Actually not everyone eats pancakes without syrup. I do not. However I have got to say that lately restaurants are not giving the required condiments unless you ask for them. Even McDonalds have stop giving ketchup with fried unless you specifically ask for ketchup. Most placed will give you a refund if you do not like the food, or a discount on your next visit. Then again some people will deny that such food left the kitchen, I had that experience once, when the chicken I ordered for a party was burnt. Apparently it was a small business, and the person who denied the burnt chicken has a history of rude behavior. His partner who was a great cook left and since he has a history of rude behavior and not cooking food properly his place went out of business. If this keeps up, this location will shut down.
I admire your standing up for these employees but sadly your plans may not work. Sadly this kind of treatment is usual in jobs like fast food, retail ect. They would get so many complaints. They may not listen to a third party complaint. Second If you protest outside the store, sadly they can ask you to leave and call the police if you refuse to. There are bullies everywhere, whether it is in school or the work place. The supervisor does have a choice however, she can choose to ignore what corporate told her to do. I think you need to take this issue up with Dollar General and Walmart, not Kellogg's. They are supposed to get rid of out of date foods. Stores like that have a history of overlooking expiry dates.
Even if a restaurant messed up an order they can kill someone. There was one restaurant that allegedly peanut butter to a 14-year-old child in a grilled cheese sandwich. I say allegedly because later they revealed that the so-called mother put the peanut butter in her son's sandwich purposely so she can use them. Sadly she did not have his EpiPen. If a restaurant serves an allergen food to a customer they can kill the customer. But at the same time, you are probably older and more educated than these people. I am not saying that people who work in fast food are uneducated, but usually, they are teens or students who are in college. They do not have medical degrees ect.
Well, sadly this is becoming the norm. With so many different cultures in the US, they are changing our standards. They do not celebrate some of our holidays so they want businesses to remain open. It is not just Sheetz that is doing this but many other places. I do not know how old you are, but if you are of the older generation you may remember that stores were closed on Sundays because Sunday was supposed to be family time. Then people complained that they wanted to shop on Sunday's so stores opened up on Sundays, with reduced hours. People complained about that as well so now all week stores are open regular hours. Some people even want stores open on Christmas. The good news is in most places they do not require employees to work on holidays, They usually ask for volunteers. Those who do not celebrate these holidays volunteer.
