Purolator Canadapurolator canada - sucks, incompetent, lazy drivers, no customer service, seniors hide

P Review updated:

Purolator they really sucks. Their drivers are lazy. May be they are not but they are burned with lots of deliveries and pick up, so cannot keep up. (Still not my problem) purolator doesn;t want to hire more people as compared to their work committment. (Still not my problem)

Most often their deliveries are not done and various lies posted on tracking system to make fool out of you. The mistake is put on recipient.

Their regular excuses are : address correction required, customer not available, customer refused package etc. These claims are made by driver in most cases to avoid more work. This is done even before coming to customer's premises.

Just don;t trust purolator, they really suck. Don;t waste your time, money and your important business with them.
Just avoid them. . . They are crapiest company i have ever seen in this country. .

Not to talk about customer service. . . Mostly your phones will not be picked up or it will be on hold for long. Even if you manage to get them on phone, she or he will repeat same thing what is written on tracking. No help or means to solve problem will ever be suggested by them.

"i don;t know " attitude of customer service is what is making them one of the worst courier service here. .

Keep them out of business. They are absolutely jokers. Their seniors hide behind those poor customer service girls and toll free numbers. There is no way and means to even complain and some how fix the situation.

I am totally annoyed with these jokers. Wonder how they are even in business???

Driver reported my address was not correct so they didn't have to deliver it the day before the long weekend. Called in and I swear it's always the same old lady that has no clue and repeatedly asks for the tracking number and can't read the notes correctly. Tells me that she can't place it on hold for pickup even though I did in the morning already. Every time it's a hassle to get a package. Even if I wait at my home, the driver manages to stick a note on my door and leave without delivering it.

@purolatorsuckss Purolator is the worst. Here, if you aren't home or fail to run to the door fast enough they leave a tag on your door and leave it literally 40 miles away at a "depot" In this case at a train station in Cornwall Ontario. What is the actual point of this? I have made a specific request to all of my suppliers that they avoid Purolator at any cost.

Yes, they are really sucks if you live in an apartment, they never show up, never call you even there are a buzzer code on your address, I am an amazon prime member, I supposed to receive my package today and they did not send it to me, I am not sure why amazon still using them, every time if my package is from them, I never received it. now I just do not want to buy anything from amazon if I saw the carrier was this company, I would just call amazon and ask them to refund me the money if the carrier was this company, I'd rather go to the store or other website to buy things I need, I do not want to waste my time to go their pick up location to get the package., this company is so hateful, really disappointed.

The only reason Purolator is still in business is they are owned and subsidised by Canada Post

They seem to make up excuses on the fly that are totally untrue. Like No one home or no one answered the door when they did not even go to the door which is completely evident by the fact they did not leave a delivery notice. Now on my delivery today they decided to claim delayed due to "Bad Weather" like as if we can't check the current weather anywhere in the world. and certainly within an hours drive of my place (Langley which is where the supposed "Bad Weather" is) it is perfectly clear with no weather problems whatsoever.

I am glad that Amazon has their own delivery service and uses it more often. I is a bit harder to get detailed tracking but at least they deliver on the day they say they will 995 of the time. With Purolator it is more a 60 / 40 (60% not delivered on time) chance.

At least this time they posted the delay in the morning so I wasn't waiting around all day waiting for it. Usually they post the delay at 7pm or so after it was supposed to have been delivered.

Not sure why anyone (Especially Amazon) still continues to use them.

I could walk faster from Victoria B.C to vancouver, deliver my item and then walk back way quicker then the usual I get from the four to five day return time that is always because of high volumes, missed conections, or whatever excuse I get from these guys.If I ran my business this way I would have no customers. If you have a higher volumes, higher people to get your service to work.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and frustration this caused.

Would it be possible to email your tracking number to [email protected] so that we can look into the situation? The driver should be leaving a notice of delivery if there is a safe place to do so, and a phone call should have been placed to the number listed on the package once it was available for pickup.

I had a package coming from the U.S. to Toronto. The tracking number was provided by the business doing to shipping, via Purolator. Six days after having placed the order, I decided to do an order track. Not that it was late, basic U.S. orders often take a week. The tracking informed me that two delivery attempts had been made and there was no answer, which would have happened as most people work for a living. But, the delivery person left NO paper stubs indicating an attempt was made! The item is question was now at Purolator's depot in south Toronto (15km from me) and I had just a couple days to go get it before it went back to the U.S. So, I had to waste 2 hours driving to an back from the depot which is in an inaccessible spot in Toronto. But the main issue was the unleft slips saying a delivery attempt had been made. Did the driver actually even show up? Unlikely.

Purolator clientele are so lazy that they just left a note 2 minutes after door belling my door (they were here 4:05, i saw the note at 4:08). on the note it told me to go get my package at cote vertu ouest, when i live at somewhere in west island .they also keep packages for 5 business days, while others keep packages for up to 10 business days. i am triggered. Purolator could suck it. stupid shipping company. 0/10 would never ship again.

I live in a two tower apartment complex with a 24 hour concierge. Twice now I have used Purolator and have not recieved my packages due to missed delivery, worse yet they do not leave a note after the first attempt, instead sending the package back to a sort facility for a second attempt the next day, this happened 3 days in a row for my first package. After speaking with my concierge I do not believe an attempt was even made, this is perhaps something the driver records if his shift is finished or some other ridiculous reason.

I will no longer be using Purolator and be informing the other 600 residents in my complex about the risks involved with using Purolator if you need your package delivered on time.

    Hi rhea.vk,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having issues receiving your deliveries. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

The drivers should be looking up the buzz code when delivering and ringing up to the apartment. If you can email the tracking number to [email protected], I will follow up on this. As a side note, if you miss a delivery attempt, and picking up a package at the main depot is not possible, we can request a 2nd attempt or verify if there’s a closer shipping agent or retail we can transfer it to.

    Thank you,

Purolator's terrible. I live in an apartment building, and it's like as if they don't bother delivering the parcel when they realize the recipient lives in an apartment building. Countless times I've had my shipment sent back to the shipping centre (which is more than an HOUR away from my home) because "recipient was not home", when I've been home the whole day waiting for my package. They don't even try the buzzer! If it doesn't fit in the tiny mailbox, they send it back. IF I WANTED TO TRAVEL AN HOUR TO PICK UP MY DELIVERY, I WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN IT DELIVERED, PUROLATOR. They're the worst.

I have always had good experiences with purolator, everything arrived on time. Today after two days of being sick and having a sick toddler, middle of a nap hear a knock on the door. Baby's sleeping, dogs are barking I rush downstairs. Hold the door so the dogs don't get out and sign and he leaves...few hours later at 11pm the cops show up at my door...purolator guy called the cops on me cause something was 'off' single mom with the flu, and a sick baby..I had ordered birthday gifts for my daughters upcoming first birthday...apparently that is 'suspicious' i let the three large officers in to have a look around..I am sure they were completely fascinated by the pretty toys for my child. Apparently birthday presents warrant a call to the Police

    Purolator - AVOID THEM Jul 18, 2015

Re: Damaged Shipment dated Jul-9-15 Track # [protected] I recently purchased a LED 39” TV (May 17th 2015) while I was working in Vancouver. On July 09th I had the TV shipped from Vancouver to Toronto. I had originally completed the shipping document online and requested a replacement value of $300.00. When I delivered the TV to your office at 1090 W. Pender St (Vancouver), they had to input the shipment manually because they were not able to give me a discount on a 40% off shipping coupon on your website. When the lady inputted the information onto the shipping label, I mentioned that I wanted the $3000 replacement value in case something happened. She informed me that this was not a service they offered anymore (ended 1 month ago) because they had too many claims for damage. Well, I am another one to add to your list. The TV was less than 2 months old, shipped in its original packing material and when I opened the box and turned the TV on, you can see what happened in the pics attached. I CANNOT believe that Purolator would be so deceitful in this manner… So you will still accept shipping TVs/Electronics BUT you take no responsibility if they get damaged on route. I had “FRAGILE” stickers everywhere on the box and you still managed to destroy the TV. Someone should be held responsible for this.. and its not me...

Update - Purolator declined my request for compensation, , , BIG SURPRISE!!! Avoid them like the plague

Purolator is a nightmare. Not only did they not deliver items to my apartment, the drivers lied about how the items were failed to delivered.
I had ordered many items that were delivered by Purolator, and 99% of the time the items failed to arrive to my place. After first failed delivery, I decided to be a bit nicer by checking their website for delivery status and waited at the apartment gate waiting for the driver so they did not have to come up. Guess what, waiting for two hours while checking the website status, no Purolator vehicle passed by and the status of the delivery suddenly changed to no one at home. This did not happen once but every time they said the driver was "trying to deliver".
Every time I waited at the gate and never did I see any Purolator vehicle or deliver guy passing by. All I got were reasons for fail delivery like "not at home, refused to accept item, wrong address, etc..."
Last time I ordered something that used Purolator, I immediately contacted Purolator not to delivered the item to my place because I knew they would not deliver anything and leave me waiting for few times of "fail delivery attempts" before letting me arrange a pickup. Guess what, I was not allow to do that. They said how the delivery would be done were decided by the shipper. After that, I had to wait for few days until they were done with the "fail delivery attempts" process then I was allowed to call for a pickup.
I read that some people had good experience with them. Perhaps I am just unlucky to live in an area that has a bad driver? (I live at Etobicoke, Kipling/Steeles area) Anyway, I think I have had enough with Purolator and never bought any business that uses this service to ship their items.

    Hello Manishathwal,

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience withPurolator. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may havecaused.

The transit time from Etobicoke, ON to Valemount, BC is 5 business days. As thepackage was shipped on July 16th, the original expected deliverydate was July 23rd. According to the scans you’ve included, theshipment was delayed due to a mechanical issue on the trailer during thetransit from Toronto to Edmonton. The package does show as having arrived inPrince George today, which is the terminal that services Valemount.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I work for Purolator and I have to agree the company sucks they don't follow seniority only give 5 or 6 hour shifts expect you not to make any mistakes or they will write you up on the spot. Not only that they give more hours to new hires then to people who have way more seniority. The union dues are a joke and there is no representation whatsoever they always side with the company. I understand the economy is bad but at least follow the general rules and treat your employees with some respect. The brag about all the money they make and then the following week they cut everyone's hours.

They are probably the cheapest so Dell, NCIX, SonyStyle, Lenovorepair etc choose them. And then the misery starts. I was supposed to receive 9 packages by them in 2012. All of them was not delivered and had to pick, one got returned to shipper.

I do not understand why the driver never ring the bell? I never saw the Purolator truck in my apt complex. I guess this may have triggered a million complains, but they don't care since they know they will get the business because they are the cheapest.. Prob is we need to tell this our online stores and reject them who ships through Puro cheaters..

Because of a couple of bad apples yapping on their cell phones in the hub, they decided to ban them for everyone except the managers and drivers. If you're going to ban them, ban them for all, not a select group. No processes for their operations, everybody does their own thing in there. In the hub after 4:00pm is like the UN - just as disjointed and a bleak place to be in. LP are the biggest bunch of losers - they can manage to keep cell phones out, yet they cannot keep an employee's car from being stolen.

Purolator is at it again - saying that they've attempted delivery when they obviously haven't, not bothering to notify me that there's a package (my final exams, which MUST be written this weekend) that has been sitting in their depot (in the far east end of the city in an inconvient industrial park) for more than NINE DAYS. The delivery address is in the far west end of the city. Purolator did something similar last term - that time, the tracking read that the package had actually been delivered, when it had not. In this current instance, someone was home the day they supposedly tried to deliver but, even were it the case that no-one was home, the building concierge is authorized to sign for packages. The concierge reports no-one from Purolator, and no notice was left in the mailbox (which it should have been - if the delivery had actually been attempted but failed). Phone call to the company, to someone who barely speaks English, was a complete Customer Service FAIL. Purolator refuses to make any accommodations to fix THEIR failure to do the job they were contracted and paid to do and insist that I make the trek all the way out to their depot (I have no transportation available and they were paid to deliver). Purolator is not only lazy and incompetent - Purolator is dishonest.

Purolator is the best example of how not to run a business. The overpromise but underdeliver. When you complain, they turn the situation on the customer. The customer is always wrong. Their drivers are rude and lazy, don't even make an effort to deliver packages, too lazy or ignorant to find the buzz code of an apartment.

They don't even offer refunds or try and repair broken trust. It is a shame they are a Canadian company as they reflect poorly on service and deliver, which Canadians take seriously.

How is this company still in business they are so bad. Rude staff, don't even drop off a note when they attempt to deliver items, they lose items in the branch. Do not use, if you want to get your stuff.
