My 14-year-old son, who is a minor, was charged 1,824 SEK by MyHeritage for a paid subscription. He did not have the knowledge or consent of a legal guardian to enter into any subscription agreement. Under Swedish law, minors cannot enter into binding subscription contracts without parental or guardian approval. Therefore, this agreement is invalid.
As the legal guardian, I have contacted MyHeritage and requested immediate cancellation of the subscription and a full refund of the amount charged. A company should not process or enforce subscription payments from a minor without verified guardian consent.
I am filing this complaint because a minor was charged for a service he is not legally allowed to purchase. I request a full refund of 1,824 SEK, written confirmation that the subscription has been terminated, and assurance that no further charges will be made.
Claimed loss: 1824 SEK
Desired outcome: Full refund and cancellation of subscription
