O'Reilly Auto Parts review: Return policy not abiding by it ( 1 comment)

1133 Main Street Barstow california location. John is the store manager and he did not even seem concerned about my situation. I guess anyone can come in and provide your phone and regardless what there return policy states. They do not go by their return policy guidelines. If your items were purchased by card. Then your refund goes to your card. No store credit policy states.
I found myself purchasing two starters in one month. Not because I needed to starters for same vehicle. It was because after I was told no one can return my starter without receipt or card that I used to pay for my starter. Well the same day I purchased my starter, about 4 hours later my starter was returned by my mechanic and no refund came my way. He was able to apply the balance to another item without having original receipt and debit card used to pay for the starter he returned. The policy states no store credit, he was able to apply the refund to another purchase without receipt or my debit card. It sounds to me he was given store credit, right!?! Policy says no store credit will be giving out regardless of circumstances. The manager john said he wasn't given store credit. So how in the hell was he able to apply the refund to another item he was trying to purchase, being I purchased the returned item with my card. I feel O'Reilly's should refund me back my money for my second starter I had to purchase because my first starter was returned for store credit. Why should their screw up fall on me by not following store policy. I was a loyal customer of this location. Spent a lot of money at this store. The store manager did nothing to resolve this situation.
Adrian an employee knows they did wrong and he feels bad because billy trim who returned my starter without receipt and got store credit is known for returning items that didn't belong to him and gets store credit even though their policy says no store credit will be given.. I hope these reviews change the way they do business..

I had someone steal a brand new part from my garage. I called my local store and told them specifically NOT to accept any returns without a receipt using my phone number. The manager said he would make sure this did not happen. Seven hours later the thief returned my part without the receipt and received a cash refund of $128.00. All of which is contrary to their posted return policy. The regional manager said it was just my tough luck they were not liable and would not ensure I received my money or my part back.
