the Pepsi?", unconstitutionally (every citizen has a right to be free of all interrorgation - extortion of information- no espionage) and inhumanely, to which I had answeren, "I am just making some purchases.". While I was finishing my purchases for the day (I had a couple more purchases to make), he had deciden to summon I to his check out stand and ask for my ID with a domineering and condescending attitude, in order to complete the purchase. I left without completing my project.
I am currently involven in Court trial
and discovery and will be seeking the fullest extent for all human rights abuse engagen in by his person upon the completion of discovery, in accordance with due process of the law.
I appreciate your service and hope to be allowen to continue using the store location, in a spirit of good faith and brotherhood.

On 5/24/18, I had been trying to get my prescriptions filled at your pharmacy in Cheyenne, WY, never used it before, but I do a lot of my grocery shopping, so why not?
I was met at the pickup by Royce Philcott, Pharacist. He was very rude to me. I was on the phone with my HSA in order to determine if the prescriptions would be covered, so I could pay cash and avoid IRS fees, and he demanded that I hang up the phone. I informed him what I was doing and he demanded again. He wasn't pleasant and lacked professionalism of any sort. I put the phone down and he refused to talk to me until I hung up. Royce informed me that my copay was about $250 dollars for three prescriptions, and I was taken back by that. Then he informed me that I had to come back the next day because they didn't have time correct some mistake that he noticed. This was very aggravating.
The next day I made some phone calls and I took my business elsewhere, saving over $250. When another pharmacy ran my insurance the copay was almost nothing. The pharmacist couldn't count the pills right and then he wanted to over charge me, and make me wait another full day. I won't be coming back.

I ordered groceries to be delivered on 5/22/18 from 7-8AM.
The groceries did not arrive until 9:50AM and therefore I was late to work. I did not get any explanation as to why my order was late. I lost out on an hour of pay at my job which can not be made up.
I would like a full refund on my groceries and free delivery in the future.

The Safeway branch located in North Davis (1451 W Covell Blvd, Davis, CA 95616) changed operating hours from 24h to 6am-2am a while ago. However, multiple occasions when I went to store before 2 am (usually around 1:15-1: 30 am) the store doors are closed! Therefore, other customers and I had to wait for existing customers in the store to come out and we jump in through the exit door. They did not respond to knock on the door. When confronted the cashier, he did not respond to the complaint as if nobody is talking to him! This incident happened multiple times in past months. Not to mention there is only one cashier late hours with a loooong line of customers that sometimes takes 20mins to check out. Our household and friends are switching the regular store we use but thought might be useful to report it. Thanks.
