On February 27, 2010, I purchased a Nordic Track treadmill from Sears in Jacksonville, AR. From reviews, Nordic Track was rated top of the market. After testing several models I selected the T9 ci model. I paid $999 plus tax for the treadmill. I also paid $199 for installation and $275 for the 5 year extended warranty.
I was very excited about my purchase. Sears scheduled delivery and informed me that Nordic Track would be calling to set up an installation appointment. After a week, I still did not hear from anyone. I called customer service. After several calls to customer service across a three day span, finally a tech contacted me to set up installation.
It took the tech 5 hours to install the treadmill. The reviews on your website state customers were able to put it together in 2 or 3 hours. The tech said the wire was not long enough but he would make it work. The heart rate mechanism would not work correctly. The belt stopped working on day 3. I calledcustomer service on March 13. After following the troubleshooting instructions, the customer service rep instructed me to follow the steps to remove the motor cover. After the cover was removed, to call back and get more help.
I informed the rep that I paid 199 to have it installed. Also, why would I go through the trouble of removing the cover only to call back and be placed on hold again? I asked the rep if his time was more valuable then mine, a customer. He told me he was not allowed to stay on the phone long with customers. I insisted on a repair appointment. For 199, I should not have to remove any covers or try to fix any wiring issues.
I was told that a tech would call within 3 to 5 business to schedule repair. Friday was the 5th business day. I begin to get considered because no one had called. I had the same problem during installation and a supervisor had to escalate the issue to get it resolved. I called customer service on March 19th and requested a supervisor. I had to argue with the customer service rep for 30 minutes. She refused to give me a supervisor. Then she put me on hold for 20 minutes and came back to inform me they were now closed and someone would call me on Monday.
I called back and got a different rep. I was then informed the call center was 24/7 but supervisors go home at 6pm. She informed me she was escalating the issue with the tech and putting in the forms to have a supervisor call me on Monday. By Monday afternoon, no one had call. I called back only to be told that the supervisors were in a meeting all day and someone would call before the night was over. Again no one called. I then calledSears. After telling my ordeal to the store manager, he offered to escalate the service call. I informed him that Nordic Track had lost me as a customer. I did not want to be stuck with a machine that I could not get serviced in the future. The treadmill will be returned to Sears for a full refund.
I wrote a review on the website and your company refused to publish it. I’m writing you this letter in hopes that you will address the issues inCustomer Service for future customers. I personally will never deal with your company again. I have also enclosed a copy of the review I submitted and the response from an online representative over a week later. Clearlycustomer service is not a high priority with your company. Your technology is at the top of the market. I felt I would get the level of service of which I paid. I was gravely disappointed.

poor service / poor product
I will try to keep this short. Purchased a Nordictrack Elliptical, product #NTEW50707.0 and received it in mid September of 2009. I also purchased a 5 year warranty, all of this was purchased straight from the Nordictrack website. The machine's console broke on December 8th, placed an order for a replacement, took 7 days to get, took 5 minutes to replace it. After replacing the console, the resistence didn't work. I called Nordictrack for assistance on the 14th, Nordictrack sent out what is called a resistence motor on the 22nd. Once again, took 7 days to receive the part. This time however, Nordictrack said a tech needs to come out to fix the problem. I was told I would receive a call from the tech in 48 hours, welllll, after a week ( I know Christmas time and all), I finally received a call on the 29th of December. The tech informed me that I didn't have the right parts on order and i needed to call Nordictrack back and confirm what was shipped. Ummmmm isn't that your job Mr. Technican? I called Nordictrack on the 29th, about 20 mins after that phone call and Nordictrack said I had the right parts. Now the tech will not answer my phone calls and here we are, its the 4th of January. I have called and called and nothing. Now Nordictrack is telling me the tech has till the 5th to return my call! Really, wow, awesome.
Like many complaints on here, the service is horrible. Nordictrack contracts out their service on their products and these contractors turn around and subcontract the work out to yet another company. I firmly believe the reason I can't get a call back is the tech lives 200 miles away and will come to western South Carolina when he has enough work to justify the drive. I will be requesting a return of funds for their product. I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with these people.
Here is my new update. I am the one that is from South Carolina. My elliptical broke ONCE AGAIN! This time the belt broke. This machine is used mainly by my wife (5-6 times a week) and I use it on the weekends since I use the one at the gym during the weekdays. Well, on 2/21/10 it broke again. What a joke. Its not like we abuse this machine, its just my wife and I using it. I give up. I have requested Nordictrack to come pick this machine up. I can't deal with this anymore. NOW I have to go and find a new elliptical and go through the headache of doing the research of finding a dependable machine. I would love to give Nordictrack another shot but after what we have been through for the past 2 1/2 months, I can't handle it.

I whole-heatedly agree with this compliant. I bought Nordictrack GX4.0 bike in December, 2011. Just recently, I noticed that the resistance no longer worked. Fortunately, I had purchased the "extended warranty" (notice that I put quotes) during the purchase of the bike. I called the customer service and explained them my situation. I was told that I would have to open it up myself, troubleshoot, and fix it on my own. I was absolutely shocked to hear it knowing it has not even been 1 year since the purchase and the extended warranty would not work. I told the agent that I did not know have the technical expertise to open up the bike and resolve the problem on my OWN, which was the reason to get an extended warranty in the first place! She told me to look at the manual on Page 21 on how to open the bike and fix it. Unfortunately, I do not have the proper tools. I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed by the type of service and now have a broken bike used barely one year! I would not advise anyone to ever purchase a product from this company as they do no honor warranties, and their products are very unreliable.
My sister bought an nordic track elliptical an didnt use hardly at all so i bought it from her for $600 an used it faithfully for going on 3 years. i am sad to say that it has broken down on me. the craftmen ship sucks. the part where the foot pedal is has broke on both sides due to poor craftmen ship an i had to have my fatherinlaw weld the part back together. now the arm part makes a slaming noies every so often when in use. i would not recemend buying one
Just try to get back your money. This is a very dishonest company that produces inferior products and offer terrible service.
Dear friends,
I ordered an elliptical equipment from Nordic and paid for it online around March 27., 2012 I receive a wonderful email from Mr. Jenkins of Customer Sales Rep on that same day. ..assuring me it will be ready in 10 to 14 days. So, I wait a few weeks...By April 15, I followed up and Mr. Jenkins reassures me things are on their way ..just wait another 10 to 15 days once more...By May 3, I am worried ...it seems Nordic has become "Nowhere:. After calling for 1 and 1/2 hours, I get patched through with their billings and sales department...and am given a new replacement order and prompt reassurance that i can monitor the order from the order to shipment with tracking number. All this is possible in 10 to 14 days. They apologize and reveal to me to the shipment was actually attempted but because my phone never worked, It was my fault. However, on review of the phone calls, there were no records of calls made by their freight service to me. It is odd when a delivery has to be confirmed by a phone call when home depot, amazon
and ebay deliver to my residence without problems and hassle..plus no phone calls. guess what ? by May 15, I followup and go through a horrendous 2 and 1/2 hour wait .. no reply...i try their e chat and finally find out they shipped it out without revealing to me the tracking details...what? it is not policy to have the shipper give the details until 24 to 48 hours...what? hERE IS MORE:
THE SHIPPING DEPT EMAILS ME LATER THAT DAY, THEY MADE A PROCESSING ERROR AND WILL THEREFORE REPEAT THE PROCESS AGAIN... Nordic has time and time again failed to deliver on its promises. They say one thing and do the other.
Can i still get my refund? If you cannot deliver the goods, just return my money. I shudder to think receiving a lemon and having to go through lousy service from you guys... from disappointed Marylander
Rosalita,
Thank you for your feed back. I would like to apologize on behalf of our company for the frustrations that you have been caused. If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to email me.

I had the same problem with the elliptical I bought from them. The debris is actually a powder they use in their Chinese factories that is supposed to lubricate the parts. But in more recent machines they have changed it so that they use other lubricants. If I were you I would demand that they take back the machine. You will have endless problems with it.
I just got off the phone with Nordic Track service. We purchased a treadmill last fall. We have been experiencing squeaking, debris coming off the belt, etc. Since I purchased a service contract when I bought it, I called to have someone come out and check these things out. The CSR proceeded to tell me that the debris was normal and that I should tighten the belt myself. I asked why if I purchased a service agreement, should I have to do anything myself. He again told me what i needed to do and said there wasn't much point to a tech coming out to do what I could do in 5 minutes myself. We went around and around a bit and and I said I would call back. Then the CSR got obviously frustrated with me and said he would send a technician but they wouldn't call me for a few days and we couldn't set up an appt for several days and there was basically no way I'd get it serviced right away (which I didn't expect in the first place). He was going on and on to the point that I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I finally got him to stop telling me what he was going to do long enough to say that I would call back again some other time. He said anyone else would tell me the same thing. What the heck?! I paid for a service contract and then they keep trying to talk me out of service? then get snippy when I question it? Right now I'm so angry I don't even want to look at the treadmill. Obviously my problems are not nearly as serious as some of the other posters. It's running and I'm not missing parts but the principal is that I paid for something - why shouldn't I get it? I wish I had checked these message boards before buying.
Thank you. I got a resolution from your company by having your company send $1000 to me. Or at least I was told the money will be sent. I hope that is true. I was offered yet another machine but after my experience with your products I opted for the money. So I am still more than $500 out of pocket even with the refund, as I spent $200 for the assembly, $200 for the previous assembly, $150 for the previous extender warranty. If your company made a reliable product you would have profited from the money for the warranty and never would have heard from me. I have the feeling that many other people have had similar experiences with you. People should be very careful doing business with you. I have ordered a machine at about the same price from one of your competitors. I see no complaints about them on this or any other website. And I am still stuck with trying to find a way of removing your machine from my house. I am having trouble even giving it away for free on Cragislist.
Brooklynb,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I would really like to look into this for you. If you are interested in having me look over this matter, please contact me directly by email.
Thank you for your time,

I purchased a Healthrider e90 machine from Icon Fitness (same company as Nordic Track) 2 years ago with a 3 year extended warranty. Starting about 6 months after we got it, it started to malfunction. Loud noises, resistance lost and about 100 other problems. We had technicians come to fix it each time and the fixes tended to last 4-6 weeks, then something else broke. Finally after the second year on the extended warrantee the company said we had reached the limit of assistance we could get they offered a new machine at no cost, but we still had to pay $150 for an extended warrantee plus $200 to have the new machine assembled. We got the new machine, a FreeStrider 35 S., and had somebody come to assemble it. And within 3 days (mind you we are two people who use it machine 1 hour per day altogether) the machine is not working. The only explanation I can figure out is that Icon Fitness has these machines manufactured by unsupervised workers in China who do not care if the product works. Indeed Icon does not care either. They make money on extended warrantees. The consumer be dammed. Be very careful with these people. And I hope a dweeb from the company will offer my money back and a service to pick up their junk.

irresponsible corporation
Nordic Track is Irresponsible with its service warranty. Huge delay in getting service (have not yet received), rude customer service. They take you money for the warranty but don't want to follow through on providing the service. Rating should not be "Please Improve" because I feel no need to be civil with this company after the treatment I have received.
Details:
I got a Nordic Track Treadmill from Sears and bought an Extended Service Warranty, which is serviced by UTS. This has been the most annoying and unhelpful company ever in getting service on a warranty.
I called over a month ago, and had the hassle of not being recognized in their system even though I was looking at the receipt with my warranty information on it. After that was figured out no thanks to them, I scheduled service. They wanted me to give them the details of what was wrong and then diagnose it over the phone without ever having seen it. Then, they would ship out the parts, which were on back order and took half a month to get to my house. AFTER that, I was expected to call the local sub-contractor to get service. The local sub-contractor came in the beginning of October and realized they had diagnosed the wrong thing and ordered more parts from UTS. That was in the beginning of the month. It is now almost the end of the month and I have yet to receive three parts that are needed. This is over a month since I first reported the problem
I have been very persistent in following up, and have received rude or flaky customer "service" every time. They would tell me parts shipped that day when in fact they had not. They would give me no ETA for when they could ship those parts. In fact, one woman would not hand me over to her supervisor after I told her I wanted to speak with them about the fact that it was over a month. She had the gall to tell me I should cancel my plan.
They take your money and run. Nordic Track and Sears, both of whom I used to respect, should be ashamed of handing its warranty plan over to such an irresponsible corporation.

I have a Nordic Track Eliptical it continues to have the same problems. I bought my extended warrenty through Sears at the time of purchase for 3 years. Sears sold my warrenty to UTS who now services my eleptical. I have called to have my product serviced and it has been a month now with no one from the company contacting me on when they will come and fix my machine. I have called UTS multiple times and they keep telling me wait till I get all the parts. I expalined I had all the parts I needed, and they proceeded to tell me that the tech who was out a month before said that I needed new parts which he orderd only after I reported a second problem. Bottom line is the UTS company is less then helpful in getting the repair company that they hired to actually come out and do the repairs. There is no accountibility, I continue to have the same types of problems and they delay in getting the repairs done. Its almost like they think if they stall enough the warrenty will just run out and won't have to honor the contract. These extended warrenties are rip offs, I asked to speak to a supervior at UTS thye would not let me, I keep getting the run around and I feel like I was cheated out of my money. When I purchased the warrenty they say 3 problems in 3 years and you get a new machine, well that statement has been modified to 3 problems with in 1 year and they will replace it. What a rip off!
Jason,
My name is Jesse with Nordic Track, I recently read this posting about issues you had with UTS, the company we use for extended warranty work. I do apologize for the issues you had with your machine, even though they were in the past we are still commited to your long term satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything that I can help you with. You can email me directly.
I also wanted to let you know that Sears will sell the Best extended warranty for UTS, they dont cover any warranties on Nordic Tracks. Also if you were told 3 repairs in 3 years you get a new machine is not correct and I am sorry that you were given wrong information.
Thanks

Improper disclosure of fees
I ordered a Nordic Track product by phone from the company (known as Icon Health and Fitness). I asked for their 4-month same as cash finance offer. Upon receiving the first account statement, I noted a $39 "Annual Fee" on the statement. I first called the account processing company (HC Procesing Center of Lowell, AR) and spoke to Mario. I explained...

Bought ASR 700 Illiptical machine in Sears store in Wichita, Ks. on Dec. 1st. They were to have been delivered to Garden City Sears store on Dec. 5th. It did not get there unti Dec. 14. While trying to put it together I am missing parts and have parts that do not go with machine. I have ordered parts that I know for sure I am missing at present time but will not know until I get further along what else is missing as nothing now is numbered or lettered. I can call you and you will schedule a time to put it together for a minimum of $115. I have most put together now.
I am very disappointed in the packaging of this product.
poor service
I submitted an order on the NordicTrack Website on Nov 26, 2007. On Nov 28, we were contacted to review delivery information. On Dec 3, we received an email stating our elliptical had been shipped and we would have it in a few days. It is now Dec 11, we still do not have our product. There is no shipping status on the Freight Company website either. We called to inquire on the status of the shipment and were provided with the freight companies phone number. Called them, they have no information on our shipment. NordicTracks repsponse: it may not have been scanned yet. The truck will not go out with 1 item on it. Nordic Track's website states an item will be received within 2 weeks. I ordered from NordicTrack instead of Sears because I thought I would get better service.

I bought a defective Nordictrack elliptical from Sears and have been dealing with Nordictrack service - Icon Fitness for over a month and still have no replacement from the company. They no longer are committing to a 2 wk delivery and there is no date of expected shipment just that it will arrive about a week after it is shipped. Sears service is far better. At least you get to talk to a real person who will actually do something to remedy the situation.
lack of customer service skills!
They lack extreme customer service skills. Do not offer expediting of parts when products have not been packaged. Treats customers rudely, not good with problem resolution. Expects customers to eat up costs for their mistakes. Purchased treadmill and cannot use until part that was not packaged to put machine together is sent. Stated I am responsible for the cost of having item needed sent overnight. Then tells me to throw extra item away when I asked if I should return part I don't need, but they're concerned about being cost effective.
nordic track do not honor the warranty!
Purchased an elliptical trainer, the NordicTrack CX 998 on August 20, 2006, from Nordictrack.com. Finally got a delivery three weeks later. After using the machine for one week the resistance stopped working. I phoned the customer service department who trouble shooted the problem and said they would send me a new part and a service technician from Service Pro would be in contact to set up a date to service the machine. The part arrived three days later, but I was never contacted by a service technician. I waited a week and still no service call, I called Nordic-Track again. This was the routine for me. Wait a few days and call Nordic Track customer service. All they would say was to wait a few more days and someone should contact me. I also e-mailed them at www.nordictrack.com numerous time, again today, and still no success at having a service person contact me or return my call to have my elliptical serviced - which is part of the warranty. I don't know what else to do to have nordictrack honor the warranty.
36 years a fan. Never again. Bought one 5-7 years ago for family cabin and it’s good (love it); bought one 1-2 years ago for home and it’s [censored]e to use. I wish I was rich enough to donate it to be someone else’s problem and buy a new one from a different company.
Buyer beware. Ifit has sent a technician out to "fix" this treadmill at least 4 times within the past year. Each time the treadmill works for awhile, then stops working. We purchased the extended warranty which includes a lemon clause, (please see attachment). They will not honor it!
This last time they sent someone, they ordered the wrong part, technician came out and said the new part would be ordered. The new order was placed on 11/17, to date it still says "processing'! I was in contact with one rep who was supposed to be speaking with one of their engineers, she stopped responding to my emails. I then attempted to email again and have yet to receive a response. I called last week and finally got through, the rep advised the part was on backorder but it's available now and I will receive it in 3 days. That's a lie! As of today the status of the part is "processing" which means it hasn't been shipped.
I'm currently on hold (for the 2nd time today) trying to find out what the issue is. The first time I called, I held for 47 minutes ( they hung up)! 2nd call, I've currently been on hold for 20 minutes! This by far is the worst company, their customer service is horrible, their warranty department is horrible, they do not honor the terms of the warranty. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase anything from Nordictrack- Ifit!
Since I bought the x22i, whenever I run on it, I hear weird sound like lose but in front of the treadmill, I have made several complain but still have not been able to get any help.
We received the bike over two months ago. The control board was bad and we haven't been able to use the bike. We keep getting told the new board is on the way and we still haven't got it. We thought you were a good company but it looks like we just got scammed out of a lot of money for a totally useless product.
sounds like poor quality control and manufacturing practices. if iso 9001 practices are implemented and adherents to all iso standards the end result could have been different. they did not hire enough EEs, Embedded specialists like myself. They should have stuck to the old original nordic track. that worked.!
I received the treadmill which is broken and dented.
I bought my elliptical from Norditrack in December 2019. It broke February 7 2019. The arm fell out of the socket as I was stepping forward. I have some back and shoulder pain since then. The company ordered parts and I received them but the technician NEVER called and never answered the phone or returned my calls. This is messing up my regimen and dealing with them is such a headache. I was really wondering if there will be a class action lawsuit against them.
Sept 19th purchased 3 yr parts and labor contract for $149.99 from Sears for NordicTractk recumbent bike. When I tried to register at NordicTractk was informed not accepting contacts from Sears.
I would like my money back .After many calls I was given a Case#6112962 and contract #[protected].

I called the company to renew my warranty for 1 year $96.87 They basically charged my debit card for a 3 year warranty for $190.35. So I am writing to request that they reimburse me for the balance owed which is, $93.48. My contract # is [protected].
Thank you, Dottie Gray Please send me an email to let me know when I will receive my money. dodsgray@gmail.com
Don’t revew the warranty, it’s a scam
I totally agree Nordic track SUCKS! I bought an elliptical and after two weeks it was making the worst noise ever I had a good outcome because they sent someone out to get it fix right away. However happiness was not for long because two weeks later a louder and worst noise started again. I emailed them and called, but they wanted me to take the machine apart and tell them were the noise was coming from. Really so if I was an equipment mechanic why in the hell would I be calling them. I wish there would be a way that the could band this company because all they sell is junk!
I can agree with all of the above. I have an 8 month old x9i that needs major maintenance for the second time. Actually it's more like a 6.5 month old treadmill because it's been unusable for a month and half. Dont buy anything from nordic track/icon fitness unless you hate yourself.

I purchased a treadmill in 2012. I selected one because it had "IFIT" - which allowed me to download maps (including a selection of free ones) as well as program my own maps based on google maps. In 2014 they changed it - and now I can only use those features if I pay $10/month. Even the maps I created when it was free, and/or downloaded when it was free, are no longer available to me.
I am so upset that I don't know where to start. About 4 weeks ago I was running at a 15% incline at 12mph and then tried to stop like I do when am running at lower mph, but the treadmill didn't stop. I ended up falling and hurt myself real bad, thankfully I didn't loose my life by hitting my head. I knew I wasn't crazy, that I did press the stop button and also removed the emergency key but the norditrack did not stop until later. It took at least 15 second before it started to slow. I was so traumatized and it took days before I could even go into my workout room again. This has happen twice again after the initial incident. The most recent happened less than an hour ago. I stopped it and took off the emergency button but it won't stop. I had to yell for my husband because I was so scared I would fall again. He ran upstairs before the Norditrack stopped. I still have wounds all over my leg and I remember how much pain I was in, when the initial incident happened. I can't even wear dresses or shorts this summer due to my injuries and now, another malfunction from your treadmill. I have tried calling, but your center is closed. Do you guys realize people can loose their lives on your treadmill? I have ran all through my life so I'm not new to this. I can't imagine stopping a treadmill that keeps going even when you remove emergency button? I need a call back.
Update:
This is the 3rd week since I contacted Nordictrack and I am yet to receive a call back. They never offered to send a technician to come look at the treadmill, instead the rep via phone and Internet stated they were filing an injury claim. I was told to unplug my machine and the legal department will be calling me in 2weeks. Their machine is not even a year old since my husband bought it for me. I don't have a treadmill to use and they still have not called me. The only thing I have to show for all this are wounds and scars on my legs.
