Real Canadian Superstore Sale priced item

Date of Incident July 7, 2023 7:30 A.M.

We purchased No Name Peanut Butter that was advertised and listed on the shelf as being on sale for 3.99 with a regular price of 4.79.

Each variety of the No Name peanut butter was tagged separately to clearly define the product. Each item had a LIMIT of 4 per customer.

We took 4 of Light Smooth Peanut Butter and 4 of Crunchy Peanut Butter. Each Item was clearly shown as a limit of 4.

At the checkout we were charged the sale price for the 4 items of one variety and were charged the regular price for the 4 items of the second variety.

We took our product and sales slip immediately to customer service to have the error corrected.

After much discussion in this regard they finally consented to allowing us to get all 8 at the sale price as they were, indeed two separate items, clearly defined by their shelf tag and product number. We asked that they give us the first item in error free in accordance with the law which they refused We are requesting that you correct this issue.

Desired outcome: We are requesting the refund for the first item in accordance with the regulation posted at the entrance door.Refund can be put on my PC Optimum Card . No. [protected]

Real Canadian Superstore Flash food

I am writing out of frustration. You changed location of flash food freezers from self serve checkout area to customer service area in the front of the store. The freezers are now left unlocked and items are being stolen from them or exchanged for lesser value one. The staff are either busy with customers or dont care enough to check. This the 5th time my items were either stolen to switched for cheaper items. Today a $22.00 steak was switched for a $9.00 steak. So either it was outright stolen or just switch for the cheaper type. Last time I was in there was someone going through the freezer handling the food and didnt even have anything in there that they purchased. Just browsing. Is this the new service you now offer. I am shopping at the Wasaga Beach Superstore and can't say much for management ot that they are even aware that this is happening. Items get replaced but costs will go up when food is stolen. My contact is [protected] or [protected]@hotmail.com Thank you.

Desired outcome: Location of freezers changed back as before and locked

Real Canadian Superstore Free gift when you spend at least $300.00

I have had so many unpleasant experiences with supervising staff at the Campbell River, B.C. Store and the policy that they are told to follow in that there can be only one gift per customer no matter how much they spend.

I have been a long standing loyal customer of Superstore. I normally shop a huge order once per month. My last order cost me $650.00 which is substantially less than what I normally spend which would average $900.00.

In my experience on June 25/2023 at approximately 7:30 PM, after I had loaded all of my groceries, I told the cashier that I had $50.00 worth of points outstanding and would like to use them against the cost of my groceries. He acknowledged that he would. When he finished running through my order he told me I was eligible for ONE free gift (a box of various condiments). I replied that I should be eligible for TWO since I had spent double the amount that was required to receive the gift. His reply was that he is instructed to give only one gift per customer. LET ME BE CLEAR.,. MY LOGIC IS THAT I COULD HAVE DONE ONE OF TWO THINGS... 1) I could have told him then to take back $300.00 worth of my groceries which would than have me spending less at their store and their staff would have to gather up all of those groceries

Desired outcome: Not enough room above to express my complaint and how rudely I was treated by a supervisor.

Real Canadian Superstore The tons of Blue Bags that I am getting on my phone delivery orders

I am 90 years old therefore find it easier to order on line but I am getting inundated with blue bags - what am I supposed to do with those - are they recyclable or should I put them in the garbage for the City of Toronto to deal with and eventually they might stop you for using those bags - I cannot possibly use that many nor give them to anyone - I even went to the store at Brimley Rd Scarborough and gave them some but since they did not know what to do with the bags they were going to put them in the garbage - that is unacceptable and I would like to know how much you are charging us for those bags

Real Canadian Superstore Clerk at self check out

I have been doing my shopping every other Wednesday at Superstore at around 10am for 3 years now, and ever since our store has put in the self check outs I have been happily using them. I have bad social anxiety and since COVID 19 started I've really enjoyed the option of not having another set of hands handling my groceries and being able to leave the "social" aspect out of my grocery shopping.

I go this particular day and time because the store is relatively slow, and I have literally used self check out every time I've been in the store since it was installed.

Today however when I got to the self check out there was one other person there (6 tills in total) and he had about maybe 10 items. There was no line and I walked up to a till to start and the clerk who "over sees" the self check out came up to me and told me to leave. I was really thrown off as this has never happened to me before. I asked her why and she said I had over 25 items. I was confused and she then pointed out the small sign that said not over 25 items which I had honestly never noticed before, and no other self check out clerk has ever said anything to me about my amount of items. Looking at my chart I didn't think I really had that many items and as I was thrown off I told her I always check out here and that she could count my items if she wanted to, she counted maybe 5 things and then she insisted I had to leave the self check out. She made me feel super uncomfortable and embarrassed and she came off every condescending to me. She kept calling me "sweetie" and "sweetheart" in a tone that I certainly did not appreciate.

I proceed to use a regular check out and I ended up having 27 items. I watched the self check out area the entire time I waiting in line at the regular check out and while I was bagging and paying there was 3 other people that went through the self check out.

It would have taken me maybe 5 mins to use the self check out, bag my stuff and leave but instead I had to stand in line (there were four tills open) and spent an additional 15-20 mins using the regular tills.

I just think that with 27 items she was pretty dramatic turning me away, speaking over me and making the situation just overall uncomfortable. Especially as there were literally no other people checking out at the self check out at that point and by the time she stopped speaking I could have already been paying and leaving.

I get there are rules and they are there for a reason. I literally didn't know about the limit policy at the self check out and as I said no employee has ever mentioned it to me in the 80 odd times I've used them and the sign is small and not in a place I would ever even look. Overall I just think she really could have handled the situation a lot better. I was really surprised, it was not the customer service I am used to at Superstore, and she made me feel like a bad child being lectured (I am 31 years old) not a customer.

Desired outcome: Maybe tell the clerks that work at the self check out that they don't need to be so confrontational and choose their battles?

Real Canadian Superstore Failed to offer me a job in another department after being terminated

On June 4, 2023 at 7:15 am i was terminated from my job at Superstore, Spruce Grove, Alberta. My immediate supervisor said I was fired from my job as an overnight stock. He did not offer me a job in another department or sign me up for the Store Managers crosstraining program. I overheard Melissa talk about my shirts. She complained about my b.o. And one of the managers, Dan berated me in front of the whole staff. Even though I showered that day. I would like to see the immediate supervisor, Dan, Melissa, and The Store Manager fired for not following their own training videos on inclusion, and age discrimination in the workplace. At least offer me a job in a different departments

Desired outcome: An apology and a job offer in another department, and termination of those people who fired me.

Real Canadian Superstore Milk

Bought a Beatrice 3.25% 2 Litre Pack with Expiry date 27th May 2023 in Real Canadian Superstore 215 St. Annes Road branch (Superstore (1514)) on 12th May 2023. Till 22nd May it was good, but when i used it on 23rd May it was spoiled. so i thrown it. I am living in downtown and i could not able to go back to the store with the milk and raise a complaint. This is a huge disappointment for me, 6 months back i faced the same issue but i did not raise a complaint but now i am bit frustrated about the quality.

Another issue was on the same day i have billed wrongly for an item which i did not buy Onion Greens for $3.58 they have charged, but i did not check the bill at the stores and when i reached home and check the bill i found it was wrongly charged,

Desired outcome: You can refund or apologize, this should not happen in future, because i trust superstore.

Real Canadian Superstore Deli

The employees at deli think it's okay to talk with one another when there is a line up at the deli. They are not paying attention to the customers and are in mid conversation when they need assistance. I also noticed that they are not in proper uniform nor do they train their new employees... they should be paying someone to train the new people. Tht ridiculous .. Something seriously needs to be done about this. Where is the labour board ?

Wasaga beach location ON CANADA

do not recommend.

Desired outcome: I'd like to see proper customer service and less chit chat. That's not what they are at work for...

Real Canadian Superstore Self checkout

Thursday May 18, 10 pm kelowna superstore. A lady working the self checkout in a white shirt with a black vest was rude to me, telling me that I had too many items and I couldn't use the self check out, I was there with my toddler and starting to scan my first item I had to do two purchases because one was for the office and I figured it would be easier, I told her I had two purchases and she said it didn't matter in a brusque tone of voice. I counted after I went to the other till all my items total were 22. I have never been turned away from self check out, it was not busy being late. I wouldn't of minded if she was kind and apologetic about it. I go into superstore, I dont expect any service, I shop the self checkout, but rudeness has no place in customer service.

Real Canadian Superstore Price gouging

I have been concerned about the rising prices that are taking place in Superstore. From what I understand this company has made made more than $400 Million in profit during the first 3 months of this year…so why are prices so inflated when this is happening. As Canadians, many are going through tough economic times due to grocery prices. If a company is making this kind of a profit and causing misery to the population in general - well that is just criminal. Attached is the following video:

Desired outcome: Stop price gouging

Real Canadian Superstore Pharmacy at Pitt Meadows store

Would like an explanation! On Tuesday I received a call from the pharmacy telling me a new medication ordered by my doctor would cost approximately 170.00 for a ninety day supply. This was very expensive for me so I opted for a 30 day supply instead and to also insure that I would not have any problems taking the drug. Well imagine my surprise when I got to the pharmacy and they wanted 98.00 for 30 days. According to my math a thirty day supply would be give or take about 60.00. Almost a 40.00 price difference. What gives? Whose getting rich here? It is definitely not the consumer! I would like an explanation has to this pricing before I go to social media about it. And want to hear back from someone in charge. Also the last three trips to this store I have had to go to the counter to have my billed fixed. Your items buy 10 for 1:00 each. Each time the cash register not giving me the discounts. Have to, go to the counter to have fixed. Wasting my time also. You can reach me thru the pharmacy. Colleen Estridge

Desired outcome: Wanted answers regarding the prescriptions (re price gouging and get your terminals fixed!!!! Wasting my time.

Real Canadian Superstore False accusation by manager

Weekly, we grocery shop at Superstore in Chilliwack BC.

At the checkout, as I was scanning my food items, I placed the scanned items back into my cart as usual. The store manager, Nanveet approached and told me to place the scanned items on the countertop instead. She repeated a couple of times adding this is the new ruling of the company. I responded, I will do that.

Removed the scanned items out of my cart and placed them onto the counter- top as instructed. A couple of minutes later, Nanveet came back and told me she wanted to check the scanned items on the countertop to tally them on the screen monitor. Politely, I requested her NOT to touch my food items repeatedly as I would show her the items to tally them on the screen monitor. Ignoring my requests she replied, she can touch the items as you have not paid for them yet.

Nanveet has the audacity to tell us that we were making things difficult for her. Her behaviour was obnoxious and disrespectful as she persisted on touching the items! Then, my Sis asked her to at least sanitize her hands yet she refused! She checked thrice the scanned items comparing them on the screen monitor, she affirmed that there were 11 scanned items on the countertop and only 9 items on the screen. Told her she did not scroll up the screen to see the complete items then I moved the screen up for her to view.

She did not apologise but blame it on company's policy. I asked to see the manager, her response was, "I'm the manager here". With her unreasonable and obnoxious behaviour, I requested for the top store manager.

Mr Chevy came to end the accusation caused by Nanveet.

He was patience, took the time to listen and apologised to us.

The reason why I am writing this complaint as I did not fully relate the incident to Mr Chevy due to the frozen foods that were sitting on the countertop for quite sometime.

We were very upset if it's not for a family member's birthday celebration, we would have forgo all the items and walked out! Why we do not want anyone to touch our food items because the virus is still around. We are protecting ourselves and others. If Nanveet would sanitize her hands, this would not come to this.

As a store manager, Nanveet MUST NOT accuse and embarrass us of cheating without any proof! She has zero PR skill and extremely unprofessional! We know she is doing her job and following company's new rules. But her wrong approach, negative attitude and blaming the company's new rulings are totally unacceptable!

Hope Real Canadian Superstore Management will not take this incident likely.

Alicia

Real Canadian Superstore Abilist, mean self-check out representitive.

I have been going to Superstore for over a decade and have not had little complain about until tonight.

I used the self-serve check out and had issues scanning a couple of items, so I put them to aside for later.

After a while, a female staff rep came over and asked "Am I buying them?" I let her know they were not scanning. She angrily scanned them in after a few failed tries and left.

As a caveat, I have cognitive challenges under loud, bright, situations where I am being stared at by staff. Under stress, I am slightly slower than most people at tasks, but generally, I am fine.

She later took the time to come over, when I didn't need help, and snarkily say "If I am going to shop here, next time don't use the self checkout, because I can only use self check out if I have under 25 items." Then she turned her back and walked off.

I looked down at my items and took time to count them, I had less than 25. So instead of assuming she was trying to be rude and abilist I let her know, I have less than 25. She looked at me and repeated the same line and also added," Ya but your only one person" then gestured with her arms at the amount of people waiting, of which there were none. I became confused. I was confused and again repeated myself, "I counted and I have less than 25". She walked off to join her staff peer and continue to stare ahead at nothing.

It then dawned on me that she was insinuating that I am taking too long for her liking. I can only infer from her lack of logic and snarky superiority complex, there was something about me she personally disliked.

She did not care or listen to what I said and acted like I had said nothing. Probably the only power she had to feel better about herself was to reprimand me for some imagined infraction.

Generally, I don't let micro aggressions like these get the best of me, but it left me feeling horrible and judged for something that was not tangible, i.e. discriminated against.

If so it's a cowardly way of bullying people to overcompensate for an unhappy life.

Post covid, I thought we could all do better but it seems people forget quickly what the value of community is.

I am disappointed at the standard of representation that was hired by this store at Grandview.

Desired outcome: Staff should learn to recognize and tolerate people who are differently abled. Companies in customer service now have cultural and differently-abled sensitivity training and plus communication skills.

Real Canadian Superstore My check out experience

My experience at your walker road store check out was the worst I have ever had at any check out in my life. There were 2 people in front of me. When the cashier got to the end of the order of the person before me there was a problem. The cashier tried to fix it, then had to call someone who in turn had to call someone. The register required a long reboot process. I spent at least one half an hour waiting. I then took my groceries off the conveyor and went to another line that again required a long wait. Finally I paid for my groceries and then found out the cashier did not know how to scan for points for my bags. Rather then further waiting I said forget it and left. I am inclined to not require your grocery store services, or any of your services!

Real Canadian Superstore Customer service

I am speaking in behalf of the other customer. The front end manager (zagar) at the supertore signal hill is very rude and arrogant. One of the customer had paid her grocery and was approached by that person and rudely asked the customer if she paid it. That is very unacceptable behaviour of a manager! They already saw her pay and was addressed like that? What a shame!

Desired outcome: That manager should be dicipline, his very rude!
