My husband took out an Opodo annual membership and booked a holiday through Opodo who arranged flights with Ryan Air to Italy.
My husband tragically took his own life in January which was very distressing for our family. Opodo refused to refund the £89.00 membership even though I explained the circumstances which I found shocking and insensitive.
I was told to contact Ryan Air directly to cancel the flights which took several months to refund. Ryan Air have told me they have refunded to Opodo. Opodo tell me they have not received the refund and have no idea when they will do so. Nobody seems to be able to help me and each time I phone I talk to a different operator, some of whom have poor English and struggle to deal with my enquiry.
I am stuck in limbo land between Ryan Air and Opodo with Opodo seemingly unable or unwilling to support my claim for a refund, or to find out where my money has been refunded to.
In my personal circumstances, I find this distressing and exhausting. Posting this review is my only hope that somebody might contact me to assist my refund claim of £450.00.
I would never book with Opodo or Ryan Air again as the confusion, lack of support, empathy and decency are appalling.
Recommendation: Never book flights with Opodo - they are difficult to contact and awful at dealing with bereavement refunds.
