I ordered 2 packs of marinated steak kabobs and used the delivery service. 2 days later we cooked the kabobs and noticed a fishy smell. Thought I was imagining it, but after taking a bite I realized they had definitely been contaminated with fish or shellfish. I am allergic to both and immediately had a reaction.
I realize the meat counter does both steak and seafood, but I have never had an issue before. I took the 2nd package back to the store the next day. I waited at the customer service area for 5 minutes before an employee came over and said he did not know where a manager was and would not look for one because he was not on the clock. I then had to ask around myself to find the manager. Once I found her and told her my story she could not have cared less. Just refunded my money and called it a day. When I asked her to speak to the meat department about it she said "well they have both back there." No care in the world that if my reaction was more severe it could have been much worse. No apology and no empathy.
I have shopped at this location for years, but I definitely think I will now be shopping elsewhere. I would have been fine if she was genuinely concerned or even said sorry.
Customer service training is much needed in the store as a whole, but especially for this manager.
