I was "failed" for "looking away" from my screen. However, I WAS NOT looking away from my screen. Whoever was "proctoring" this test was not smart enough to understand the concept of a wide screen. I have a widescreen, so I was looking at both ends of my screen. I was given 3 violations within seconds of each other, no explanation, no correction, I was just "failed" and was removed from the testing portal. Hundreds of dollars waisted in lost work, plus the fees and my time studying all wasted because the company could not hire someone with a functioning frontal lobe. I tried to call the company to explain the obvious misunderstanding: but big surprise, they don't have their phone number on their website (strange). So, I googled the number and was met with an equally incompetent person (basic grasp of the English language). This person told me that the review takes 2-5 days! I asked, "what do I do now? Do I wait for you guys to call me"? NO LIE! He hung up on me! I genuinely thought I was the victim of an online scam based in India. I had to do research into the company just to find out that while they are "legitimate," it seems like a lot of people have similar problems with them. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Recommendation: If you have to use this company, don't do it online. It's a scam.
In Oregon, in order to become a contractor you MUST interact with the company PSI Services. It is obvious, because of these exclusive contracts with government agencies, companies like PSI simply don't have to try to please their customers, or offer any reasonable customer service. If this company had to compete in open markets they wouldn't last a day.
My "proctored" online exam was failed because I was "looking away." I was not "looking away," I was looking at either end of my very wide computer monitor. I was violated 3 times in a span of seconds, removed from the portal and failed. I had no conversation, nothing was explained to me, no correction was offered. I lost an entire day of work and $60 for the test.
I attempted to call the company so I could explain the misunderstanding. There is no phone number on the entire website. I had to google it. Once I got the number and called, and my experience got even worse. The gentleman I talked to was nice, but he spoke little to no English, it was incredibly hard to communicate with him. After a time I was offered a couple options. One, I pay another $60 (incentive to have people fail suddenly and for no reason) and reschedule my test for another day. Or, they can do a review and have the answer for me in 2-5 days! I asked "what do I do now? do I just wait for you guys to call me"? NOTHING, he hung up.
I've never been hung up on by a customer service rep, not once. This is what no competition looks like.
